Cable man came @ 8pm. Put in new box. Within 2 min. sound was gone. Called immediately. Given appt. for between 8 & 11am. Never came. Called again. No service call on the schedule for me. Now staying home AGAIN for the SECOND DAY until 8pm.Service rep was very sorry.Can't be angry with phone person,not his/her mistake.Who's mistake is it? Where is this person? No one knows. Cablevision charges $155 a month for this:
- internet service that is intermittant and requires the power source to be turned off and then on a minimum of once a day
- telephone service that, when the internet goes down, ceases immediately, even in the middle of a phone call, and stays dead (no dial tone, nothing!) for minutes at a time
- technicians that give you a different answer every time you try to remediate this problem. I had SIX DIFFERENT TECHS come to my house over the past four years and change the modem each time and NO ONE has been able tell me why my service sucks so bad. It is NOT my router.
- Customer service promises unfulfilled. I had a relationship manager come to my house to talk about this issue once and promised he'd be stop by two days later. Never seen or heard from him again.
- No NFL or MLB network. Get with the program already, Dolan, you friggin' thief!

When I think of Cablevision only one word comes to my mind... and that is "SUCKS".
We have been subscribers since 1995. Not my choice but because the corrupt managers of our building disallow any of the owners to put dishes out our windows so we are forced to have cablevision or nothing. What a sweet deal it must be they made together.
They never give us any free promotions, ripping us off for $156.13 a month for the same service you all are paying much less for. Recently, the bill jumped $5 and just put me into a frenzy. But I must say, I am sick of them and will not take it anymore. I have cancelled all their services, now I will get verizon high speed internet for $19.99 and its a debate between vonage which would cost $34 a month for the phone or try the magic jack for $40 . Anytime I want to watch something on TV, just have to do it at someone elses place. Unless its on the local channels. NO MORE $156.13 a month for you CABLEVISION , you dispicable corporation.james m. 1/6/10 10:41AM

I think this is horrible, I along with thousands of others look forward to watching these two stations, I would like to see these stations back by the end of the month or I will be changing to another company. Also, Cablevision does not even give us free movies on demand like Comcast and Verizon. Under the free catagories it is extremely limited. I would like to see movies under FREE ON DEMAND. I have been a customer for over 15 years. I just recently switched my phone and computer to Cablevision as well. I will be switching all three services to Fios if Food Network is not retunrd to the channel line up. Anonymous 1/4/10 4:17PM

Automated voice messaging service is terrible. I would press the appropriate number and it would not be recognized several times. Then, when a person finally picked up after several minutes of waiting, my requests were not bad. The movie I ordered was skipping and very fuzzy and I was not re-imbursed for the movie nor was anything offered. Anonymous 12/19/09 7:03PM

received an offer in the mail, offer's fine print showed i qualified. Called to redeem, offer, was told that i didn't qualify. Asked why and I was told that the offer was only for new customers. I asked where it said that (offer's fine print said it was for new & current customers with non-video or broadcast basic only, i only have inet & phoe, so that would be non-video, right?). I was just told that i wasn't a new customer. read the fine print to the rep, her supervisor, customer service, brought the flyer to a store for them to verify, faxed it to corporate and was still told that i didn't qualify because they only "meant" the offer for new customers (even thought it didn't say that :) ) After three weeks, no response and getting the run around everytime i've called. been a customer for 6+ years and now I realize that they totally suck. filing a complaint with BBB and NJ Office of Consumer Protection because they: made an offer they weren't going to honor and their efforts to "resolve" their mistake only included other services that would increase my monthly bill. Bad company, bad customer service and can't beleive they have an "F" with the BBB and they are still allowed to be the only cable company in my area. Anonymous 11/17/09 8:10PM

Cablevision does lie like the other person commented especially retention and the sales department. I was about to cancel with them and go with verizon I got a call from someone in retention he promised that I would get all things that I would get with Verizon. Well guess what its over three months and I still have not received all of the things they promised. They are such frauds they lie and cheat people to keep them on and they should be further investigated by the FCC. I am so tired of fighting with them. Anonymous 9/17/09 5:03AM

WOW. Blame the company of course because that would be easiest. Where do you get off saying Verizon's pricing is better?....They offer comparable programming for more money, customer service is not 24hrs, if your services are interrupted for any reason you will be waiting a true 24hrs at least for restoration of service, OH, and they lock you into a contract for 2yrs if you want the package that compares to Cablevision's Triple Play and you have a cancelation fee if breeched. What part of the game is that? No other cable co. does that. People need to think before they talk because "the grass isn't greener on the other side". If you say you have poor pic quality as well....GET A BETTER TELEVISION. No one should ever complain about picture quality if you don't have the most advanced TV with a HDMI connect either. While all you completely miserable people complain about nothing, I'm going to complain about you, because when you call in, and I have to keep my manners and my calm while you make things personal by taking you 'anger' out on me(and yes, I've had plenty of horrible, heartless people call me names, both racial and disrespectful) just because you like to hear yourself yell. I have no respect for all of those people who call in and just rant about how horrible something is. But I love it when you are screaming at me and I just sit back, put you on mute and play games on my phone until your done and say "I'm switching to another company!". And guess what? I really don't care! You think that's the breaking point where the whole company is put on hold to convenience your needs...yeah right, once again, I really don't care. I'm thinking that you sound like an idiot, who I would gladly shove over to another company, where you would just find something else to hate about, and you can yell at those reps and ruin their day. The only thing that brightens the light on you kind of people is the fact that the hour that you just spent tearing a hole in my ear is that I'm getting paid, while you are not.
So when you say that you can't take it any more (because cable is the one thing that is going to ruin your life apparently, with the way you burst a blood vessel on it) and say you want to switch, then stick to your word and do it. No one cares, and no ones going to try and keep you as their customer the way you have no respect for other people.
So get over yourselves. Realize that the voice on the other side of the phone is a person with a family and a job, and probably a lot better person than you are. When your done fussing and moaning about the bill you haven't paid in 9 months and wondering why it is so high, just remember, karma will get you.ilovepeople 3/5/10 12:21AM

Cablevision may as well be named Cable Crap because thats the industry name for them anyway. I work for a cable company, I get to sell their awesome and innovative services during the day and come home to crap! Cable Crap!
The channels are terrible, they are lacking alot of channels and provide you a fraction of what Comcast, Time Warner, and Verizon offers for less money. The DVR interface is ridiculous, its a terrible DVR! The internet does not deliver the speed or reliability that is promised... the phone is the only thing I will say does work.
Don't get me started on Cablevision's annoying commercial and the fact that because they cannot sell advertising spots, we are "treated" to something like three Cablevision commercials every time there is a commercial break during a show.
The pricing is very high for the low quality of service. The customer service reps and in particular sales/retention will lie to you, its a joke that this company is regulated by the FCC, they are terrible! I may compete against Verizon at my job but I can't wait until they turn on my area for service.
