I had booked a car from Miami Florida to Orlando, Florida on December 29, 2023 as I get to Alamo car rental my reservation was pulled up but I was not verified for some odd reason. The manager was then called over she was no help. She made me wait six hours I had to spend a lot of money going from lot to lot because I had no way of getting in a rental, I missed the flight that was $200 that I lost due to this manager not helping me I had everything that was needed credit cards and passport. She never asked me for anything she just told me she cannot help me that was the worst experience I've ever had to deal with

Rented a car in PR in August 2023. We returned the car all was given the okay at inspection and we paid the bill. In Sept we receive a suspicious email with a pdf I opened. The form letter from Alamo corporate in MO said we damaged the car's undercarriage.

Not true. I called and asked if this letter was fraudulent and Alamo said no. Fast forward and on Oct 10 we get a letter dated 10/4 telling us to pay their invoice ~$1600 for damages. They even had an estimate from a PR mechanic.

So here's my review. In PR the rental, the car, the return was as normal as normal could be. But their antics trying to get me to pay $1600 for something they are fabricating, well on a 1 to 10 scale, honestly with the disappointment I can't even get to a one.

Thanks to Alamo I'm now stuck in a position to try to get them to nullify their shenanigans. I am in the right so I won't loose any sleep. Shame on them and if you're reading this, be very careful at Alamo San Juan PR. .

I had a terrible experience with Alamo in Luxembourg. I rented a car through their website and chose to pay in advance because they were offering a 5% discount if I paid upfront. When I went to the counter to collect the car keys, the person at the reception desk insisted on charging me again. I showed them the confirmation that I had already paid, along with my bank statement, but they kept insisting that their system did not show any payment from me. They did not try to help me or call someone for assistance, despite the evidence I provided. After arguing for a long time and causing a long line of people behind me, they finally let me go without charging me again.

However, the next day, I discovered that they had charged my bank account right after letting me go, without my authorization. This was contrary to what they had told me earlier, that I would not be charged again. This is when my nightmare began. I had to send multiple emails to Alamo in Luxembourg, explaining that they had charged me twice. Their responses were dismissive, saying that I was wrong and that I had been charged only once. They suggested that I check with my bank.

I called my bank and provided them with the transaction number and all the receipts, but they also insisted that I had been charged only once. Despite my numerous emails asking for a refund, Alamo stopped replying to me altogether.

When I threatened to take legal action, they finally decided to consult their Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO sent a very short email saying that they were aware of the situation and would investigate, promising to reply within one week. After one week passed, I had to send another email to remind them, and the CFO responded with this: "We have refunded €113.97 today."

What surprised me the most was the lack of understanding and empathy from this company. They never apologized for their mistake or for making me feel like I had to beg for what was rightfully mine. They never apologized for not trusting what I was saying and for not conducting a proper investigation, even with involvement from the CFO. As a result, I have decided that I will never rent a car from this company again because they have shown me that they do not care about their customers.

My flight was changed last minute so I contacted the store to let them know of the changes and the rep I spoke to told me he couldn't accommodate me in no way possible. He suggested I cancel the reservation and never apologized for the inconvenience. Rented a late-model sedan that began having computer/battery issues on the second day of a week-long rental. Attempt to have the car replaced for one that worked entailed 1. multiple phone calls over the duration of our trip. 2. long hold/wait times 3. Repeating key details over and over to each service rep: no notes kept, apparently 4. being directed to return the inoperative car to the distant airport where we picked it up, and told this was our responsibility. 5. being sent to another Alamo site where we were told a replacement car was reserved for us: on arrival we were told no car available. 6. and on and on, HOURS spent both during and after what was supposed to be a vacation. Do not waste time with this company, I know we never will again.

My wife and I had the one of the worst experience we've ever had dealing with a car rental. After returning a car to the Airport in Ft. Myers, I realized that I left my watch in the vehicle! I call Alamo about 25 times to no avail. I drove back to the airport Alamo shortly after an spoke to several employees about my watch be left in the vehicle. The branch manager Courtney was the most rude and obnoxious manager I have ever had the misfortune to speak with! She never greeted me & never apologized at any time during the brief encounter. She simply made the situation worse by not trying to found out who last cleaned the vehicle before it went out. She is extremely intolerant and has little to no service skills when it comes to dealing with a crisis. She simply compounds the issue by being rude and indifferent. I have yet to hear from anyone regarding my watch which was taken out of the vehicle by someone there.

Rented from Alamo . Picked up the car from Pensacola airport and flying out of Atl. Our rental got towed in Atl while having dinner. Thought we'd just go pick up our car. Didn't happen. The lady at the tow said I needed a letter head fax from Alamo saying they could release the car to me so I went to work contacting Alamo with zero help. I called like 7 times speaking to different people. I was told I could only be helped from the place I rented from which was in Fla and I was now in Atl. So I called trying to get help with no help at all. The guy said he let the manager know and had to wait . I called back after not hearing anything and the guy said he was the only one working and the manager was in a different section and he couldn't leave his position just to help me . I let him know I was at the towing place and I really needed help. Two Uber trips later and another car rental from Avis because the Alamo at the airport said he could help me since I already had a car out. We went to the airport to get help from them with the towing issue and they said it was a corporate issue. We are so frustrated That we can't get the help needed from Alamo to get the car out . We were flying out the next day and had to change our flight. And extend our hotel. I still don't know what is going to happen tomorrow as far as getting the car out. We have personal belongings in the car. I need help

I rented a van for pickup date 10/23/2020, to be returned on the following Monday, call that morning to find out what time could it be picked up, was told at 12noon, but to hurry because like 6 people were interested, when we got there, we had no knowledge of having to have a major credit card because they did not except my bank debit care, at 60 who wants a major credit card?, well here it is, plans were made a week in advance in renting the van, to take the family to a air show in Georgia, tickets paid in advance too, sad because we have money in our account avail on our bank debit card. End of story, can't find a rental van any place, and our little get away which was so well planned was a no go, thanks Alamo for not telling us this before plans were made, and I will never do business with you ever again

We rented a car w Alamo on July 13. We were are turned the car on July 20, I had left my Movado watch in the cup holder. I have reached out to multiple people through Alamo and have been told there is nothing that can be done. That Alamo only hires reliable trust worthy people, well if that was the case I would not be needing to write this. We will never rent a car again through Alamo or any of its subsidiaries.

Tried to cancel our reservation with Alamo was unable to. Trip was booked through Allegiant with car rental.Tried to cancel several times on different days was unable to get it done. Emailed Allegiant several days prior to departure date assured it would be refunded with travel voucher didn't happen . Confirmation #
1515495935. Did get through today was able to get it canceled but couldn't get rental car refunded because it is now past departure date! Any help would be appreciated...

My wife and I recently rented a car from Alamo at the Pensacola Airport. Our experience was EXCEPTIONAL! The Alamo Branch Rental Manger, Mark Hermecz exudes the epitome of fantastic customer service. The preference for choosing Alamo at PNS was clearly obvious when we returned our vehicle as there was a lengthy line of customers returning their vehicle to your operation. Your competitor's return lines were essentially non-existent.

We will definitely favor Alamo in the future in the hopes your other locations are equally customer focused. Mark deserves accolades for his Management style and his leading by example.

I have never experienced such horrible customer service. I rented and paid for a FULL size car for my son who was going to a Wedding. When he picked up the car there were only two options. A mustang and a pick up truck. He had a hard time putting his luggage in the vehicle and due to a back injury was a tight squeeze. I called customer service and they offered to exchange cars on his way in New Haven CT. When he got there, there was only a van available after they guaranteed a full size car was there and waiting for him. You can't complain to corporate because the B..ch that answers the phone transfers you before you stop talking. Alamo is not Enterprise which I normally use. Stay away from Alamo because you won't get what you ask for and paid for. It's been hours since I formally complained and no word from district manager.

I have been renting rentals during business trips never have I experienced such incompetence. Waited 5 hours for tow after car overheated. Called them and was told they were unable to exchange the car without me driving in the tow truck for more than 100 miles to that office. I called them again and they said they dispatched a tow. I called the tow company 1/12 hrs later and they said they never received the call. The car was on the NJ. Turnpike and they never came to pick it up. Finally state turnpike authority came and took the car and myself to the airport. Unbelievable. This is real

Terrible headache and people who are a part of this company. Terrible experience in Chicago LaSalle St. Rude, wouldn't honor 20% discount for seniors as advertised in webpage,reason went with them! False advertising. When told staff and ngt brushed us off and kept passing the buck.

At the MGM location for Alamo car rental,Ms. Abbie Batson did not honor or attempt to assist in the servicing of my confirmed Hotwire reservation,and Alamo confirmation on 4/22/17,6pm She is attempting to HIDE behind the third party claus.Stating that Hotwire continue to take reservations and confirm them even when the rental agency dont have any cars.Caring less if the rental agency it self has confirmed the reservation.Ms.Abbie Batson needs to E-mail or send me a letter of APOLOGY and Alamo needs to restore my confidence in their servises.

I rented an Alamo Ecomony car at RSW for 3 days on Oct 29.
The counter agent tried repeatedly to upswell me a larger car, at one point telling me the ecomony car I rented was not much better than a "tin can". I refused, and when I got to the lot, there Were NO ecomony card left, and I had to take a compact.
I rent cars over 100 days a year and NEVER have had an agent try to upswell me when the car I booked was not available- they have always offered a "free upgrade" which builds customer loyalty. I would have been very angry had I paid for an upgrade unnecessarily.

Was charged thru hotwire.com where we booked a car for pick up in Denver CO, then when we received our ccard bill , the charge was on there Two times from Alamo! No call back from customer service as we've been promised.

Through Hotwire, we made advance reservations for a car at Alamo to be picked up at the Myrtle Beach airport this past Friday.Upon arrival we were told there were no cars for us. We waited 3 hours along with many other people for a car. They blamed the missing cars on the hurricane from the previous week and that much was understandable.. however, I can't believe that in this age of communication, we were not contacted ahead of time to allow us to make other plans. We travel often, and we will never use Alamo again.

I prepaid for a rental car through travelocity, to be picked up in Reno, Nevada. When I arrived I was told they did not have any cars available. I had to rent a car from another agency to complete my trip. I will never rent from you again, and will give you all the free advertisement I can.

We rented a car from Alamo in August 2016, and upgraded to a bigger car when we picked it up. We loaded the car with my son's college items and set off for Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL. The first night, the car starting to shimmy and shake and the "check engine" light went on. We called Alamo and were told to drive it to the Melbourne Airport and pick up a new car. We explained that it seemed very unsafe to drive and was told "well, if we come to you, there will be a charge". So we drove it, very upset and worried, to the airport. Because the vehicle was packed with my son's belongings, as he was to check into Florida Institute of Technology today as a freshman student, we had to unpack the inoperable vehicle and repack into a new vehicle. This was my first experience with Alamo, as we normally use Budget Rent A Car. I immediately wrote an email to customer service about this situation. The Regional Manager called me that same night and apologized for the problem. He told me I would get one day's rental credited to my account when I turned the car in. When I returned the car, no credit was given to me. I again emailed customer service, but my email was ignored. I then emailed Christine Taylor-Broughton, Senior VP of North American Operations. Never heard from her. So I emailed Pamela Nicholson, CEO of Alamo. Never heard from her. So I wrote a "real letter" to Andrew Taylor, Executive Chairman of Alamo's parent company, and attached all other correspondence. Never heard from him. As far as I am concerned, Alamo is a company who cares little about their customers and refuses to honor their commitments and promises. I'd never go near this company again, and I have told every person I can...and posted information everywhere possible...about this shoddy treatment.

We rented in LA 2 weeks ago.
We waited then was given a car that wasn't clean. There was only 1 person managing the flow of cars. When we pointed this out he had us wait another 20 minutes. When we did get the car, no one showed us the features and was just rushed out of the lot. Poor service, no niceties, and overall bad experience.

My experience with Alamo was great! Always is. I rented a car 1/1/24 at Nashville TN airport and everything went great! Dave got the car and was very nice friendly and explained everything in detail!!!

Janet at the San Francisco airport made the whole rental experience very positive. She went above and beyond call of duty to ensure we got the retal car that fit our family need.

I highly recommend Alamo because of her exceptional service. I have mostly used National car rental but decided to try alamo. Going forward, I will use Alamo again and again.

I rented a vehicle in North Carolina for my trip to compete in an endurance event. I was greeted with a friendly staff. They were nice and helpful. The price was reasonable, and affordable. The SUV had plenty of space, and had nice features. It also had a good range for miles. When I returned the vehicle, Trey was there to greet me with a smile. He took great care of me, and sought to see that my experience was great. The return was fast and smooth. I was able to catch the shuttle right away, as the bus driver saw me heading towards them. I loved Alamo and will be renting from them in the future! Thanks!

I am shocked at the negative reviews- for the past 2 trips, we have nothing but outstanding service. At Sea-Tac airport, in early August a young man name Phil helped us coordinate and sync our phone with the car GPS- he was very understanding and patient. The car was clean, worked well and upon returning the car in the dark hours of the early morning,(Portland) the agent was so pleasant and professional.

I rented a vehicle for the period 4/24/23-4/26/23 at Alamo Car Rental located at Fresno- Yosemite Airport and wanted to commend two of your employees for the excellent help they were to me ( and my medical service dog). They also gave me directions since they knew I was unfamiliar with the area. I just know their first names but I used to hire quite a few people in my career and in today's work force it's hard to find employees who go out of their way to help. Rented from Alamo at Atlanta International Airport. We had Reshea Cheeks as our return Customer Service Agent and she was wonderful. Positive, helpful and knowledgeable. Greeted us all and helped with our airport questions and baggage. Great employee, especially at 6am in the morning.

We rented a car at the Minneapolis airport on September 15th, 2022 and were greeted by representative John Williams. He was extremely helpful and pleasant. He even helped me load our luggage into the car while we waited on my husband. Provided us with a nice, clean SUV also. Thank you John!

Personal care story ! This employee MUST be recognized !!! Place and time was at Alamo RAC counter at the Tampa International Airport on February 21st. at approximately 11:00 pm. Employees name was Colleen ! Recently retired from California and flew in to make Lakeland Florida my new home! Absolutely exhausted and very emotional! Had difficulty with my original car rental counter next door when I walked up to the Alamo counter. I'm 62 and was emotionally drained at this point and Colleen could see that. As I turned away from her counter in tears, I found a comfortable sitting spot next to the counter lobby area. Since there were no other customers at the time, as soon as I sat down in flowing tears, there was Colleen sitting next to me!!! She tried to comfort me, asked me if she could help !! After hearing my emotional story, she promised me she would help me get through this and on the road as soon as possible! She took my phone and worked her magic and booked me a car within minutes!! Who does this?? Obviously your employee Colleen does !!! She was so caring and comforting!! I can't thank her enough !!! DO NOT LOSE HER AS AN EMPLOYEE !! Here I go crying again as I type this out !! Please.........please find time to recognize her however you wish too ! She was absolutely wonderful !!!

I cannot thank her enough !!! Please let her know how much I appreciated her that night !! She went above and beyond !!!

I rarely write these comments/reviews, but felt the need to in this case. I might add that comment options should be included on your main site as it was hard to find a place to even leave a comment.
I recently traveled to Fl. on vacation and landed at the Clearwater/StPete terminal.
I was in line to get my rental car when I met Andrew in customer service. He was running the kiosk when he asked if he could help me.
Unlike previous experiences with car rentals, which included being pushed into a vehicle or service that I didn't want, Andrew was polite, helpful, and a joy to work with. I have managed people in customer service for 24 years and it is nice to see an individual like Andrew. His great attitude and customer service skills will bring you additional business. His personality is upbeat and fun, and he is more than willing to help the customers. I certainly hope that you appreciate what he brings to your company.
This employee should be a trainer for other employees.

I can say that I will rent from Alamo again because of Andrew and am hopeful that we have a similar experience on our next vacation.
