  • Let me start by saying that after being GoDaddy's customer for nearly 3 years, I can say they are unequivocally the worst company I have had the displeasure of working with - ever. I understand that everybody makes mistakes, but consistently being in the wrong is a sign of an underlying problem; and that is precisely what GoDaddy has - many many underlying problems. To briefly summarize my points of pain while being their customer: 1) They overcharged me 3 times - each time I had to call and each time they eventually admitted fault and reversed the charges (be sure to check your credit card statements frequently if you deal with them) 2) They constantly try to sign me up for things I do not need or want and despite letting them know that I am not interested in their "Special Deals", I am constantly bombarded with upsells 3) Changes were made to my account (3 of my domains were affected) without my knowledge or approval which adversely affected my web sites and email delivery - upon calling them about this issue they first stated it must be my fault, but upon speaking to a manager two days later they admitted having some "DNS Problems" (whatever that means).

Luckily for us (the consumers), it is a competitive market place out there and there is no reason we have to endure their poor service offerings. I realize that have flashy models disrobing on television frequently, but their spokespersons' dislike of clothing has absolutely no positive impact on their ability to be a good registrar.

I strongly recommend you stay away - learn from my mistake of choosing GoDaddy as my last registrar - it is simply not worth your time and aggravation.

  • GoDaddy lost my domain name. Even though it was locked, GoDaddy still allowed a transfer to a different registrar to proceed. When I called their "support" number, after waiting on hold for 10 minutes, some arrogant guy (wish I remembered his name) got on the line and basically blamed me. When I told him the domain was locked and that it was against ICANN rules to allow a transfer to occur, he said, "Do you think the world's largest registrar wouldn't know ICANN's rules?". I asked for a supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. I can't believe GoDaddy customer service treats people this way, and I can't believe there is no recourse for their mistake. Stay away from this company!!!

  • Their customer service is one of the worst I have ever encountered. My site is repeatedly hacked by viruses which insert hidden iframes into my code, and they seem to be able to do nothing about it. Their service guys take 24 hours to respond, and even if you have provided all the details, they again ask you the same standard questions. Its so frustrating that I am tearing my hairs out. The world's biggest hosting service provider cannot keep its servers secure, what a joke.

  • Talk about "I can't be bothered"! He asks me for the last four of a credit card number. It belongs to an employee but I sort of remember. I was one number of as it turns out and this GoDaddy "service" person tells me I'm not even close. I call my employee to get the right number and you got it: I was one number off.
    What a rude dope!

Keep in mind that you will probably get a generic answer either from phone support or from email support. Go Daddy support reps have a minimum number of calls and sales to hit each day and email support has a minimum number of emails to answer each day and therefore customer issues are often scanned through and not even researched.

  • I have been using GoDaddy for over ten years, and have nothing but good experiences with them.

  • I have to say I was concerned because Godaddy is so cheap and usually you get what you pay for. I have called to find out why I couldn't buy a domain that had expired registration, for support with a free web site and a question about a paid web site. I was very impressed with their customer service, I figured that with the free web site they would tell me to get lost but they didn't they answered the question and their tech support is not rude. You will find that when you call to buy something the wait time is not over 3 minutes but when you call for a problem with a web site you need to have around 10 - 20 minutes to wait depending on time of day. Anyway the fact that they help out w/ free web sites makes me want to buy more things from them and transfer my other domains that are w/ more expensive companies.

  • Support rep was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was having issues getting their email forward setup to goto a different host. Even though overall it did not work (It was because of the hosting company, not with GoDaddy), the person stayed with me and exhausted all possible solutions that would of been with them. The person never talked down to me once (i was very knowledgeable in the situation).

  • Further to the previous note re how rude the "service" guy was. I called back with the right last four, dealt with a prince of a young guy named Zach and got all the help I wanted in three minutes. Zach needs to be running the customer service department.
