First I called CS in advance to add childseat to the booking as I couldn't find this option during booking online. They confirmed that I will get child seat. In fact no child seat, they advised me to buy it. Next to it nobody informed me in advance that office in Dubai Marina is closed 21.04.2023 and car should be brought to Airport. Knowing all this info in advance I would have cancelled my booking. While driving to bring car back 20.04 in the evening my car was hit, it was not my fault. So we went to police station. Nobody from hertz office did not want to help me, I was really in stress. I spent 1 hour to get police report, it was sent to CS. I called CS to send recovery team to pick up the car as it wasn't fully drivable. They told that team was sent, I was waiting there 3,5 hours!!! And called to CS 3-4 times they told all the time that recovery team is on the way. In fact recovery driver contacted me 21:30 after 3 hours of waiting to know my location. I provided location 3 times to CS. It took only 25 min for recovery driver to come to police station. So as you see recovery team was not sent immediately. After car was picked up I was left in the middle of nowhere, no taxis around, time 22:30, my phone was almost dead and I couldn't call as I spent all 60 minutes talking to CS. I will never rent car by hertz. I don't recommend this company

Hertz sent me on the road with a faulty tire. A few miles down the road it went fully flat. They said for $75 they would replace the tire or they would provide me with a voucher to do their shopping for them. There seems to be some level a deceit in this. Instead, we cancelled the rental. They found it impossible to actually print out a cancellation form or an acknowledgment of the return of the vehicle. We do have a signed hand written note acknowledging the return but I have no way of knowing for certain if the name given is legitimate or just another bit of deception. The staff seemed to be enjoying the stress through which they were putting us. When I asked for their address to give my son directions to come and pick us up they utterly refused. I find thx MVA incomparably more concerned for customer service and care the the cabal you have 'working at this site. (Catonsville Maryland.)

AWFUL! Hertz practices are deceptive and fraudulent. They are empty to charge for insurance even when declined and also apply INSANELY high fraudulent charges to your rental. They should not be in business. They're headed for another class A lawsuit for this ish as well.

Really bad service. Rented a car for two weeks. Got a car for one day. Double charged me. Moreover double the amount! They keep you in a loop to get the best price s on the internet. Call you the day of telling you they don't have a car. They pass on cars to people who are higher paying or rent on the spot. They still have availability online showing they have cars. While they tell people who booked in advance for a good pricing that they don't have car available. It'ss a huge huge scam. The cars are never clean or taken care of. When you need a car you need a car. The reservation there is a scam. The happy faces to get you in the door is a scam. You can picture how this ended. They charged me and told me they could not explain why I gotta charged for a week and walked out the door with no car

Worst service from the Hertz. Expected better service as they charge highest among their peers. Rented a car for whole week and ended up returning the car after 1 day due to bad weather and cancellation of my trip. And Hertz charged me 90% money of the entire week amount just for 1 day. That is pure thieving. Probably my last rental from Hertz. And the customer service is one of the worst. First of all it is not in USA and people are so rookie, they don't know what they are doing. I had to call 4 times and wait 2 months to get an explanation that they will charge $307 for renting a small SUV for one day.

I'd like to think that Hertz is still trying to recover from the Pandemic debacle, but I had a horrible experience with them last month, and it isn't over. They are a premium priced rental car company that can't even get the basics right.

After a car that I picked up on their Gold Row leaked oil all over host's driveway I checked the dipstick and there was NO oil. I called them. They sent a tow truck and then tried to charge me for the full 3 day rental AND the tow. They did not provide a replacement vehicle.

The very unhelpful offshore billing department told me that I needed to pay for the full 3 day rental, but that they would give me a certificate (presumably for a future rental, but we didn't get that far).

Their CEO's name is Kathryn Vanstrom Marinello and their corporate headquarters at 8501 Williams Road, Estero, Florida 33928. Perhaps a letter to her?

My husband has been trying to find out why he is on the "do not rent list" for over a year. Countless phone calls snd correspondence. Everyone says they will escalate the issue as he should not be on this list. He just checked with Hertz at Boston Logan airport and it still is not remedied. Your "customer service " department is anything but.

Horrible customer service. You cannot find ANYONE local to the US to speak with when you have an issue. You get constantly run around and around in their automated phone system until you are dumped to an outsourced call center somewhere in Asia that doesn't speak good English.

Chat options are the same as are Facebook and Twitter.

Do not have faith in this company. They failed to provide with proper service, they failed to reimburse me for my loss, and they failed to keep a customer. Do not choose them unless you wish to end up with no money AND no car at the end of the day.

Terrible service!! Every department says different things, they are very nasty! And they don't have a problem to knock down the phone in your face! TRY TO AVOID USING THERE SERVICE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!

Well hertz is really unprofessional all the way around the board. I've had my reservation set by my insurance company fir nearly two weeks going on three.Still I have no rental. I Go down to hertz out here in reno nv, they tell me the won't have any cars available until Monday. The weekend passes Monday comes still they have no car now I have to wait until tuesday.Now they have a car but the issue now is that they don't accept none of my cards for debit. Now we all know the qr code is the new way irreplaceable for not having the physical card. I go to my Wells Fargo bank they help me set up my digital wallet and hertz Still in all hertz tells me that's a unacceptable firm of payment. I just don't get it it's nothing but made up non sense I still have no car. Poor customer service. What happened to the customer being always right this is just ridiculous

Hertz is AWFUL. They will try to lure you in with low prices but have thee WORST customer service. You can only speak with a foreigner who is reading from a script if you try to call customer service. On top of all of that, they are scammer. They will email you one price, only to change it when you get your final bill. Their employees are rude and ignorant (in the sense of being very unhelpful). Pay a couple more dollars and go with Budget, Avis, Alamo, National or ANYONE other than Hertz!

Beware!!!! Leave customer in the dark with the legalize boilerplate in rental agreement. Rented and prepaid a month in advance for six day trip in South Texas. Since I used husbands credit card when paying I couldn't rent the car when arriving to airport. Even though I had PREPAID!!! I tried to use other methods rebook, other credit cards. Nothing no help, only option was to rent a car at $350 per day!!!!! I can't afford that even though car waiting for me on lot. Of course somehow they didn't have ability to help me though I was stranded for six days. BEWARE Laura Tack

I booked a trip to take my daughter and 2 granddaughters to st petes this past Jan. 2022. My daughter was in charge of the rental car. She chose Thrifty rental at TPA. Well there was a mix up of sorts , she was completely upset .My granddaughters thought we were gonna be stuck at the airport and our trip would be ruined. I walked over to the hertz counter and explained our situation. The gentlemN proceed to get me a car and then told me if I added insurance it would be $5.00 more then I was already paying. I showed him my own car insurance cards and he said again, this is only $5.00 more for $200 worth of I surface. I said fine and signed. Needless to say when our trip was over and we got back home I look at my receipt and see that I was charged 34.99 a day. The insurance was more then the car!. I tried calling a customer service number and no answer. I have emailed and am now going on 20 days with no response. What kind of customer service is this??? The employee blatantly lied to me and I can't get one frigging person to answer a phone or an email and get this resolved. I will never use this lying company again and I am to put this review on every possible outlet I can and warn others who would want to rent from this lying company and from the Tampa Airport Hertz especially. I had tried to call that location the day after we arrived home and no answer or ability to leave a message. And why would they want to answer since they back employees that are con men.

Never rent a car from Hertz. They have hands down the worst customer service I've ever seen from a company. If you ever have issues with your vehicle good luck getting anyone on the phone EVER! Even when I tried calling the emergency repair line, I never got a call or text back from them at all during my entire weeks vacation. I've come to see that they do this on purpose so that they don't have to deal with customers. And when they say they are going to remedy a situation they obviously just tell you that to make you go away and then know that you will fight with their corporate customer service and an endless merry go round of online battles as well. I implore you to use ANY other rental service but Hertz.

I have been trying to cancel a booking for 8 hours. 28 days ahead of the booking. They want to charge 100.00 to cancel. The website is geared for new reservations. If you speak to a human there is another 5% fee. I thought I was on hertz website and it switched me to Priceline. Both companies say it must be cancelled with the other one. Terrible business model. If you want a reservation you can speak to a live person. It's shameful. I wouldn't ever recommend hertz.

Orlando airport waited in line 35 minutes to get car , went in parking garage to location told car wasn't there, had to go back to counter to get assigned another car which was all the way in back parking lot, turn key car wouldn't start , had to walk back get another car then waited 25 minutes in line in parking garage to get checked again to leave . So a total of 1 hour and 1/2 to get a rental car , I don't call this customer service

It was my first time trying to rent a van through Hertz. I made reservation online for a van for my family, a month in advance. The day before I was supposed to pick up the van, I called their Riverdale, Utah, location and added another day. The lady had no problem helping me out with that. Well, come the day I was supposed to pick up my rental, I woke up to a voicemail from them, literally an hour an a half from my pick-up time, telling me that they don't have a van for me! They rented out the van that I reserved for a month to a customer the day before and their excuse was "We assumed you weren't going to show up tomorrow!" Are you kidding me?? WORSE customer service EVER!!! The manager named JOSH did not even try and help us out! All he said was that he's sorry! Not even trying to make any phone calls to their other locations or ANYTHING! There was an SUV out their lot but he said he's not going to rent it to us! I reserved for a month for a reason! It was a family trip and this horrible Hertz location ruined our family vacation! Hertz Riverdale, Utah and the manager named Josh needs to learn how to be professional at their job! Assumption is never an answer! There's a reason why you asked for costumers phone number! CALL THEM!!!

I have a reservation in apple valley at 2: today but they will only take a credit card I have called 7 people out here and everyone only has a debit card. Kia is paying for the rental but I can't find a credit card I do have the money on my Bofa Visa card and I am desperate

I have been on hold for 43 minutes on 3/28/2020 until someone picked up to help me cancel a reservation. I also cancelled the same reservation on 3/14/2020 and 3/25/2020 (having to wait 24 and 32 minutes those times). Each time the agent I spoke with said everything was fine and they would cancel without the $100 cancellation fee. When I asked for a confirmation number or some kind of proof they had completed the cancellation, they said that they didn't have anything to give me, but rest assured, it would be handled. The reason I called instead of cancelling on line is that the website didn't give me the option of cancelling without a fee. Given the Covid-19 issue and the country being shut down, I don't think I should be charged a fee to cancel the reservation. The agents I spoke to agreed but apparently aren't authorized to waive the fee themselves and need a supervisor to approve it. I'm guessing that this is where the problem occurs -- the request gets lost with the supervisor and never gets processed? I just hung up with her and said "it's done" and I should get a full refund in 7-10 business days. We'll see.

The gentleman I talked to indicated that I had sufficient points for the entire 7 days in a Standard SUV. We also inquired regarding a larger SUV and determined that my points were not sufficient for a larger vehicle. Therefore, I proceeded with the reservation for a standard SUV, and was told that my responsibility was only for fees and taxes, in the exact amount of $154.16.
A few minutes later, I received a voice mail from the same gentleman, who asked me to call back to confirm some information. I did so, and received a different representative, who informed me that the prior representative had; in fact, misquoted the amount we would have to pay because my Gold Plus Rewards account was 13 points short of the amount necessary to get a free weekly rental. I was quoted $418.31 instead - a significant increase from what I was initially quoted. I indicated that was unacceptable and asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting on hold for at least 10 minutes, the representative told me that there was nothing she could do - and I would have to pay the higher amount or buy more points. I asked to speak to a supervisor because that was an unsatisfactory resolution. When a specific quote is given by your representative, Hertz should stand by that quote. As a Gold member, I feel that my continued use of Hertz warrants a level of service that I did not receive today. I also know from my years working in business that a misquote by a customer service representative is normally honored by most reputable companies. Therefore, I felt that asking for the same was warranted, and should be expected from Hertz. The supervisor in a raised voice at all times, spoke over me (even though I asked her repeatedly to stop doing so) to the point that my son and daughter in law across the room could hear her without being on speaker phone. She stated that if I chose to go to another company that was fine, and there was absolutely nothing she could do to assist. She was rude, argumentative, and displayed the lack of customer service that should never be displayed by any person in contact with the public. I was appalled at the lack of concern for my situation. I was treated horribly and received no satisfaction.

Whatever happened to the concept that one CSR could handle everything for you. Well, certainly Hertz has never heard of that concept. They have to transfer you to somebody different if you want to change a reservation, extend a reservation (is that not changing?), transfer points from one account to another, etc. etc. etc. Ridiculous - I hate Hertz. Too bad my company's corporate account is with them - because I would definitely be somewhere else with my loyalty. By the way, I'm President's Circle with them - not that that makes any difference.
