Makita tools are built with very cheap parts, they don't last and warranty program is worthless! They don't have warranty repair shops. They want you to ship things to California for repairs, in the meantime you lose use of tool for two to six months. When you need the use of tools everyday for your business it costs thousands of dollars in loss!! But as long as they are getting rich they don't care!!!!

Makita warranty department service repair sucks!!! They've had my drill and two batteries for 6 weeks! They can tell me they have received it and nothing more! Their excuse is they are behind! They said they have no idea when they will get to it! Meanwhile I don't have the drill I use daily! DONT BUY MAKITA! Stick to Milwaukee!!! Zero stars for this company!!!

Sent my Makita saw intact to have the cord repaired. It came back in a box in parts with a note on the invoice "scrapped". That's not all it came to my address with someone else's name on it. When I asked what phone number was on file it also was not mine. This order was completely messed up. I even talked to a Supervisor by the name of "Angel" and he was not a bit of help. He said I could return it again. This is a poor way to handle Customer Service. Will NEVER buy another Makita product. Public be aware do not return anything for repairs.

No customer service, good tools bad service in Quebec. I am thinking of switching brand for better service.

Less than 8 weeks after purchasing a Makita DHP485Z, chuck was so loose, could not use drill. Contacted Makita customer service twice about warranty repair/replacement. No one has bothered getting back to me. Sad to see a former "reputable" company going down the toilet drain.

I work for a company that was a Dolmar dealer until you discontinued the name. We have been waiting since November of last year for a clutch and I have called many times about said clutch. And I was reassured that there were some coming in and We were on top of the list for it. I called today and I was told that the clutch is not on the order. I said I am holding the order in my hand and yes it is. I said it must have been deleted off the order then. He said if it was it would still show. But the part was discontinued in May and now I wont get it. I will tell people to stay away from this brand with this kind of service! Dolmar was a great brand of chainsaws until you bought them out! We have had nothing but problems with Makita since we had to deal directly with you!

The 21" self propelled cordless mower arrived with a damaged battery door. Instead of mailing me a $20 replacement part, the Makita rep wants me to bring the mower to a service center that is over an hour away. I know my time is worthless to them but it is not to me.

Saved up and bought a Makita contractor grade job site air compressor: the MAC5200, couldn't wait to get home and fire it up. Read the manual, put the oil in up to the red dot and aired it up; it ran twice and wouldn't start again. I took it back to home depot and they gave me another one, it ran five times and wouldn't start again. I called and got a run around; finally told them I had jumped the pressure switch and it ran, had them send me another switch; cost $65.00, installed it and it runs intermittently. Will never buy another Makita product as long as I live. Will pay more for something that just works. Thank you for your time. I hope your cheap endeavor with China makes you happy, because it certainly makes me sad.

Makita you need to start putting batteries and chargers with all your tools..your customer service is substandered and now it sees like all you do is charge more for your tools and give less...i used to buy makita tools all the time but now this is it..Makita has become nothing but a cash grabbing company who doe snot give a damn about the customers that made makita what it is...but now you have one less customer and many will follow with your now ridiculous prices that we pay more for tools that dont even come with batteris and a charger!!! good riddens!!!

I received a 3/8 keyless Chuck adapter for Christmas. Literally 20 minutes ago and it will not close. It was working when I checked it out but when I attached it to my driver it would not tighten around the bit. I followed the directions and hand tightened it around the bit shank but it would not tighten the rest of the way. I took it off the driver and tried to do it by hand but it would not do anything. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. It is exactly what I wanted so my husband got it for me and it doesn't work. I can't send it back because he got it a while back and he didn't keep the receipt. I would like another one that works. I don't have the heart to tell him it doesn't work. Maybe he should have gotten me a Dewalt.

Totally useless and unhelpful. Sent me out masonry drills they had ground the carbon tips completely off them. Rendering them no use for anything.
Yet they will not listen nore do they understand what the problem is. And that's from a so called technical support man.
Useless company.

Sadly I trusted Makita for all my tools, I have a plainer 2012nb, one day while plaining it became sluggish, after inspecting the machine I noticed that the chain spring tensioner had come off, I opened the side panel and saw a bent screw which was meant to hold the spring tensioner in place. the wall of the machine had a bit missing and the 1st few threads inside the wall where missing. it looks like the spring washer failed and is in the closed position. It happens to be the same part used to hold the side panel. lol, I contacted uk 1st as I did not speak the language of the country I was in, they where more helpful that Poland Makita for sure, Makita Poland told me to take it to a service center for a paid repair. Not even concerned if it was a Manufacturing problem. I think it was the last Makita product I buy. now to replace everything Makita as they cannot be trusted to help you when you need it. This from the president of Makita, At Makita, we always keep our customers in mind. They don't. buy tools from another manufacture.

sent 2 drills for repair. the regular drill was smoking. Repair was made but comments on the service ticket says "NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE". this drill is less than 4 months from purchase date and that is NOT covered. They did repair it no charge. We will see how long it lasts. The Impact service ticket says "THIS TOOL IS NOT A DRILL". "NO PROBLEM FOUND". Well the impact feature sticks. Push hard and it will impact And keeps hammering. Oh well NO MORE MAKITA tools on our Farm.

I've been running the same 5 1/2" blade on my 5005BA saw since I bought it because I've been unable to find 5 1/2" blades to fit the 5/8" arbor! 10 to 12 years now!

My company recently spent 700 + on a Makita model XBU04 cordless blower, to say it is disappointing is and understatement, one a full charge it only runs for maybe 12 minutes, thats two batteries 36 volt. DO NOT BUY THIS OVERPRICED PIECE OF TRASH , really said that Makita put this thing on the market. I sure hope somebody from this comapany sees this review and stops making this garbage.

Please stop manufacturing this thing now !!!!!!

I recently bought a Makita drop saw.
So far so good.
But I was appalled at the quantity of non biodegradable packing, both plastic and huge lumps of polystyrene that shed tiny fragments everywhere.

Being a leading tool manufacturer I had thought Makita would be a leader in better more environmentally aware packaging. I am dismayed to discover this is not the case. No more Makita for me I'm afraid until they change this aspect of their supply chain.
Not good enough! Regards Tim

Makita tools sold in EU does not have quality mark other than CE on their battery chargers DC18RC, hence its difficult to identify the genuinity of the product . they say it over the phone it is SGS certified but MAKITA do not help in any ways to give it in an email . this make the MAKITA chargers vulnerable to belive if they sell quality products . It also make us think to reduce the cost of production they give cheap materials and it is easy for counterfeited chargers to enter the supply chain and we customers cannot even know the price we pay for a genuine charger is actually geniune in reality . SAFTEY issues with non quality chargers :
1) Over heating can cause fire incidents if its not a geniune charger .

MAKITA servtec is so lethargic to address this issue that they do not really care to address such issues .

I have used Makita 4.50 angle grinders for years my company has spent thousands on your products we are in the granite industry the grinders do not work very long we are constantly having them serviced, this small tool repair shop has been servicing me for years, its here that I talked to one of your reps he recommended that we move to the 9566cv so I purchased 7 new grinders one right out of the box quit so I returned it to the company I purchased it from, here's where the problem began he returned it to Makita for service and they sent it back to him for what ever reason I do not care, now he is asking me to mail it direct to Makita so they will warranty it, I called Makita and the solution is mail it to a company in Orlando, this is what we have come to a society that will not take responsibility I strongly recommend Makita get there stuff together this is not good business when you have a problem you should address it immediately, at this point I am done I don't have time to mail grinders all over God's creation, looks like I am now shopping for a different grinder to use in my company.

I bought the leaf blower/string trimmer 2 months ago couldn't be happier with the trimmer however the leaf blower is a huge disappointment within 10 minutes the battery is dead and then you wait for the charger to charge the battery. I didn't realize that the combo only came with one battery. Two products one battery not an ideal situation. Then I see a commerical for same combo with three batteries what a disappointment and waste of money.I love mikita products wish you would cater more products that were lite weight and geared more for women. Older women have more time once we retire to do yard work and small projects but our husbands don't want us touching their pride and joy tools and they are extremely heavy. Think about making some products for the young at heart who have the time and can findly afford to purchase our own tools.

Terrible customer service. When I asked to speak to someone regarding a very expensive track saw by Makita and it's total failure after 10 cuts they simply hung up on me! It is barely out of warranty. I thought Makita was a good brand but turns out to be total junk. I rarely use the saw and it was in no way abused by this homeowner. I guess the only recourse is to junk the saw or pay what Makita charges to fix it. WOW! What a scam!
