They just won't answer their phone. I have tried to reach them multiple times since January. One time I was on hold for over an hour and finally hung up. Find another company that answers their customer service line.

Absolutely awful customer service! I've had 2 incidents in a row where my login and password haven't worked, then it takes for Frigg'in ever to get someone on the phone to fix the issue! Even then, you have to answer 10,000 Frigg'in questions! Now it's 8pm Central Time on a Saturday, and I can't get a hold of anyone tp resolve my login/password issue! Someone should be available 24/7 to resolve issues like this! I'm highly upset, because I'm attempting to purchase a car, and was at a dealership today, and I wanted to be able to look at the same Frigg'in reoperts they had access to! GET THIS FIXED NOW!!!!!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Free Credit Report is a big scam. I wasn't given a free credit report. They charged me over 20 dollars for it, plus I got charged every month for credit monitoring. NO FREE GRACE PERIOD!!!! It is not free like they say.

Free credit report is horrible! Robbed money out of the checking account. Said sorry for mistake and refunded 6 months. I was told to send fax and the problem would be solved right away. Have sent numerous faxes never a response or the rest of the refund. Called again and have been informed they will not refund the other 7 months. They are very sorry for the mistake THEY MADE but no further refunds. PLEASE LISTEN AND DO NOT USE THIS RIPOFF SERVICE. So many people CAN NOT BE WRONG. use credit karma it truly is free and much better service and tools. I wish I would have known and saved myself the hassle of dealing with this ripoff. Be smarter than me!

Make sure you watch where you click on this site. If you click on the wrong button it will take the 33 dollar charge out of your account. The people you call could care less either. Would NOT recommend this site to anyone

I got some dude named Paul(or thats kinda what it sounded like) I dont speak slur and thats how he spoke. It does take time. YOu have to demand the call be recorded AND speak with a supervisor. Again make sure you tell them you want it recorded. They will still hem an haw but it will be OK :D

It was a dollar for instant access to your credit report and free to get it by mail. And the 33.95 charge was for all three credit reports you have to look very closely and click NO THANK YOU!!! They do it purposely so you buy all 3.

I to was duped by the three report charge when asked for my FREE CREDIT REPORT for $1.00. Nothing on the web page states that there is a charge to view the three reports only that there is a monthly membership fee of $19.95 if you do not cancel your membership within 30 days.
I immediately contacted Experian within 1 hour of opening the account and cancelled immediately. They said they could not refund all of the $31.95 because some of it was to the other two credit bureaus.I then researched the complaints and Ripoff Reports about Freecreditreport.com and saw that there are hundreds of complaints. To prevent further charges to my card I cancelled my card and filed a complaint. My next action is to file a complaint with the BBB and request my Congressman to have this issue investigated.

same thing with me as with all the comments on here. it starts out with the $1, and today i noticed a fee of $19.99, after being on the phone for hours yelling at the same guy, and noticing ANOTHER fee of $19.99 from the previous month, I lost it. The guy started out saying he could NOT do any refund, but when I noticed the other charge, he told me i COULD have a refund, but only for half. best beleive I WILL get my money back, and report them. This is absolutly rediculous the way they treat people!!!!

The hell with "Free" credit report. Can anyone, I mean ANYONE on this site tell me how so many businesses get away with so much crime??? Doesn't anyone sleep well at night anymore?

I did this STUPID credit check just once and all of a sudden I get these fees of $31.95 per month. Then another random fee, including one for, you guessed it, $1. For what? Is there someone following my every credit card move to 'protect' me? Why would I pay when it says FREE?

I just spoke with a manager named Carol. It's a man's name. You know, cause all manly men are named Carol.

When I told him I was angry that I was charged without my permission, he said 'I'm sorry you feel that way' and quickly dumped this problem back on me. Does anyone know if any laws were broken with Freecreditreport and how to report them?

I have taken my experience at this crap company and will tell all of my colleagues and friends about this. They deserve to know that if something negative happens, the managers there will say 'I'm sorry YOU feel that way' instead of apologizing and trying to find out how to help me.

Ahh, free credit report, I will think of that 'company' the next time I have to drop the kids off at the pool.

my fiance and i checked our credit reports this weekend i clicked the box that said i would be charged a dollar and then billed if i didn't cancel within 7 days, i called 2 days later and checked with my bank they charged me 3 times of 31.95 and said that i clicked the box and i know i didn't. i am furious. this is something i will never do again and the customer service was more worried or concerned with getting me to keep membership ya rite!!!!!! why would i after they screwed me in 2 days of doing business with them, what was worse is that a while back i used this service and truly was charged just a dollar. what a scam

Posted by Anonymous

they will tell you you clicked a link that enrolled you into a charge of 33.95...even in if you didn't. glad i found this website to see i am not the only one who was scammed. if only i saw this website sooner. i want my money back!!!!!!

I agree with all of these complaints. After seeing the catchy commercials I decided to order my free credit report at FreeCreditReport.com yesterday...NOT FREE. I chose the option to view my scores immediately and agreed to be charged a $1.00 fee. Today I viewed my bank statement and was charged $31.95. I called CS and the man said that I clicked a button to be charged this fee (I DID NOT click anything other than the $1.00). After much argument he agreed to refund me $17.65. When I got this far, I couldn't understand his side of the argument in refunding me this amount, and not the entire amount.
Spoke with a supervisor and got my entire amount refunded.
Word of Advice: Be persistant, they will give you the full refund if you demand it. This website is a scam in my opinion...it's sad to read all of these complaints of people agreeing to pay these outrageous fees. Imagine how much money this company is making...enough to make catchy commercials luring us to their website. DON'T DO IT!!

To Whom It May Help! Just stay away from these people. Where is the FREE in the service. It is not! You will be charged from the moment you say hello. You can monitor your own report. if you find a problem call the company you got the report from. they will help you. THSES PEOPLE ARE CROOKS! I will let you know when I get my refund and just how hard they make it.

This is a scam! I did their $1 credit report. I got charged $16.99 and said they can't reverse the charges because it was on the website about their 7 day deal and have to cancel after. READ carefully before you do their $1 trial. The costumer service representative was so rude! Will never recommend this to anybody!

I am very disappointed with the way I was treated with freecreditreport.com. I signed up only to take a look at my scores one time and cancelled about 10 minutes later, give or take. I was only suppose to be charged 1.00, but was charged 33.95 + 1.00? I called and could only be given half of the 33.95 back (18.06 or something). This is not what I signed up for, I clicked nothing to do with an extra charge of anything. Y'all will only get bad reviews from me from now on.

I cancelled my account the very same day I activated it because I had used them before and knew the 7 day free was complete crap. However, I needed to know my credit score asap. I spoke to a woman who tried to sell me the sun and moon before cancelling. I noticed today that they charged me $14.95 TWICE again and it is currently processing through my bank account. I called in to get a refund considering I had already cancelled. The customer service rep then told me "I'm not saying you didn't cancel, but our phone keeps logs on your account automatically and I don't show anything for you". I told him this was not accurate because I had wasted 15 minutes of my life the time before with a non English speaking woman trying to get her to cancel my account instead of get me to buy more things. He was very rude and pretty much called me a liar after that during the call. I hung up on him and after it posts tomorrow I am calling to dispute it with my bank.

This is a rip off. If you don't call them to cancel....check your really fine print...they start billing your credit card every month. Then you call and you get some non English speaking person that you can't understand. DON"T USE FREE CREDIT REPORT.COM. Anybody but them.

Why when I call during your business hours listed it tells me to call between your business hours? On the phone in says Monday through Friday starting at 6am and It's 7:40. You have been charging me 19.96 a month since I got one score for an apartment application when online you said it wouls be a lot less then that. Not happy with your services at all.

I am very frustrated with freecreditreports.com. It is a scam. Through It was advertised as a free trial for seven days after which it would cost $12.95/month. So the thought is I get the credit reports and worse case I forget to cancel in seven days it would cost me &12.95. On no, they charged me $31.95 to get reports from the three agencies. Cancelled and done with it, minus $44.90. Doesn't sound much like free credits reports to me. I fell for it. I hope others can avoid being duped.

HORRIBLE Experiences.

Wait times are over 10-12 minutes.

Then they hook you to Tech Services.

That is another 10 min hold.

My problems never get fixed.

You have obvious Software problems with your system.

I spend most of my mornings -- 3 times per week trying to reach your people.

While working a busy job -- It consumes a good part of my morning.

So, here's my thing. I've been on the path to correct my credit. I signed up for this at least 2 years ago. It really is a great tool. I even have the app on my phone. However, my main and MAJOR gripe is that for however long I've had this account open. I've had to pay $19.95 per month. OK whatever, there are a lot of perks. The issue is......I don't get to see my scores across the board... I only get to see the one report. If I pay $19.95per month, why do I not get to see my scores across the board? Myfreescore, where? I have tried several times to cancel this and was met with horrible refutation combined with promises to lower the cost per month. With no changes. I should get to see my three since I pay what would be considered a premium...

I recently noticed that my husband has been charged every month for what will be 3 years this Febuary (next month) for 14.95. The past 2 months we noticed it went up 2 extra dollars. We called (again for the 4th time) to cancel this and they immediatly gave us a $33 credit and said we can send them the proof that we paid 14.95 a month for however long and they will refund that amount. Just faxed the 27 page document to them, so I guess we will see if we get our $364 credit. (which is only 24 months worth)

I just tried to get my free credit report and your company has denied giving it to me. I do not know why you are not giving it to me. If it is because of the e-mail address, I have to use my friends computer, because I do not have one. My name is Douglas Earl Long and if you do not provide me with a report, you had better not charge me any money at all!!!! Cancel me right now or else provide me with a credit report!!! I will be notifying my card holder to cancel you.

I just contacted FreeCreditReport.com using the customer service number that was provided and immediately pressing 3. I was only on hold for 2 minutes, the customer service representative was able to look up my information and immediately cancelled the billing and blocked the ability for any additional charges. He also stated that they would be reversing the charge on my credit card. this only took 5 minutes to complete. Thank You.

i recently signed up for this free report and i was warned that the free trial would turn in to a monthly membership within 7 days.

i was very annoyed at first when i got a busy tone under the listed phone number, but some googling led me to the number listed above and after a 3-4 minute phone call i was able to cancel my membership. they did try to sell me additional services, but i politely declined and they cancelled my membership.

they're not going to make money handing out free reports to everyone. nothing is free. they warn you that your membership will require payment in 7 days. yeah, it's shady that their service number has a busy tone, but if you could find this website, you can find a valid phone number. just call, and cancel. i got a free credit report, just like the website said.
