I just purchased a 2023 GMC sierra pick up truck and found out I also, unknowingly purchased Onstar. My wife was never in the dealership and signed no agreements consenting to purchase Onstar but the service is in her name. I called Onstar and was told the can't change the service to my name or can't even add my name along with my wife because the service can only be in one name. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company but they only wanted to roll their Onstar program onto the sale of the vehicle. I'm not happy with General Motors and probably won't purchase another product from them.

Less than 30 days old new truck and service is so bad in St Louis county you can't even call onstar. Save your money you can do anything with your phone that OnStar will do only your phone works. Save your money!

They no longer offer auto unlock, vehicle diagnostics such as tire pressure and oil life. I am cancleing as we speak.

I've been having trouble with onstar for 5+ months and all the person says is "no new updates from the level 3 techs".

How can an outfit as big as GM do so poorly with the app?

Really disappointed.

A few years ago onstar was amazing in my opinion. Now it is not worth half the price. If you have any problem with your wifi or anything else, you push the onstar button and after about 5 minutes you get someone from India that has no clue what you're trying to tell them and it's obvious they are just reading a script. It's really ashame what has happened to them.

In the past MyGMC app worked pretty good. Worth keeping - say it that way. However I bought a new 2023 GMC truck and went to my app to install etc and it is just buffering all the time. I have talked to customer service 4x and not one of them can find the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 6x...that is what there book tells them to say ?. I have version 12 Android installed and last updated Sep 2022. On the last call she couldn't help and so she gave the number to call back and I said I had spent enough time on hold or on the phone - somebody should call me back instead so she said she would in 5 minutes. That never happened. So my rating for MyGMC app is pretty low.

I sold my truck back in July and canceled my account now onstar keeps taking money out of my account I have spoken to them many times since July 2022 about a refund because they keep taking money out of my account I have been told I will receive a cheque which I never received I was just on the phone with them yet again and when I asked to speak to a manager all they do is hang up the phone this company is a scam I do not recommend using onstar as they are a bunch of scammers 0 out of 10

My OnStar mobile app has not been working for a week. 5 phone calls and they say they have to escalate the call. I get a call back and it's the same people that have to escalate it. FURIOUS!!' I don't have time to keep talking to the first tier peoples then they have to escalate it. No one from escalation department calls me. DO NOT GET ONSTAR AND I DONT RECOMMEND IT.

Customer Representatives are nice, but the software and documentation about onstar services is confusing and circular and horrific, getting anything fixed takes hours and hours and it is so dang frustrating. Even when "fixed" the interaction with infotainment systems is sketchy.
I love the idea of the security and help, but have ZERO trust my account is in a working state and it is pricy...why do I have to call to select services and make changes, why can't I just go to the app or website and select what I need, pay for it and move on ?

I submitted my request at 9:58 p.m. central Canada Time and I was called back at 11:28 p.m. from a Florida operator who didn't even know I was from Canada even though I listed that in my onstar claim!!

Called onStar after car breaking down. They sent the tow truck to our house and not where we broke down 45 minutes from our house. Now it's three hours later and they say they can not find a tow truck for us. I called a tow truck company and they picked us up in 30 minutes. Will never rely on them ever again. Canceled my subscription to them now. Horrible customer service. Rude to my wife when she told them they went to wrong address.

Locked out of my new truck. On star lapsed, I call to reactivate but they can't.

Very disappointed.

There menu options took for ever and got no where.

Onstar does nothing to prevent theft like they advertise. I received 3 notices that my theft deterrent system was activated via email. The first at 9:07, I was in the parking garage where my vehicle was by 9:44 and it was gone. We called onstar and we're told they can not do anything without a police report. If you live in a major city getting a police report quickly can be a challenge. By the time a police report was received the vehicle's onstar system was deactivated and no longer traceable. This system is the biggest waste of money and really makes me think twice about purchasing another GM product if this is the system they promote. All that has to be done to deactivate onstar is take the satellite antenna off the vehicle. I have called an expressed my concerns I was offered a refund and then it was denied. Do not pay for this service.

Called to have my vehicle towed. Spoke with 5 different representatives. Ended up taking my vehicle to the wrong location and blaming me for it. 15 year onstar customer.

Worst experience of my entire life. They have charged me twice without permission. It's called fraud!! Once from a card that was no longer in use. Supposedly they've issued refunds via check ... but I had to make 6 phone calls, stay on line a total of 4 to 5 hours with different people from different countries just to get this handled. I only spoke to one kind person. I will never trust On star again or recommend them to anyone. I just hope I get my money back!! Very unprofessional and just horrible customer service. Very sad!!

Charged me and my account was never "fully connected" so when I went to use it I had to pay an additional $160 to unlock my vehicle. Despite paying $39x10 months. They reimbursed me $200 ?. A fraction and what a headache to deal with for customer service. Waste of money and frustrating

I had to call for the last 4 months to get my money back on a vehicle I trade in its been 120 day and still no help the new truck I buy came with three months free on star will no it didn't I have had money take out of my account every month for the old vehicle and the new vehicle but when I call they say ok but you only get one month but no you get three months free I'm so sick of this why can people get stuff right so as of today they have one week to get my money back or onstar will not get anymore monet from me

If onstar is such a great deal then why wouldn't GM do a vechile recall.
I go places without my phone
Its not part of my body so I can do without it. So if I'm attached to the phone why wasn't it attached when I was born.
On star great name for such a losing idea.

I have 2021 and 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV. I have an issue with my rear entertainment system. There are three apps. Which is YouTube, YouTube Kids and Hulu. When I am clicking that it's saying call OnStar Service for data plan. I have 6 months data plan. I called and talked with 6 persons and explained it. They still didn't resolve my problem. Terrible Advisors. They're definitely unprofessional. I don't recommend it!

The lovely onstar system in my truck went dead and left me stranded. Kind of silly how they provide you with a system to help in an emergency but have no answer when the system causes the emergency.....

You have to actually call OnStar and be put on hold, then go through a questionnaire to cancel a subscription, THERE IS NO OTHER METHOD. IN 2022. The agent on the phone was also very rude and not understanding at all. I wouldn't recommend OnStar to anyone. They purposefully have a complicated process to cancel subscriptions in order to artificially inflate profit. OnStar and their employees should be ashamed of themselves.

I attempted to renew my OnStar service for another year. I was on the phone for nearly 20 minutes. I repeated the spelling of my name, my mailing address, the credit card number, etc., multiple times.I was finally told by the woman in Manilla I could not renew because I have an older model car. I can renew if I want to use the app. I DO NOT USE APPS!!!!! At age 74, I find them cumbersome. I cannot believe a company as big as OnStar does not want my money. Good riddance!

There gps/finding location app sucks!!
It's that short of a complaint!!
It sucks I hate their OnStar app!!!!!
Never works .. reinstall... uninstall works maybe once or twice then erase the app put it back on .. so so frustrating when trying to find where ur car is!!!
