Just spent 15 minutes trying to get a repeat transfer cancelled for a CLOSED ACCOUNT. Gave up and hung up. Kept telling me "you never stopped the transfer". Well I closed the account so wouldn't all related activity also be cancelled? Apparently not. Since it's their problem now and not mine I finally hung up after their unbending questions about my identity - to stop a transfer from a zero balance account. Yeh, that's your problem not mine, not wasting anymore time trying to fix it.

I was charged $30.00 fee for having a line of credit of $1,000.00 in which I have not used since Citizen took over HSBC. I have been a customer since 1980 and never once was I charged for having a line of credit account even when the bank changed hands several times. This is unheard of and I am a long time customer thinking about making changes. I think Corporate needs to reevaluate.

Today Citizens decided to randomly hold my available funds savings account in excess if 5000.00. Ghosted out the transfer option to transfer to my checking. Customer support agent said my existing account is under review . Some phantom supervisor will send me a letter. No idea why or when then he yelled at me. My online account clearly shows an available balance . This is so illegal. I have 3 large checks coming through tomorrow. I was told tough luck. My advise...get your money OUT Of this bank as soon as possible. Im trying...they just won't let me

After reading these comments, I think I had better run away from Citizens Bank. My bank was bought out by Citizens a few years ago and their service is horrifying. I am not a big money client so I guess I don't matter. Running, not walking to nearest exit.

Like someone else posted, I have plenty of money in my checking account, yet my debit card was declined after waiting 20 minutes in a long line to get gas. This isn't the first time it's happened. I couldn't understand the dialect of the customer service agent, and then she sent me to a rude, condescending "specialist" who couldn't give me an answer, but said there was a fraud alert. This was a complete lie. No suspicious activity. Everything routine. I've even had csr issues inside the bank. As soon as I deposit a nice sum in savings, I'm gonna pull all of it out and move to a credit union.

I visited a Maspeth branch (6971 Grand Ave, Queens) at 4.30 today (07/28/2023) to put some additional valuables into my deposit box. Service was horrible! At first clerk couldn't even find my box and spend almost an hour doing so. His manner was completely unprofessional and disrespectful - inadequate laughs, strange questions. He asked me if I visually remember where my box was located! I never had experiences like that when this bank was called Investor's and rarely complain, but I think that new management should pay attention to this incident. "Service" like this repulses new customers and certainly irritate an old ones. Respectfully, Serge G Vit (bank's customer since 2009)

Couple days ago I paid for may credit card at Citizens located at 3780 Nostrand Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11235. When I came to the branch, I was told that teller is counting money and will be available in 20 minutes. I will never have business with them again

My account has plenty of money in checking. Purchases with my debit card are now routinely declined during daily business--gas, technology, hard ware, food---can't function. Hold times to clear these up are a minimum of one hour each time. I'm taking my banking elsewhere. When they issue a new debit card, the old card clearly says on the card valid to the end of the month. My card (existing for years) was shut off on a Friday. No access to funds. This is a bank?

Citizens Bank sucks, the website goes down often, the cell phone deposit option doesn't always work, its a shame corperate doesn't put more into the website. the branch people are freindly and nice, but customer service is HIDEIUOS. 45 minute call waiting, etc

I have been a citizen bank for a long time. I am appauled that they want me to pay $360.00 to have bank statments printed to help me so my husband can go to long term care.Tdbank printed them for no charge. Never mind the constant call about opening charge accounts as well as other accounts. I am very upset. Thanks for noyhing!

I am beyond frustrated.
It's been a week that my 2 credit cards & online banking have been hacked.
Waiting for HOURS to speak with someone & then not resolved.
BTW most employees are not American & CAN'T understand tbem!

I don't appreciate receiving a pass do notice for my safety deposit box
It seems that when investors bank merged with citizens bank no one did there diligence regarding the safety deposit box at investors banks
So instead of me calling my maple shade branch ,citizens should have emailed the customer apologizing for the error
This leaves a bad impression to me regarding citizen bank

I waited in the drive through at 28999 5 Mile Rd Livonia 48154 for 40 minutes with only one car ahead of me. They had one teller. When I inquired why, two different women in the bank came to the window that was not the teller. Why couldn't one of them handle the drive thru? Instead I got them conversing and laughing inside with the teller about me. That branch is ridiculous. It is frustrating to spend that much time to make a deposit. Are the additional people inside not able to fill in as a teller. If so, how ridiculous. They were taking the people that walked in before they were talking the drive thru. There has always been problems at that branch. I will not be ridiculed by your employees. I will simply withdrawal and close my accounts and go to a credit union or different bank institution.

Citizens bank did a hard inquiry on my credit and when i checked, the comment said needs work. My credit rating is excellent and my score is over 800. Not sure how they arrived at needs work, but I would not use them since they don't understand that a score of over 800 is excellent and does not need work! Shame on you Citizens bank!

Why is there only two tellers at the Lee Harvard branch in Cleveland Ohio. I stood in line to make a deposit for 1 hr. It's always a wait 15 minutes or more today was horrible. Their were senior citizens, disabled people in line waiting. 4 chairs to sit in. And 10 people in line. Two at the tellers window. They have got to be the slowest tellers in Cleveland.

Citizens recently took over my bank. I had called to ask for a balance. I was told no. I ask to speak to a manager who was Steve Cashiola. He was so condescending and told me how I should be able to drive 30 min to my closest bank to obtain this. I explained that I was having car trouble and couldn't. He then told me well maybe I should cancel my account then. He was so rude and didn't care that I was a long time customer. He then sent me a letter forcing me to close my account. I will never recommend this institution to any of my clients or my friends. They don't care about people!

This is a bank that is a complete horror show if you decide to travel out of the united state! Avoid at all costs! First I notified them as required as for my travel assistance. Then they froze my card when attempting to pay for luggage with the airline. Then they kept me on hold forever when trying to resolve. After arriving in Europe the proceeded to freeze me card and take it at an ATM. Imagine now being in a foreign country without access to your money. What were they willing to do to help? Nothing send me a new card to my house in the USA and nothing more!
They froze and locked me out of my Cell phone web access numerous times and then eventually told me that they do not support oversees phone app! Only after making me contact them numerous times. They told me that using my laptop was the best and only choice which they kept freezing me out of! After 27 days I just got a voicemail from the office of the "chairman" impressive right, not! Her voicemail was, Im looking to see how we can further assist you? Seriously? Further assist me? after 27 days in Europe with no access to my funds other than to transfer to other banks that did not completely fail me? Ans even then it was a nightmare trying to get access and always getting locked out of my accounts over and over and over! Citizens, not accountable, not reliable, no sense of urgency, no critical thinking skills. Citizens equals Horror! Imagine being trapped in a foreign country and not having access to your money! For a month! You know how much Citizens cares? Zero, a phone call from the office of the chairman seriously? He needs to get out of his chair and off his Arse!

Was approved for a Citizens Bank Master Card which finally arrived. I've called the "activate your card" number multiple times and recording tells me that someone will help me in THIRTY MINUTES. Also tried calling my branch bank and NO ONE ever answers there either. In fact, after their phone rings 100 times, someone picks it up and hangs up. Really professional. Customer service with this bank has sucked for years, even before Covid. LONG waits, staff people who often speak English with a thick accent, making it hard to understand them, etc. No idea why Citizens can't get its act together in this regard!

STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM Citizens Bank..
I was ripped off by a scam companies. The company is Universal Health Share. They had been charging my credit card $344.00 every month. I went to my Doctor for a checkup and some Lab work. Bills were sent to Universal Health Share and they never paid one cent. After months and months of calls and bills being sent by the Doc. office and myself. I had to pay all the bills myself. I called Citizens to cancel the credit card and file a claim. The Citizens Rep said I was ripped off and this sounds like a scam and someone from citizens would call me in 48 hours. Citizens never called. I called citizens several more time and Citizens said each time someone would call me. Never got a call but did get a letter that said because I sign up for the service they found in favor of Universal Health Share. This is nuts. I talked to the manger at the citizens branch I go to and she said that was nuts and I was ripped off and she would get this taken care of ASAP. Citizens never did anything to help and I never got 1 cent back...

After my father passed away, my Mom noticed that some money had been taken a couple times from their account.
She thought my sister may have neede money, and she had access to the account.
Ine day my Mom asked my sister if she needed financial help, and my sister told her not at all.
After looking into it, my sister realized that thousands were missing, and went to Citizens.
She was met with rudeness and condescending attitudes.
It took a law officer to find answers, what they found was a Citizens employee, who knew my father had passed away, was writing checks to herself. She didn't even spell the name right, and Citizens still let it happen.
Incompetent institution with zero respect for individuals.

I was a victim of "fishing", where checks were stolen from a mailbox.
Citizens did NOT put a stop payment on after I asked them to do so in person, as a result my account was completely depleted.
It took many trips to the bank, countless phone conversations, an excessive amount of time to try to close my own account!
Very poor, unprofessional staffing.

Reading all these reviews I am not surprised. Unless you are a huge dollar client you are just noise in their daily business. Busy work, that's all. All banks are the same and many credit unions are becoming the same, though you can fare better at a credit union. And most of all credit unions don't risk your monies trading notional derivatives which citizens does.

Citizens bank changed my routing number and never informed me. Now my retirement accounts do not want to send my checks. Because citizens bank informed them that my account has changed.
They just don't care. Worst service possible

The branch at stop n shop in Lynn mass is awful. There's always 4-5 employees but only 1 window open. 3 times this month I've now waited 15+ min just to get to the window. Not to mention all 5 employees barley speak English

I actually just had a good experience with Citizens customer service. I called at 4am when I noticed they had charged me an insufficient funds fee on an acct that I had transferred more than enough money in to to cover a restaurant's error in charging me twice. The customer service rep was courteous and asked me to hold fir 2 minutes while she reversed the fee. I was very satisfied.

I have a safe deposit box at your bank and use it quite often. 10 days ago, I dropped my eternity ring on the floor while I was doing business. After I went crazy looking for it, I got a phone call from Tara,branch manager,to tell me that she found my ring. I know I am very lucky but I also want commend your workers who are so honest and loving. Please let other people know my great experience.

Good bank. People in the local offices as well as on the phone always friendly. I guess these people making the negative comments never had to deal with B of A. Now there is a lousy bank.

I would have gotten fired if i was a branch mgr. like the one at center square. the assist. was no better. rude and stupid!!! it is amazing.
