I received a Blockbuster free trial with my Dish Network sign up. I wanted to use the mail DVD's. I got 5 movies in 3 months, sometime none for weeks and never quicker than a week. Netflix gets to me in 2 days and never a problem. Blockbuster is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!

Been a member for over 8 years. Suddenly all new movies get marked as Very High Demand or High demand. I have 9 movies in queue and they are all newer movies listed as Very High Demand, High Demand, or Unavailable? I have not received a dvd since Dec 22, 2012. This is ridiculous. I may need to look into netflix soon.

I ordered a PS3 game for my son on 20th Dec'12 Online.13 days since the order placed I still have not received it, the attitude of the customers services is unhelpful. I regret relying on them for a Christmas present and feel sorry for my child who is still awaiting that parcel.

at time this i signed up for 'service' had two closed stores (according to corporate online service they were open--communications problem:ya think???) for 'unlimited' DVD through mail and in-store exchange. Here is the first FALLACY, a 1 for 1 exchange is NOT unlimited. on average each DVD has a 5 day turnaround. that equates to 6 DVDs a month. In my world 6 does not equate to unlimited. The 5 day turnaround is based an a 7 month tracking.
So the cust. serve part. hearing continual "i am sorry," does nothing fro the marketing lies.

Chat support is very poor. They could not resolve my issue which was due to Blockbuster error. They do not provide transcripts. Same problem w/ email customer service. The agent on the phone was able to resolve the issue. I am glas I could find the phone number here.

I recently purchased 8 pre-owned games from blockbuster.co.uk.
The ad i was sent stated that it was an offer for 4 xbox or ps3 games for £20 so i thought cool as it had also stated that if i signed up as a vip gamer i would get an extra £5 off my first order.
Anyway signed up selected the games that i wanted as xmas presents for my sons and then went to checkout only to be told that i couldn't use my £5 voucher as i had already had an offer that was the 4 for £20 which i found to be really shady and not as already stated in the email ad that i had received,very misleading indeed.
Anyway still ordered as it was free delivery and the games still worked out slightly cheaper than from game.co.uk and it also stated that my disks would be dispatched within 48 hours and if it would take longer that they would let me know via email.
It is now 2 weeks later,i have had no emails to explain lateness,no replies to my complaint emails,only 5 disks out of 8 have arrived and 2 of them are really badly scratched and need to be returned,one disk honestly looked like it had bogeys and sweet jism of some kind on it but this cleaned away with a good antibacterial wipe!!!
This was my first order from them and i buy a lot of games over a year,it will also be my last ever order from them.
I will never,ever buy from them again,one more lost cash cow for them i guess.
I couldn't believe all of the negative comments about them i found here and i had an image of them in my mind of being a good company :(
Anyway to sum up if they hadn't of ignored my complaint emails i would never have written this report here as i know mistakes happen and staff do things wrong but bad complaint handling is the end of a bad road that leaves only bitterness.
My advice to all consumers would be to stick to Game or Amazon and avoid blonkbuster like the plague,truly crap!!!

Keep getting damaged blu ray disks lately. This service is really deteriorating fast. Web site is also ridiculously slow.

I got a gift card for Christmas when went to try to use it appears it wasn't activated. I called customer service they had no explanation as to why it wasn't activated and did not help me at all. Way to go customer service. They should activate it and make it right but they just laid blame on everyone else. No wonder the stores went out of business what joke!!!!

sent mw3 game to get cleaned because it had a couple of scratches on it and missed out 2 of the map's still played was just missing the maps but when i got the disc back it was worse than it was when i sent it for the clean now it take's me 45min just to get the game to load don't get me wrong when the game loads i have the 2 maps back that would not play in the 1st place but 45min wait just to load a game is a joke i would not recommend that any 1 gets a disc repair done by blockbuster as i lost out thought the disc repair was meant to make things better not worse.

I am suppose to get two movies at a time. I return them at the same time by mail, but only 'one' gets taken off my at home movies. Tried calling and get the same crap everytime, plus I cannot understand them. So I try emailing and thats a friggin joke. My emails never 'submit'. The little submit wheel just keeps on spinning for hours. So basically I'm paying for two movies at a time and I'm only getting one a week. Pretty close to cancelling this whole mess. It sucks.

TWO DAYS IN A ROW. I GO TO THE ROLLA, MO STORE AN HOUR AFTER IT SUPPOSED TO BE OPENED AND I CAN'T RENT A MOVIE. THE FIRST DAY THE LIGHTS ARE OFF AND NOONE IS THERE. THE SECOND DAY THEY SAY THE SYSTEM IS DOWN. HOW CAN THE SYSTEM BE DOWN AFTER AN HOUR OF OPENING. I AM NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE RUN THE STORE BUT TODAY I RENTED MY FIRST MOVIE FROM FAMILY VIDEO DOWN THE STREET AND THAT'S WHERE I'M GOING FROM NOW ON.

Well,here we go again with Blockbuster,I have spent hundreds of pounds in my local store buying 2 brand new xboxs and a new ps3 and various other peripherals and yet I am astonished at the lack of respect and professionalism from them,by no means am I expecting preferential treatment for my services but i want what I think is a basic conduct. I bought 2 pre-owned games from there recently only to find out when I get home the box and cover had a hole smashed through it which they had conveniently placed their buy or rent sticker over.I then open the other game to find that the manual was missing! I know this may seem trivial to some but I collect my games and want to purchase them in good order ....Not mugged of with shabby goods dishonestly packed and not informed of the games poor condition.This is a basic code of conduct as far as I concerned.

Subject: problems, many problems

I am truly pissed off at you people. I have had MANY problems with the mail-back service lately. And recently, I have had to report that more than 5 days passed and the next DVD had not arrived in the mail. I would check online, and it had still not even been processed, much less shipped out. Recently this has happened several times. The most recent DVD was damaged on the back. When I reported it online so that a replacement of the SAME disc could be sent out, I was told that I have reported too many problems lately, and therefore the next disc isn't being sent until you receive the damaged one back. The problems have not been MY fault, they have been YOURS, but you are punishing me for them! I was also told that in order to get the one that is damaged I have to put it back in my Queue. Well, I can't do that because it is part of a series, and that series is already in my Queue! I have been a Blockbuster customer for a long time, and I really don't like the lousy service that I have gotten lately, including an implication that I am abusing your system when all of my disc problems have been YOUR fault. That is simply unbelievable.
I actually tried to send the above message via your 24/7 email process, but the on-screen timer just went around and around, until the computer went to sleep. I tried 3 times and then gave up. We are now going with Netflix Internet streaming (we finally bought a "smart" TV) for $7.99 a month. No limit to the number of movies we can watch for that one small fee, and they are available as soon as we want to watch them. We used to love the combination of mail service and local rentals. But your lousy service and insults finally pushed us to look for a better alternative, and we found it in Netflix.

good Afternoon,

today on the 5.10.2012 at 3.32pm i called the blockbuster store at conder in canberra and i have never in my life experienced such lazy service.
i called in regards to a text message i had recieved earlier today at 2.55pm informing me that i had an overdue dvd
now i am quite certain that i had returned all dvds so therefore i called the conder blockbuster to find out what is going on.
at first i spoke to a young girl by the name of "maddie" who seemed very lost and very bland over the phone she said i had two accounts under my name and then changed her mind and then she started reading out my fees which i was not after at all! i then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and she informed that there wasnt one present...WHAT KIND OF STORE EMPLOYS SOMEONE WITH A WORK ETHIC SUCH AS THIS GIRL AND LEAVES HER UNSUPERVISED! the phone was handed over to someone else by the name of "marissa" i asked her if she was the superviser and she identified herself as "the oldest one here" ...so not only is there a clueless teenager unsupervised, there is an older woman thinking that age is more important over experience.
she told me the exact same thing as maddie did and i did not need to know that so i asked for the head office number which she didnt give me and said with great rudeness "you cant either call back at 6 when the supervisors here otherwise your stuck with me" honestly what kinda of service is this?

i have always up held a high respect for blockbuster however this is unacceptable! i have never had such rude and lazy service, if these two ladies are the representation of block buster then some action should definitely be taken!

There was a time that Blockbuster was awesome. Of xourse it helped that there was a store in my city, but now that they have closed hundreds of store fronts, that is less and less likely! Now however, Blockbuster simply said, it terrible! The mail service is slow ( and I mean the Blockbuster part) and when I called a girl read a script to me! I called again, same script!
Here is the full story. I went from Netflix to blockbuster to test things. Both had a Warehouse within an hour of my home. i tested the mail service to the blockbuster city and foudn that regular mail got to and from that location 95% of th etime over night..... OH but the plot thickens! Not my movies no no no ! When I called to complain I was told
a) we dont' work on Weekends
b) It was the MAIL NOT THEM
c) sometimes it takes a day or two to get the next in your Q out!
d) Do you have enough movies in your Q?

It was a joke. And it had steadily gotten worse not better!
Bottomline, unless you have a LOCAL blockbuster brick and Mortor store Dont waste your time. One of two things are very obvious
1) They are Throttling again to keep you from getting more movies than they want you to get....
2) They are back on the rocks yet again

One thing is certain, they do not live up to their promises

I have Made the online account whch should be 1 month free and it wasn't but this is not a point I have received and sending games back after few exchages I've send them two games back which after that they not receive it or they didnt note that They received it. Ok thats fine but when I ordred the next 2 games they send me a empty covers for the two games which I have sended these before. Anyway I tried sort it out but I have realized that there is no way to contact them. So I have take the holiday for paying so far because I cant cancel my tarrife. THIS BLOCKBUSTER IS A BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

Movie returned to store is still in queue after 3 MONTHS despite store manager confirmation of return. UNACCEPTABLE!! Have made over 10 phone calls and sent many emails but no fix. We are dealing with a bunch of idiots at Blockbuster. Why don't they hire people who can do the job ??

Worse customer service even encountered.

1) Their notification of a problem with a mailed movie is non existent. Check it out yourself from your queue.

2) Try their contact us by email form... Yup, again, does not work, simply spins a waiting icon. Tested from Macs and PCs to confirm poor quality control from Blockbuster.

I would like to say how disgusted and disappointed I am with one of the employees and the manager of the blockbuster shop in Countess-wells, Aberdeen. They were so rude and out of order and obviously don't know anything about customer relations. I have been a regular customer for seven years and their dealings with me was way out
of line. We will not be returning there again.

My son is a teenager. He worked very hard at a part-time job. He went to the BlockBuster on Touhy in Niles, which is going out of business. he spent $30.00 of his hard earned money to buy an XBOX game.When he got home he discovered the game was not playable. The people at the store were RUDE, and MEAN and laughed when asked to return the merchandise.. It is one thing to have an "all sales final", but it is another thing to steal from a teenager. Too bad they said, we can not check X BOX games to make sure they work! I give this store and the company a 0.There is clearly a reason they are going out of business.

I signed up for "Free" month-long trial. I returned DVDs to local store and then I cancelled at end of the free month. I received an email confirming the cancellation.
Blockbuster didn't erase the movie queue they'd had me set up, and sent another DVD after the cancellation. I took it back to the local store, unopened, and handed it to a clerk, explaining the situation. Now, about six weeks since the cancellation, I returned from a two week trip and went through a pile of mail, finding still another DVD from Blockbuster. I took it to the local store, unopened, and explained the situation to the clerk. She was not surprised, saying they must be behind back at the shipping area. She asked if I'd been charged and I said I had not (or so I thought). Then, returning home to my pile of mail, I found my Visa bill, showing a $16.08 charge from the day the cancellation was to have been effective. I called the number shown in the description area for the charge on the visa statement, and after a 20 minute call with a rep, Zan, that was difficult to understand, was told the best he could do was a half-refund. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor and that person, Johnny, refused to refund anything at all. He said my account had been reinstated (not by me!) and since I'd still been sent disks I should have known that was the case.
Obviously, I regret ever having dealt with a company that must rely on theft in order to stay in business.

For many years we enjoyed our Bexley Blockbuster store, but different people run their business differently. New people – new rules. When the new owners took over, the quality of the services became really bad and one day returning their CD I complained that my daughter and I could not even watch a movie, the CD was completely scratched. We left the store and in 10 min I had a phone call from a shop assistant saying that there was no CD in the pack, that I most probably left it in my car ( I don’t drive), or at home (?) etc. I tried to talk to him, but when he said, “Pay me $10 and I will fix it” I became really upset and refused to give him money. Silly me… In 5 months I received a letter stating that I owe the store more than $200. I went to talk with the owner, and you know what he said? “It is your word against mine… It is up to you what you are going to do but I will take you to court. “In a month I received another letter from the Debt collectors and then I realized that he will take me to court. What could I do? I am a single mother, sick with cancer, I have to fight for my life not for $150 which eventually I paid as the owner “kindly” reduced my debt. It happened just before Christmas, and obviously we could not buy the gifts that we wanted to give to each other. I have forgiven the man. I believe in God and I believe in His justice…
I was passing by the store a week ago. The store is closed; business hours are reduced to minimum…

Blockbuster is having some major problems lately. Getting the Que to clear previous movies and get your next one shipped is impossible. Paying $10 a month for maybe 2 movies has me considering canceling. I'm sure I'm not the only one. If Blockbuster doesn't fix these issues soon they may have very large number of people including me canceling the subscription. In the past I had Netflix but canceled do to the rate hike. Blockbuster online had been a great service in the past. Just lately is really not showing any signs of fixing these problems and that sucks.

I reported that a blu-ray would not play and got a popup "too many problems reported" along with a refusal to immediately replace it.

Since when are unplayable discs delivered through the mail by Blockbuster MY PROBLEM? On the rare occasions this has happened in the past, the replacement disc always played fine. Blu-rays are touchy and often don't play when scratched.
