My father's experience with Cincinnati Bell has been horrible to say the least can't even speak with anyone that knows what's going on. He is 80 years old and getting the run around around for 2 weeks now just a shame

Posted by Don't let them upgrade U

They upgraded my service to fiber into the house. I am paying more now for a lot less service that I had before they updated it. They never disclosed any of what they were taking away. I hate it and ready to switch to Time Warner. I feel cheated big time shame on their underhanded business practice.

By far ALTAFIBER this company is the WORST service I've ever had no only does it not have good prices for the Internet it connection is TERRIBLE l had a technician flat out lie to me that he had knowledge but he lied about replacing my box for cable it's a old scratch up very bad so if someone name JUSTIN come to correct anything says no if l could rate this company it would be a (((((ZERO))))) I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW YOU ARE STILL IN BUSINESS F+

Horrible service

I wanted to report that one of your technicians came up right up on my bumper for several miles while driving on 275 E and I had my infant in the car. He weaved in and out of traffic, and did this to several other cars. Definitely a liability .Truck number 2206105

Forced to adapt their new wireless cable boxes and has been nothing but a hassle ever since. even when the system says it's connected to the internet in settings, when I try to access a channel it says I'm not connected tot he internet. Customer service call has a three hour wait, no doubt due to the pathetic performance of this 'new' system. Time to switch to Spectrum

Altafiber has been digging in my community. They gave no prior notice, started right outside my home at 7:40 on a Saturday, workers have been yelling back and forth to each other, and trucks have been blocking traffic and parking for the last several days. Workers are either unresponsive or rude, I can't get through to customer service with a complaint at the number I was directed to call by Live Chat. This is a company completely uninterested in helping its customers. Would give it a -10 rating.

Do not use Altifiber, they over charge you for their service. This morning when I called about my account the automated system said I owed 205. After hanging up with customer service I owed 220
When I made a a payment a week ago I was told my account was current now I am a month behind.

This review is regarding TV service. From pixelation to timed out interruptions; to audio and video sync problems the television broadcast is terrible. Customer service and field technicians are useless. I had technicians visit my home only to tell me they're aware of the issues and are working on a solution. This visit was in September 2022 it's now December 20/2 and no solution-the problem still exits. I'm done! I'm

Waited over 6 weeks for an appointment to upgrade our internet. Waited for the technician, only to find out they made a scheduling mistake and will take another 5 weeks for the appointment.

Cincinnati bell constantly calls my phone everyday which is harrasment. I've decided to get my lawyers involved.

Terrible. That keep my acp credit from the internet program and still make me pay my own credit

Posted by Jasmine

A supervisor woman with a name (close to Jasper) kept me on the phone more than 2 hours.
I know she was just trying to wait me out. They hit me with a bunch of late charges a previous CS person said would get rid of. It is like the blind leading the blind. I will probably drop them if they do not delete the late fees.

Posted by JMOE

This is not about CS but about the indirect theft. CB slowed my internet down intentionally in an attempt to force me to pay more for higher speed. Not gonna happen. They are crooks. My NON intro monthly rate just (4 mos ago) increased under their new name by 37.5%. Thieves! I cannot afford for these greedy gougers to continue to increase and give me subpar product. CB if you are reading this, control your greedy selves!

Your company is ridiculous. Our internet didn't work most days. Your men put holes in our roofing. I paid my last bill then switched companies. Then you guys say I still owe you money? And send it to collections? If anything you guys should repair the holes in our roof...... this needs to be fixed (off my credit report) or I'll take further action. Thank you

Horrible service. Can't reach a real person. Cable out for days.no results

I tried to call cinci bell to add internet service. No one there speaks english as a first language so I could not understand them. So, I quit. They want me to buy without knowing how much it costs. No dice.

Posted by Tom

The most pathetic service desk ever. Staffed with clueless, untrained monkeys that have zero understanding of even the basic IT troubleshooting. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

I feel better about my decision to not move forward with C-Bell AltaFiber after finding this site. I called last night about 7:90 pm to establish service in a new location and the CSR's were impeccable. Pros all the way. But at the last step, they experienced an outage and were unable to complete my order. ?#1 Checked at 7:40 am today and there was still an outage. ?#2. Tried their chat feature and it was down ?#3. When the ??? wave, it's best to listen.
I'm not a fan of Spectrum as a company and they may be a little $$ but they fulfilled my order and have demonstrated reliability. Working from home, reliability is a must.
Sorry C-Bell, it's not a good look for a tech company to have lengthy outages.

Posted by James A (Lebanon)

I stop using Cincinnati Bell (AlterFiber) for my home and business years ago, because of horrible services (customer and tech support). However, since they were the first in Lebanon to offer fiber services, I decided to give them a chance to redeem themselves from years past. Again, I been disappointed. First, they installed my Fioptics services on June 7, 2022; that was over 300 feet of fiber cable across my front yard (above ground), and said they will bury it in the ground in 7-10 days (which ridiculous in it self, shouldn't take that long). So I said, ok; however, after 14 days the fiber cable is still laying above ground. So, I call Cincinnati Bell customer services and tech support, then after over more 30 minutes trying to talk with responsible person, I was told that Cincinnati Bell did not have any control of when the line would be buried (that was done by a subcontractor). I called Cincinnati on a weekly basis after, keep running into the same dead-end. As of July 26, 2022, the cable 300 plus feet fiber cable is still laying on top of the ground and my lawn mowing person has been navigating around the cable and the utility flags every week since June 7, 2022. Image what my front yard look like. Secondly, Cincinnati Bell has submitted 3 bills (over $450) for services that haven't completed, demanding that I pay, and then they turn the services off on June 26. So, I call them to remove all there fiber cable and equipment from my property; they told me they couldn't tell me when they could remove the cable and equipment. So don't be fool by Cincinnati Bell, they change their name and add a new product; however, Cincinnati Bell is the same horrible company that it has always been. For those of you whom may think I'm trying to not pay the bills, it's not that; but I refuse to pay form incomplete services.

We got service over a week ago we had it 2 days and it went out. They thought it was there equipment downstairs. They come back 2 days later. They find out it is the coupler box one the line at the pole. They said 24 to 48 HR. 48 hrs later they tell us(after we called them) 24 to 48 more hrs. After we call them again it is now 72 hrs we have to wait till Monday. Do you know how many times they called us to let us know they couldn't make it? Zero because they won't show you the same respect they expect from you. Don't think we need you anymore. I will pay extra to be treated with respect. It's not asking that much

Scheduled service for our office. Made special arrangements for someone to be present for the tech. Then we got stood up. Called back and Cinti. Bell admitted that we had an appointment, but cancelled the service. This has taken so much time and been so inconvenient and our operation in our office has been negatively impacted. Poor service!

Cincinnati Bell is absolutely awful. We have been told we would be getting better internet in 6-12 months for the past 2 years. The internet will barely work and streaming is poor. They refuse to do anything about it and no one will come out to hook it up, the lines are ready and everything. If you have other options for internet, DO NOT PICK CINCINNATI BELL!

The number of negative vs positive reviews says it all. For months, our residential & business accounts have been entangled. We've lost business for months, have received disconnect notices & no service/support. Several attempts to reach someone competent & understanding have yielded nothing. Do NOT be fooled by their new name, "altafiber"; their "expanded geographic reach" will only reach deeper in your pockets through expanded poor service & no regard for long-term business nor residential customers.

We have cincinnatibell internet and it sucks!! It is always going off and on plus today it is freezing up our television shows and movies. We have been short changed by the DVR processes. We pay for 3 tvs in our household to share usage of the recordings but can only watch and record on 1 now and then. It is NOT RELIABLE! Today our televisions are freezing up as we watch the programming. Pretty poor business, I say!!!

My installer, Mr. Ronald Hetrick, did a great job and is a credit to your company. Thank you for making the installation easy and painless. Mike Gmoser, Butler County, Ohio Prosecutor

I want to acknowledge that the installer named Billie McNealy went above and beyond to get us cable , WIFI , and telephone service. This man did what no other installer would do. Billie called his supervisor and had him come to our property and together they took care of the issues. We have had 3 prior appointments and was told we couldn't get it. Billie McNealy worked very hard and deserves recognition for his work ethics and ability on finding solutions that the other installers obviously couldn't do. You have an amazing go get it done employee. Thank you Billie McNealy we are forever grateful sir. I hope that this review gets seen by your supervisor which I would also like to thank.

So extremely nice, cordial, smart describes Zach Jones. Once Zach identified the problem, he called the necessary crew. Dillon Reegan joined Zach. They got our service up and running quickly. They explained what the problem had been and how it was fixed. Thank you Zach and Dillon!

We are first time homebuyers and had a wonderful experience with Mark Johnson who was our technician today. He installed new fioptics into our home. He did an absolutely fantastic job. He educated us on the installation process, walked us through the app on our phones, what to do if something goes wrong, and where he recommended to place the routers. His communication and cleanliness was wonderful. We will definitely be referring him to our friends! Thank you so much, Mark!

Bennett Ferguson did a great job installing our new modem.

Chris Jump came and installed fioptics tv and internet for me 4/8/22. He was courteous and professional. After installation he went how to use / manage the new setup. It was very helpful.
He did an amazing job during a time it was cold and rainy outside.
Great Job Chris.

Randy (7540) came last Friday (2-26) to install fioptics for my tv. He was on time, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. In addition to be personable he spent time explaining the remote control so I felt comfortable with it all before he left. He is an asset to Cincinnati Bell in my opinion.

I was having an issue with my landline and had to request a technician to come out. The technician was Tyler Paolello.
Mr Paolello was running a bit late contacted me to advise.
When he arrived he put his shoe covers AND his mask even though I told him it was not necessary! He insisted and told me it was required!
Mr Paolello was courteous, professional and friendly!
He immediately diagnosed the problem and explained it to me.
I was very satisfied with his service! Kudos to Tyler Paolello!

I believe the date was 12/13. Both my internet and cable service went down. I worked with a customer service agent named "Joe". Ultimately, Joe provided 100% positive resolution to both issues. Joe went above and beyond the call of duty. He not only successfully resolved both issues, but also gave me tips to improve response time on my pc's and explained several codes on my pc and the modem that I was curious about. As a new subscriber to Cincinnati Bell, this was an excellent first experience with the Support Team, and specifically, Joe. Nice job, Joe!!! If there is a next time, I hope I reconnect with you!

Have've had Cincinnati Bell Fioptics internet only (20MB/2MB) for almost two years. We live in the Edgewood/Crestview Hills area of Northern Kentucky. My experience is the exact opposite of virtually everyone here! Speeds are reliable with no noticeable down times. (Meaning I've never "experienced" disconnects.) The ZTE router is in the basement and everything we use to access the internet is wireless. The main home computer is on the 2nd floor, Amazon Fire TV on the 1st floor, two cell phones, and one LG 8" tablet. All works to our satisfaction!

Have had Cincinnati Bell for years and have been very happy with their fioptics service. Love their 30mb internet and Elite TV. Have have a few minor issues. Nothing their technicians couldn't come out and resolve for me.

We switched from TWC to Cincinnati Bell back in 2013 after having Roadrunner for years. Service started to go downhill in Cincinnati with Time Warner. We constantly had to get new modems and have techs come out to fix our service. We switched to Fioptics in Feburary 2013 and have been happy campers ever since! We started off with just Internet 30mb and have since added TV as well. We never had our service go out except when squirrels chew on our lines. When this happens, technicians are quick to replace the lines and get our service working again. The techs are friendly and always try to get your problems and questions solved. Sure Cincinnati Bell does use outsourced call centers but if you are nice to the help desk people, they can help you get your issues resolved. They are based in the Phillipians so they DO speak English despite what other commenters have said on this forum. All in all I highly recommend Cincinnati Bell. It's a good product and priced very competitively. I recently was informed just how much they giveback in the community as well. You should Google how much they give :).

mf fired me after 35 years of showing up all the time. low rent back stabbers

I actually work for the outsource company locally in Cincinnati that does the customer service and technical support they are trying to move from the Phillipines back locally and must say that the FiOptics service is not ready or unreliable in many areas therefore angry customers calling in and giving the poor contractors ear infections and making our jobs almost impossible. It is like we are doing damage control more than customer service and there is no loyalty for us local contractors. If we get bad surveys for pissed off customers we get wrote up and fired and the next poor schmuck gets to take our place. Its not like we did anything wrong, just the customer is mad that they had a bad experience and we are losing our jobs to be replaced by the next unknowing candidate due to unfair metrics. The management is horrible and they like to point fingers and issue is with them not us. FACT!
