I certainly hope these reading glasses I purchased are swapped out. They are scratched. I never would have thought to check for scratches prior to making the purchase. They are packaged in such a way that the lenses are not easily inspected.

Spent 2 hours trying to talk to multiple service reps, they provided absolutely nothing besides excuses why they couldn't do ANYTHING. Went to the physical store and resolved my issue. The store called the service dept and had the same issues. Absolutely horrible service.

I tried to stop and employee to pay for a deodorant stick, he kept walking, the ass, manager said he will pay for it tomorrow, tomorrow never came, he is the son of the store manager, this behavior has been going on for months, he eats at the registers, without paying, he walks the store as if it is his smorgasbord. Location gunbarrel road Chattanooga TN.

Went to the bedford store today and went down an aisle with 50% off signs with all the leftover summer yard stuff. Sign showed a list of what all the prices would ring up as sign nothing had clearance stickers on it. Get up to the register and she says not 50 off. So the other girl ran back to the aisle and it says on select items only. It's clearly yard stuff for 50 off! The whole aisle had signs and it was not just dumped there by accident. Your store should honor that!! Didn't end up buying the yard lights we wanted. Y'all lost a sale

We got at big lots at 8:30pm on 6/24/2023. As soon as we walked into the store a male customer service associate told us he just wanted to remind us that we have less than 30 minutes until the store closed. I told him thank you and I do have my cell phone out right now so that I can monitor our time. 3 minutes passed and same guy came by and told us we have less than 25 minutes before the store closes. Every 3 minutes the same guy came by to tell us how many minutes we had until the store closes. I had two of my grandchildren with me and they stayed by my side the whole time we were in the store. They were 13 and 10: both of them told me that they were getting very uncomfortable because the guy kept getting more rude in his tone of voice each 3 minute interval. By the time he came by for our 6 minute warning and said we had less than 5 minutes before the store closed, I was getting very uncomfortable by his rudeness. I said 'Sir I have told you since we got here that I have my cell phone out to monitor the time and I will leave before the store closes.'he continued to say we close in 4 minutes. Thank you for the wonderful shopping experience and I told my grandchildren that we were leaving now . Another much nicer employee told us to have a good evening. I said thank you and I wish we could have had a good shopping experience but the rude gentleman kept following us around to let us know very rudely how many minutes we had until store closing very rudely and that I felt very uncomfortable. This was at the Lafayette, IN Big Lits store. The customer service guy was fairly tall with dark brown hair, sticky build and had a short beard and wore glasses. We have never been treated so rudely by an employee there before.

I ordered furniture with next day delivery and they placed a hold on my card. Never received my furniture or my money every time I call they say they will have someone call it takes 3-5 business days to release the funds on hold. This was on June 10 we are about a week out. I will never shop or will tell anyone. They are scams aren't trying to give me my money I've called all week like really.

On Sept 19, 2022. I purchased a Broyhill living room suit. The sales clerk went thru the long spill of how Big Lots had purchased Broyhill, and how I should really consider the purchase plan protection. Considering the couch, and 2 two recliners were electric and it had moving gears. I told him I didn't want to have to deal with a manufacturer. He reassured me I wouldn't.that just like I went in the store and, purchased the furniture. They would have in stock. And, if not they could order me an replacement. All I had to do was bring it back. I have been a long time customer So he convinced me no worries. I made the purchase to the tune of $2906. 03. On May 19, 2022 I had fell asleep in the reclined position. When I woke up, I simply extended my arms over my head to yawn, and the back collapsed. Apparently, the support bar in the back of the chair snapped. But, no worries, so we loaded it up, and took it back to the store. And, then we're told the guy was no longer there. And, we would have to contact Allstate. So we did that. They denied the claim, stating it was still under the manufactures warrenty. I looked up Broyhill. They said the could not help that there is no Broyhill Manfacturing number. That Big Lots purchased the Broyhill label. And, purchases from various manufacturing companies,and then puts Broyhill's name on it. I have had this furniture for 8 months. I am very upset to say thr least. I can not believe. That you do not back your products. That you refuse to do the right thing. Because, obviously I am not the only one having issues. Your purchase protection plan is worthless.I paid $279.
97 for the coverage. I am requesting your assistance.I need the chair replaced. Which, you have instock because, you running it in you Labor Day sales advertisement.
And, also I want a full refund $279.97 for the protection plan.s Since this is to be covered under the manufacture warrenty. And, I feel quite sure it will be no use to me in the futute. I feel this is a prime example of false advertisement. I would prefer for your company to do the right, and stand behind your products. However, if I can't get any satisfaction. I do not have any problem contacting the Federal Trade Commission,the Better Business Bureau, and I will take this to small claims court. I also, will go to facebook and any other media sites to get my point across.It is apparent, that I am not the only one that has been mislead, and left hanging out to dry. You would think yout reputation would mean much more to you.

How is it right that a manager of a store can't help out with other workers and customers of need and pick and choose what he wants to do if he feels like doing it as a ex worker from another business he was the same way he isn't really a manager he needs to step up and do what he needs to do he doesn't even go out one the floor and help out customer's with assistance someone needs to check up one thing's

I purchased a recliner and bought the 3 year extended warranty. 1 year later the chair was breaking. I had to call 6 times spending hours on the phone trying to get a copy of my receipt. I was told multiple times the back office would send me an email in 1 to 2 days. Nothing! The store reps and customer service give conflicting answers about its policy. Extremely frustrating.

Horrible customer service! I placed an online order for Weehawken, NJ with same day delivery, which should've arrived by 5pm. Keep in mind I paid for the same day delivery. At almost 6 pm I reached out to the store as i did not receive the order nor a message. They told me I won't get the deliver today because they don't have enough people in order to fulfill it. When I asked when I'll receive my order they just told me they can't tell for sure. Which I thought was very rude. However, I received the order the next day but items were missing. So, reached out to cst service and they told me I had to call the store. After numerous calls between store and cst service I received a Mastercard with $10 credit. Unfortunately, I couldn't use it since you have to chose one payment method online. And once again, had to send an email to cst service and asked for the money to be refunded to the original payment method or change to store credit, so that I'll be able to use it. They asked for some info and once again after few email back and forth, Guess what, they didn't! Instead they told me to call their hotline! I was so upset and after all the time I've already invested, I told them to keep the damn $10 and I'm done with BigLots! In my whole life I never dealt with such a horrible company!!! Do yourself a favor and do not order from them!!!!

This company is the worst company I've ever had to deal with with anything getting furniture I paid for let alone they broke my back window out and it's been 2 1/2 months since anything and I call everyday and it's still a run around

I go to the store on Cora way se 27th Ave. Usually after work. Won't even try the weekend. There's always 1 or 2 registers open and a line of 15 customers. I heard daytime they have like 4-5 registers and no line. This is insane. There also a lack of carts, I had to use my baby's stroller today. Someone needs to pay attention to this matter cus I'm avoiding the store unless I have a day off.

I called customer service because I was given only half of what I paid for. The store flat out refused to give me the rest of my order. When I contacted customer service they tried giving me the run around and didn't even want the screenshot I took proving what I had ordered online. If Big Lots isn't willing to follow through with orders people have already paid for, then why do they have the option to order online in the first place? What happened is considered false advertisement and not ok. If there was a mess up in what was put online, that's not my problem, and my WHOLE order that I PAID FOR should be honored regardless. (I didn't rate cancelation/return because I just want the rest of my paid for order. If however, I can't get it, then yes I will most definitely be asking for a refund)

Went to store in arlington texas at green oaks today. Needed a storage tote. Had tote no lid asked girls at front for lid. Was told if not there someone probably took it. Didn't care or offer to go check in back. The shelves were a mess. Lids all over the place and not with the buckets. Other merchandise scattered back there that didn't belong. Looks like this manager doesn't care how sloppy the store is or how the staff doesn't really care. Where is the customer service. Get paid for nothing.

I am extremely upset we purchased a summer wave 16 ft pool on Saturday 7/30/22 for my granchildren 2 and 10 to be able to enjoy we filled it with water and they was able to use it 1 time came home from work to find the pool busted at its seams. I tried to contact the store to let them know what had happened and was put on everlasting hold to speak to a Manager. Then tried to call back numerous times where my call was left unanswered. My granchildren are upset and I am trying to remedy this situation but to no avail. I find it ridiculous that this huge chain treats their customers this way.

First of all I ordered a couch & love seat from the griffin store. Paid for it & for delivery. Then after 5 hours get a call from a very unprofessional, rude, idiot lady from the griffin store saying the love seat is damaged & it's beyond repair. So she is going to refund me my money back. That she thinks there is one in stockbridge, ga. But she can't call or look on computer to look. Just keep saying do you want couch ir not I have stuff to do!!! I was trying to explain to my husband what was going on as she is screaming this!! She was just like I don't know, I don't know how it works, I don't know what we have!! Do you want couch!!! The last nky reason I even gave this dumb girl & company my money is we had already gotten rid of our old couch & love seat because they said it was in stock & gonna be delivered & we needed something to sit on. Mainly my day gs, but damn it's not worthy for my dogs either!!! She is incompetent. She said That I will have to go on web site & call to see if they have it.! Called stockbridge & yes they have it in stock, told them please hold & I will pay for it on line & have it delivered from the same guy that is going to deliver coach. Oh but you have to pay another delivery fee & the love seat is higher to be delivered. Well thank k, so I order & paid for it.the coach was delivered. Nice couch I really liked it. But the arm in the left side is broke me!!!!! Waited & waited from love seat to be delivered. Never heard anything from no one. Husband checked email & oh guess what it was canceled no reason!!! We waited for 4 hours & the idiot could not even let you know what is going n!!
I will NEVER order anything from these incompetent ? me at these big lit stores very rude & do not care about you or there jobs! Unprofessional & will tell you to go to hell in a nut shell. Never again! No wonder why they are called big lots.... trailer trash employees & discounted pieces of crap furniture, 2nds just like their employees. Need employees that care & try to help. Not just say I don't know, you do it... & I don't care!! Worst customer service & just pure idiot employees!!! 2 orders & they still couldn't get it right!!

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to inform you of my disappointment regarding the customer service I received today while visiting your flagship store in Alhambra. Your store manager Tomasa made the visit a negative experience.
The reason for my visit was to purchase a fire pit which I had inquired a day before but I was asked by one of your associates to come back the next day to speak to the manager because he was not sure if he could combine my rewards with a coupon on a already markdown item.
I requested to speak to the manager and I all I heard was a very grumpy person speaking down to the employee. Unfortunately, the employee informed me that this would not be possible because the manager was busy.

I asked another manager and he confirmed that it would be the manager that had the final decision. Tomasa finally came out but she was very aggressive and making allegations that I was disrespectful to the person I had initially inquired about the item. I tried to reason with her to no avail.

I finally left the store as it was clear that the manager had no intention of trying to find an amicable and fair solution to the problem.
Therefore, I would like to request that you look into this matter promptly as I feel that the poor quality of service provided does not reflect well on your brand or your promise to consumers regarding your friendliness or honoring the coupons you send to us via email.

I visited your Canton Ohio sore today. They were very helpful and friendly way better than your new Philadelphia Ohio store, which was a little rude, but the real reason I'm commenting today is that speaking of disability I think you would increase more business if you added scooters with carts at your stores in Ohio, it would help out the disability community and they could shop there more comfortably

The Big Lots store #1181 that I frequent is located in Newburgh, NY. I always have a wonderful experience at the store and with the friendly workers. Phillip should have been fired a long time ago. He treats employees terrible. Yells at them (in front of customers) talks down to them. Other representatives are fabulous. Most of them have been at our store for a long time in Bartlesville ok. Manager is just unwilling to help and hateful if he has to along with how he treats his employees.

I recently shopped at your "LAKE JACKSON,TEXAS"location in the Month's of Jan.28th.2021-Feb.4th.2021,and from the time that I walked in the door I was GREETED and TREATED in such a PROFESSIONAL manner that it was just overwhelmingly refreshing!Not only were the EMPLOYEES professional but the MANAGER (JOHN) was absolutely FANTASTIC! He made our experience so wonderful that I ended up spending approx.$3,000.00 in his store,and came back a few day's later and spent another $300.00! We were so pleased with "JOHN", he absolutely bent over backward's in his endeavor's to not only keep all of his other customer's happy but us as well,it was WONDERFUL to see an employee (JOHN) to work to make his customers happy like he did.I will DEFINITELY be back to shop in his store VERY SOON !

I would like to take this opportunity to say that I have been treated with complete satisfaction today 5/4/16. I purchased approximately $800 worth of patio furniture last week and put it on pbnt. The weather here hasn't cooperated lately and I kept putting the pick up of my purchase off. I called several times asking to keep holding my items, and not once did I get any problem from Charles or yevett.They assured me that it was OK and that I could pick it up when I was ready. Today I went to pick up the items and Charles and Yevett were extremely helpful and very understanding. Charles helped me put the items in my car and was very pleasant to deal with. Thank you to the both of them and keep up the good work. Very satisfied customer.

I went to The West Sacramento store and my cashierwas Diana and the manager was Sean , I had to wait for my boss to come pay for my things and while I was waiting Sean got me a basket and more then once asked if I needed help with anything Diana was a very present cashier they made my shopping very comfortable and I will be a forever customer. I drove there today just to tell them what a amazing job they both have done. I will go to the West Sacramento Big Lots for ever. And the funny thing is I just moved across town but I appreciated them both so much I will make the drive to go to that store thank you both so much Sean & Diana

Store 4001 in Riverside California is awesome trish and Angel you are examples of customer service I am disable for about eight months and every time I come they are always helping me and that's awesome for me I tried and tell everybody about that big Lots kudos to the district manager hope you let your people know how important they are with a visit and let them know in person God bless you

your store # 4508 in Scottsdale is the best shopping experience!!!
Everybody is nice and helpful. Marie is the store manager and she is great with her employees and does everything and is very hands on and always friendly. Theresa customer service is a jewel too and always friendly and so helpful.
it is a very busy store but customer service is the first priority.

I hate how every time you go there you can not find the same products.I notice this a lot with food items.Also you have to watch expiration dates closely because a lot of times they are expired or very close to it.This store needs to be more reliable like Walmart.And it's out dated how they put a sticker on every product.And as far as I can tell the shoppers card does nothing.

4/11/15 - I had the greatest shopping experience ever, the furniture sales associate greeted me as soon as stepped into the area & told me that her name was Tracy & to give her a yell if I needed her. I was looking for a step stool so I asked Tracy to point me in the direction & she said no I,m going to take u to them because we might get over there & they,be been moved, sure enough they were not there so Tracy said let's try one more location because we're always changing things around. So she took me to the isle where the brooms were but there wasn't any there either. So, she turned to me & said I'm sorry we're sold out but let me be for sure an ask my manager & to the service desk we went & she asked the manager & cashier. Both, said that they were out of stock & Tracy told me to check back because its possible that some might come on the next truck. And I said I sure will and you get an A+ for being so great & caring!!

The manager(s) at the store located in Beaufort, SC are really under appreciated and I don't think that is ok. They are over worked, especially the Store Leader. I am surprised you have kept him this long. He's amazing at his job and works 7 days a week way more than he should. I understand stores are short staff but that is no reason to run people down, mentally and physically.

I have been with big lots for almost 24 years and I would love to see you all give your associates. Thanksgiving day off two days a year is all we ask thanksgiving and Christmas we have families. Just as you all do I love my job and the years should prove that I love my co associates and my coutomers. Years ago we closed at 6 pm on holidays what happened to that and now in my district we are open till midnight do you not know how dangerous that is. I know this is going right out the window with you all because I'm only one person but at least go back to closing at 6 pm. On holidays and Sundays. Every district is differemt take a good look at sales after certain time. In different areas as you all sit down with your families on holidays think about us. Not getting to spend that same holiday with our families. I sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. I'm just taking a chance some one will listen.

Hello, I am a former sales associate/stocker with Big Lots and I'm very angry. I had just recently handed in my two week notice to my manager on a Saturday afternoon and was not given the new schedule for that week. No one had called me and told me I was supposed to work or told me I was just straight up fired. The day after I turned in my two week notice, I was taken off the schedule completely without any calls from the manager or assistant manager. Which not only made me furious because I needed those two weeks, but also confused because I had no Idea why I wasn't on the schedule anymore. If anyone has an email or phone number for the corporate office, I would very much appreciate it.

Worst company that I have ever worked for in my entire life. all of the buffalo locations have issues like racism, equality, moody employees, under appreciated employees, bad management, and a racist way of looking at things like this so called Jennifer, she is suppose to represent all of biglots customers, I hate to break it to u but not all of their customers are white and fat! so maybe corporate should look into it and start hanging up pics of other ethnic backgrounds/south Ogden, Delaware ave and all other locations.

Do the math someone. Go around buffalo to the Biglots stores tell me how many people u see there that are white, then count how many other employees are African American, Muslim, Chinese, etc... I bet you will find that there is all white workers with one other worker from a different ethnic background. I am not a white man but I sound it on the phone, it took these guys 6months to get a hold me and once I had my interview it took another month for them to consider me... wow I guess they had to be sure that the other African AMERICAN GUY WAS DONE WITH THE JOB!

I am a employee and the mangers I have Nicholas and Pam are the rudest people I ever met they cut customers off from talking they never let them finish the walk around with attitudes Nicholas smells like cigarettes
And to top it off they belittle there employees in front of the customers when none of us was properly trained

I worked there awhile. And that is the dirtiest place I ever seen. Employee don't wash there hands after using the rest room. the employees are very rude to customers and the manager and asst managers are the rudest of all. All they want is to people to leave them alone so they can sit in there office and eat and do whatever they want to do. Doesn't care how store is run.they care about is them selfs. Me personally will never step foot back in there and I will spread the word everywhere for people to stay out of the big lots in Henderson nc 27536 on dabney drive.They leave there stock laying all over the floor and to me that is a very big hazard for customers. They could easly fall. BIG LOTS IS A BIG JOKE!!!!!

I am a former employee of big lots. I worked for 2 happy years at the Wyoming, Michigan location without any problem with any mgr or employee. I moved to Arizona and transferred to the Ina Rd and Thornnydale location. Within 5 weeks I learned that this must be the most miserable place on earth to work. The store manager Elaine is completely out of her mind. She is without a doubt the most miserable and out of touch person I have ever worked for. I have no idea how a successful store such as this would actually let someone like her manage anything as important as a store. I was so unhappy at this store that I actually walked out on my shift, which is something I have never done before. I am we'll aware that not all big lots are this way. I had 2 happy years in Michigan with this company. I would just like to point out to anyone in Arizona, the big lots location on Ina Rd and Thornnydale is not the place for you. Elaine will do her best to make your time there miserable. Once again don't be taken in by Elaine and her false sense of leadership. She is merely the devil in blue jeans and a big lot shirt.

Hello my name is Rosemary Carrillo, my son Joseph Cavazos worked for your Salinas, CA store at one point. He is no longer employed since 01/05/2013 When he was employed he helped the San Jose, CA store and was supposed to be paid the mileage (135 miles). To this day he has yet to get paid and no one in this store knows how to conduct professional corporate business. This is why I would greatly appreciate if someone will please contact us atimmediately. If we do not hear back by Friday, 03/08/2013 we will be forced to contact the CA Labor board and report that Big Lots is not abiding by the law in paying out the ex-employees on their last day of employment.I would also like to add that someone in this store forged my son's signature on the invoice provided to him for the mileage (this is against the law, especially when noted on the invoice "Employee Signature").

Store 478 got a woman manager after the good guy retired, she doesnt care about her employees, the only ones they get good pay and higher raises are her special pics that don't do nothing while the loyal employees work their hind ends off, for way less money. She talks about ALL of the employees, constantly stirs up things, and says DM won't do a thing to her cause she is pretty she should buy a mirror, she always pics on employees, and customers.

This is for your Loss prevention department. I work at store 4246 and have been at this store for 13 years. The best time of my employment was in 2003 to 2111 because were had a great manager, before him management was bad and after him what a joke this store has been and thanks to molly hall, mr. boas and a rude DM mike noyes. The problem is that are store manager name AJ gives her employee discount to all her friends. Isn't this against company policy. We have them call from different biglots to see if AJ is working so they can get her discount. It's time to clean up all your stores of these managers who cheat. We all know that AJ is a good friend of the DM. FIX THIS PROBLEM AND MAYBE THE COMPANY WILL SHOW A PROFIT. OR LET EVERY ASSOCIATE GIVE THERE DISCOUNT NUMBER TO EVERY ONE WHO SHOPS BIGLOTS. HIRE NEW DM'S AND THEY HIRE PEOPLE FROM THERE OLD EMPLOYMENT. THIS HAS TO STOP.

The way employees are spoken to with absolutely no respect is deplorable.Also have had about 10 customers comment on this in last 6 months alone.Some have made formal complaints but the higher up bossses don't seem to care as nothing is done to change it.Hours are cut more and more all the time if you do get 25 hrs most of the time it is dragged out over 5-6 days instead of 3/8 hr shifts so it costs more just to get back and forth to work.No incentives are given or regular raises.Meanwhile they keep hiring new people,quite often teenagers so that they won't give you enough hours to even kind of survive on.This is by far the worst company I have ever worked for and am only there out of desperation as ther is a high unemployment rate in our area.

Don't buy anything with a motor in it, because everything is remanufactured. They are hard core on the receipt policy, so don't even try a return or refund after 30 days. Furniture is bashed around the warehouse (I know because I worked in the DC!) so you're lucky if you get an undamaged piece. Food sits around for months and gets dusty- please don't buy the food there! Cosmetics and batteries are repackaged to hide the expiration dates and/or store origin (buyouts from drugstores). Staff is stressed by working crazy long hours or getting sent home early - no regular shifts or hours - so don't be shocked if they take your head off for yet another stupid question. Long hours, short staffed, stupid policies (try working at the corporate office with those babies all day!) all make for one long week in H-E - double hockey sticks.

the employees at store 5101 are really being crapped own. Our manager quit plus we dont have one now. And they dont make the schedule out where they work there parttime some own the weekends they usually make all the full time people work and they never get a weekend off. there is alot of things you could do with your family outside of the lots. Plus some us would like to go to church. Years ago when i came there to work i was parttime and they had me work weekends and sometimes when the hours was short i didnt get to work at all. And now they started wanting to know how much you do at night and they started counting tickets again. How are you going to get your tickets when certain people think they should just price and the rest of you put out. Thats not fair. Plus if your cashiering you need to overlap schedules where the person that comes in frist will be able to have a potty break since none of our employes get. They dont hardly get to take a 15 minute break becasue the manger dont give them one.We need help at our store with someone showing them how to make a schedule to where we could all live in peace and harmony at work. Because right now we are all disgusted about the conditions at store 5101. Concerned employee

Big Lots sucks and they treat employees terrible. I worked there for years and was never treated so badly by anyone as I was there. I know of at least 25 good employees that have been treated so unfairly almost illegal and they get away with it. They must all be proud to work for a cheap ass company that bullies people.
