  • Home Depot has NO customer service in the store or when you have to call customer service. Today I went into the store to find out why I had not received a statement as I buy and sell houses and pay all bills
once a month. I had not used my home depot card in some time due to bad customer service, gal said I cant help you call number on the back of card. I did and could not get a real person on the phone, asked for help, and was told she couldnt do anything about it either.(and could have cared less. Several customers around chimed in and said, o " forget anyone helping you"
Finally I did get to talk to someone, asked where my statement was and was told I was
18 days overdue, and all she knew was it was mailed. I said I will pay what I owe as Im at store but I will not pay the late fee, as I have never paid a late fee, and was told I should know the dates the statements came out
and have paid it. My final response was
I cant pay statement if I dont get it, and if she cared to look at my record she would see I have always paid before due date, and I would not pay the late fee, I will pay my bill in full and will not be back to Home Depot again. Im sure the bottom line looks
good, but the people you hire act like they are doing you a favor by just being there (of course that is if you can find them.

  • I had Home Depot install a central air conditioning unit in my home. There are cooling lines that run in my attic. At a later date I had a new roof installed. The shingles were hammered in with nails that punctured the cooling lines and cause a coolant leak. When I turned on the air this summer it didn't work.
My ac repair main explained why there was a leak and it was due to the nail holes because the lines were run too close to the attic roof.

Home Depot customer services has been less than helpful and required me to post on their facebook page to finally get a response. They don't feel they are libel for this and offered a gift card only if I sign a form releasing them from any legal action.

  • I called the customer service call center because of a stain on my year and a half old carpeting. I talked to six different people. Not one person was able to locate a contract for my carpeting, which has a ten year warrenty. Instead of offereing to call me back I was place on hold for thirty min. Then told to go to the store because she did not know what to do...Why is it that everyone that works for Home Depots answer is I don't know? I have had nothing but problems with this company and this puts the icing on the cake. Horrible Service is putting it mildly.

  • today august 20, 2010 i went to your store to retune a degective faucet purchased a few months ago with the american standard brand. I did not keep my reciept because usually you don't purchase that type of product often or you would assume so. The guy in the kitchen was too busy so after 15 minutes of waiting he told me to go to the plumbing department. The guy at the plumbing department asked me why I came to see him.I told him that the guy from kitchens told me to come over here. He rolled hia eyes and let out a big sigh.He made me wait for 10 minutes and told me to call american standard and they would issue a po number and that the store would replace it. so I went to the front counter and called american standard and waited for 45 minutes to do his job.i presented a referal number to find out that they have none in stock and that the model was discontinued. turns out it's not he was just trying to brush me off. I said what do i do now je sais pas!!I don't know..he said why don't you buy a Moen. that's his answer no calss and no training. I asked him to call his manager, he did and the manager said the same thing, je sais pas""now i have no faucet which was supposed to be guaranteed for life, no service and no help. your store sucks Reno depot is much ,much, better can't wait until the new one goes up!!!!!

  • Hello, The Home Depot in Longview, Tx has the worst service that I have ever dealt with. You almost have to trip one of the employees to get any service. I visited the store today to purchase a water heater. The only guy that did stop didnt know anything about water heaters, so he said he would get the help I needed. The same guy does show back up but couldnt tell me if they are glass lined. I think it would be nice to send a under cover employee to the store and see it for your self, Then go next door and see how the Lowes employees rate. You will be surprised. You lost a $400 dollar sell. And it is not just today, Its like that everytime I go there. To day is the last. Thank you.

  • Their is NO customer service at Home Depot @ Home Services division! I ordered 8 replacement windows on 5/26/10 and as of 8/14/10 I still do not have a finished set of windows. Here are the problems I have run into:

    1) Took day off of work for install, no one showed up or called. After leaving many voice mails I finally connected with Home Depot

    2) Two weeks later, another installer shows up but the windows are the wrong size, one needed to be CUT to fit the frame and two others left GAPS between the window - a Saturday lost

    3) Two weeks later, the windows show up but one is broken - another Saturday lost

    4) Two weeks later, the last window shows us but it's THE WRONG SIZE AGAIN - Saturday morning lost (this was today)

    5) All along the process, I have had to chase customer service for updates, scheduling, etc.

My conclusion is that Home Depot replacement windows are so inexpensive because you, as the customer, have to put up with TERRIBLE service and MONTHS of delays. In my case, it might be even longer as I still don't have a completed set. YET, Home Depot has charged my credit card for a completed job several weeks ago.

  • Dear Person

My wife and I attempted to purchase 104 yds of carpet from your store on Georgia St. in Amarillo Texas on July 12, 2010. We were told that a person will contact us in 1 to 2 business days. Five days later I called the store to see when the carpet measuring person would be here. I had paid up front for this service.

On July 20 your carpet estimator measured our home and told me that he would report the estimate to Home Depot. On July 23 I stopped by the store and spoke to an associate in flooring. He could not tell me what the status was of my order and sent me to your special order desk. They in turn could not tell me where my order was.

On July 26 I called the store to find out what was going on with our order. I talked to someone named Rudy who said he would get back that day. He did not. The next day I tried to reach Rudy and got no response. My wife then called the store manager to inqurire what was going on. Finally we got a call form your associate Angie who written up the order originally. She said she would get back to me with a quote which she did.

I told Angie I had to transfer funds to my checking account because the estimate came in higher than we expected. I then in a subsiquent call asked how much did Home Depot needed down. Her response wa that they needed the toatal amount. I replied that was unacceptable. I told her that nobody who understands business pays the complete price for a contracted job. Standard procedures call for half up front and pertentages for the remainder of the work. Your associate could not answer my protest. We exchanged words and I called the store manager. I do not remember his name, he said he was new. He was very uncooparative. He engaged me and tried to tell me I was emotional and he did not care about my business.

OK, I do not care about Home Depot.

Hope you read this and perhaps look into how Home Depot does business in Amarillo.

  • I will never order online from HD again! I waited 2+ weeks for an order that was supposed to ship 2-5 days after placing. Furthermore, after trying to cancel the shipment, they finally contact and say it has already shipped! I needed this product asap, was in the middle of remodeling, so I decided I would just take it once it arrived. When it arrived, it was damaged!!! HD said I would have to re-order and do a full return for the damaged pieces. And wait another 2-3 weeks. Bad, bad, bad. I will stick to Lowe's. After reading these and other horror stories online, I will never do business with them again!!!

  • Needed to special order a screen door for an Anderson door. Was kept on the phone for 45 minutes before I could get the information they needed about the door. Couldn't contact the person again until 1:00pm the following day. Went into the store to get the screen and was told to wait at a middle desk; saw workers walking around and talking; seats were I had to wait were dirty so I stood. After 15 minutes, I looked for someone and found the same talking a a corner. They told another worker walking down the aisle to help me. He was a little out of joint with the other two workers. We get to the computer to order based upon the information given to me by the store. It is obvious that he doesn't know the computer ordering system. I give him the order number and he says wait. I wait. He askes questions about the door and what side the hinge is on and I give it to him. He continues to work the computer system, get angry at the screen ???? After 15 minutes I say stop it ok. He proceeds to tell another worker who comes up that I ask for a slidding glass door.. and that I didn't know what I wanted. I left without comment. Thank god I'm older and wiser. The store is out of a customer and money. I will go to Lowes or Orchard from this day on... There are some serious human resource problems with the store.

  • Purchased a $195.00 lawnmower on June 13th, 2010. Used once without problems. Attempted to use the unit a second time, one week later when it died out. Added gasoline to no avail. Returned unit to store, they sent it out to repair and came back with an estimate of $273.00 to repair a $195.00 unit. Less than 1 month later, they still have the unit and offered to "give" me 1/2 the purchased credit towards another unit. That is not a solution! Home Depot is a rip off company and I will never do business with them again. I urge others to be wary when dealing with them. They do not honor their own policies.

  • We had a dishwasher installed by Home Depot. They didn't tighten the supply hose, and it ended up flooding the kitchen on 6/17/2010. My local store has been very helpful, but they have used a company called VTK who have really been impossible to work with. They refuse to schedule their appts, just expecting us to sit here day after day and wonder if they are going to show up. They make mistake after mistake, meaning that what should have been completed by 6/23 or so is still not complete.

VTK sent a plumber out 6 hours after we called to tighten the connector. They then sent a company out 22 hours later to put fans and dehumidifiers in the home. By now the ceiling in the downstairs bath, and the floor in the kitchen were saturated, despite our best efforts to try and clean up as much water as possible. We were assured that our home would be returned to the condition it was in prior to the flood.

The kitchen floor had been installed on 6/15/2010. It had to be ripped up. The ceiling in the downstairs bath had to be partially removed. The fans and dehumidifiers ran Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - 24/7. My electric bill is 70% higher than last month and almost that from last year. A patch needed to be installed in the subflooring. This meant the dishwasher needed to be removed. It is still sitting in the dining room. They did not plug the hole that the dishwasher drains into in the garbage disposal, andl while doing dishes, we found out that we were again flooding the same area. It only took about 4 hours to get a plumber to take care of it this time.

In the meantime, the ceiling downstairs was patched, and VTK was arrogant enough to decide that the ceiling should be different than what it was. All of my ceilings are swirled, but VTK doesn't have anyone who knows how to do it properly, so they decided they would paint the ceiling with sand paint. When they were told that the sand had to come off, it was not acceptable, they did scrape of the sand and proceed to slap a very thick layer of mud on the ceiling and make the most horrible mess out of the "swirls" you have ever seen. That was on Saturday 6/26/2010. They assured me that they would be back today 6/29/2010 to sand the ceiling down and paint it and that would fix it. Of course they didn't show up.

The people to install the floor did show up however. They put a layer of rapid set cement over the patched area (took 15 minutes), and then went to breakfast while it set. OK - they came back and started installing the floor. The original floor took 5 1/2 boxes to complete, but the guys only brought 5 boxes, saying they could stretch it to make it work. They ended up using the extra box that I hadn't yet taken back, but they still aren't done. The first half of the floor went pretty well, but then they guys started rushing because they were told they had to be back at base by 6 pm. When we told them that they were getting sloppy, and the last row was not straight, they ripped out the last two rows and left. They say they will be back in the morning. Somehow I am not very confident they will be.

  • I am an excellent customer of the NMB Home Depot. When returning a small item today, some went back on my credit card and then $1.07 had to be given to me in a store credit. I asked for the manager, WILLIAM, explained to him the situation and he refused to just put the $1.07 back on my credit card. The old manager, Kevin or even one of the other managers who know me well, I am sure would have made the allowance immediately. FYI: I told the manager, WILLIAM afterwards that for $1.07 he lost a good customer and I will no longer shop at that HD and will go to Oakwood where I know they treat you better. Totally appalled with this over $1.07...your manager needs to learn how to read his customer and when to make an allowance. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!

  • I purchased a riding mower on line from Home Depot and I still have not received it three weeks later. I have called and e-mailed customer service and all I have gotten were promises to check into problem and get back to me. Well needless to say neither has happened. I have spent my last penny with Home Depot and it is a shame because they have a store 5 miles from me,but I will drive the twenty to Lowes from now on..All I needed was a realistic delivery date and they cannot even do that. They do not return calls or supply any information...No wonder they are losing market share,it is a lousy, ill run poorly managed store.

  • I have had the ultimate fun with Home Depot over the past three days. I must preface that I am a part time real estate investor with a bit over 38 real estate rentals in residential communities to date. I have even the nice Home Depot card with a 5K limit that used to be a $25K limit from Citibank even though my credit rating was above 800. First day sent a contractor into the store in Woodstock, GA off of Hwy. 92 on a WED. He returns after having a color match done on a item only to have it NOT match and waste over $300 of paint that was needed to touch up in the house. The only way to tell at times is to give it 24 hours to fully dry against the grain. He went back the next morning, same process - wrong again and even worse color from Antique White (a burnished yellow color) is now a SICKLY pukish green after drying. I then returned the 6 + gallons of paint after I finished a long day of work in the legal field and arrived at Home Depot about 8:40 p.m., I left the store at 10:30 p.m. (Yep, 30 minutes after it closed) without ONE word of apology and the fact that I left CARRYING 2 FIVE GALLON BUCKETS of paint guaranteed to match to my nice Lexus RX450h, thanks for the help to the car Home Depot!
Afterwards next day and six hours in, have renters coming for final and lease agreement - only now the colors are worse and more sickly green then ever! I call the store and the brilliant manager there named Mark (who I am guessing got his position by shortest straw or lowest IQ score most likely, he has nothing to ever fear from MENSA asking him for membership) then says he is sorry and that he has NEVER heard of anything like this before and I went on to explain that I have spent more than five hours of my own time handling this as well as wasting another 40 + of hired contractors time to put up the paint as a touch up. HIS brilliant idea is one of two things - either to bring it back in again and waste more time and he repeatedly stated that he doubted it would work to color match it or to just buy more paint which he would help to comp instead of a return so I could do the ENTIRE HOUSE instead of a touch up to house from a previous renter. I then called Home Depot customer service (or NO SERVICE as Clark Howard is correct in addressing them) and guess what - CHARLIE at Customer Service thinks that Mark is right and that is the only solutions and I should be happy - forget about the many hours wasted and thousands lost if I have to spend a couple of extra days and five more workers to paint the entire house a color matching the Exorcist Movie... I then asked to be escalated to someone above Charlie - he states repeatedly on the recorded call (for some reason he thought that me recording was against his right and he didn't like the fact that his words might be used or that GEORGIA is a one party state, get over it Charlie - hate your shirt too, but you still get to wear it) Charlie informs me that until this is finished he will not transfer to anyone else even if I can't stand him - I tell him thanks for proving the fact that you are litigious and I can now charge treble (triple damages in both items as well as punitive requests and full legal costs incurred) for those actions. After a 130 minute phone call I then hung up since this was going nowhere and just resolved to turn it over to a paralegal on Monday and let a junior start the proceedings, funny part - took same sample to LOWE's and guess what - first try; left with TEN GALLONS of paint and worked like a charm...Even the paint manager mentioned that I was the third or fourth THAT WEEK that had mentioned the problems with Home Depot color matching and that they had ALL dealt with the managers and lack of service before leaving. Worst part still, I am a stockholder and think I will short this stock even if I lose the 283K just to punish them and drive them down. Thanks again Home Depot, was a supporter; but you not only lost me - but the other 38 properties including my own personal one where I believe my credit card bill for last year totalled about $ 86K in total...great advertisement for LOWE's ...just show ticked off Home Depot customers who are getting more fed up with them and problems. Worst still, I am not some dumb redneck mouth breather here and I have actual a good supply of resources that I can play with for liesure (that I have earned), the first is to start litigation, next to start a junior associate first year as a PR person and start issuing press releases of a new campaign and why against Home Depot including methinks paying some out of work or even handicapped people to march near the Vinnings building...how's that for a start?

  • I had signed up 7 kids for a picket fence plant holder workshop, with mother's day being the next day. When we got there we were early and excited, until we got to the front of the line where we were told we had to do a hockey picture frame.I drove an hour and a half to get there for this i was pissed,i told the lady there this is not what we signed up for.She told me they ran out, however walking by the table we saw a full box.I thought she missed this and asked if we can trade projects since i had 5 girls with me and 1 boy,she said no and it was because we weren't there before, but the other girl I had signed up for wasn't there before either, but guess what she got to build a picket fence. There were people walking in that haven't gone before because I was at the first table and I could hear and see that she was passing them out.I just held my breath because I had children there and it was bad enough they were disappointed,I didn't feel like expressing this to them at that moment. What I don't understand is if we signed up for picket fences holders why didn't she give them to us,I do not feel this was fair to me,my kids or their friends. If a man signs up for floor installation, would he be put in drywall. We were never ever told there were limited projects and obviously they weren't because they had a box.I really wish I had saved the woman's name but I will never the face that put so many disappointed faces on kids on May 8,2010 at a picket fence pot holder workshop, in Sydney,Nova Scotia.

They sent inept repairmen that incorrectly diagnosed problem, damaged my new cabinets, ordered the wrong parts. Then said the correct parts aren't available. Then they became available but they ordered the wrong parts. They didn't show up to appopintment 3 times ( lost three days of work ). There's still no end in sight. So much for extended warrantees. Cust service reps are sarcastic. They restarted process repeatedly with new incident numbers they won't commit to an end date for resolution. I'll never buy an appliance at H.D. again.

  • I spoke to 17 people over a period lasting three hours. The generator set costing 4,000 dollars came missing parts. We were told to call an electrical supply house in Phoenix and order the missing parts. I learned years ago not to get excited at this, but to just call again until you get some one who is better trained.

Funny the people whose daily life is to fix problems actually spend most of their time trying to run off the customer.

It starts with the top. and when I called the top, they just hung up.

The corporate culture at home depot is by all reasoning beyond repair.

  • Here is a copy of a letter I sent to Home Depot and have yet to get a reply....

    Hello,
I am writing this note because no one from customer service has called me back in two days regarding my complaint.

    Here is the problem:

I had Home Depot replace the windows and sliding glass doors in my house in November 2009. The overall experience was OK with the estimate to the installation. The problem begins with the service of replacing a broken door handle under warranty.
We called Home Depot about the broken handle and the rep said it would take some time to order. This is fine and to be expected and when the part arrived we made an appointment to be at home for the contractor after 4pm on Tuesday 4/13/2010.
Well the contractor did not show up or call.
We called the Home Depot customer service and left a message on Wednesday 4/14/2010. No one returned that call.
We called again on Thursday 4/15/2010 and actually got a return call back. Your customer service rep told us that the contractor had left the door handle at our house at 9:00am on Wednesday 4/14/2010. Obviously he did not and I would not expect to have to replace the handle myself when it is under warranty.
OK so now is when it gets interesting. We received a call from the contractor Thursday after being lied to earlier by your customer service rep and he said he did not leave the handle at the residence but would be by to install it on Friday 4/16/2010 between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Again, he did not show up or make a simple phone call to let us know he was not coming.
On Saturday 4/17/2010 we received a phone call from the contractor at 5:45pm saying he would be at our house around 6:15pm that night. When asked why he did not call on Friday to tell us he would not be there his response was he did not have a phone. I do not believe that for one moment.
At 6:15pm on Saturday 4/17/2010 a young man came to the house and installed the handle while the main contractor waited in the truck with the motor running. It took less than 5 minutes to fix.
When signing the work order (that I later found crumpled up in the gutter outside my house) I noticed that on the sheet the handle itself was picked up on 4/8/2010.
So it took five days for a five minute fix. Three of those days I left work early expecting the contractor to show up. I was lied to by your customer service department and your contractor and had to pick up his trash that he threw in the street upon leaving.
I really hope nothing else goes wrong with these windows because quite frankly I do not want to have to deal with Home Depots so called "customer service" again.

  • The Home Depot "north store" in Lincoln Nebraska is something else! I don't mean that in a nice way. The store "opens" at 6am. I've been at the store at that time-I've been there 3 times this month. I've been told-I can't do that return I don't have any money in my register-why don't you come back later! I had "Dave" walk away from helping me-why? He can't help until he's had his coffee. Another gal said, sorry-I don't wake up until 10am! Another employee told me-I'm not really awake-can you find someone else to ask!!!! I went to leave with my purchase and the door was locked!!!!!

  • The Home Depot in Grand Junction Colorado customer service sucks. I went in to pick up a bath tub at 7:45am and at 10 :15am was able to take it home. What a nightmare never again. Called Management what a joke, all he could say was I understand. I told him that if I was working there
I would have his store in tip top shape in one day,
    {That means he would have to work, doesnt it.}

  • Went to Home Depot in Manassas VA to buy a garage door opener. Nobody was in the dept and I asked a guy in plumbing who said to go contractor services-went there and they said I had to do to customer service who told me they couldnt help me and I had to go to millwork where there was nobody working.
Management did nothing to resolve the issue after I complained to corporate. Since that time I have spend about 3,000 at Lowes in Manassas and have had great customer service.

  • I bought a John Deere L120 lawn tractor from Home Depot several years ago, it has run well and I decided to replace the blades before spring. On Tuesday Feb. 23 2010 I went to Home Depot on Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Rd. in Rochester, N.Y.to buy new blades. I was directed by a young lady to the correct area and another employee came to help me.I told him what I needed and he directed me to a rack with several bins with JD blades marked down to $10.00,he helped me find the blades I needed and I left with two sets to pay for them. The cashier said they were $39.00 per set and I told her the sales person got them out of a bin marked sale $10.00, the clerk said she had to call the Department to check. She called and was told they were not on sale so I went to the Department where I got them and another fellow was there that identified himself as the Dept. head, I showed him where they came from and he said they were not the ones that were on sale, I ask him to show me the bin where these should have been and he said, there was not one there and that he would not sell them to me for the marked price. He said he did not have to do it and he wasn't going to. I said that I probably wouldn't be shopping in Home Depot anymore and he said thats OK with him.

  • Signed a contract with THD in May, 2009, for install of whole-house Hurricane Impact windows and doors manufactured by Traco. It is now February 2010, and the job is not nearly complete after many attempts. Many manufacturing and installation defects, too numerous to recount. A terrible product, accompanied by incompetent installers.

  • I have been a loyal HD customer for years. But last night, I tried to purchase a Dewalt mitre saw in the daily online auction. Despite multiple attempts, HD wouldn't accept my $342.00 bid & I lost out on the saw. So I call their 1-800 number and the lady admits they're having ongoing problems with the site. She basically tells me tough luck, 'you're not getting the saw'. Hmmm - doesn't HD realize that they'd be well advised to resolve the issue then tell me to pound sand? I spend 1000's every year their but i'm starting to question the company when they can't stand by me when I have a problem.

As far as I can tell, there's no one picking up the phone at HD that really cares about the customer. I think i'll be spending my money & taking numerous other HD customers that are friends of mine - elsewhere. The full cost here? Addressing my concern would cost HD $157.00 based on the retail price of the saw. The true cost to them in lost business will be massive in comparison.

  • I have been trying to have my LG dryer fixed for over a month. I have spent endless hours on hold trying to get someone to help me. I purchased an extended warranty. My original call for service was made on 12/31/09. Today is 1/26/10 my dryer is still not fixed. Buyer beware do not buy appliances from Home Depot.

    Anonymous 1/26/10 8:22AM

  • The Home Depot, LG and A&E Service are a group of crooks who knowingly sell worthless extended warranties. We have been without our dryer for over three weeks now and have been lied to and jacked around over service we paid for up front. As far as we are concerned, they have no scruples at all about misleading people and convincing them to shell out extra money to receive service for faulty appliances. I have called everyone from customer service to client relations and no one is accepting responsibility for these problems. I am sick of this and will never purchase anything else from Home Depot. As far as I am concerned, Lowe's beats Home Depot hands-down on customer service.

  • Home Depot charged me a late fee of $39 because I was late making the minimum payment of $10, on a balance of $170. As a long time customer who has spent a great deal of money at Home Depot, and can't recall ever being late on a payment before, I refuse to be treated this way. I called Home Depot Credit Customer Service and they refused to waive the charge. Because of their inability to take care of this good customer, I am paying off the balance of the card and closing my account with them.

  • Customer Service Problems
I was a loyal and dedicted shopper of Home Depot for over 25 years until Nov 13th 2009. On that day,the word, CUSTOMER SERVICE in that store, went out the door. The company statement of the CEO Mr. Frank Blake (see the following excerpt)
    FACT CHECK: CUSTOMER SERVICE
The Home Depot was founded on the principles of providing a great customer experience.
OK so what happend that changed me from a loyal and dedicted 25 years shopper to a Lowes or Ace or any local hardware store.
My brother Steve and I went looking for a lawn mower at a Home Depot near our home. The mower we wanted was a Honda modle HRR216VXA with a $400.00 cost. When we got to the store the associate told us they just sold a recondition Honda for $275.00 but we could buy one of there new ones for $400.00 Well with todays ecomony who would not like to save? He suggested we travel to the Home Depot store #1055 Newhall Ranch Rd Santa Clarita he checked the computer they had 9 new ones in stock which so we would have a good chance they might have a recondition in stock. That store is a 60 mile round trip but for that savings it was worth it.
The store had a recondition one in stock but the manager and ( I don't want to tell you his name) refused to sell it to us stating he was going to sell all 9 of his new ones and he called it a floor model. I told him that was not a floor model it was recondition as stated on the machine by the Mfg. He said if I want that machine it would be $400.00 not $275.00 I asked to talk to Home Depot the person I talked to called the store while I was on hold and said there nothing she could do. I said I traveled 60 miles just for all my time and gas could she make an exception for customer service sale it to us for the recondition price. The answer was no. My brother did not want the mower even if she would have done the right thing because of all the time and frustration we had. We went 2 blocks to Lowes our shopping experience was great and purchased a mower.

  • The Freeport Long Island Store has become one of the worst stores in the area. Try and find an associate. The alawys seem conjure together to talk about their hours or lack of or to lQQk at the girls. Even the few that truly work have comment's about them.
Most all times I find in impossible to get help especially later at night when I'm shopping after work.
Associates really lack the knowledge of their products. They tell you an item will takes 7 days for delivery, you purchase the item and when you go to call to check on delivery they tell you 42 days. The "NOT VALID FOR MERCHANDISE CARRY-OUT" stamp that runs thru the purchase ticket on an angle runs right over the date making it almost invisble to see even the store customer service could not see it, leaving you with only the lead time provided by the associate as your guide for the start of your project.
Purchased a jacuzzi tub. Was told that I didn't need to spend the $500 for a built-in heater, that I could purchase one for $200 and install myslef. I finished the bathroom and after a year or so I waited for the next project allowing me to install the separate circuit I needed for the heater. Went back to buy it and was told I could not install one and that the manufacturer does not sell any after market heater. So know I have two rooms that cannot be finished, a a jacuzzi tub with no heater.

  • Home Depot is the most disorganized company regarding customer complaint files I have ever had to deal with. I have had a n issue with them for over 6 months and contact them every 48 hours. Everytime I speak with someone they don't have any authority to correct the problem, they assure me that the person who does will call me back in 24 to 48 hours... still not resolved.
If you spend your money there and aren't holding exactly what you are paying for (blinds, carpet, special order etc) you are out of your mind.

  • Do not use contractors from Home Depot. I purchased flooring for $2500, complained about some bubbles in the flooring. Contractor came out twice. Final time decided it was their fault. They stapled my floor in about 500 places, cut 2 large holes in my floor and then walked away. So now I have an embarrassing destroyed floor to look at everyday, with no support from Home Depot.

I came into the store with a particularly difficult woodworking question, and Tony not only helped me brainstorm a creative solution to my problem--but also taught me a few tricks for making my project perfect. I found him not only to be professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful--but also a downright nice guy! If everyone at Home Depot had Tony's attitude, the company would be on my "top 10" list of best-run companies in the US. Thank you, Tony!!

  • We recently purchased a home in VA Beach and needed appliances and a host of other items totally well over $5,000. We visited several other stores but came back to Home Depot because of the excellent service and attentiveness of the staff at both the Nimmo store and particularly the Elson Avenue store. We found the staff and management of the Elson Avenue store to be exceptionally service oriented and attentive/responsive to our needs. So our $5K+ was spent at Home Depot rather than one of your competitors. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The manager Mr. Abbey and asst. manager Carmine helped us solve several complicated problems that were not of the store's making. They both went above and beyond to assist us and make it a pleasant and professional experience. It is the best service we have ever received in any store of any kind in the home goods/services category. The follow-up was exceptional when one of your vendors shipped us an incomplete order. The store jumped in and corrected the problem without hesitation. We are relocating full-time to VA Beach and will become regular and faithful customers of Home Depot due to the diligence and attentiveness of the staff and managedment at the Elson Avenue store. They are the BEST we have ever encountered anywhere.

  • My husband and I visited Home Depot in Massena NY on Aug.24, 2010. We asked for some assistance to help use with a couple of heavy items from the young man at the door and he said he would call someone to help us, well needless to say no one came and about 6 employees walked right by us and never asked if they could help until finally a young man by the name of Brek M. came by ans asked if he could help us, we were about to say to heck with it and go elsewhere to purchase what we needed. Brek went out of his way to help us get the items to our car and even helped move things around so everything would fit. He was very polite and is really an asset to your store. Another person who was very friendly and polite was a lady by the name of Julie at the check out. In fact we have shopped at Home Depot many times in the past and she is the only one that has ever asked if we would like to open up a charge card, Julie went out of her way to help us with the application, and at the same time always smiling and making us feel like she really cared about the customer, she is an asset to your company as well. Would you please take a moment and give Julie and Brek a pat on the back and say "Job well done". Thank you Vicky Peo

I went to the lumber department because the project involved wood. I asked a vague question to Jim who was walking by. He completely understood the question of a novice. He walked with me to the paint department, showed me where the wood putty was and told me how to use it. He asked me about my project. He suggested ways in which I could make the project easier. (May I mention I'm a grandmother - a customer class that in other stores experiences condescension...old and female.) Jim's suggestions were spot on! Please try to give some thanks to this employee. He significantly improved my day!!

He noticed that I was having a hard time finding what I needed because I did'nt know how much my project was involved. Well needless to say after I told him what I wanted to do, he showed me all the parts that I needed and he also told me how to install them. I would like for Mike to be rewared for his exemplary customer service skills and for being such a really nice and decent person. • My husband and I visited the Home Depot in Pace Florida on Sunday April 24th and had a very good experience.
As we entered the paint department a lady immeciately asked if she could help us find anything. We told her what we wanted and she (didn't point to that direction, like most places do.)walked us to the area we needed to be in. She asked us some questions about what we needed it for and then began showing us everything she had that would work for our situation, she made sugesstions and stayed with us until we were satisfied. You don't find this kind of service much anymore so we were very impressed. When we started to leave I thanked her and told her we would be coming back for more needs and she wrote her name on a business card (Rhonda) and asked us to see her that she would love to help us. During our conversation with her I complimented her service and she gave all the credit to Home Depot. She said this is just Home Depot. She said Home Depot is a company that appreciates the customer and wants them to be happy. I've worked with the public many years and in my supervisor position have hired many employees and this it the kind of people I like to hire for my company. The company cannot be successful without employees who take pride in their work. The employees are the ones that make the company what it is. I wanted to write because people are quick to respond to a negative situation but not to a positive one.
I'm a happy Home Depot Customer.

We live in Oregon and were in need of 7 more tiles, but were told by nationwide customer service that there were none left in the USA. While visiting Arizona, we stopped at #413 and Mr. Kline helped us by searching the Phoenix area, calling each store that showed inventory, and finally found that store # 420 actually did have the tile that we needed in the stock. Instead I went to the store and asked mthe mgr. of the dept. if I was doing anything wrong. He assured me that I did everything again so go home and try again. Well the next morning I bought the machine back to the store with yhe intention on getting a refund. John Pearson a well informed and polite sales associate helped me figure out the problem. It was a broken sprayer wane. He did a thorough job checking each and evrything to make sure it worked properly. Being a retired flight attendant I can easily recoginize excptional customer service skills. He deserves a promotion. He did a better job than the manager of the grden center. Thanks for a job well done. My faith has been restored in Home Depot.

  • After reading the comments here, I was leary about calling Home Depot. Now that I have called them, I don't understand all the negative comments about HD Customer Service. I found them to be very kind and helpful. I would not hesitate to contact them again if I had a problem with one of their products. I can't help wondering if the problem was with the consumers. Keep up the good work HD!

  • I stopped shopping at Home Depot because of the customer service. I chose to shop at Lowe's instead where the experience has always been more positive. Well, I have to report that I went into the Hope Depot store (#1013) in Redlands yesterday 4/4/10.....and what a surprise!
I had a gentleman by the name of Robert Morehead assist me. I could not have asked for a more pleasant, helpful, willing to go out of your way (even though it was not his department), friendly and professional person. This is what I would call a very "good customer service experience". Wow, this man needs to be commended for changing my mind about shopping at Home Depot. All your stores need to have people like Mr. Morehead working there.

  • On the 25 of March, I returned a copy of my purchase receipt, 5 years ago, on a patio set that I bought, and it had a 7 year warrenty. I took pictures of the table. The frame cracked, they told me, from not taking it inside in the winter. I said the warrenty did not require that. Ione of the Fargo N.D.store was extremely pleasant, helpful and did a through job of investigating my warrenty. She worked to get me a new table. I am very pleased, and thank her and others that were involved.

  • I went into the Westminster, MD. store to buy a new mower, thinking maybe Zero Turn type. The employee, Brian Baumgardener, knew his products and pointed out some safety problems I might have on my hilly ground. After telling him more about my circumstances and what I was trying to accomplish, we looked at all the other mowers on display and he knew his products specs, capabilities and characteristics. I finally settled on a Cub Cadet, but the model they displayed did not have a Kawasaki engine that I wanted. He checked on future deliveries, took my name and phone number and called me the next day making me aware that the mower I wanted had arrived. Home Depot is very fortunate to have a knowledgable Brian Baumgardener as an employee who CARES, who FOLLOWS UP, and makes SALES. He obviously understands CUSTOMER SERVICE! Super job Brian! Thanks!

  • I would like Home Depot to know what a wonderful young man,Blas Esqueda, you have at your Lubbock, Texas (50th & University) store. Blas Esqueda was God sent in helping us with our washer & dryer order we made in the Midland, Texas store on Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving. We just now recieved our order and I truly believe without Blas' help, we would still not have the order corrected. I was sooo mad at Home Depot, because the order was suppose to be a Christmas gift and we did not receive it til 2/5/2010. But after working with Blas, I am now a happy satisfied customer. He made it very difficult to be upset with how our order was mishandled (and believe me, we were upset). He has a calming demenor about him which made us feel like we were the only customer in the world and we had his undivided attention (and we did not even order from his store) but he took it upon himself to clean up another store's mess. We felt like you needed to know what an asset he is to your company and hopefully you will reward Blas is some manner.

    Respectfully submitted,

  • I would like to share with you how pleased I was with the help, assistance and advices given by sales associate Sasha Przulj in Etobicoke Home Depot store, North Queen Street, Toronto.

Last week I was in Etobicoke Home Depot store. I did not have intention to buy anything, just to see what they have on sale. I asked one of sale associates to help me find something from a flyer. Very routine question, expecting the same routine answer from him. How I was wrong! Sasha Przulj ( the name of this young associate) not only helped me find what I was looking for! Not only that I bought it, but I bought 4 additional products.

Sasha’s response was fast, very professional, extremely customer oriented (I left the store with 5 purchased products, feeling happy because of it), very knowledgeable, explaining everything on easy to understand way. Sasha Przulj is, for sure, a big asset to Home Depot.

I will be back in store soon, happy to spend my money in place where sales staff treats me respectful.

Big Kudos to Sasha and Etobicoke Home Depot store.

  • Had miniblinds that no longer worked and went to store in Virginia Beach for help. Was helped by Lynn McGinty and she not only got me a free replacement but also replaced 5 other blinds that were purchased at the same time. She went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied and is a great example of wonderful customer service.

  • I had GREAT service from Rudy in the lumber section at Home Depot at
    480 E Hamilton Ave
    Campbell, CA 95008-0210.

He was so helpful and nice to my son-in-law and I. We needed lumbar to repair fence - my son-in-law is learning English - and Rudy was very helpful, spent time explaining and choosing the best piece of wood, and had great sense of humor. He deserves a commendation!

  • While my friend Ben Morse and myself L. J. Slater was at the Millinium Mall store in Orlando FL. on July 23rd, 2009, we recieved excellent services from your staff. Kevin who we thought was a customer because he didn't have an apron on, he was on his lunch and assisted us with a heavy item. This was great, he took time from his lunch to help us.
Heidi and Candance were equally helpful. They not only answered our questions but took us to the locations and continually followed up to make we had everything we needed.
I commend Home Depot and the above staff for their exceptional customer service.

    Sincerely Ben and Slater
