I have also been ripped by Priceline booked a hotel using name your price found the same hotel at the same rate on four other websites the next day. It is a dud and I used to like Capt. Kirk please refrain from using thier services. Of course there was nothing the customer service rep could do. Sbooth711 9/1/10 7:21AM

I bidded for a 3 star hotel in Miami Beach. there were 5 hotels in the area i requested. A resort hotel accepted my bid that was not on the map viewer listing. I called Priceline, and here's the catch. the list they use to get bids doesnt matchup with their online viewing of hotels. So you CANNOT rely on the mapviewer or hotel searcher on priceline if your bidding a hotel. quite simply, Priceline will search the complete exhaustive list of hotels everywhere (not necessarily on their hotel listing).
called priceline and their reps wouldnt budge one inch, no cancellation, no help rebidding without resort, no help rebidding area with only hotels that show up on their listing.
SO YOU CANT TRUST EM, FAIR WARNINGfiskebc 8/31/10 2:56PM

Low customer service level. Reps over the phone took the calls to repeat priceline's police. Don't ever "name" your own price. hatepriceline 8/29/10 3:09PM

My traveling companion and myself booked our flight to Maui through Priceline.com and were met with a nightmare of epic proportions and very nearly lost our tickets- totaling approximately $700, at no fault of our own.
Priceline booked us our one-way flights through two separate airlines: American Airlines and Delta. When we arrived at the airport two hours early to board our first flight from Chicago, we made the attempt to check one larger suitcase. Immediately we were sent to speak with an agent about an error that was made in our itinerary regarding 'Connect Times'.
American Airlines has a connect time of at least one hour at a particular transfer and Priceline had it listed as 30 minutes. As the layover was only 35 minutes, American Airlines wouldn't allow us to board, so as to save us from being stranded in San Diego. Our AA agent spoke on the phone to Priceline, who denied their error, throughout the time that we missed our flight. Our tickets were useless. Priceline refused to put us on another flight.
After speaking to countless rude, unhelpful, demeaning Priceline representatives on the phone at home, coupled with calls between Delta and American Airlines, the situation became very clear.
Because of a technical glitch in the system, we were going to lose our tickets and would not be going to Maui- due to a typo and a company whom has no concern for their customers and refuses to take responsibility for their mistakes.
At one point, Priceline agreed to call American Airlines to confirm or dis-confirm the connect time error. When they reported back, they blatantly lied about the confirmation and continued to belittle myself and our situation.
In the end, American Airlines had done everything in their power, and the rectification of this matter lied solely in the hands of Delta, whom had the power as the primary airline per our itinerary, and were also not to blame for this 24 hour endeavor from hell. Delta issued us a new flight for two days post incident. So we're going to Maui, with no thanks to Priceline!
Before ever using Priceline, I advise doing some research. I simply googled 'Priceline Consumer Reviews' and found that not only is this conduct of business and breach of contact quite common, it's the core of the company, which is ruthlessly and carelessly abusing their customers and still continuing to get business due to a stellar advertising icon. William Shatner is not to blame- he probably has no idea that the company he represents doesn't care about anyone getting the 'beaming-up' that they paid for.SMP3617 8/27/10 5:52PM

Priceline is a despicable company.
I booked a flight with them and didn’t realize that by the time they sent me the itinerary they had changed the departure date from what I requested. By the time I detected this discrepancy it was too late; I “missed” the flight.
I called their customer service number 1-800-774-2354 and when the woman finally came online and asked me for my information she kept on saying “Hello, hello, I can’t hear you. Sorry but I am going to have to end this call since I am unable to hear you”. Then she put down the phone. I then called the other customer service number that I got from this site and was able to speak to someone. He said there is nothing that can be done since the date I selected for departure was the date they had given me which I know is not the case.
I will never use Priceline again and I will strongly advise anyone considering using it not to. They are deceitful.

I booked a motel room in Great Falls Montana and was told I could not pick the motel but it would be a good quality facility. Upon arrival we checked it to the room. It was dirty with what appeared to be pizza on the bedspread. When I called the desk they put us into another room, only to discover used bath towels behind the bathroom door and hair in the bath tub. The State Fair was in town and we could not find another room. I have talked to price line who have told me 3 times they will get back to me in 48 hours - - that was 2 weeks ago. DO NOT USE PRICE LINE - - AND NEVER STAY AT THE SUPER 8 IN GREAT FALLS MONTANA!!! Big Sky Jake 8/23/10 6:38PM

Same thing as so many others, after HOURS of making a reservation with them this past July, I had to cancel as the trip I was going to take was cancelled after my friend had a death in the family and wouldn't be there to accomodate us upon arrival as planned.
ANYWAY! I spoke with the hotel I had the reservation at and explained they said No Problem, they'd re-emburse.......but Priceline has to do it......called Priceline Cust service was bounced around a few different times to agents having to re-explain over and over- then having to re-phone the hotel to get the name of the girl who had ok'd the refund from their end....then after asking the cust.service agent point blank if I'd get my money back, he said yes and I'd get an email etc.... well 4 weeks later I had no email so called the cust service again- they said no action had been taken and it was a no show- had to re-explain everything again now they are saying that the hotel said it was a no show not a cancelation.....BIG FRIKING MESS, THEY ARE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER..........Will Shatner should be ashamed.bubblygirl 8/22/10 5:40PM

Terrible customer service. Everything is scripted and continuously says "my apologizies but..." "if I had the capability of doing something I certainly would but there is nothing I could do". Falsely advertising certain locations of hotels and when you get the hotel it was not in the location at all. Will never use priceline again, don't take a chance with them. not pleased 8/20/10 7:29PM

Priceline has been nothing but a nightmare. I would love to join one of those class action law suits against them. I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND THEM! They have ruined our trip! My husband and I are planning a Sedona, anniversary trip and instead of booking a hotel room for us in Sedona AZ as requested they booked a room 30 miles away in Flagstaff Az. Only a short 45min drive to and from our destination. When we called they said that we agreed to the contract and that they could not do anything to help us. All we wanted was for them to switch the city as requested instead she said to me that we would be in the region of Sedona-flagstaff.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE!

I used Priceline.com to book a trip for me and my significant other and purchased the insurance thinking I’d be more flexible in the event that we were unable to go because of our demanding jobs, mind you the customer service representative that helped us stated if I needed to cancel I wouldn’t have a problem doing so. Well I had to cancel my trip and the Priceline rep (including manager) stated there was nothing they could do for me and on top of that being that I’m staying at a hotel that wasn’t within “Priceline refundable terms” I wouldn’t be able to get my money back. Mind you I’m trying to cancel or rebook my travel well before my travel date (a month ahead of time to be exact). Their customer service reps weren’t even able to answer my simple questions I asked regarding a refund and the manager was rude and didn’t care. With all the other options out there people can use to book trips you’d think they be a little nicer but I guess that’s too much to ask. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Jazzie 8/19/10 11:55AM

This company is an absolute nightmare!!!! Beware and DO NOT use the name your own price for a rental car. First off, the company does NOT offer the lowest price for rental cars -- go to the car rental website and DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!!!!!
They charged us 700 for absolutely no SERVICES!!!! 5 minutes after I booked a car on priceline I found a larger car for 200 dollars cheaper ! Immediately called priceline to cancel and they refused - called enterprise to tell them I was not renting a car - covered my bases . DID NOT SIGN FOR A RENTAL CAR AND RECEIVED ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICES -- BUT THEY STILL CHARGED US $700!!!! FRAUDULENT COMPANY THAT MUST BE STOPPED!!!TICKED OFF 8/19/10 11:02AM

I didnt believe all these negative comments when I read this but I wanted to change my departure flight back 3 days in order to leave with my family on vacation while keeping my flight back to my home state the same. I called and got some woman who sounded like she had down syndrome and was trying to talk with a foot in her mouth. I barely understood her and her wording of a $150 dollar change fee. I said no thanks and hung up, she was very unprofessional and was agitated about something. I hate customer service institutions like this but if I had to choose Dell customer service, which sucks too, was even better. I learned my lesson, no more PL. NAeagle89 8/18/10 6:50AM

We booked a hotel room through Priceline, our first time, we thought we would get a good deal on name your own price. We ended up bidding $70 for a night and it was not accepted so we went to $75 a night, it was accepted and automatically was charged on our credit card. We did not receive any type of confirmation from Priceline, so we assumed it wasn't accepted.
In the meantime, we checked other hotels for the same nights and found a place we wanted to stay so we booked this, still not aware that our first hotel was booked.
Come to find out later on, when we checked our e-mail, we were booked for both hotels for the same nights in the same town. We called Priceline customer service and they told us there was nothing we could do, we could cancel and still have to pay the price. WE were
very upset with their customer service and also not helping us in this manner. How were we going to stay in two hotels on the same nights??
Beware, they seem to have their tricks, I would not suggest using this website.
By the way, the hotel we stayed at cost the same price per night as Priceline. So there wasn't any savings, it is not worth it.Anonymous 8/14/10 1:42PM

Priceline made a mistake in our itineraries by one day. Unfortunately we did not check the print out until the flight had left on the day before we thought we were leaving. I called PL and they told me to go see Delta. Delta told me to go to priceline. Then I found out they cancelled not only the outbound flight but the return flight as well without asking me. Now I am out the toals fee for the flights, and a car retal. Had to rebook full fare for the next day. You can tell when speaking to their Custiomer dissevice, that the person on the phone is being told what to say since she put me on hold several times. i am sending a written claim to them and to mastercard. hkc 8/10/10 7:49AM

I booked a vacation package through Priceline. Once I got to my city of destination and attempted to check into my hotel, I was simply horrified by the condition of the hotel. It was dirty, the rooms smelled stale and unclean, the air was not working, so the floor (elevator and hallways were hot)and the actual room was hot. The carpet was dirty and worn, paint was chipping off the walls, and there was actually trash and workman's material in the corner and on the counter in the room I was given!!!!
When I contacted Priceline, the customer service representative had the audacity to read me some disclaimer about how Priceline guarantees the quality of the service providers and a change or refund would not be granted. It was if I was a complete moron, and had completely made up the detailed description I had given. I have never felt so utterly taken advantage of by what I believed to be a reputable company. Priceline is definitely not looking out for it customers and their policies and procedures are definitely driven solely by capitalism with VERY LITTLE if any regard to morality.Anonymous 8/5/10 10:51PM

Is anyone interested in a class action suit against Priceline? Their customer service is appalling!!! The sole reason I used Priceline was for a previous screw up that they made in which they credited me $50 "bonus bucks" which they sent me via email. I received this in writing. Upon purchasing my reservation via "Name your own Price," despite following every step Priceline states, they failed to discount my purchase the $50. This is flat out an unauthorized charge in that they overcharged $50. After five business days attempting to get this credited, they still have the audacity to state that it is at the "upper management level" for their review although stated that I have a "valid claim." If you or I ran a business this way, we would be out of business wouldn't we? How is it that Priceline has not received fines for consumer protection violations? Lynn 8/4/10 1:33PM

You are the worst skum out there, I'm going to tell everyone I know to not use your company. Booked hotel, realized I made error on date went to change and was told I'd be charged the full price and I was not able to cancel. Called my bank within five min. money was removed from my account.Called your company and was told that I should read my contract. Your add plainly states Fees Chopped, No Priceline Change or CANCEL FEE,
What a LIE! I've copied all forms and will turn them with claims to BBB and then I'll take out ad on Facebook to see that everyone knows and maybe send some stuff to local TV stations It might not do anything but at least I know I'm letting people know how terrible your company is!BITE ME 8/4/10 12:38PM

I do not completely trust Priceline. I bidded for a car last night online. It appeared that my offer was accepted. I entered my credit card information (debit) like they requested and my address. I complelted the formo and submitted the information. Nothing happened. I did not get confirmation numbers. According to them, I did not have any reservation for a car. Since I have read most of the comments from other customers, I've decided to now do business with them. Anonymous 8/4/10 7:46AM

Booked a hotel with Priceline before my "bonus bucks" expired. Priceline failed to reduce the cost of my hotel purchase using the "bonus bucks" despite the fact that I clicked on and followed Priceline directions. Phone call to customer service was fruitless. They elevated the call to the "next level" however that failed to produce a credit and a return phone call as promised. I then emailed the same complaint however to date, Priceline has failed to respond. Customer service/oxymoron at Priceline! Kim 8/3/10 11:35AM

We went on Priceline to book a hotel in Las Vegas for 2 nights, well after we booked a room at $70.00 a night we found out that at regular price this room is only $50.00 a night. Once you lock in with priceline you are stuck. For a 4 star Hotel we got one of the older one's. The room was on the ground floor. I would have thought we would have paid less than the going rate.
I was very upset that they can do this kind of thing.......................I was even mad at William Shatner for saying what a great deal you can get, HAA HAA to that.Ed 8/2/10 7:25PM

What a scam. I just wanted to change my car rental. I was going to visit my daughter in Florida. I haven't seen her in 2 years, which at that time I had cancer. She is now moving back to Michigan, because of hard times, so I wanted to get the car rental for Michigan instead. They said no changes, no cancelations and I am just out $222.90. Are you kidding me???? I did call my credit card company to dispute the charges. This is going to take 6-8 weeks and I don't know if they are going to be able to help or not. I am so disgusted. I wouldn't even mind paying a cancelation fee, but to keep all of my money is just plain wrong! Goldie0827 8/2/10 9:49AM

I booked a flight/hotel/and car through priceline. The flight, we ended up paying an extra $100 for baggage fees! The car we were charged an extra $12.00 for some other fees...i paid $56.00 to fill up the tank so what was this fee for? The hotel was horrible. I called the hotel prior to booking and was told it was 15 minutes from the airport...it was well over an hour away. We spoke with priceline customer service which was of course outsourced to other countries and they did not understand the situation. We wanted to move our reservations from one hotel to a closer one. They said they could not do it so we asked if we could call them back once we found a closer hotel to see if they had vacancy. Priceline cancelled our hotel reservations so we only had the hotel for 1 night!!! were were supposed to be there for a week. So we had to go to find another hotel to stay at and i had to pay another $300 out of pocket!!! I am still fighting with them about my hotel refund. So not only did they cancel our reservations without our request or permission and leave us with no place to stay but they wouldn't refund our money! robot_chicken 8/1/10 7:37PM

I had booked a car reservation mid July for a 5 days in Nov. Person I was going to see is now moving and of course I'm not able to cancel. This is to inform you company that i was misinformed when i booked a hotel thru internet for July 30 to Aug.2 with a priceline trip # 14921769262 Rodeway Inn San Antonio. When we arrived at the Inn and was told that our rooms were located to smoking areas. I was shocked because when i reserved the three(3) rooms via internet, it was not indicated if smoking or non smoking. The hotel manager told us that Priceline should inform me about the rooms and they can only provide an upgraded room and pay additional fee. We checked the room in order to see if we can tolerate the smell.Upon we entered the hallway, we can't barely breath because of strong cigarette smell. The room was stingy, carpet was dirty and a very, very strong cigarette odor. We went back to Hotel manager and requested if we can transfer to a non smoking room without upgrading the room rate. The manager told us" I can't give you that option, just call Priceline since it wastheir fault". I called Priceline (ist)customer service, I was told that " sorry we can't help you but it's the hotel prerogative.I did some bargaining with the Hotel manager that I'm willing to be charged for one (1) night but canceled the remaining two Nights(2). The manager told (rude way)that they can't cancel it and told me to call Priceline since I paid thru your company. I called again Priceline(2)and they told me that it was the hotel does the charging. The Hotel receptionist and Priceline agent talked but still no action was taken. Overall, we stayed at the hotel lobby for almost 3 hours negotiating that we are willing to give one night free and not use the facilities but they have to cancel the remaining days. The hotel staff was so rude and never give any consideration . She was shouting and very rude. We left the hotel, tired, traveled 6 hours and end up looking for another hotel. As a customer, we don't deserved this kind of treatment and i called my credit card bank and was told that Rodeway Inn had already filed a initial charge. We are all frustrated and angry the way we were treated by the Rodeway Inn staff and uncaring response of Priceline staff. Based on your TV commercial that you can negotiate any issues. We are all nurses and we provide the best service to our patients and most of the time we go beyond of our responsibilities in order to provide the very best experience for our patients. The way we were treated by the Hotel staff and manager was a total violation of good customer service. I hope your company do some actions regarding my complaint and refund my payment. A few minutes ago I called to cancel one nights reservation. I was told both nights had to be cancelled and then a new reservation made for the one night. I was put through to a man (I don't recall him giving me his name). He could not understand me and vice versa. I spelled my name for him. He couldn't find the city, so I spelled it for him. Then he had Mountain Airy, NC and I told him it was "Mount", not mountain. I was laughing about our not being able to understand each other. When he repeated the information I had given to him, I told him that was correct. Then instead of asking for the hotel information, he said, "You sound mad. Are you mad? I can get you someone else if you are mad?" I told him I was not mad. I asked my family if I sounded mad and they said "no". I told him again I was not mad. Apparently he wanted to go to lunch or something and wanted me to be mad so he wouldn't have to finish the reservation. When all he would say was that "You are mad, you sound mad", I had no recourse but to say, "forget it" and hang up. I have never had anyone act like this before. Believe me if I was mad, he would have know it!!!
I called the motel directly and made my own reservation and it as cheaper!Anonymous 7/30/10 8:34AM

I've booked hotels that I've bid on and rented cars that I've bid on. Never had a problem until the last time I tried to bid on a hotel. I was lost in cyberspace...called customer service...terrible! She couldn't help at all!! She even (pretended) to stay on the phone with me to walk me through resetting my password. Nothing worked...made my reservation through Travelocity, their Top Secret hotels. Big mistake! I based my decision on hotel reviews (which were GREAT). i get a different story every time i talk with someone. your're policy of changing date and location is rediculous. the date and place is where i need to be ...... period. your rates continue to go up and satisfaction continue to go down. i have used your service for several years ,but it seems to be getting more difficult to use your product. waiting 24 hr. even if i do wait quite often the screen tells me it is a duplicate request and now i have to wait another 24 hours. crazy Denny Kamphoff 7/28/10 1:26PM

We never used Priceline before and thought we would give it a try - BIG MISTAKE!! We put in our location and to the right there is a pull down to select ammenities you need in a hotel. I selected breakfast, non-smoking and free parking. The hotel seletion came up and one of the choices was the "Name Your Own Price". We thougt we would give it a try without realizing that the selections you picked on the first page do not apply. If we had known this we would never tried the "Name your own price". We need to take medication immediatley upon waking with food, so we always stay at a hotel that offers continental breakfast. This was our first time using Priceline.
I called customer service to see if they would help me. I offered to pay more at a hotel that offered the breakfast if they could just switch me to another hotel. After spending some time answering question after question, they still would not help me. The customer service is terrible. We travel a lot and have never had an issue with some of the other travel sites. You would think that if it is your first time and you made a mistake because it was not mentioned that you would not get ANYTHING that you selected, the customer service dept. would at least try and help. I can bring my own food, but the point is that the site did not make it clear that your preferences would not be honored. I don't understand why they have that "Name your own price" as a selection that pops up when you pick certain requirements, knowing you won't get them!!
We are now at the age where traveling is our first priority and we will be doing lots of traveling, so Priceline has lost me as a customer!!travlin50 7/26/10 5:40AM

The one word I would connect the women CSR of priceline to is MACHINE GUN. She didn't put any effort to listen to the customer's needs and start murmuring unstoppably right after I told my request. She just repeated one sentence "we didn't have that option..." over and over again. She declined the transfer to other CSR or the transfer to a Manger. She acted as if she was the final arbitrator. What a heck! I will say such ignorant and arrogant service attitude will doom this company for sure! charlie 7/21/10 1:41PM

I requested a mid-size car and got a compact car! When I called the customer service, I only got the voice mail. There was no option to talk with a real person. Amazing service! And then, I finally found the real number that I can talk with the real person who lives in Mexico...who is so rude.Another amazing service! They didn't try to listen to the customer or understand the situation. They only told their regulation that they will contact within 7 days...blah blah blah...More amazing service! She even told to say "yes or no" for her question. Is she someone who conduct strict examination? She got a wrong job. Thanks for your great service! gso 7/20/10 7:44PM

@ boydmoney (Priceline employee) or whatever you named yourself, You know what, I think you are unprofessional by calling your customers "RETARDED". See, you just prove to the world that all the people that work with Priceline are nuisance. I think you need several continuous education/training hours in order to fit in the job. Your attitude is just part of what several people have complained about. What happened to all the complainants can happen to anybody, even you. You are just wrong. Anonymous 7/15/10 11:38AM

My service was absolutely horrible. I booked a vacation package with them a month before my vacation. I called the companies a week before i was scheduled to leave to confirm my hotel and flight arrangements, only to find out that Priceline cancelled my reservation. Once i informed Priceline, they didnt have a sense of urgency and they were rude. They called me 6 hours before i was scheduled to leave to tell me that they could not do anything but refund my money or find a hotel with the same price. (keep in mind that they the hotel they would book could be of lesser value and they would not refund the difference) I end up getting a refund and booking directly through the company and had to pay an extra $100.00.
I would only recommend searching for deals through priceline and calling the companies to book your vacation. At least you know they care about your business.Anonymous 7/15/10 10:09AM

Priceline makes it difficult to contact customer service. I have had to contact them several times this week for car cancellations for reasons out of my control. I have little to zero patience for their robotic answers. One guy said, "Thank you Ms. ---" after EVERYTHING that I said. Even if it was a oen or two word response. Really??
It is completely possible to get a refund through Priceline, despite their "No Refund Whatsoever" policy. And when you finally scream it into the guy that doesn't speak English clearly that your reason is completely legit and that it was out of your control, he will make you feel like he is doing you a HUGE favor and that they are making a grand exception to the policy.
I missed one car pickup on a Tuesady because my license was in luggage that was delayed in arriving at my airport and did not call Priceline to tell them that. I showed up Wednesday at the car rental and they refused to take my debit card, unless I had proof of a return flight ticket, which I didn't have. So I called Priceline. They said that since I didn't pick up the car within 24 hours of the reservation that I could not get a refund. I explained the situation, in a peaceful state, until he kept repeating "I wish there was something I can do, but I can't. Is there anything else I can help you with?" Finally I had to scream at him my reasons again, and he kept putting me on hold. Finally, he returned to say that they would give me the refund, NOT because I didn't pick up the car on the same day (which should have essentially been the only reason that they wouldn't give me a refund), but because the rental car agency wouldn't take my debit card. Load of crock.
It's "processing" now, so let's see if I actually get the money back.
Be firm with the agents. They will help you if you are desperate enough, otherwise they will robotically get you off the phone ASAP.Anonymous 7/15/10 5:57AM

Chelsea in the Priceline customer relations dept refused to make a simple addition of one driver to my reservation due to the primary driver (only one allowed with Priceline) had to delay the trip. The driver I was asking to add was MYSELF, the one who actually made the reservation and whose name was on the email confirmation! After 20 minutes on the phone talking to the first rep and then to Chelsea with no results, I decided to call Avis. They told me to call Priceline about this and when I explained the process I had just been through the Avis agent eagerly made the change for me. I will not use Priceline again due to the insistent attitude of both customer reps who were obviously reading from a script rather than trying to help a longtime customer. Anonymous 7/14/10 7:50PM

trying to get a hold of a customer service rep for a hotel cancelation was a nightmare. after calling the customer service number on my confirmation it sent me to another number. the new number was a national information number that charged me for the call and then they sent me to another number that was not pricelines. after finally finding a phone number on line was i able to talk to a person and make the cancelation. i will not use their service again. Priceline seems to have a number of options available to them in a star system and brand system of choosing hotels. They should add another for those who choose to "name their own price" i.e. Family Friendly - this would indicate that the hotel the person was bidding upon included breakfast in the price. We recently stayed at a Staybridge, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Mariott, and a Sheraton. The first two included breakfast and had internet in the rooms; while Courtyard had internet - no breakfast and Sheraton neither (no refrigerator in the room either). I would not have bid on a Courtyard or Sheraton room if I had known.... Anonymous 7/12/10 7:57PM

I booked an overseas vacation with priceline, for a trip from new york to london for myself and my son. A friend suggested I stay a bit longer, as I might not return to london very soon, and thinking that was a good idea, I called priceline. I was told that while I could change my reservations for a huge fee, that the hotel cost was set in stone, and completely nonrefundable, nor could it be lengthened or shortened at all.
None of this was printed in my 3 page long itinerary, though it's possible that it was mentioned on the phone when I made my bookings.
I don't believe that I really saved much money, and with all the baloney about no exchanges and no refunds, I will not be using them again. Next time, I'll use a local travel agent, and be a much more savvy travel shopper.
While my trip isn't ruined, it's completely unchangeable. I could be much happier, though right now, I'm steamed at their policies.PJ from New York 7/12/10 1:35PM

Very disappointed with Priceline, I know now you don't care if a flight is over 36 hours as long you get your money. I wont book with you. Transferring my son's flight to other airlines with shortage of pilots that need to rest policy!!
And your customer service is a worthlessPhoenician 7/10/10 2:26PM

Priceline's policy does not allow you to shorten your stay. If you book 6 nights, you are not allowed to reduce it to 5, nor are you allowed to book another hotel through priceline if you are unsatisfied with the hotel. DO NOT use priceline if your plans are not 100% sure. There is NO flexibility. The hotel itself would have no problem with canceling the final day of my trip, but priceline is NOT flexible. I will never use this service again. And I did not save more than a few dollars. Anonymous 7/7/10 1:23PM

I think there should be a way to put an end to this extortion. At least one should be able to make decision on what to spent your money on. The policy for naming your price on Priceline.com should be seriously look into. This is a legitimate fraudulence. I paid for the hotel that i will not sleep in. I see no reason why one can't be allow to change your decision after making mistakes booking Air ticket, hotel or renting a car. This is pointless. Price line, you are a reap off!!! WOW!!!! Don't use the name your price! The Customer Service rep even said that it was a rip off. Granted when you book you are gambling with not knowing your hotel...that is not the problem they give you the furthest destination in the zone. Wanted to be near the Rose Garden for a venue, had to drive miles to get there! When I tried to cancel and rebook a much higher priced hotel I was told to pay first for the second reservation and call back to get refund less $25 cancellation fee. I did so got a hotel further out and ended up paying for both hotels. They said they never told me that. My word against theirs right? Was told sorry that "you feel that way" and I have reached the highest level of customer service offered. I now have two hotel rooms...name your price $85. Try $300 and I am stuck. Anyone need a hotel room on July 15 in Portland. I have two!!!! Pam 7/7/10 11:41AM

This Priceline is a real joke. I too have had "it" with the "mindless" renderings offered by those customer service associates at Priceline. I'm simply trying to gain a refund of an airline cancellation due to bereavement. This past month, I'd purchased a ticket via Priceline to visit an ailing grandmother, only to be notified of her eventual demise the next day. Of course, I barely missed the 24-hr window and was informed that I should cancel the flight or lose any attempt at a refund. I didn't want a refund, I only wanted to change the departure for 5 days later due to funeral arrangements. Priceline reps are very stubborn and will not deviate in the face of simplicity. It was now necessary to attend a funeral and thus I needed to purchase another ticket 5 days later via Priceline... in addition to a fare for my son to attend. I now have been given the runaround because I can't get my hands on a death certificate for approximately 1 month to validate the cancellation. In the meanwhile, I've shared information & verification from the mortuary, obituary column and program without any appreciation from Priceline. It's absurd, I cancel a flight and then book 2 additional flights because of a funeral and yet I have no one willing to exercise common sense and default to a position of basic rationale. Instead of traveling to visit a loved one on a Friday, I'd been forced to now attend a funeral 5 days later..same destination and proof of my attendance at this funeral. The darn customer service "robot" is basically programmed to read from a script and will not waiver. It's so frustrating..never again Priceline. Never again. disgusted to say the least 7/6/10 12:34PM

another "real person" at priceline. Of course all he will say is "no" but you may get lucky and he will actually help. He claimed he was an "executive" yet is unable to make any decisions. Won't do anything but at least it is a real person.

Thank you for posting Lisa Gillingham's phone number. Had an issue this morning where the CSR kept telling me no managers are around and nothing could be done. All I got was the snail mail address. So happy for the phone number.
booked an entire vacation noon wednesday - priceline keeps locking up so hard to do any searches. Did the same search early this morning and it was $80 less - pretty big different for a $900 trip. Of course it was over 24 hours and wouldn't honor the best price guarantee.
Don't understand why a company would spend so much on advertisting and then do nothing over $80 except say too bad. No apology, no future trip coupon, nothing.
what a waste.

Be very careful booking a car rental through Priceline. I got a car rental through Priceline two months before our trip - saving $30 over the best other price I could find on a $400 rental. Now, just two weeks before the trip, my daughter found that using the same non Priceline process I used previously we can get the car rental for $120 and, of course, we are already paid and locked in with Priceline. Do not use Priceline for car rentals. Dave 7/2/10 7:46AM

I purchased a hotel & airfare package June 19th & cancelled it the same day, approximately 4 hours after booking.
I received the refund for the hotel Monday, June 22nd. Almost 2 weeks later, I have not received the refund for the airfare.
I've called several times a day & no one is able to tell me when I will receive the refund. I've e-mailed & was given a customer service number for someone who barely spoke English. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and was told there are on supervisors or managers at Priceline. I find this extremely difficult to believe.
I am asked if I've checked with my credit card company to see if the refund has been received..Helloooooo! If the refund was received, while would I be wasting my time with Priceline.
Be careful when booking with Priceline. They are very eager to take your money, but it takes an act of Congress to get it back.
I would not recommend Priceline to anyone.

Priceline has robots doing what real people should be doing.Their business is basically 1.You buy 2.Customer has a short turnaround to amend any errors 3.They buy themselves time by making it impossible to speak with a live rep. 4.if you think their automated svc will help you, you only end up confirming the reservation, which makes the transaction unrefundable.I found this number when I googled "Priceline Live Representative"18778509658. I recently booked a room in Nashville, TN. I selected the location (downtown/Vandy area) and asked for 3-4 star rating. VERY disappointed!! They put us at the Maxwell House Hotel. The location required that we had to get on the interstate and travel to get to and from downtown. This was business tied with leisure, so we wanted the downtown atmosphere. The 3-4 star rating was a joke!! The hotel technically had all the amenities, but was dirty with poor quality beds and linens. The restaurant was poor service and quality. Very disappointed in Priceline for not checking this out! My brother, who lives in Nashville, told me later that it's well known that the hotel is in an undesirable area, and very run down. Ruined our trip! Won't take anymore chances with Priceline. Not worth it! tblattner 6/23/10 2:27PM

I tried to cancel a car rental today because of a cardiac condition. I have a letter from my doctor stating that I should cancel all travel plans.

I should have known better than to try Priceline. I place a lot of value on customer service and learned the hard way that Priceline does not. I reserved a hotel through them and mistakenly booked in an area nowhere near where I need to be. After the fact I "retraced my steps" to understand how it happened and immediately called "Customer Service" (which seems to be an out-of-country call center) to explain I am a Priceline first-timer and described how the error occurred... they were completely unsympathetic and unforgiving.
While I admit I screwed up (and you can take this review with however many grains of salt you wish) they made no attempt to rectify the situation and basically told me "you blew it - live with it". Now my plans for this trip are completely screwed up because I'm staying miles from where I need to be... not to mention I PAID MORE than had I booked direct with the hotel and been able to cancel.
Buyer beware - you have zero recourse when buying through Priceline. Totally understand that's part of their business model... and now know their business is not for me. My first mistake was going to Priceline at all.Anonymous 6/21/10 1:50PM

In February I made a hotel reservation through Priceline for 2 nights to attend a wedding. When I arrived at the hotel last weekend [June], I was told that they had cancelled all the "dot-com" reservations as the hotel had overbooked. The hotel clerk informed me they had arranged for me to stay at another hotel. When I got to the second hotel, I was told they only had room for 1 night, not 2. I declined. Much later, after leaving and returning to the second hotel, the clerk there indicated that she could in fact accomodate the second night by upgrading someone else who was arriving the next day. Bless her!! That was the first and last time I will ever use Priceline. Oh yeh, the second hotel cost me over $175.00 MORE than the Priceline reservation, which is supposed to be refunded. Priceline may save you money, but obviously a reservation is not really a reservation, and they can "bump" you with no notice at all, leaving you stuck in a strange city without a place to stay. umscats 6/11/10 7:35PM

My husband and I booked a hotel in Showlow AZ.
WE had to change the reservation by one day. We called the hotel to make the change and the person we talked to didnt know what to do as she was new. By the time the hotel got back to us it was too late. WE caled Priceline and explained that my husband had gotten ill and we had to make the change. It was only 1 day. They would not budge. We spoke to a supervisor and he told me they would make a change with a doctor or hospital note!!!
I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, do busines with such a company again.
I am retired and travel a lot as do my friends. I told them of my experience, they will never do business with Priceline either.
Priceline should be aware that when someone has a bad experience they will tell at least 100 people. If they have a good experience they will tell only 9 people.

I recently booked a trip to s.c. for my husband and my anniverary, which is june 17, 2010. My husband 2 months ago went through a tough time with his heart, where the doctor at that time there isn't much more he could do for my husband. I thought it would be a great anniversary get away for us. I booked on May 25. They charged my credit card 280.00 immediately, I didn't read the fine print and even bought some type of insurance, which was extra, to make a story shorter, my husband went to the doctor's and the doctor said "he couldn't make the trip do to his heart, that was 2 days later, so i called priceline, who was so uncompassionate, we gave the doctors phone number to verify, and the customer service rep. said he would refund my money minus a 25. cancellation fee, i thought great, and i told my husband that i would be getting my money back, and he was happy, well then i get another email stating i was only getting back 160. which i thought ok, so i am losing 120.wow, so i again called and emailed them, and they went and took out another 100.00 out of my credit card, now realize NO refund, out now 380. I contacted my bank and told them this was not right and asked them to dispute these charges, I may not win this , but I am hoping I can recoup my money, or some of it, this is a scam, and NO i didn't read their print, which is my fault, I understand that, but I will never ever use priceline, nor will anyone I know, I will make sure I tell everyone, and let them know how low-life these people are. sugarf35 5/30/10 6:20AM

I used priceline to name my own price. I put in an airport (jfk) and I was given a different airport in the area(lga)then called them right away and said I was given the wrong airport they said in the contract I clicked off both jfk and lga, which was untrue. They then said sometimes the best price airline is automatically checked off and I should've seen that. In the end I had to cancel that flight, which they charged $100 per ticket to do. The deal is if you book another flight with them they'll waive the $100 per canceled ticket and only charge a $30 fee. I then did all this eventhough I did not want to because I felt I did nothing wrong. I then called them up and had to speak to about 3 different reps and they told me that the original charge from name my own price wouldn't even post to my cc since I canceled and got new tickets all with in 20 min. But of course I look at my cc statement and they charged me anyways. A week later and the charge has still not been removed after calling on numerous occasions. Their customer service is all outsourced and you will speak to someone who does not speak english well and who is not at all accommodating. They will just say yes we apologize but say they cant do anything. Sometimes some common sense needs to be used which they are absent of.
Also got screwed bec. flight prices went down and jetblue would've honored it but of course priceline said they do not. All in all they are the worst customer service and are not flexible at all and I pretty much got screwed by $100 per ticket by booking with priceline. Will never use them again. I am using price line for the first and last time. This company should not be able to do business. The system is flawed. I asked for one city and got another 1 hour and 10 minutes away. When asked for a resolution they basically told me NO.

Worse company ever. They won't even hold your price for the 2 minutes it takes for you to fill out your information and give them your credit card number. At least Ticketmaster tells you, we'll hold these seats and this price for 5 minutes, good luck with that on priceline. When I talked to them they said they had not control over the prices, they change minute by minute from the airlines. If they have no control then why do they post any price at all if it's going to change? I told the lady on the phone it was kind of like going to a store, seeing the price, taking the product to the register and having the price change in that short amount of time. I asked her if she would go to a store like that personally, she said, "of course not!" Anonymous 5/22/10 9:19AM

I have used Priceline over the last few years without a problem. Using the number above, I was able to speak with someone at customer care about a recent reservation. Michelle was very polite and tried to help but unfortunately cannot do anything about my situation. I had booked flights through Name Your Price less than two weeks ago for a trip next month but found out yesterday that the airfare per ticket had dropped considerably. Knowing that the tickets I got were non-exchangeable and non-refundable, I still took a chance that perhaps someone can help me if I made an appeal (the savings for me would have been considerable since there was a big group traveling with me). Although she did not help me in the way I had hoped, she was still very apologetic about it and respectful as well. Also her English was perfect - so we had no problem communicating. She did explain to me that had I tried to make changes within 24 hours of the reservations, something could have been done (though I don't know that the airfare would have changed much within those 24 hours). Also, if I had used Priceline ticketing directly instead of "naming my own price", there is still a way to change my reservations, although I'll have to pay $100-$150 per ticket to do so. Oh well - lesson learned. I won't mind using Priceline in the future but maybe not buy tickets too far in advance. Anonymous 5/21/10 1:37PM

I honestly have to say Priceline is horrible. Its ironic that they strive for excellent customer service. I used the name your own price deal. By mistake i booked two flights. I completely understand that they are not refundable. I explain myself to customer service and stated that I did not want my money back but if they could credit me with a hotel, car, etc. I never, at any moment wanted my money back, and just wanted a credit; I even told them that I would book the rest of my trip with them (hotels, car rentals) I completely understand policies/contracts. The three representatives that I spoke too, did absolutely nothing for me, except read from the computer that my tickets are not refundable and basically too bad. None of them went out of there way to speak to someone else to see if I had any other options. They basically sound like robots. I'm still waiting for a reply from the vice-president of the company. It's very sad because you would think that during these rough times, they would be extra nice to their customers. Never again will I use priceline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anonymous 5/21/10 12:52PM

I used priceline for the first time on May 18th and the last time on May 18th 2010. The compny and their attitude is deplorable. I searched the Mesa AZ area for a hotel and specifically searched only that area. I wound up at a Ramada Inn in front of a strip club in Tempe, 30 minutes away from family and grand kids. I called to switch to the Ramada one block away from family and was refused the switch. I spoke to priceline customer service and customer relations, and was emphatically told now it couldn't be done and had I called before noon (in flight amd dod mpt know where the hotel was located) that day they could do it. I suggested that I pay for one night and transfer to other closer by. NO NO NO>
I caution everyone to stay away from priceline it is not a deal. If you call the hotel you want direct the hotel will match the deal. BEWARE GO DIRECT. Especially for HOTELSPagpie 5/21/10 7:17AM

I made the mistake of using Priceline. I bought a plane ticket over 3 months ago, and when I was buying my plane ticket it scheduled my flight to a different location. I just used priceline to purchase my flight and i used the "name your own price" option. they picked a random time for my flight and took the money out of my debit card right away without giving me an option. I called customer service and they said there's nothing i could do, I explain them i have a final at that time, and they did not care. i bought two tickets worth $700 and they are basically telling me that i lost my money!! this website sucks!! I will never use it again. Lets all bring up a lawsuit against them!! bellababe 5/17/10 2:35PM

Priceline has a horrid business ethic. My mother is in the hospital, I tried to fly home, when a mistake was made on the spelling of the name.. they would not just change the ticket. They could not find a way to help me get home.. they tied up my credit card and I WAS NOT ABLE TO FLY HOME. They could have with all of today's technology simply changed the spelling of the name... BUT hey.. 5-10 business days from now.. when they return my money...I can fly home nice huh?? renegade1452 5/16/10 6:20AM

Priceline has lost this customer for LIFE!! My wife recently was schedules to travel and see her father. He passed away one week before her scheduled flight and had to catch a much earlier flight home. Priceline would not reschedule the flight or reimburse us even after we followed their "protocol". We were asked to fax a certificate of death. The funeral did fax proof of death to priceline and we recieved--- nothing! When we finally reached an agent by phone (which is a hassel in itself) they told us the fax was not "legiable". The funeral home gave US a very "legiable" copy. So, since the deadline for sending a "legiable" fax was not sent (according to priceline) that they would now have to send this to another handler for processing, which would take up to 90 to 120 days. REALLY! You got to be kidding me! It has to be like this!? How hard is for you to show some compassion- priceline?!!! My wife's father just passed away. Is it so hard for you to just reschedule a flight or to reimburse someone when a customer is grieving over a loved one? You'd rather them have to deal with your run-around "protocol" (crap!) rather than dealing with the necessary process of
grieving?; or, are you just using the grieving process to your own advantage?!! But, you don't care about that...(it's obvious). It's because priceline is a bunch of HEARTLESS BASTARDS!!! Maybe, just maybe, you all need a new updated fax machine that
prints "legiable" death certificates. I have a suggestion: Use the money you just stole from this "inquiring" customer (customer no longer) and get you a new one. Priceline is definitely not a customer friendly operation. When you take advantage of grieving customers the final concensus in anybody's mind would be that- YOU SUCK! Who cares about extra savings when you treat people the way you do.... Advocate no longer.Priceline.com Nonadvocate 5/11/10 10:54AM

Just got off the phone with priceline... 1st time that I called I was hung up on after 30 minutes of talking with their "customer care" agent, and another 10 minutes on hold.
2nd call, I was asking about the 24 hour priceline guarantee, so that I wouldnt be confused. The customer service agent said that there isn't a 24 hour guarantee, because prices change every minute. He clearly stated that it is more of a minute guarantee, and if they are unable to find the price, there is nothing that they will do for you. So yeah, for now it seems that I am overpaying about 65 dollars, that is hoping that they don't charge different then what I was quoted.Anonymous 5/6/10 1:50PM

Priceline is a lie and I will do all I can to establish a class-action lawsuit. Priceline garanteed a car rental price that my daughter negotiated for $102 and Alamo charged her an extra $75. Priceline also garantees that one can negotiate a price when they actually can NOT. Priceline is misleading and lying. I am taking an ad out in the Seattle times exposing Priceline's lies and proceeding with a lawsuit. Captain Kirk will not be happy with Priceline because he will be named in my lawsuit. Priceline has the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. I have spoken to 5 different people with their company and not one of them was from the United States, and not one of them spoke decent English! I was over charged by them by over 100.00 for two rooms, when I called to bring it to their attention I was told that they cant help me and it's aganist company policy to give me a phone number of some one in management. What a crock of UN american crap! hate priceline 5/4/10 6:33PM

I will NEVER use priceline again! Be very careful of their contractual agreement (* pay an extra $5 for cancelation insurance), it is only for cases of emergency and you must show proof! I have used HOTWIRE several times before, even for out of the country, and I will never stray from Hotwire again! I tried Priceline and what a mistake. Also, their customer service representatives, if you get lucky enough to talk to a human, cannot speak English anyway, so it does not really matter! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Sunnie of Newport Beach, CA. Well here is another one. DON'T BOOK THROUGH PRICELINE.... YOU WILL BE SCREWED. I booked a hotel through their "name your own price". Since you can't see the hotel your pricing for you can not compare pricing. The hotel that I got, I was able to find a lower price on the hotels website. When I tried to confront their customer no service, they would not match the price, would not discount the price or cancel the reservation, in fact I was hung up on by their customer no service. You will always get the lesser/old hotel and with in that hotel you will always be booked you their low-end rooms. Not worth the time or money. Spend the extra bucks and enjoy your time off. I recently purchased a ticket and like many of us, we have certain demands from our work that we can't ignore. I purchased insurance (which isn't really insurance) thinking that if something happened I could change my itenary.
Long story short, I was told to contact the airline to change my depature time and they told me that If I were to use any other online agency they would be more than happy to help, but NOT Priceline. Priceline has no flexibility for the business professionals and I suggest you use another agency on your next purchse.downwithpriceline 4/27/10 6:54PM

It was this past weekend when we arrived in Las Vegas, and tried checking into our hotel. The receptionist informed us that the booking was for May 1st vs. Apr 26... this was not correct as we had printed out the iterinary prior. We where told to call priceline, which we did using the very unhelpfull 1-800 number. The agent put us on hold at least 7 times before he offered the option to rebook and be refunded our original amount... hmmm sounds good. Checked my email, and noted that NOTHING that the agent told me on the phone was on the email. I called back and was again placed on hold, and pawned off several times, none of which offered resolution. All I wanted was something in writing saying yup, this is what we said. I was told that I would receive an email with details only after I rebooked thru Priceline... LOL, moma didn't raise no fool, screw you PL. Well I guess they got the last laugh, because now my CC is charged twice for the same room, and I can't get a single person to answer the issue. Never again. Tell your freinds there's plenty of other agencies that will take care of their customers, why use one that won't. Flyhigher26 4/27/10 10:50AM

Unfortunately I will be unable to ever use Priceline in the future and find their "customer service" to be anything but. As I was confirming 2 car rentals tonight, their system or my computer (I have no idea) changed the dates of my 1 week Savannah reservation in June to the same dates as my 3 day NY reservation. I called immediately to try to remedy the error and amend the Savannah dates. I was routed to the Philippines and informed that they would do me a "special favor" and cancel the incorrect reservation in SAV BUT would charge a $22 fee to do so and would not even attempt to correct the dates I had originally requested. They explained that correcting the error "would be breaking their contract with their partners," namely Hertz in this instance. Priceline sounds good, but it is about as non-customer oriented as any business I have ever used and I will never do business with the company again. The Priceline rep and manager were both quite cordial, offering lovely apologies while doing nothing to try to remedy a bad situation. I will talk to Hertz and the Better Business Bureau and hope I can post a terrible rating for a poorly managed company. suzygsells 4/26/10 9:21PM

Booked a package with them for our Hotels in Mexico last year. They had the swine flu out break and the goverment advised no travel. When I contacted them they asked for my number and never returned the calls. We called the hotels they said if you book with them you have to deal with them. I advise never to use the service. We only wanted vouchers for a later date and they took our money and ignored us. I wrote them three times.

I do not recommend Priceline. The customer service is not available unless you send an email.
You must make sure you do not have to cancel the reservation. Once you make a reservation you are locked in and charged if you use it or not.
The $38.00 I saved is not worth not having the option to cancel. Will never use them again and will not recommend them for nothing.

Total time spent on phone with Priceine customer service: 4 hours, 45 minutes.
Priceline responses to emails, comments on Facebook fan page, tweets: Zero.
Request?: Four separate agents told me my reservation cancelation fee would be $50. (I have all their employee IDs/names recorded.) The website says my card is being charged roughly $300 dollars. Why the discrepancy?
Answer: NONE. Forwarded request to numerous departments. After two days, and almost 5 hours on the phone, I haven't gotten an answer.

NOT GOOD AT ALL! I booked a hotel room from 4/1 - 4/3 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas,TX from LAX. LAX was overcrowded due to Spring BReak, which I was unaware of. I missed my flight becuase of this and was put on standby. I called the hotel to let them know I may not make it there for 4/1. They told me to call Pricline since I booked through them. Priceline in turn tells me to call the hotel back becuase the hotel should have held the room overnight. I asked that my reservation be changed to 4/2-4/4. Neither the hotel or priceline would accommodate me. I will be filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs against both companies. chefap 4/8/10 11:30AM

Priceline is a joke!! I have been waiting since 1/1/10 to get a callback from a supervisor!! I did research on 3 star hotels in the area that I wanted to stay and ALL of them had indoor pools (at least that what priceline states in the amenities). I checked in, my daughters and I changed to go to the pool and guess what? NO POOL!!!!! I immediately checked out and went to another hotel. On the way there, I called customer service and spoke to a non-english speaking gentlemen who proceeded to give me pointers on bidding!!! Never again will I use Priceline. This was the first time I bought a ticket from them and this is the most inconvenience I have ever had while travelling. I bought a ticket in January for April travel to NY. Around 3 weeks before I supposed to travel, my itinerary says that one of the connecting flights has been cancelled and had 2 alternate flight options. When I called Priceline, they had no information about the cancellation, refused to see my email and instead asked me to call the airline directly. And of course the airline asked to call Priceline as we bought the tickets from them. They said that there are apparently 2 or more brokers involved in the ticket purchase. When I called Priceline again, I had the worst customer service experience EVER. The guy obviously did not understand English, and instead started quoting me 500+ one way ticket when we bought two return flights to NY for the same price.
To be on a safer side, I ended up using my miles and bought a new one way ticket only to find later that because I did not travel on the first flight, my return got cancelled. Not only did I have the email that my flight has been cancelled, but also this customer rep did not tell me anything regarding the issues with the return flight if I didn’t travel one way. I guess I don’t travel that often and relied on Priceline for giving me proper information. So do yourself a favor and buy directly for the airline because if there’s any glitch, an airline will handle it properly. The inconvenience that I suffered was definitely not worth the money that I saved.
I wanted to talk to someone in US regarding this issue which is how stumbled upon this website. And reading the comments, I just had to put in my experience as well.

Okay, My last name is Mendoza. I am hispanic. But I couldn't find someone to form a damn sentance in english to save my life. I couldn't understand the customer service representative and they could only speak from their script. Come on people. I called customer service three separate times because I got booked at a B&B with a two year old. A two year old at a B&B. Not going to work. It was a rustic beautiful Victorian home. Not going to work with a two year old. I couldn't get a straight answer about switching to a HOTEL from anyone at customer service which is what I thought priceline was all about, HOTELS. Three calls and not one person understood what my question was. Horrible. We got complaints from the front desk because my daughter was playing and of course we would. So I asked if they could refund my money and we would gladly go stay somewhere else, not priceline's policy. Priceline is horrible. But I guess that's what you get for not really knowing what your getting. mrsmendoza 3/26/10 2:04PM

Never again. I booked my flight through Priceline and then the airline changed my flight time. I was told, via email, that I could change the flight or get a full refund. After what felt like an eternity on hold, Priceline told me I'd have to speak to the airline. The airline bounced me back to Priceline only to find out it was Priceline who would issue the refund. Hopefully. It is now two weeks since I was promised all of my money back and no money. No one responds to my emails and I can't get an american on the phone. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! It is now my personal goal to make sure that no one purchases from priceline. I had to cancal a vacation package due to a court date. After my initial anger of them unwilling to help, I got over that there would be fees assoc with canceling. I paid 481 for the trip, I was informed I was would receive 206 back for the tickets (100 charge per ticket canceled and 25 per night of the hotel, which was 3 nights). I call in because I see priceline CHARGED me an additional 75, rather than issuing any sort of refund. They tell me "I dont know..." and also tell me my expected refund is 128... WHAT?! Now this morning, I have checked my account and see that I was charged 75 AGAIN... WTF is going on?! No one has answers and no one has a supervisor - apparently they all dont have a manager or boss at there call center. PLUS half the time I cant understand what theyre saying and vice versa... I am still trying to get my full refund for a Las Vegas hotel cancellation due to the December storms on the east coast. I could list all of the mistakes the customer service team made, their limited ability to affect a change, their dishonesty but ... bottom line they lost me ... forever. TO ALL MILITARY, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, OR ANYONE ELSE ATTEMPTING TO BOOK VIA PRICELINE.
We are a military family of four and one of our vacation trips included Holland. So we booked through Priceline and was offered a NM Amsterdam Centre. We have two children in which normally hotels offer double beds or sleeping cots. Not this hotel, in fact they told me that they don't even ALLOW CHILDREN in the hotel and if they do, they would only allow 1 child. Well that's a problem with us! To resolve the situation, they requested me to contact Priceline because they were unable to help me - no additional rooms or additional cot for our 2nd child.
I called Priceline and was told by a Maria (rep number 825041) that they cannot do anything for me. That I need to contact the hotel and book another room. I asked her if there is anything else she can do besides referring back to a hotel who had no other options. Maria offered to call the hotel directly. After Maria call the hotel and was told the same thing - NO ADDITIONAL ROOMS AVAILABLE, Maria pretty much said that I could contact management via Priceline's investor relations webpage, but she cannot help me.
I have booked through PL before and have never had any problems up until this trip. And the inflexibility is unacceptable.

I will NEVER use Priceline again! I booked a room in Ft. Lauderdale for a Wed & Thurs night stay at 10:30 am on Wed morning. When I arrived at the hotel at 1:30 pm...hoping for an early check in...it actually turned out to be a MOTEL located directly on a 6 lane major busy street and the room was just NASTY...for $160 a night. I contacted Priceline for some assistance in cancelling and they said I could not cancel because it was past 12:00 noon. Considering I just booked it at 10:30 and most hotels check in is at 4:00...how could I have possibly cancelled by noon? So I was stuck in Motel Hell, that I left my shoes by the bed in fear of walking on the carpet in my bare feet, listening to high volume traffic and I was supposed to be happy paying $353.00 for? The entire experience was just a nightmare and I have Priceline to thank for all their customer service...I really appreciate everything Priceline did for me...Thanks! Julie 2/27/10 1:42PM

I am writing about a glitch in that happened last night Feb 25th 2010. I was bidding on a rental car and there was a glitch. It showed that they were unable to take my info and asked me to press previous. So I did and i saw where I punched in something that was wrong, then proceded, it skipped a section and I thought I was in the originalversion. I made a mistake by not reading, but it was not the norm. I feel like I was SCAMMMMED and this is not right.
I immediately called and was treated like I just got done gambling in a back alley and it was my problem. I know people probably try to stick you guys but this was an obvious glitch and my concern only went to deaf ears. This was not my falt and not my routine when ordering a car thru priceline.

I had a 2 rooms rented for 1 night in the Nashville area. I contacted the hotel and let them know that i would not be joined by my second party and that I would like to just change the reservation from 1 night, 2 Rooms to 2 nights, 1 room. Making the amount of money they would receive the exact same and freeing up 1 room for an additional possible sale. They said "We cannot change the reservation in any way, for any reason, even if it would be bennificial to us".So i called Priceline.... They proceeded to read me the contract from the internet. Which says almost exactly what the hotel said. They added, that if they wanted to they still do not have the option in the system. This is unintelligent to turn down the option to make more money. I hope and pray they go out of buisiness for being so freaking stupid. You'll see that i gave the Friendliness a 4. Its possible to be stupid and nice at the same time. As far as product knowledge, any idiot can read a cue card. Intelligent Thinker 2/18/10 2:03PM

I will NEVER use Pricline ever again. Booked a flight to Jamaica, they called to say our flight was cancelled so "we" needed to contact the airlines where they had booked us with. The airlines say they never recieved any money from them and they cannot refund us our money. I have never been so angry before, I am only getting the run around and I am sick and tired of their crap. I will never use them again! I will only book with the airlines directly from now on. This is a very hard lesson to learn! SHame on Priceline for stealing our hard earned money and for being a bad company.

I booked a hotel through Priceline for a hotel in the Downtown Disney area in Walt Disney World. What I got was a hotel in downtown Orlando, which is 20+ miles away with a $40 taxi ride to and from the park each day. After various E-Mails back and forth with their customer service representatives(without resolutions to my problem), I have learned a very expensive lesson:What you see is not always what you get! I hope this will save heartache for other prospective customers. Don't use them! Captain Kirk should be ashamed to be a spokesperson for this unreputable company! wmt 2/17/10 7:19AM

Do NOT use priceline if you ever have to cancel or talk to their customer service about anything..their people have strong accents making a undertandable conversaiton impossible-plan on making atleast 5 calls at 45 minutes each and talk to atleast 10 people and a manager before you begin to come close to resolving your problem. I was suppose to get a refund and it never appeared, each person I talked to made up a new story and had to put me on hold to figure it out..they promise to call back and never do..they are really nice but do not understand what your telling them..its sad becuase if they had good customer service I would use them for many years to come.. dedagon13 2/16/10 2:42PM

Bought a vacation package on Priceline. 2 hours later, the same exact package on the same site (Priceline) was $150 cheaper.
Called their customer service line and talked to 2 different people who somehow were not able to find the same package for the lower price on their own site, even though I was able to whilst talking to them on the phone!
Note: it takes me a whole 1 minute to fill out the criteria from their home page and wait for a result. 2 airport codes, 2 dates, # of travelers = 5 fields to fill out - but they would keep me on hold for 10 minutes while they 'tried' to find the same package.
One rep even said that it wasn't the same hotel. And then she changed it to that it wasn't the same flight. Basically, she was lying to get out of making the price match.
Now I got a rep who says that he was able to find the lower price but he cannot match it because it is from their own site!
So:
A) the first 2 reps were lying in saying they could not find the cheaper price
B) Priceline will not match their own prices
I hung up on the last guy and he ended up calling me back and asking if I had any other questions....yeah, great customer service!
And now I'm reading their Best Price Guarantee which says, "The lower priced vacation package must be found on an online site operated by priceline.com or another travel reservation service for the identical vacation package" - so it says right there that even if the price is lower on Priceline itself they have to match it!
So now I'm back at square one, calling their customer service line and going through the whole, "please wait the 10 minutes it takes us to bring up the package only for us to tell you it's not the same."bodog 2/9/10 5:19PM

We had booked a stay in Cranberry and immediatly realized it was the wrong Cranberry, so no big deal right! WRONG! We called customer service to change locations and they wouldn't let us, no way, no how. We still wanted to book with Priceline and they refused to help us. Be careful before you cancel! I booked a trip to Ireland over my 40th birthday in March of this year, then realized that I might not be able to make it to the airport in time for my departing flight, so I called Priceline to cancel within the 24 hours they state you have to cancel after making the initial reservation. When I thought it over, I realized I could in fact make my departing flight and told the agent I was speaking to that I wanted to keep the reservation after all and not to cancel it. He assured me that it was not and that all was good.
Eight minutes later, I get an e-mail from Priceline confirming - you guessed it - that my flight, in fact, *was* cancelled. Not only do I have to re-book the flight, which will now prevent me from checking out London in the extended layover I had from my original itinerary, it will most likely cost me more and may not even get me the return flight on the day I need at all.
After finding this number to call Priceline and talk to a real live person (and don't even get me started about their *other* "customer service" number), I was forwarded to someone who mentioned that a research request was being issued and that someone would call me within 24 hours. When I called back to see if there was a reference or ticket number, there was none - only the notes on the account that it was getting done. That makes me feel reeeeeally confident that somebody is going to get back in touch with me, and even if they do, I am really doubting they're going to do a whole lot for me other than to tell me that I should be glad I got my money back and to try to book the flight again. If that happens, just beam me outta here, because I'll never negotiate with Priceline again.raverboy4ever 2/4/10 8:08PM

I booked two airline tickets mid January for my wife and I. They were for mid March. I found out 2 or 3 days later that something came up and I could not make that trip. So my daughter who is a frequent flier of the airline we booked said she would go instead, I was happy that she could accompany my wife and proceeded to let Priceline know of what happened and to change my ticket to my daughters. I was told that I could not do this even that my flight was not for six weeks away. I would be responsible and that I could not change the name on the ticket. I would have to pay $150.00 penality plus the price of the ticket that was at the present cost. So I suggest not to get an ticket to far in advance and check other travels because they were not as cheap as others. Anonymous 1/30/10 9:17AM

We booked through priceline and were not able to see what hotel they had booked us at until after the booking. Upon reading the reviews it said that the hotel was bug infested. I recently booked a hotel room on Priceline. I accidentally entered the wrong area, and was booked in a hotel room 1 hour away from where I needed to be.
I called Priceline immediately and they informed me that there would be a 25$ cancellation fee if I rebooked a hotel for the same dates as my first trip that I had cancelled.
Everything was great right? Wrong!
I checked my bank account prior to leaving for my trip. My bank account had been over drafted. Price line charged me incorrectly 3 seperate times for the hotel room that was cancelled. In which the next day they refunded my money, when they charged 3 times extra it caused me to overdraft my account and my bank changed me 156$ in overdraft fees! Because of Pricelines error!
I called my bank, my bank told me to call priceline, I called Priceline and got someone obviously not in USA. He was reading from a script, everytime I asked a question they told me to hold for just one more second, and they took all of my information, and then told me that they did nothing wrong, that it was MY fault that I didn't have the funds in my account to cover for thier mistake.
I dont understand how a company could be any means successful if they can't even figure out customer service.
I have already reported them to the BBB.Tikisaila 1/19/10 12:42PM

Why must one have to use google to find a number to actually talk to a person in customer service?
The guy I spoke to couldn't actually form a sentence without reading from his script.

We had to cancell our vacation package and had the insurance. They should have more detail on the insurance then just a box that says it covers you in the event you can't make the trip. It should be in plain view and full details. How about a box that says, if you get real sick or die you will get your money back. Oh, also if the airport is shut down for 24 hours according to the company that sells the insurance. My wife and I are out 600 in penalties and can't take the trip now. Thanks Priceline. I will be sure to never use your service and let others know to stay clear. I would rather spend more and have peace of mind.
I will be diputing the penalties with the exception of the insurance fees. If my cc company states I have to pay it guess what. I wont pay them either I am that upset about this.

I made a reservation on priceline.com, for my boyfriend and I to fly home for christmas, leaving San Francisco & flying into Boston. I learned that I would need to stay on the east coast for another week for work - so I called up Priceline to move my return flight. They said they'd charge me extra -- no big deal, totally expected. Then, I called the airline (alaska air) to talk about seat reservations -- and learned that my boyfriend's ticket had been CANCELLED. For no reason. This never came up in my call, this was completely out of left field. I call priceline back to get them to fix this -- and of course, this plane is now booked. And instead of trying to get me and my boyfriend on another plane -- because of a mistake THEY made -- they are telling me that they're "reviewing the tapes" to see where the mistake was made, and will call me in 24 hrs. My plane is due to leave in 29 hrs -- and my boyfriend is now facing christmas alone, because of a mistake THEY MADE. They've even admitted, several times on the phone, that this is an "agent error." Their supervisors are stonewalling me, I cant' even get them to refund my money so I can go elsewhere. I have no idea what to do. annmelissa 12/21/09 6:07PM

I rented a mid size car through priceline and their website said a midsize was a Pontiac g6 or similar. When I called the Rental company to find out the car i was getting, they told me that I was getting a 2 door Pontiac g5 (a car priceline calls a compact). Their (priceline's) customer service would not help me get the car upgraded to a real mid size car and insisted that I cancel the reservation, rent the mid size car, and then send them a request to pay the difference (who know how that would pan out). This was all for a $15 difference to upgrade (petty on my part I know, but it was principal at this point). Needless to say, I cancelled the reservation and rented the larger car at the same price. This service works well for hotels, but stay away for rental cars. Disappointed Car Renter 12/17/09 4:12PM

I find it hard to belive that your company can not refund even one night in Branson, MO. We will never book with Priceline. It seems like everybody is trying to get the most out of everybody they can. We could not stay in the room in Branson, MO because it was so uncomfortable and we changed on Wednesday to a better hotel. I, like others, have never had an issue with Priceline, until recently. I had a flight reservation that the airline canceled. That was 10/25/09. I called on 10/26/09 to get a refund. I was assured a refund was forthcoming. It's now 12/6/09 and I have not received my refund. In attempting to contact Priceline I went through the various on-line numbers they list and none got me to a live service rep. I kept getting cycled through the same voice menu over and over. I, too, will never use Priceline again. But it won't stop there. I am contacting the CT BBB, Atty General and relevant local authorities to file charges agains Priceline's board and executives for theft, unless this gets resolved within 48 hours. Their so called "customer service" is run by a bunch of foreigners who barely speak English.
William Shatner should be ashamed of himself for representing this fraudulent company.
Priceline had a small boutique hotel listed as 4 star when it was barely a 3 star. The hotel's web site mentioned the were a certain sexual group friendly hotel.
I do not recall choosing a hotel with a sexual preference.
Hilton, Marriott, and every other hotel are friendly to everyone, not just one sexual group.

What the(&*(*? I placed an order 10/25 and I never received an email, itinerary #, etc. I planned for several hours to be sure my i's were dotted and t's crossed. I was exhausted and; of course, made the mistake of thinking I would get an email confirmation. At this point, I have to contact may bank and make sure I was not charged. If so, I will dispute it. I call the # provided, I don't have an itinerary # and my phone is not coming up. I don't know if I have my flight or not! I would have provided the correct phone number. Yes, I am upset. If I am charged, I will dispute it with my credit card company if I don't get confirmation from Priceline. You would think with all the money placed in advertising, they would at least have a customer service area to call that can help you verify if you placed an order or not. If not, I could place another and they would have my business. I wonder how much business they have lost doing this to people.

I just attempted to purchase some airline tickets from your website. I
am very unhappy with the result. I was under the impression that I was
paying for one thing until I got to the actual confirmation page when I
realized I did not get what I thought I was paying for. For someone to
spend almost $600 between flight and car rental and to not get what the
wanted is unfair. I did call customer service. They said my call
would be documented. I didn't think it would so that is why I am
writing this e-mail. I am still unsatisfied with the outcome of that
call. All I wanted was for them to see if they could put me and my
fiance on the flight I paid for. Instead they cancelled my reservation
minus $200. I don't know very many people that have money to throw away
like that. I have put another $200 in my bank all because your website
was not clear enough in letting the consumer know exactly what they are
or are not getting. I also have to wait 5 to 10 business days before I
can receive my money. Which means I have to wait to purchase the
correct package at a possibly larger price. I don't believe that is
fair and for a new customer there could have been a better way to handle
that situation. In order for me to get a refundon the other $200 I have
to use your website again, but after that I will no longer us
priceline.com. I know that just one person not using your site really
wont make much of a difference. But a person is more likely to tell
someone about a bad experience than they are to tell them about a good
experience. Especially when they are out $200.
--6months later--
I just called customer service today to rebook my reservation so that I could get my remaining $190 credit, which has mysteriously changed to $170. Only for them to tell me I have to pay for my ticket and wait 5 to 10 business days for them to refumnd my money. What I don't understand is if I already have a credit why do I have to give them more money in order to use it. And I also tried to change the credit card info on the reservation but they wouldn't let me. So now I guess i'll never see the rest of MY MONEY.. Priceline's customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.

I will not do a reservation in priceline again. I just got off the phone with the hotel and they cannot guarantee a non-smoking room or the bed type. If I am traveling with two adults and two kids, I need a room with two beds. So, now I don't have a choice but to try to get to the hotel early to see if they have a room available.
In another reservation, I was trying to add another room, and they are not able to add it to the same hotel or reservation. You have to bid for another room which can end up in another hotel at a different location.

Rented a car at name your own price, am 24 yrs old. Priceline states if your bid is accepted you WON'T be charged additional young renters fee (for under 25 yr olds)at counter. Well guess what, charged additional $50.00 at Alamo counter for young renter fee. Alamo said i had deal with priceline.
Called customer service & all they could say was "oh,sorry no we can't refund your $50.00, you have to deal with Alamo"
asked to talk to someone higher & she said "it won't do you any good, they will tell you same thing i told you." REALLY, that's customer service!!!???Anonymous 10/5/09 6:00AM

Priceline tricks people! They put a list of manhattan areas on a grid and stuck a non-manhattan area in with all the manhattan sections. Long island city is not manhattan, and it's an industrial area where noone would want to stay, yet priceline's web site makes it seem you are clicking all the manhattan areas and because they throw the LIC area in the middle of the midtown list, people click on it erroneously.
I called them immediately upon realizing they had tricked me and informed them that I would not honor their fraud. I was going to NYC for medical treatment and I did not select anything outside of manhattan.
After being transferred to a second rep, she refused to do anything for 90 mins. After 90 mins of me refusing to end the call, she put me on hold and came back offering me a one time exception based on medical illness, or a cancel and resubmit, my choice, except that I could not resubmit for any area for which I had already tried to get a "name your own price" hotel. I went w/ the medical.
After inquiring as to why I was not offered this when I first called, the CSR stated that they have to follow their policies. I will never use priceline again. They are dishonest and they trick people.
A contract is only valid if there is a meeting of the minds. When there is an obvious error or problem and the customer calls right away, they have no right to hold anyone to it because there is no meeting of the minds. Simply initialling a click through "contract" is not legally binding, especially when priceline is notified immediately.
Furthermore, they throw Long Island City into the manhattan listings in order to trick people into booking hotels there. It's an industrial area which noone wants to stay in, and people could get a room there for about $50. they end up getting reservations in that area for manhattan prices because they sneak that area into the manhattan section.
I wound up having to pay the $25 fee to get my reservation canceled. Priceline has lost a customer who travels to NYC for treatment monthly and I will never use them again. I would rather sleep on the floor of the airport.Griffin 10/1/09 10:18AM

I booked an online vacation to San Francisco, CA. The original "booking" for $398.00 was not available at the price quoted subsequently, I had to contact customer service to complete the reservation for $441.82 since, the hotel portion was no longer available therefore, I had to pay an additional $40.00 to book the reservation. The customer service representative stated that they would locate me a hotel. When I received my itinerary the Hotel booking was in Belmont, CA (not San Francisco) located 40 miles away from my destination. Upon arriving at the hotel, I immediately contacted priceline who informed me that it was the hotels call. Needless to say I missed out on vacation time since I had to use the 101 Freeway to get in and out of San Francisco which cost me more time, money and expenditures since my Destination was so far away. Priceline has done nothing to resolve this issue expect tell me that I agreed to the location. Specifically, Guillermo Lopez, stated that he listened to the taped recording of the booking and I stated that I wanted to be placed at the HILTON hotel..(untrue) Further, he states that the reservation clerk told me that the location of the hotel was in Belmont, Ca(also untrue) since, I've never even heard of Belmont, Ca).
I have spoken to over 15 employees of priceline and responded to over 7 emails with "customer service" however, they refuse to accept responsibility for the mishap with my reservation.ADSnowden 10/1/09 9:40AM

My advice to anyone using this booking agency, do NOT try to cancel your reservation after you book it even if its the day after you book it you WILL get charged the full amount for any and all charges even if your trying to move the dates and not cancel they will NOT work with you at all. I personally will never use them again. pricelinesucks 9/29/09 6:28AM

Priceline is HORRIBLE ! They will not refund my money eventhough I was charged twice for the same room once from Priceline and once from the Hotel. I wonder how many others have had to pay for the same room twice without knowing it? nana12 9/28/09 1:27PM

I had the worst hotel, not any of my needs were met by priceline. It was out of the area, not the right stars and they accepted me for a room for $80.00 when i wrnt to teir home page it was posted as a great deal without bidding for $62.00. Sure, they gave it to me when i pointed out the error. But would not continue a search for a nicer room as i asked.I had to take that one, that's it. It ruined my birthday\anniversary weekend. The room smelled musty and of mould. I will never use priceline again their customer service is a joke all they can say is you are locked in,no changes or refunds. bruce kauss 9/28/09 7:14AM

Made reservation for one night, paid priceline with debit card(charged my bank account immediately) printed the receipt and confirmation numbers. Arrived at hotel, was told NO reservation existed. Priceline customer DIService(3 times) told me confirmation numbers were non valid. Forced to pay a second time, to hotel, for room. Priceline refuses to refund my money. Final irony of this RIP OFF-- off the street rate to hotel was $7.42 LESS than Pricelines great deal. What Frauds! upset old man 9/27/09 9:16PM

DO NOT USE PRICELINE !!! I booked a name your own price hotel. They gave me a hotel
OUTSIDE of their shaded map area directly on an expressway. I called & argued with them.
What a joke. You get some person in another country that has no intention on helping you. BEWARE ! They DO NOT back their product. I have started using Orbitz. Priceline has NO heart.. I booked a room but had to cancel. You can't cancel unless you fill out this long form and you Have to get a doctor to sign it saying your sick. My hotel stay was just overnight. I will Never go though priceline again, you really don't save that much and it's easier to book directly with the hotel..

My daughter, getting married Saturday, 9/25/09, saved her $ to purchase a plane ticket so that her best friend could attend the wedding. Due to road construction and VERY heavy traffic, he missed his flight - Priceline WOULD NOT help find other flights or put the $ paid toward another flight. WHAT happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE? PLUS you could not speak to a person about it - you get a computer run-around. Because of all this, he will miss the wedding. THANKS for NOTHING!!!! Anonymous 9/23/09 2:22PM

PRICELINE SUCKS!!!!!!!!
We were to leave out of Knoxville and fly to Orlando on 9-21-09 at 12:50 pm. We took our daughter to the hospital and they said that this was a medical emergency and if we would have left in the plane we would have to make an emergency landing while in flight. She had an acute asthma attack and walking pneumonia. I tried to call priceline starting around 8:00 and sending emails and I finally got ahold of a live person around 12:30.They told me I could cancel but it would cost me another 300 to 450 dollars to hold these tickets for a later date but I had to tell them right then. I asked for a supervisor and some JERK named nash said we dont have that option. I sent an email to the corporate help desk and that IDIOT kept giving me the run around. Priceline has no care for nothing but taking your money. If it would not have been a medical emergency then I could see not getting the money back. We need someone to start a class action lawsuit and see if we could get some people there money back. I wont reccomend priceline to anyone. This is an unprofecional company who just wants your money.
Just remember priceline, WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND.

I spoke with three people; all pleasant; only one was hard to understand. These people are not given enough information for customer satisfaction; they read from a "pat answers" form. If I'd been given the correct information from the beginning, it would have saved an hour of my time and energy. Basically, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I will not book through Priceline EVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN! jojogregory@hotmail,com 9/17/09 10:43AM

I would never recommend priceline to anyone. They have charged my credit card 99.05 for no reason & everytime I try to call all I get is an automated system that keeps looping me around. I have been fighting for 2months to get this charge off my credit card. Not to mention the overlimit charges that keep piling up everytime they take the charge off & put it back on. Worst service I have ever experienced!!
I advise every person who reads this to never book with Priceline. We were told by one representative when we booked a hotel that we could get a refund once we rebooked at a more expensive price. We did this and have been charged for both.
Our first customer service agent said to call back when we rebooked, we did that and the second rep. (Joey ID 5260085n) was very rude and confrontational. I find it very unfortunate that the training provided to staff is so inconsistent and the customer must pay for poor management. As a business I would say that this is not very good for investor relations. I will ensure none of my future trips or my colleagues and staff are every booked with this company again. I will also ensure every possible travel site knows about this unfortunate experience.

I work for a 4 Star hotel downtown Chicago, IL. I work in the accounting department and mainly deal with the hotel's A/R and guest's questions about charges etc... I called Priceline today in regards to a billing issue and needed them to provide me with an alternate method of payment to close out a guest's account. While waiting on hold for about 10 minutes I finally got someone on the line. Then while on the phone with them for about 10 more minutes because they could not find the guest's reservation that I was referring to, they told me that they could not help and that I would have to be transferred to the "Accounting" department. I was then transferred from their accounting department to the hotel help desk where I was put on hold again for about 20 min I was answered by an automated voice telling me to leave a message... From one accounting customer service agent to another, you are horrible Priceline!!!! Neither my or any other hotel downtown has the audacity to completely ignore a customer like that by sending them to a voicemail after being transferred through 3 people before being put on hold for 20 minutes. Poor reflection on their customer service standards, and what type of people they hire to work in that department. B@ODTN 9/14/09 10:28AM

I booked a flight for my family of 3 and was disappointed to see that the flight confirmed on the order screen was not the same as my payment receipt. To keep this story short, it cost me over $210 in rebooking fees to get my husband and two children on the same flight because the website messed up.

We will never use Priceline again. We booked a hotel through them. It said our price would be half price so we put in $140 as a bid thinking we could get a hotel that usually went for at least $250 or more. We also requested "Coastal San Diego." We ended up getting the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla, which is not even near the ocean and with the cost as $140 plus a huge parking fee (not mentioned in Priceline) and taxes. Upon going to the Hyatt's web site we found we could have booked any room we wanted at the hotel for $140(the same price). Also, we could have picked the bed configuration and non-smoking from the hotel's wedsite. We contacted Priceline through e-mail and they told us "tough luck" in so many words. Don't use Priceline! I will never book through Priceline. I booked a flight, and was not happy with it, there was water leaking from the A/C vent over my head, the airline changed the gate for my connecting flight and DID NOT post it, which I had to run to the other end of the airport, and almost missed my connection, and the seating I selected and paid for was not given to me and I was put in the back of the plane on both flights. When I contacted Priceline, they informed me that I had to contact the airline directly and fight my own battle with these problems. Apparently after they get your money they could care less about you! kwilliams9886 9/1/09 6:04AM

I made reservation for three nights not realizing I only needed two nights. I tried to cancel one night and was denied, and was told I had to cancel my hole reservation. Now you all can make $ 25.00 instead making a hundred plus dollars for two nights. dellareed 8/25/09 10:55PM

I WILL NEVER USE PRICELINE AGAIN.
In July, I transferred a plane ticket to a different date. I put the charges of $210 on my fiances MC. Priceline told me that the transaction was fine, and everything was taken care of.
A week later, I saw that instead of charging the card I gave them, they illegally went into my bank account (that I had originally booked with) and charged my VISA, overdrafting my account.
When I called to complain, I had to explain my situation to 5 different people before I was able to talk to a customer care rep. They assured me that they would refund the money to my secondary checking account (because I had to suspend my VISA due to the illegal activity)
A week after this, I find out that my secondary bank account is now negative...instead of refunding the $210 to the secondary bank account, they WITHDREW $210 and transferred it to my VISA!!! They DID NOT refund ANY of my money, instead moved my own money to a different account.
When I called in a rage, I once again had to explain my case to 3 different people before being allowed to speak with a customer care rep.
At NO POINT was I able to speak with anyone that could do ANYTHING to righten the situation. They refused to let me speak with a manager, and assured me that it would be taken care of in the next 3-4 business days.
My bank account is STILL negative, and I have yet to hear back from ANYONE.
I am now in the process of hiring a lawyer to sue the company for illegally taking money from my bank account on 2 separate occasions...
DO NOT USE PRICELINE!!!
They are nothing but thieves and if you do have any kind of problem, you will have one hell of a time attempting to speak with anyone that can actually help you.
Instead, you will be bounced from one non-english speaking rep to another.
These people do not know how to handle any situation that is not mapped out on the computer in front of them....half of the time they are on the phone with you they will tell you that they apologize for the problem, while not actually understanding WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!!
I have never been so frustrated and disgusted with one company, and refuse to understand how they stay in business while employing people who do not even work or live in this COUNTRY!!!
The language barrier is atrocious!!!
Not only do they speak poor English, and have trouble understanding things no matter how many times you explain them, there is absolutely NO REAL compassion for whatever wrongs the company has done.
My advice to ANYONE looking to book a plane ticket is to do so with another company.nmggrant 8/24/09 11:09AM

PRICELINE USERS BEWARE!!! I wish I would have looked at this site and the MANY other sites of complaints before using Priceline. TERRIBLE experience, NO customer service, NO compassion!! We decided on a trip to Maui, my 2 daughters and myself. My daughter, being 19 and stubborn, insisted she could book her own flight as she was paying for herself and using her own debit card. My younger daughter and I had previously booked our reservations and the 3 of us planned on a nice family vacation. I went to print out her itinerary, which had been sent to HER e-mail address by the way, only to find out it was not her name on the itinerary. It is HER e-mail address, HER contact phone number, HER address, and HER credit card information. I tried to call Priceline to find out what was going on only to learn neither of the customer service numbers (1-800-340-0575 - 1800-774-2354) would lead me to an actual representative. After searching the web I located the 877 number and finally got a live representative. I am truly disappointed that after spending all day on the phone, speaking with multiple representative and managers, this matter will not be resolved. I was told she must have booked the flight for this other person!!?? Now my daughter is wonderful but I am sure she did not work her tail off the last five months to pay for someone else to go to Maui in her place!! Are they truly that stupid to think that or just looking for more excuses, they must have a book of them. Then I was told there was nothing they could do except postpone her flight a year??? It does not matter how long we postpone a flight my daughter WILL NOT miraculously become this other person. Our flight is now scheduled to leave in 2 days!! No option to refund, no option to change name on reservation to the correct name (not even for a fee, believe me I offered), NO OPTIONS PERIOD!! And by the way she did not make a lower bid on the ticket, she paid the full offered price!! I am still frantically fighting for my daughter but at this point it looks like she is out the money she worked hard for so she could join us and since for some reason it is not her name on the reservation SHE MADE and SHE paid for, it looks like she will not be joining us on our FAMILY vacation unless we can come up with the now almost $600 for the flight to purchase another ticket. Hard lesson for a hard working, GREAT teenager and daughter to learn. I am truly DISGUSTED with Priceline and will never recommend nor use their services again.

I do not recommend priceline at all. I have had now 2 horrible experiences. The customer service was not helpful and the mistake was not mine to begin with. I booked a hotel room with priceline. The reservations were confirmed. I traveled all the way to the hotel where priceline booked me for to find out that my reservation had been cancelled. I was told that the hotel was overbooked. I contacted priceline and they told me that they would find me another hotel room. The rep never got back in contact with me. After a hour or so i called and the rep told me that he'll give a call back in another 30min which he didnt. The best thing that he could offer me was my money back. So, yes i was stuck with no room. No type of care or incentives after traveling to find out i wasnt goiing to have a room for the night. My refund was suppose to come within 10 days and here it is 2 1/2 weeks later.I've contacted priceline several times and still no feedback on my refund. Bottom line this was the worst customer care service i've ever experienced. After this even i will never book on priceline ever again. Kobie24 8/19/09 9:38AM

I booked a trip with priceline, then about 15 hours later I found I absolutely needed to cancel the tickets. After calling the website's listed 800 number several times with no success, I resorted to emailing them. By this time, I had only 6 hours left before the 24 hour period during which a person can cancel expired. I even mentioned this time crunch in the email and waited for a reply.
Conveniently, literally MINUTES after the 24 period expired, they emailed me back saying I was out of luck.
I have since called many times both polite and irate and had no success. They flat refuse to transfer you to a supervisor no matter how unsatisfied you are with their poor quality customer service.
Do yourselves a favor and do not book tickets with priceline. It's a sham of a website and "business."glennrocks 8/14/09 4:22PM

My story has been ongoing for months and is still haunting me. I created a priceline profile several months ago and I submitted my credit card to my profile. A couple of months ago, my wife booked a flight for me using my mother's credit card. Before my flight date, I received a statement from my card company with a huge debit that I wasn't aware of what it was. I immediately called my card company and issued a fraud alert. I thought some dishonest waitress or bartender purchased tickets with my card. Then it dawned on me, the huge credit on my statement was MY tickets! Though my wife had inputted my mother's card number, simply by submitting my name, priceline's website automatically pulled my credit card from my profile, instead of accepting my mother's card number which had been inputted on the web form! I know what you are thinking and no, she didn't book it from our home computer but from her work station. There is absolutely NO way my profile should have been accessed through a foreign computer simply be typing in my name! Now I have to resolve the situation with my card company who is just as inept as priceline. They have stated that the situation has been resolved three times! I have spent hours trying to explain the situation. And all because priceline pulled my card info. based on my wife inputting my name onto a flight request. How does this happen? I can see it happening IF the flight had been booked from the same computer as the one I used to create the priceline profile, and I simply didn't logout the last time I was on the site. But it was booked from a different computer in a completely different city! My wife didn't even know I had a priceline profile for God's sakes! Of course priceline is impossible to reach. They have contacted my card company stating that they are not at fault, that the whole mess was created by me and that I was trying to get away with a free flight. I have a copy of the letter they sent my card Company.
Beware! Make damned sure that you do not hit submit until you proofread everything on the forms. Now, here is the bad part. I have paid my credit card the amount priceline billed them and I am continuing to receive statements that I STILL owe the amount. And of course, there are overdraft fees of nearly $50 per month, because priceline took me over my limit! That is why my wife used my mother's card in the first damned place! So because of faulty web programming or just plain disingenuous practices, I am being forced to pay this bill a second time with two overdrafts! And I can't get VISA to fix anything because all of their operators are in the Middle East and I can't get them to understand anything that has happened. Thank you priceline. I've used you many times in the past but the next time you hear from me will be through BBB. You have cost me a heck of a lot of money with this fiasco.krisandwill 8/13/09 10:57PM

Hi this is Derick Taylor...I booked ticket with priceline and trying to change my flight reservation.I understand that there's an airline change fee of 150usd and the airline will collect fare difference cos I knew what is the rules of the airline and I worked also as customer service agent of ORBITZ International department before and i handled supervisors call.I called the delta first but they refused to change my outbound flight cos i booked my ticket to a travel agency. The agent from delta is very professional and courteous. She said since same class of service is avail they only charge me 150usd.I called priceline to change my flight and I spoke with an agent from the philippines.she's very rude...and she even qouted me a very high fare even the same class of service is still available.I knew the rules of my ticket and delta retains the fare if same class is still avail.I just want to change the date of my outbound, not the destination.. I will never book a ticket with u.....im so sory for that.. DERICK 8/13/09 8:14PM

This was my 1st and LAST time booking with PRICELINE. I had booked a car since I was going on vacation to another country. I was gviing the price of 232.30 for the car rental and 154.00 for the bodily incurance. Per PRICELINE they had to take the 154 same day so i paid with my card. Upon arriving to my destination they were trying to charge me another 154.00 for bodily insurance, when i tried to explain i had paid the amount already car company stated it wasnt in their records. I decided to not book the car for i felt was a ripoff. I called PRICELINE trying to get my 154.00 dollars back and they refused per company policy where you had to cancel the day before. I told them if i would of known they would try to rip me off i would of been cancel and I felt I shouldnt have to pay for bodily insurance because the car wasnt under my possesion. The customer setvice really sucks and they said i would be receiving an email with an answer within 7 days because they had to investigate. Its been a week and half and no email not only that but everytime i call they give me a different excuse wich plainly is to get me off their a**. Unfortunately I have to join the complaints about Priceline. I have reserved several airline tickets, hotels and cars through Hotwire, Expedia, others, and two with Priceline. I have never had a problem with any of them until Priceline:I needed to change the date on two tickets, they charged me $150.00 more on top of the paid tickets and promised to give me back the difference in price between them. We almost lose our plane and had to wait a long time because Priceline took the money but did not tell the airline. Worse, it has been now over 2 weeks and they have not refunded the promised money. I have been trying to call them, no way to get a person. I think I just will let my credit card handle them!

I have been a priceline customer for over 15 years and have reserved over 50 motels and several airplane flights. The vast majority of my priceline experiences have been positive and I have recommended priceline to many people. I just made a reservation and put in the wrong date. I immediately called priceline and was informed that it would cost me $25 to cancel the reservation. I had no choice but to cancel. I was then told that I would receive an email explaining their policy. An email did arrive telling me that I would be refunded 0 dollars. No further explanation was in the email. I then called again and was told that I would get my money back less $25 if I made another reservation with priceline using the correct date. I have decided to eat the entire amount of the room charge. This certainly dims my enthusiasm for working with priceline again. They have lost a loyal customer. The bottom line, be careful what you type into the computer. vman 7/31/09 1:54PM

after being transferred three times i am now a hotwire customer for good. i called customer service to ask how to access the deal especially for me on my page after sign in, and was told to modify my requests by the last not so friendly associate several times. when i questioned a submitted bid for more than the offer being rejected and no access to the offer presented, which was less than what my initial offer was, again i was told to modify my search. i understand that offers like this are available- or they would not appear on the website, right?- but perhaps making these offers accessible would be in the better interest of good customer service.maybe my math is incorrect, but a 40% possible savings on a $33.00 car is not $29.00, the last three times i have tried to name my own price for a car. when i questioned this, again- i was told to modify my search. if customer service was better, i might not have modified to hotwire. To Whom It May Conern,
For lack of a better way of putting this, Priceline sucks when it comes to your service to name your own price for a hotel room. The customer does not have the option with your service to sellect smoking or non-smoking when naming there own price. Like in my case, were I have a 20 week old baby that is allergic to cigarret smoke. If I were to use your service, and they were to except my offer, I would have no way of knowing if the room I was getting was a smoking or non-smoking room. I can not believe that Priceline has not had this probem many times before with their costomers in the past, and are unwilling to correct this problem. Because of this very important problem, I will not be able to use Priceline's service to book a hotel room. Which means, Prineline is loosing money it could have made if they would have included a select option for smoking or non-smoking when naming your own price for a hotel room.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael J. DamianoAnonymous 7/27/09 10:29AM

OK folks. Telephone # for Corporate
(203) 299-8000. Norwalk, CT. I have names of Execs. also. So if anyone needs them, I would be happy to post. It is really interesting that so many of you have the same issues as I have. I have no resolution yet either. The customer service is either Phillipines, Mexico or maybe if you are lucky. US. How wonderful this company is to send these jobs out of country with so many people out of work.
My hotel is 95 miles from the destination for my vacation. They told me then to just rent a car. Unfortunately they don't understand these are 95 miles apart.pricelinesavvy 7/23/09 3:03PM

They tried charging my account 5 times after I removed my billing information. Pretty nifty. Tried to get ahold of them using the number here and it's just automated. Same with all numbers I can find for them. Stay away from them if you don't want 4 - 5 charges on your account. editor of a big magazine 7/23/09 8:18AM

Priceline has terrible customer service and terrible policies. My husband and I were trying to rent an SUV and my husband accidently selected economy car and did not realize it until he put the reservation through. Pricelines customer service was no help at all. They would not let us change our reservation at all. There policies leave no room for human error. We are now stuck with an economy car for $50/day which is crazy. We will never use priceline again.

I have charges that was taking out of my account for a hotel that was cancelled by email to priceline because it was too far from the destination that I had requested. Talked to about 9 Customer Care Consultants that was no help at all. I wanted this money that was for a cancelled hotel stay to be put back into my account. This list of complaints will be forward to Consumers Affairs. Anonymous 7/20/09 2:13PM

I have been trying all morning to get in touch with a customer representative whom I talked to last week in regards to getting a charge taken off of my account. Im so over Priceline. Your competition works hard to secure and retain customers. Seems like your goal Priceline is to take the money and run- never mind future business opportunities.
Does Priceline monitor the quality of hotels they offer? I doubt it. I booked a 4 star hotel that was far from my expectations. It should have been rated a ONE. Either the hotel misrepresented themselves to Priceline, or Priceline misrepresented the hotel to me. There is such a gamble booking with Priceline not knowing what your getting until after you commit. Forget taking the risk. DON'T DO IT!! If you have a problem there is no resolution only a run-around. Try some of the other companies that offer the same service. You'll find that they are willing to satisfy your concerns if something happens. Policies sometimes need to be adjusted when situations warrant. Pricline draws the line in the sand, and won't waver no matter what. Priceline, when you hold customers hostage, they learn a valuable lesson. I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from your service. You're unreal!! Never again.Ibeencheated 7/17/09 3:25PM

Priceline does not back their package deals. Customer Reps lie on the phone. Had to pay for transportation even though it was advertised as "free". Length of stay tickets translates into "2 day passes"..etc. Will not refund after 20 attempts to get someone on the phone they say sorry, no manager available and better luck next time. Won't be a next time. Good thing there are other companies out there. Never dealing with them again. Cost me extra $ 300.00 to get what was originally supposed to be included. I bid for a hotel room for me, my wife and my child. The room I got only had a queen bed for the adults. The hotel would not add a cot, and priceline said they could do nothing about it because they only garuntee a room for two adults. When I repeatedly told the customer rep. that my child will not sleep on the floor, he said that maybe I should let her sleep on the bed and I sleep on the floor. He would also not transfer me to anyone else. I will never use them again. Anonymous 7/17/09 5:54AM

I've been using Expedia for years until I got this dumb idea of trying Priceline just once. They sent me an email concerning my flight was changed, which is normal to happen, once I call them they: " oh nevermind, there was no change at all" . I was... ok.
Then I needed to reschedule the trip for personal reasons so I called their hotline. The probably got the dumbest answering machine I have ever dealt with ! Neither my itinerary number nor phone number check so instead to send me to a live representative I'm trapped in this eternal loop hole of " oops, I'm sorry I didn't understand that " or " your number doesn't match our records "
I will never use priceline ever again and stick to Expedia who has never disappointed me.Tyler Durden 7/14/09 9:49PM

I tried Priceline on-line, but was frustrated when the web-site wouldn't let me return with the same air-line used for the trip out. I e-mailed customer service asking how to overcome this. They promiced a reply within 3 hours; four days later still no reply. I will now just go directly to the airline, even if it costs more.

IT IS A SCAM I ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO USE THEM AND TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WILL BE DOING.

Please do not use this company, mistake cost my family $3000 to get home!! My family booked a car rental and plane ticket package. The plane tickets were booked to return 2 days earlier than the rental car return. When the car was returned and the tickets were no good, my family was told "too bad" by Priceline and it cost $3000 to buy tickets one way to get home and our family member was traveling with two young children.
$3000.00 is a lot of money for anyone.
Save yourself the trouble and the money. Don't use this company!!!

I booked a trip last year and somehow the itinerary sent me to the wrong airport. Woops, nothing we can do says priceline. But, if you cancel the reservation we keep $100 until you book with us again. Then, we'll give you $70 back because we're going to charge you a $30 cancellation fee. Long story short, they messed up and I had to make a bunch of phone calls to keep them from screwing me out of more than $30. I won't be using the service again. Anonymous 7/7/09 10:00AM

Well, all the things listed are very true. I had made hotel reservations the first part of June for a 1 night stay the latter part of June. Rec'd my Visa bill today and there is an additional $10.96 charge on my bill over what the hotel quoted me as their senior rate. Just got off the phone and was told that Priceline cannot refund me the money. Something about the hotel having different rates for walk in customers. Hogwash. I also will never use them again for anything. Anonymous 6/30/09 12:36PM

By far the absolute worst customer service ever. I tried to order a ticket and it wouldn't let me because the flight was booked. (Why list it if it's booked?) I canceled the order, only to find the next day that they had charged me for a flight, plus 3 times for insurance for sending my request so many times trying to find a flight. After about an hour trying to reach a live representative, I finally talked to someone who told me verbatim what the automated response told me. After asking to speak to a supervisor, they told me that no transactions had occurred and that I needed to talk to my bank to sort out any money issues that had been debited from my account. They told me that Priceline had put a hold on all of my money, totaling over $400, and that there was nothing they could do until they lifted the hold. My flight leaves tomorrow, I have no ticket, and now I'm out $400 until they decide to lift the hold and tell me that I never actually spent money there in the first place. Never again. ih8pricelin 6/30/09 9:48AM

I have had repeated charges of $11.99/MONTH FOR TWO MONTHS W/O RESOLUTION from a Great Fun Co. I have made several calls into Great Fun they state to me they charge via use of the Priceline reservations website. I have been promised a refund and cancelation of charges which keep coming each and every month. I called Nancy(of Priceline)for help? Nancy, was nice however of no help! I also think she was overseas as it sounded like a Middle East Cockfight in the background.

Looking at another's airlines' website I found tickets 80 dollars cheaper and then they offered a military discount unlike priceline making it even cheaper.
Calling priceline to see if they would lower the tickect with out the military discount I was told yes they would and then no. Also that these are discounted tickets so they refuse to offer a military discount. Really I found it online at the website cheaper and you won't make up the difference? What is the point of priceline when there are a lot cheaper tickets out there.

I too had nothing but problems with Priceline. First was that I had purchased 4 tickets at 440.00 ea then I wanted to purchase one more minutes later and the price dropped 45.00. I tried to book the ticket for a 17yr old and they wouldn't let me do it because they said he was under age and would have to fly with an adult. I just purchase 4 adult tickets and they couldn't add him to my itinerary..It was BS that Priceline doesn't have a phone number that you can talk to a human not a recording. PRICELINE IS KNOWN TO CAUSE SEVERE HEALTH ISSUES TREAD WITH GREAT CAUTION."Priceline employees have the WORST customer service", I have used many travel agencies and have never had an issue. Priceline may answer the phone after some time. When you are finally connected with an agent or customer service associate, don't expect any help. Nobody can answer questions and if they do good luck understanding what they are talking about. Priceline associates like to mumble because the only answer they have is one that will cancel your ticket and ensure you pay top dollar for your next one when in fact had you just gone direct through the airline none of this would ever have happened, you would have your ticket for sure and most likely at a better price. After reading some of these post I see they are very recent and this is very scary. To think a company just does not care how they treat their clients, this is only a few of the unhappy customers I am sure not everyone takes the time to do this I have many better things to do like... pack for my trip tommorow eve. go to work in the morning and so on but I will not let this company continue to rip people off and ruin their vacations if at all possible. Good luck to all and PLEASE FOR YOUR HEART HEALTH STAY AWAY FROM PRICELINE! Anonymous 5/25/09 10:19PM

What a joke for customer service, was on the phone trying to figure out a $529.05 charge on my American express for 3 hours. This is the Hotel I was booked to say in for three nights by Priceline! I later found out this Hotel is known for drugs and wild partys, not a place for family or someone unfamiliar with the area. I was stranded and at the mercy of a relative, because the other Hotels were booked.

Detectives face accidental gun shot during drug bust
By Kyle Nagel | Friday, May 1, 2009, 10:23 PM
BUTLER TWP., Montgomery County — A discarded handgun discharged without injury during a bust by Dayton police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Friday, May 1, that led to six arrests.
The suspects thought they were going to trade cash, crack and heroin for automatic weapons at the Knights Inn, 3663 Maxton Dr., said Dayton Lt. Matt Carper. Instead, they met undercover officers and agents at about 9 p.m.
One suspect attempting to flee threw his handgun, which fired one shot when it hit the parking lot pavement, Carper said. No one was injured, and law enforcement officials did not return fire, he said.
Carper did not yet know how much cash and drugs were seized but said the six suspects would likely face federal charges.

I travel to New York every month and take the same airline and stay in the same hotel every month. Tonight I booked on line selecting my direct flight and hotel, confirmed and entered the credit card information. Everything appears fine until the system asked me to add a car- I clicked on one, changed the times and clicked ahead. THE RESULTING ITINERARY CHANGED THE FLIGHTS ENTIRELY. WHEN I CALLED TO HAVE CUSTOMER CARE MAKE THE CORRECTION- THEY CHARGED ME A CANCELLATION FEE EVEN THOUGH I HAD THEM REBOOK WITH THE CORRECT ORGINAL FLIGHTS. I am very disappointed. I had to cancel my ticket reservation several months ago. I was told that they would be unable to refund my credit card but that I could put the purchase amount toward a ticket of equal price or use as mileage. A family member is ill and so I called (which finding the customer service number was difficult and very time consuming) believing that I would be able to put this non- used ticket amount toward the purchase of another ticket. First agent I spoke with mocked me with kind responses. Then when I asked to speak with the manager the insults continued. She said to me that I had not contacted them and they had no record of speaking with me (believe me I would not forget the number of calls and persons I needed to speak with during my original cancellation). She implied that I was a liar; she raised her voice and had the gal to end the phone conversation with HAVE A NICE DAY! The customer is always right! Priceline should be ashamed of them selves; some resolution should have been made. I will share my negative experience with anyone who asks. I will no longer suggest to my friends Priceline.

for all the travelers out there! do not use priceline. i had book 2 different hotlels through this company and according to their web site the bayfront hotel in corpus christie was a great hotel to stay at. when we checked in, according to the manager, priceline booked us for 2 rooms instead of one. the manager to this hotel stated that he could not credit our account because priceline was in charge of that. when we finally got to our room, it smelled terrible. when i called priceline that same night, they gave me a cancelation number which i was under the understanding that they were gonna credit my account and when i got my credit card statement they didnt! the secont complaint about priceline came when i went to a different city, (same vacation) checked into the days inn i brownsville texas and the service was ridiculous. the rooms smelled damp and nasty, they moved us to another room and when we walked through the door someone else luggage was in the room, then when it came to the third room that they moved us to, when we opened the door it smelled like a cat urinated on the carpet! when we brought it to the manager she stated that she couldnt credit our account that priceline had to do it. again i had called priceline and spoke to one of there rep. and the employee gave me a cancellation number. again priceline gave us the impression that they were going to credit our account. i opened my credit card statement no one credit my account. when i called priceline to complain they said that it wasn't up to them to credit our account that it was up to the hotels to do it. i went to 2 different hotels, in 2 different cities and they both stated that it was up to priceline to make that decision. i have spent 5 hours complaining about this, and i keep getting the run around. priceline cant give me a direct phone number to the customer relations dept. or the main number to their corporation office! why is that. they need to retrain their employees and have them speak and understand the language, so that way they can stop wasting people time! never ever book through priceline because their not about customer service their about making the buck and screwing you at the same time. how can their employees not have the phone number to their corporate office, how can they not give you the name or names to their supervisors on who is going to handle the complaints. Priceline is TERRIBLE!!!!!
You cannot..and I repeat...cannot speak with a person when you call their "customer support" line. IF anyone knows a number where you can speak to an actual person please post it because these people are definitely hiding it.pricelinesucks 8/15/08 1:59PM

We neglected to call to say we would not make it in for the first night of a week hotel stay. I expected we would loose any credit for that night. What I did not expect was to loose the whole week and be charged for it! No credit No rooom. No customer service! Spent 2 hrs holding and talking with 4 priceline representatives.
In my opinion, priceline does not practice ethical business. They even charge tax! TAX ON WHAT? Tax on nothing? I wonder if they report that and pay it to the government or just fatten their bank account! Seems illegal to me.Anonymous 8/8/08 4:49PM

Yes their buisness practices seem fraudulant. You connot contact them after they book your reservations to make changes or fix a mistake they have created. They only care up to the point when they have collected payment from everyone. After I googled priceline I found that most feedback about their customer service was that they simply do not have any customer service available to anyone. It seems as though they have no way to contact anyone within the company for a reason. I think everyone who has been dealt with unjust, and screwed out of their money ought to sue priceline for the way they are operating their company. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Thanks, Kimber Kimber 7/28/08 2:08PM

Unfair business practice. In the agreement it says that the flight would be between 6am-10pm, but they bought a ticket with departure time of 5am. I tried to reach them, but to no avail; you can only talk to an answer machine. Is there any way we hold them accountable? dav 7/21/08 3:56PM

I spoke with Carlos with priceline customer care center. I had booked our flight out of Tulsa rather than xna, and he helped me with getting the right departure city along with getting my money to go towards our new tickets rather than be out $600. Thanks so much Carlos! your the best! cali 8/29/10 9:33PM

I had purchased a ticket to Puerto Rico on 7/10. I have since discovered I cannot make the trip (thank goodness for flight insurance). I called Priceline at 877-850-9658 and Carlos, from customer care, immediately picked up. He was knowledgeable and explained all my options. He was able to connect me directly with the insurance carrier and the claim form was promised me within 5 days. Total time on the phone? 15 minutes. That is excellent customer service from my standpoint. Prior to this issue, I've used Priceline many times and only once had an issue that was not to my satisfaction.

I just got off the phone with a CSR who was very nice and polite. She checked all of my information, then said there was no problem with my request to cancel a hotel reservation because I had booked one that was listed as fully refundable. Then she asked if she could help me with another reservation. I said no and thanked her for her help. "You're welcome. Have a good day." Everything you could want in customer service. I actually had a great experience with Priceline today. Last night I had purchased 2 one way tickets for my parents. However, this morning my parents called and said they would not be able to make this trip, so I called Priceline and explained the situation and asked if my money could be refunded without any penalty charges since I was calling within the 24 hour time period. I spoke with Mike and he put me on hold for 2 minutes then came back saying I was eligible for a FULL refund without any penalty charges. And that my refund will post to my credit card within 5-10 business days. I asked for a cancellation number just in case and for future reference and he was more than happy to provide that for me. So I got my money back 100%, I am one HAPPY customer. DanaFox3 5/26/10 10:05AM

I have read the many "bad" experiences people have had with Priceline. Please realize that most people who have good experiences don't take the time to type out a comment in forums like these. I just have to say that I had a great experience with Priceline today. I have used them before in the past and never had a problem. Yesterday I reserved a room at a hotel in NC and inadvertently chose a smoking room instead of non-smoking. I thought I could just cancel the reservation, make a new one, and be done. However, the initial reservation tied up my credit card funds making it impossible to make the new reservation. I was told it would take 5-10 days for the credit to appear on my card, and I needed to be in NC in 6 days. After calling my credit card company, they told me if I could get someone from Priceline on the phone in a 3-way conversation, they could remove the charge and free up the funds. I called Priceline at (203) 299-8000 and was routed to Oliver in Executive Services. Oliver was very patient and understanding. He stayed on hold for a very long time while I got my credit card company on the line for the 3-way conversation. In all, Oliver was probably on the phone helping me out for about 20 minutes. I cannot thank Oliver enough...or Pedro from Orchard Bank...for helping me get MY mess straightened out. Remember, we all make mistakes... SunshineSmiles16 5/18/10 8:39AM

i believe that most ofthe customer that are here are wrong.i book with them all the time and have not problem,if you read all the contract pages all that info is display that the reservations would not be cancell, and also with the flights we make the res trought them but they are not the airline,so we have to work with the airline because they are just athird party and they cna jot handle all the problems..this is my experience,by the way i got a flight to europe for $100.00 it is awsone!!!!! joe 5/5/10 4:24PM

People, people. Priceline is the leader of this business. As you may see through this website. There are 200+ comments weather good or bad as if you were to look at other major trave agencies (expdia, orbitz, Travelocity)they only share a merely 50-60 comments. --This tells you somethinig right?-
I just booked a hotel room for 3 nights in MD. I paid $55.00 dollars and received the Hyatt which sells for 170.00 dollars a night. No need to stop there. My previous reservation prior to this one cost me 70.00 dollars and received the Casa Magna Marriot in Puerto Vallarte. Tha room was selling for 150.00 dollars. The best savings ever and the hotels were great!!!
Sorry people PRICELINE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!

I just had a very pleasant experience with Priceline customer service. Well, as pleasant as such an experience could be, I suppose. It may just be luck of the draw. benlthom 4/22/10 11:48AM

I had good experience w/ Priceline. It's my fault I didn't check my calendar before trying $70 for 4 Stars downtown Baltimore, thinking I wasn't gonna get it. I got Hilton. Turned out my daughter was going to a Sweet 16 party that night so we couldn't make the trip. However I could use the night after her volleyball tourney. I called Priceline and was able to get the same hotel the night I wanted. Only paid extra $25 for exchange. Anonymous 4/2/10 9:53AM

To continue with reservation cancellations, I called the two hotels I had booked on Priceline and received permission from the front desk manager to cancel. I then called Priceline Customer Service and was transferred to Customer Relations, gave them the name of the Front Desk Manager, and they reimbursed me for the whole amount.
Hint: I find that it is best to talk with people in Customer Service with courtesy for the job they are perfoming, and in return I usually receive positive outcomes. Keep in mind when you are talking with people that they are doing their job and don't deserve to be treated as minions.Santa Fe Pat 3/31/10 9:48AM

I had very good service. I had booked "name your own price" tickets that were non-refundable, non-exchangable. However, my son who was travelling with me because of my disability became ill and was not able to travel. I was told that there was a $100 cancellation fee which would be refunded less $30 if I rebooked a flight in the next year. They just required permission to contact his physician and I had to sign a realease form at the doctor's office. I will await the outcome, but feel they were reasonable and fair. The CSR I just spoke to was very helpful. She answered all of my questions in about 2 min. And I was on hold waiting for less than 1 min. Anonymous 3/16/10 4:37PM

This went about as good as I had hoped. Due to my stupidity, I left my license in my car when I flew out and thus couldn't rent the car I had booked at my destination.
To back up a bit: the license was a paper temp. while I waited for my new one in the mail, so I don't carry those on me to avoid destruction, losing it, etc. And yes I was able to fly OK without it due to other forms of ID. Gotta love TSA...lol.
Since the car rental place wouldn't rent to me without it, I called PL at the number here after finding it and was hoping to have the charge removed. Brian answered, was personable and handled everything just fine. Only thing was that I was charged for 1 day of rental, which I'll live with because I got the car for a VERY low price through PL as is...(gave a 9 there; technically should probably pay nothing, but again for the price I paid compared to what I would pay, I'll eat it..the wording used made me wonder a bit).
Should see the charge refunded within a few days...I'll buy into that it will as I have confirmations to check if it doesn't.
Other trips upcoming, so would use PL again.MattF 1/15/10 7:04PM

Excellent, personable customer service! Due to heavy snow in Washington DC on Dec. 18 we had to cancel the first 2 days of our 3-day Priceline reservation at a hotel in Williamsburg, VA and wanted to add one day on the back end. Although it took some time, Priceline's customer service (located in Guadalajara; they spoke perfect English) went the second mile by contacting the hotel, making the change, and crediting one day back to our credit card. We were very pleased and thankful. Rob W 1/8/10 8:39AM

Thank you so much for providing this number! I actually had no issue cancelling my flight because I was within the 24 hour period, but it's like they intentionally set you up for failure unless you can research. I was shocked that I couldn't get a live rep on the number listed in my confirmation email; most automated phone menus offer the opportunity to speak to a customer service rep as the last option. Once I called this number, though, I was connected immediately to a very professional rep who resolved my issue within two minutes. Shame they made it so difficult to reach someone who could actually help me... redblossom 11/11/09 10:24AM

I saw alot of bad reviews for their customer service here.. I'll admit that it is very hard to get through to them. The website insists you send an email to them and wait for a reply, which is BS. I called this number 1-800-896-7552 and got ahold of a nice lady that helped me with my problem. I had to have my name corrected on my ticket for a cruise, and she took care of it in just a minute. Maybe it wasn't such a big problem, but I thought the customer service was good once I actually got ahold of a live person. Jenny 10/31/09 2:03PM

I have used priceline many many times and have had no problems at all. Six months ago I booked a flight coming back from Ft. Lauderdale to Buffalo coming home from a week's cruise. I found out that the ship would not let me book a 10:00a.m. flight so I called priceline thinking that I had lost my money, but they were really helpful and I got a credit back on my visa the same day. There was no questions asked and I did not have to book another flight with them. We have booked cars with priceline which is usually thru Avis and have had nothing but good luck with our cars. Avis also was good to deal with even tho we paid thru priceline. Bonnie 9/24/09 4:08PM

I made reservations for a cruise with RCC through Priceline. I did not do the bid on the cruise, I just did purchased it at the going rate. Five hours later the price dropped and I tried for one and half days to get ahold of anyone at priceline that could help resolve the difference. Had it been the next day the price dropped I probably would not have called but five hours later. Finally I called the cruise line and explained that I could not reach anyone at Priceline period. Finally - i called the cruise line to find out that even though it booked through priceline it was through yet another travel agent. Bottom line is - none of this was clear and it was very aggrivating to resolve but once RCC got ahold of Priceline they did refund the difference and in the end make me happy. Would I use Priceline again probably so - they had the best deal of anywhere I checked and you can't have the best deal and perfect customer service. Somewhere it has to lag - printman4u 6/5/09 1:31PM

We were skeptical to try Priceline.com. After several bids, we secured a 4 star hotel in Vegas for half the regular weekend price. The room was better than could be imagine. Our second attempt was two weeks later. Again, the price was less than half, location exactly in our patameter and the hotel room was perfect. I feel bad that so many have poor experiences. I am going to submit another bid request and I look forward to getting another good deal. Red Rocker 12/26/08 3:07PM

I just figured out how to talk to someone. I figured if I pretended I was going to give them money, they would talk to me. So, if you act like you want to make a reservation somewhere (there are options that direct you), you will eventually get a human on the line. Once you get them, just explain that you couldn't get an actualy representative on the line, and you would like to speak with someone about a cancellation. You'll get transferred a few times, but as long as you stay on the line and have a friendly demeanor, they will definitely help you out. On a side note, once I did actually get someone on the line, they were extremely friendly and willing to help. Anonymous 9/18/08 1:52PM

i work for priceline as a customer care consultant. shout out to those who say that they were not satisfied with the service. first off, dont blame us becoz you dont know how to read contract pages before you purchase something online. be smart enough to read first so you'll know your ground when calling customer service.we are only guided by policies here. next time be smart enough to realize that. I work for their CCC department....everyone that complains on here are all absouloutly retarded. The reservations you make all have contract pages that state all of the information about cancelations and such...Its not hard to read the important information were it clearly states the retrictions on the reservation. ALso nothing happens unless you intial that page so dont intial until you read all of the information and you wont have a problem. All the people who are complaining on here are the people who cry because they dont get what "they" want to happen. Act your age and man up to the facts that it is acually your own dumbass faults for not just simply reading the important information. boydmoney 11/5/09 9:14PM
