My credit card has been used fraudulently on pay pal. I asked for receipts for the charges and was told I can't have them because it's not my account. It's not my account but it's my credit card being used. I spoke with four pay pal reps and got nowhere so I'm going to hire a lawyer and sue pay pal for everything I can get.

Had a series of unauthorized charges hit my paypal and bank, called paypal three times, each with waits of over 20 min, 1st time resulted in getting an agent who I could hear breathing but didn't talk, waited until I hung up, 2nd time was same result, 3rd I gave up after waiting for half an hour. Had to file unauthorized changes with my bank instead of Paypal helping.

Total trash company - assessed me a single mother who's done nothing but hand them over tons of money in fees to cash checks and then with no explanation and not a soul can tell me what the problem is but that I'm a risk. So ok.. all my money goes through y'all and I'm sitting up at Walmart unable to use my money because you guys decided to for no reason cut me off. That's fine NOBODY USE PAYPAL UNLESS YOU WANT HUNGRY KIDS CRYING IN THE BACK SEAT

Paypal should vet its sellers. Their customer service is as scammy as its seller with convenient phone hang ups, busy signals and calls that cut off. I'm closing my account.

Paypal should vet the companies that it allows to sell goods. I keep getting hung up on when I try to speak to someone about a dispute. Paypal is appearing to be as scammy as some of their sellers. I am closing my account and warning all of my contacts as well.

Super lazy and incompetent - the worst customer service on the planet. All they do is waste your time and then transfer you to someone else. I was on the phone almost 2 hours with them today, spoke to FOUR different people, had to explain the whole situation all over again to each one (no warm transfers), and ultimately got no answers. HORRIBLE! I am cutting back drastically on doing business with them in any form, whatsoever.

I have filed a BBB Complaint against PayPal because of the treatment I have received since using their Buyer Protection Policy. In short I made a purchase of a musical instrument, that was not anywhere near what was described. I made 5 payments (2 for the item and 3 for shipping and handling), which resulted in 5 claims when the item arrived with over 30 holes drilled into it and covered over with putty, tar dripped on the item, and cracks in the item. I supplied over 30 pictures of the damage.

This led to 4 of the cases being closed by PayPal in my favor and a refund of all the money except for 500.00 dollars, which the last claim was for, and was pending at the time the PayPal Customer Service associate, who closed the 4 cases in my favor. The last case has created an unbelievable response by PayPal's claim department.

First they made my wife and I take the instrument to Guitar Center and get it deemed damaged and worthless, which we did. Next they said we would need to file a FBI claim.

Then they said we would need to ship the item back to the seller, who ripped us off and did not request the item... and that would be at our expense, which would be over 1,000.00. (So spend 1,000.00 to get the remaining 500.00)

I called on 03-31-2023 and spoke to a Supervisor at PayPal who informed me (promised me) that I would get my money back and the (PayPal case) would be closed in my favor, as she deemed it should be. I have the recorded phone call which verifies this. To my surprise, even though I was promised by the supervisor, on 03-31-2023 that I would receive a refund and the final open case would be closed in my favor...PayPal's claim's department on 04-10-2023 instead retaliated by ignoring the supervisor's promise and instead placed my account in a collections standing. In the attached call you can hear PayPal saying that my account is in a status of "attempting to collect a debt", and then states that "the account is in good standing with nothing owed."

I have been a customer for 23 years at PayPal. I never would believe a company could treat someone like this and get by with it. Be warned PayPal do not honor their own policies.

Please do note use paypal. Worst customer service. Filed a dispute for goods I never received from a paypal seller. Three months in nothing has been resolved. Every call to paypal feels like the first. No one can help. No one knows anything. Awful.

I bought one Makita tools set in Ebay kleinanzeige and paid the seller with PayPal with customer purchase protection. The seller was a scammer and immediately erase all information from Ebay and disappeared.After few days he gave false UPS tracking number to Paypal and they sent me email that the sale is closed. I have checked with UPS and the only information I got from them was that My name and address does not match with the name and the address of the receiver. Classic scam. The seller does not answered my emails and I opened case with Paypal claiming purchase protection and money reimburse. Today I received email from PayPal that my claim is rejected because the seller provide tracking number and the goods are delivered.Where and when...does not matter . I have tried to reopen the case, because I received NOTHING, but MF Paypal act as a mafia. They are the Judge and the Prosecutor. Once they refuse to pay back your money you are done. I have asked to have the real name or some useful information about the seller because I want to chase this scammer and to make official claim in the Police, but they have firewall. Zero customer protection. PayPal is a platform where every scammer feel untouchable . Instead of Customer protection , PayPal should have Criminals and scammers protection policy .
I am very very disappointed. Very bad !

The absolute worst payment processor. Can't even compare to a traditional bank or VISA / Mastercard / American Express. They constantly screw up your preferred payment method. And once there's a problem, it's a complete dumpster fire to get support to resolve. Just the payment processor of absolute last resort. AVOID!!

PayPal deserves ZERO star if the rating has this option. It provides ZERO customer service and operates unethically.

My PayPal account was created in USA in 2013. I used several times and left it idle for years until 2 weeks ago to sign in. I have noticed that the country name on the primary address under my PayPal account has been changed to Emirates, and my cell# never gets their texts on codes as it has an incorrect country code 971 in front of it... It appears to be PayPal IT error when doing system upgrades.

I have reached out to PayPal customer support multiple times and hours of calls to seek for help to fix the error caused by their IT in their system. HORRENDOUS experience! Their CSRs have no knowledge to handle such situation except for reading me a script---"no access to fix and I have to close the account and open the new one". Two of CSRs with strong offshore accents in their international department even accused me of picking the wrong country when signing up at the first place. All CSRs I talked to were kicking me around from domestic department to security department to international department, and so on. They ignore the root cause on their end, but simply asked me to close the account and open a new one, then to transfer my money from the old to the new. I was told it is free for such a transfer.

After many calls and tons of hours, helpless and hopeless, it left me no choice but to create another account to do the transfer. HORRIBLE process! I got charged for receiving the money in the new account, plus the money is on hold and unavailable until Mar. 7th. When the fund is available and to be transferred to my bank, there will be another 3% charge imposed by PayPal. It feels like I am SCAMMED by PayPal.

PayPal itself is a SCAMMER due to its unethical practices. Its IT error during upgrades is paid by its customers: 1, can be too costly to fix this non-configurate data on their end. So, it is the easiest way and no cost to PayPal if telling customers to close accounts and open new ones; 2, In so doing, PayPal can make extra money by charging those fees; 3, It will appear an increase in sales, i.e., numbers of new accounts open, on PayPal's financial reports presented to their investors.

In addition, it is hard to believe that a company like PayPal 100% replying on internet to operate has no HUMAN chat online or e-mail to reach them. PayPal only has robot assistant who is useless and struggling to provide non-sense answers to the questions asked.

I am hoping my incomplete transfer will go smoothly after Mar. 7th. Then, I will close both of my PayPal accounts and no longer use them. I also hope my review will be helpful to other users or potential customers.

PayPal's customer service is horrendous. They are truly unethical. Their collections service is outsourced trained mean humans with thick accents. They put no effort out to resolve any issues. Two claims filed through paypal took months and then they just dropped off. I then file with my credit card company and, boom, credit placed and issue resolved. Paypal will not let me delete me credit cards or close my until I pay a debit they wrongfully applied to my account and they want me to link my bank account! Very shady business. Stay away.

I have been trying to pay businesses through PP and it keeps telling me my phone # is incorrect for the quick security to complete the transaction. I have made so many phone calls and have wasted at least 30 hours trying to get this corrected with no resolution. I have been passed around a rediculous amount of times again with no resolution. I am ready a script over and over again and being told my account is in good standing. I need this fixed immediately!!

On January 6th 2024 I had the pleasure of speaking with one of your customer representative by the name of Gislel who was so pleasant and very patient with resolving my issues.
I tried texting with chat and making several calls and nothing got resolved. Until I got a live person by the name of Gislel she was the best. I want to say thank you to her. I wish there were more representatives in customer service like her.

I had a situation where I received an email, supposedly from PayPal, regarding a charge I did not make. I called the number indicated and was given the runaround, asking for information I could not or would not give them. Each of three calls ended with the caller saying they would handle it on their end and someone would get back to me in a week. At that point I looked up your CS number on line, called, and we determined that the email was fraudulent and they were phishing. This was all resolvsd in less than five minutes. Kudos to PayPal and your staff for the excellent service!

I talked with Sheina for PayPal customer service, and she was so amazing! I had a lot of issues with one company and being hacked that lost a large amount of money but in about 13 transactions over 2 weeks. She patiently went through each one and checked in with me regularly, and remained so sweet and polite even through technical difficulties on her side. She deserves a raise and bonus and free lunch or something! I wish I remembered to get her employee number! She was the best customer service representative I've ever spoken to!

Great customer service from Dean in Paypal's Irish helpdesk office - he sorted my bank account registration out and deleted an old duplicate account for me with no fuss at all in about 3 minutes. Really couldn't be happier with the service I received here; providing a code from your already-logged-in account saves the hassle of going through multiple security checks on the phone and makes things much smoother and faster. Well done Paypal!

This morning I reached a customer service rep at Paypal to report my account was hacked. She said she would make sure the transactions didn't go through, but she only did the easy ones. She said she would send me an e-mail to change my password and security questions, but it never came. Then she said I had to call back this evening or tomorrow to get it done. I asked if she could just talk me through it and she said "no", because if she did it would help change my password, but not my security questions. So, I called back this evening and was able to talk to a rep named "Clare" employee number: 58411.
She said that I was given wrong information and that the first rep could have helped me change both!! So, Clare helped me change both! She talked me through it and also helped me change my Visa number. Then she said she would personally see to it that the last two fraudulent purchases were not going to be authorized (something the morning rep did not bother to do)!! I was ready to get my funds returned and then close my Paypal account, but thanks to Clare I feel that I will continue to do business with Paypal. I cannot have another rep do to me what the first one did ever again or I will certainly have to close the account. Thanks Clare!!! :)

I called and talked to MATT. I was on a minute phone and he called me back which was wonderful. Excellent Customer Service. He knew I needed PayPal Credit to help w/my problem so he had TRISTEN from PayPal Credit already on the line. I've had to call customer service twice for minor issues, and the reps were awesome. It took maybe 1 minute to get thru the automated system (compared to 5-10 for companies like bank of america or Time Warner/Hitler).

I contacted customer service due to a malicious email that supposably came from PayPal. They answered immediately and informed me of what to do and checked my account to mae sure it was fine. They are top rated in my opinion.

I just have to say that Paypal has always helped me with my problems, and very courteously, and promptly. They are just great. I found their number online, and gave them a call. It is much easier to settle problems when talking to a body!

PayPal number worked great! Got through to a very pleasant customer service rep in a very short time, who handled my problem quickly and efficiently. I have been dealing with this problem since the end of May. I was pleasantly surprised! Thanks for providing a good number. I checked multiple other sites that came up in my search,and yours was the only one that had a phone number that worked.

Paypal is awesome. most of the people complaining about it dont even speak good english. and they fell for the craigs list scams paypal has nothing to do with that. they just dont know how paypal works and never bothers to call and ask and are just plain dumb to fall for a scam that asks for you to send them money thru western union. it say clearly on craigslist when you list an item do not send money thru western union at all cause its a scam. so dont blame paypal for getting scammed its u the dummy for not following instructions.

My group teaches Italian and we started using Paypal to accept payments. Since there is no product to ship we could not prove delivery, and our payments were being held 21 days.

I asked Paypal to speed up money release, they did so withing 24 hours, and sent me an e-mail confirming.

I could not be more pleased!

I work in the fraud department at PayPal. We do the best we can to try and prevent people from getting ripped off but sometimes peple are just careless and hen we get blamed. Soemtimes we have to limit accoutns if activity looks suspicious but if you are being honest then you should be able to provide us with the documentation we require. The limitations we put on accounts are not done just for fun. PayPal is risking it's own money in these transactions. If say you are selling a Rolex for $5k and have no history of sales and have entered no tracking number, why should we believe you are honest? Because you know how to use a computer? We don't know you. If the item does not get delivered PP has to pay not the thief. The most we can hope is to get the money back through a collection agency and with a suspicious ID that is pretty much impossible. The limitations are the only way PP can protect itself or the buyers. And some buyers are just plain stupid. I had an accoun toiday buying concert tickets on Craig's list from someone she did not know who had just opened a new account and was withdrawing the money right away. Maybe the seller is honest but should I let the seller withdraw the money? Would you? Of course I limited the account. We need some proof these items are getting delivered.

As a customer service rep for PayPal, I understand the frustration. I also understand online buying/selling online is a risk. Unfortunately the statistics show that 74% of all people prefer to use a alias name online to hide their identity. I spend the majority of my shifts talking with frustrated buyers, and sellers, who are opening accounts with fictitous names and addresses. We do not have a face to face business, and all is fine until a customer has a issue. When compiling customer information, we find out that they used bogus info. We usually flip the coin on a dispute towards the person who has a good history, and who has not given made up info. If you open a PP account using false info, and file a dispute, unfortunately we cannot just say o well you lied to us, and now we trust everything you tell us regarding your transaction. Bottom line is we service 80 million users, and we process online payments. We protect all financial info provided, and request only that you have a secure password, but if you do not and someone logs into your account, you are guaranteed to have all funds reversed, and you never have to worry about losing your personal info. Buyers never pay a fee, and have the easiest most protected way to process purchases. As a seller you have 80 million shoppers, and if you deliver your goods, or services as promised you will have the most economical, user friendly payment processor. Just think if there was no PayPal.(10 years ago) Could you just start selling online, and or buying with confidence. No. Waiting 4-7 day for a check in the mail, then the seller had to wait 5-10 days for a check to clear, and then they would ship (another 2-4 days). This means every online purchase would take atleast 18 days to process orders. 94% of PayPal sellers, can ship within 24 hours, they do not have to go to the bank, and will have the funds in their personal bank in usually 4 days. If they have the free PP debit card. they could withdraw the funds at any ATM within minutes from receiving payment. I have only been with this company for only a year, but could not be happier with the commitment to ensuring a safe shopping/selling experience for all. We take protecting customers against fraud very seriously, and do everything possible to stay ahead of the fraudsters. Can we stop every bad seller, or buyer? No! Will we do our best? Yes!! For all of the frustrated customers, I hoped to help you in the future.
