Microsoft has decided to block our domain from sending e-mails to @hotmail/@live etc due to namespace mining behaviour. We run a medical facility and are ofcourse not doing any of this, the behaviour is probably caused by somebody else using the same IP (we use a host). The idiots of microsoft seem unable to distinguish within a host whether someone is abusing the system. Due to this, we are punished for someone elses behaviour. If you mail, you receive an answer from people who have no idea what they are doing. It drives us crazy.

Agreed Hotmail is terrible! Forgot my password tried to go through steps to recover account twice bit does not give you time to answer required info, times you out first. Now I can't get into my Facebook either. Hotmail is an epic failure!!!!

I think outlook is trying to charge customers fir the use of the account. I just got off the phone with customer service and was told they would help me protect my account for a charge. I have had several incidents where someone was trying to hack my account. I am going to cancel the account with them now and have to add another server I guess. Sadly I have had the account for a number of years.

Request for a password change made me mention every damn detail of my other e-mail ID in the garb of verification process, waiting time 24 hours. Can't access my account now. This is despite them having my phone no. No telephonic support. Pathetic experience after holding this account since 2001. Feel bad that I have to do away with account..this being my first e-mail id.

I've held a Hotmail account for 15 years, but since last year, I've been getting locked out of the account whenever I travel. To unlock the acct, I had to go through their verification process. I was ok with this when it happened for the first time, but not for the subsequent next 8-9 times.

Microsoft's dealing of its users are beyond reasonable. For example, I travelled to New Zealand - was locked out in Auckland - went through their steps to unlock the acct. Then, a few days later in another city in NZ I was locked out again (This is where Microsoft security lacks total common sense - as it should be obvious that I was travelling around the country).

This continually being locked out while in NZ was creating some inconvienience and cost me financially with respect to booking airlines, hotels etc.

So now, I'm locked out again after travelling from NZ to New Caledonia - only this time - they tell me I haven't provided enough info to "prove my identity." Strange how after "proving my identity with the same info all the previous times to unlock the acct - they now state I haven't proven my identity.

I'm totally disgusted with these narrow minded and draconian Microsoft people and their lack of empathy for creating so much hardship for travellers. They've become such a bloated organization that they've forgotten how to provide good service.

I have been trying to recover my 18 year old hotmail account with a lack of any concern from Microsoft, for 3 weeks. I've completed 8 of their on-line questionnaires that supposedly is read and will reinstate your hotmail account. I"ve completed the questionnaire 8 times and it is always returned to me via email, saying they don't have enough information.
Today, I telephoned Microsoft and their solution was for me to fill out another questionnaire. I asked to speak with a department manager. I was created and then the phone line went dead. This, after waiting for 42 minutes to talk to someone.

I will never deal with Microsoft again. I"ll complete my device purchases with Apple, where the customer is still valued.

Microsoft Hotmail/Outlook is simply worthless garbage and a trap for any adult who travels. Your email account will be blocked whenever you travel outside of your immediate area. This is of course is exactly when you can least afford to lose contact with people, and not be able to access your account. The steps that Microsoft forces on you, are ridiculous, time consuming, prone to error (try remembering the Subject Header of Sent Emails several days later). Even when I have provided an accurate password, answer to security question, names of Folders created by me in my account, contacts of recently sent emails, etc. things that only I would know this is what you will get sent back to you:

"We recently received a request to recover your Microsoft account [email protected]. Unfortunately, our automated system has determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership."

Microsoft's Automated System is the unsophisticated joke that initiates the blocking of your account, so it should be no surprise that it is unable to determine with any degree of accuracy that you are the legitamate owner of the account. Support on this is useless.

Once you have experienced this you will regret the day you ever put your trust in Microsoft to be me your email provider.

Hotmail/Outlook is literally THE WORST emailing system I've ever used. I've used quite a few and hotmail is the most annoying and unnessacary of them all. Every time I want to check something in my email or sometimes even get into my account, it tells me to verify my information and right now I am in the midst of waiting 30 days for my security information to be changed. And until then, I cannot access any billing information that maybe connected to hotmail/outlook. THAT IS VERY INCONVENIENT AND HOTMAIL NEEDS TO STEP UP ITS GAME. I REALLY DONT GET WHY HOTMAIL IS ONE OF THE MOST USED EMAILS IT SUCKS.

computer Hotmail locked by MICROSOFT as there appeared to be unusual activity.
ONE HOUR before this I was alerted by a friend about a strange e'mail from me. It was suspected I had been hacked. I was able to mail all my contacts before the account was locked.
The problem has got worse over the last two and a half weeks.I completed numerous forms to verify i was the account holder only to be rejected by a robot every time! Despite writing long detailed messages with information which only myself can possibly know, my specific questions are never answered or even referred to in any of the replies I have received from NINE different people in their so called customer service department.
I did set up another e'mail account to keep me going but that has caused so much hassle and stress.
I wish I had read about the terrible reputation that the customer service dept has.
What is abundantly clear is that Microsoft could't give a toss about customers
with problems . I believe they have over 4 million of us ! Complaints are fobbed of by similar scripted replies which are always polite pretending to be concerned but really do not help at all. At 76 years of age I have got to say this is the worst customer service I have ever come across . On a score of 1-10, 10 being the best, theIr rating must be more like MINUS 10.

I have decided to stop contacting Microsoft and a ranking on this site of position 819 out of 860 companies just about sums up their rating which is absolutely appalling in my mind.

I left the US and moved to the Philippines, after I got here (Philippines), I tried to get into my accounts .Could not get any help or ways to retrieve my account, because they said that I am in a different region and I might be a hacker? I do know all my passwords for each account..Can you help..My cell number in the PI as And I now have a gmail account which I hope you will contact me:: ..Please E-mail or text or call me please. Hotmail blocked my account when I was on holiday. I have submitted the recovery form (on their instructions ) about 10 times, giving all the security info asked for. Over a month now and I am awaiting some important emails. They are withholding my mail and without the contact details I cannot reach the accounts linked through my email address. If I could speak with a real person that would be a start. I am absolutely disgusted.

I am not happy with the new updates! They are not user friendly. And I don't know how to get rid of the irritating adverts. Since the new update my phone application keeps crushing,I can't use it properly,does not allow me to delete more than 1 email at the same time. I am really dissapointed!!!

Beyond bad. I can't understand how MSN can not get basic emails right in the 21st century. It takes so long to get to my inbox it insists (of course) to use its cutesy American-style "starting", "almost there", "just about" instead of just opening the damn page. It tells me after yet another pop-up about new features that are useless (it can't get the basics right; why would I want to know about its latest 'features'?) that I have Ad-Block on. OF COURSE! It's to get rid of the 3/5 of wasted space on the page, as well as its damn pop-ups! Nothing works, search is screwed up. It is with tremendous satisfaction that no-one talks about MSN anymore- they all assume it's either dead or on its last legs.

New "upgrades" for my Hotmail/Outlook account are unsolicited, unhelpful, and unwelcome. You've adopted the features of GMail I like the least, like wasting screen space on peripheral lists/clutter, and crowding out the e-mail I'm actually trying to read, edit, or create. Why have you made it so difficult to edit image size now? If you don't have any ideas for real improvement just leave well enough alone. Like so many sound techs my band has had to endure who, after getting us the mix we want, have to keep tweaking knobs and pushing sliders to either occupy themselves or justify their jobs, some Microsoft nerds who are nervous about job security keep moving the furniture around and tripping the people who occupy this space. Take a pill, pencil necks.

Microsoft outlook at live hotmail has locked out my email by requiring I change my password. This was not my request and no reason was given. I have had my contact details changed since setting up this email with hot mail, hence I had no need to remember the password. Now l am locked out of my email address with no ability to reactivate it. Now comes the fun part and I am being facetious, I am overseas and require my email for communication. The support provided by Microsoft is nonexistent as I have not been able to get any help to provide a temporary password either by online services or by phone. This has impacted on a holiday we had been planning for years, so any immediate assistance would be appreciated.

The only time I am able to access my Hotmail account is when I am at my desk at work. If I try to use it at my own computer at home I am denied access, if I travel out of town and try to use a public library computer I am denied access, if I am at a friends' house I am denied access. The phone number on my account is the one at my work desk, so I can't even get a code if I'm not at work. I never used to have this problem and it is very frustrating. I just hate the last change they made, every thing is twice the messing about that it used to be. I am going to retire soon and will need to get a different e-mail address that I can use other places. Any ideas which of the other accounts are more user friendly?

I have used Hotmail for over 12 yrs. and the old version was so much better!! I used to rarely get smam emails and not it's a chore to delete them everyday!! Changing preferences, passwords,etc.is much more difficult to accomplish with the new version. I have numerous accounts set up with my hotmail that it will be a huge undertaking to change them all, but it truly is being considered. Why was it EVER changed?!?!

Hotmail customer service is the absolute worst. For unexplained reasons, I get blocked from my account. They ask me to submit questions to a security verification questionnaire . . . which I do . . . . and then no one at Microsoft has the decency to get back in touch with me. No phone numbers to call. If you do happen to find one where a live person answers you get the old brush off. If you chat customer service all you get is the runaround and a bunch of empty promises that the issue is being "worked" on. Worst customer service experience!

Well now I've called back a 2nd time and got some Mexican guy that really didn't want to be bothered with me and just acted all confused and really had no intention of helping me . My 1st phone call I got hung up on for no reason at all . I didn't use any bad language , I was polite . What's the deal? I guess your people figure the best way to help people is politely give them the good old brush off . Well thanks. I will definitely never waste my time on your customer service ever again. I know I don't matter ,and giving me the brush off sure isn't gonna matter to a monster company like Microsoft . By the way I just got treated I'm absolutely nothing to you people . This just sad ! And I leave you with PEACE LOVE AND ROCK N ROLL FOREVER!!!!

i want to have hotmail added to my Telikin desktop pc. i have tried a lot of places and I do not want to use it for a lot of messages.i have a windows page with attempted hotmail messages.this pc has a chrome browser and is linux.i tried other sites and 1 was a ripoff and another rejected my credit card because it had already been used on PAYPAL.THAT ELIMINATED BOTH ACCEPTABLE CARDS.
