We had just moved to the Huntsville, AL area and blindly opened accounts at Regions Bank. We had one bad experience after another. I went through the drive through and asked if it was better to deposit in the ATM or at the window since I was after the cutoff time for the day. 1)The teller said our ATM doesn't take deposits anymore. My Bank of America ATM allowed us to insert a check and it would scan it and make the deposit right away. If it was after the cutoff at the window it would still deposit right away in the ATM. Next I waited in the ALWAYS slow drive through line and wanted to withdraw money (more than the ATM would allow) I got up to the window and the teller said you can't withdraw at the window,"because they don't have withdraw slips there". When I went itside the teller said 2)they don't do withdraws at the drive through for security reasons. Then I forgot my login for my online banking, I tried the wrong one too many times and it locked my account. Tried to call the customer service line BUT 3) they only answer the phones from 8-5 Monday through Friday, the same exact time I am working way too hard to have time to call them. I finally get my account sign on and am presented with days of overdrafts for overdrafts. Can't wait to close my account with them. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM REGIONS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!!! neveragain 9/2/10 11:17AM

The Regions Bank, on Hwy. 58 in Chattanooga, Tn. is sooooo slow. They will have 7 or 8 cars backed up at the drive thru, and 1 person at the window, and all the other ladies just sitting there on the inside...It is like a social gathering..The lady at the window is nice, but stops to drink coffee!!!!!!!!!! Give me a break.. The bank has always been good to me, but I am finding more mistakes in my account, since moving to this area and using this branch. Very poor management at this branch, and very insufficent in covering the areas that need the most coverage...When I stop, I am in a hurry.... doesnotapply 8/25/10 2:54PM

What bank does not have 24/7 customer service?
Any of them today.
I ordered checks. 1 box.
I now have three boxes of checks all that say "Box 1 of 1".
How many of my checks are out there?
Four years ago I ordered 2 boxes of checks and only got one and had to pay to cancel the #s on the box I did not receive.Pi$$ed 6/18/10 10:49PM

My husband and I had relocated to another area that did not have a regions bank locally. The nearest Regions bank was 35 miles from our new home. We decided to close our account with Regions an open an account with a bank that was in the town that we lived. We had an overdrawn status on the account. So I went to the bank that was 35 miles away to pay the overdrawn amount and have the account closed. The customer service rep that helped me was super friendly and nice. She told me that once the deposit goes in that night that she would go in and close the account. Before leaving I asked her was there anything else I needed to do she said no and that everything was taken care of. So about a week and a half later I checked to see if my account was closed and it showed a negative balance. I was furious. So I called the bank and the lady said that a ACH came through and that they had to let it go through and charge my account. I had never heard of such. If an account is closed , the debit should be sent back as account closed. I will never do business with Regions bank again or recommend anyone to do business with them. Oyster 6/8/10 10:28AM

Regions Bank is an absolute JOKE! The customer service at a branch in Nashville on Murfreesboro Road is horrible. Granted, there are a couple of tellers and another rep that are delightful, but the rest are Rude. They don't like to work. When you walk up to the window, the tellers are too busy chatting with each other. They never smile, say hello, or thank you for your business. Too top it all off, the Branch Manager (Stephanie Brown) is rude, never understanding, and acts as if she can't help her customers.
I am in the process of finding a better bank. In the meantime, I stay away from the Nashboro Village Branch and bank elsewhere.Anonymous 4/11/10 10:50AM

Regions Bank should not be in business. Please explain to me how I could be charged $35 for NSF when I had $1.73 in the black in my account on 4/8/10. On 4/9/10 I had 2 pending transactions, one a deposit for $1118.08 and a debit of 7.49. They charged me the $35 on 4/8. If there was a positive amount, and the other 2 transactions were not posted, HOW CAN THEY CHARGE ME A NSF???? I went to the bank, and of course they had some explanation about swiping my card on 4/8, but when I look at my statement in black and white, it simply does not make any sense. I informed them that I was closing out my account as soon as another debit cleared. Don't bank with them. THEY STEAL FROM THE WORKING POOR. Disgusted 4/9/10 6:43PM

Regions bank has the deceptive practice of changing the due date of an online web page for line of credit. On February 28 2010 I logged onto the Regions website to review my accounts, checking and line of credit. On that day my line of credit stated my next due date was 3/31/10, this was incorrect since the actually due date for the current cycle was 3/3/10. I found a $29 late payment fee on my account in mid February, upon calling Regions I was told it was from not making my scheduled payment. When I informed them I logged onto my account on 2/28/10 and the account stated a due date of 3/31/10 they informed me that the online due date is changed to the next billing cycle before the current billing cycle has ended. When I told them that was deceptive they said I get a paper bill and that is all I need. I find this very offending since I do travel and do not always get a paper bill. I use the online access and payment methods of all my accounts and none of them, capital one, Wachovia, utilities, change a due date prior to the current bills cycle.
Regions Bank is being deceptive by changing the due date for online access prior to the current billing cycle. Anyone logging into their accounts a few days shy of their due dates would see the due date for the next cycle, not make an immediate payment, and get charged a late fee. The bank uses the excuse that the early changed date is fine because it takes 7-10 days to process a payment. The 7-10 days is for mailed in payments. If I do a bank transfer the day before the due date, or go into the bank and use cash the day of the due date, it still would be a valid on time payment. which I have done many times in the past.
I tried so many times to get in touch with the executives at the Birmingham office they now consider me unruly and have decided to close my accounts, this is fine by me since most of the Regions Execs are from Amsouth, and as an old Amsouth customer I closed that account due to similar abuses by Amsouth. I was called about 7 days ago and told I would be given back the $29 and it never appeared. As far a customer service goes Regions could not care less and even admitted to me they change the due date, which admits to me they abuse their customers. The upper executives have obviously approved this practice and want nothing to do with their customers and the customer service reps actually laughed at me for thinking I could actually get in touch with them about the problems.

I found out today that Regions Bank does not have confidence in their own records. My account shows I have funds to cover my wire transfer, however they refused to honor the transaction. So I wrote a check for the same ammount. Go figure. The explaination given only showed their lack of customer respect and their on incompetence. Also, because our documents were not prepared by them, they refused to notarize them. Anonymous 1/28/10 8:39PM

is very upset with Regions Bank....since when does it take more than 30 days for a transaction to go through? even though you use your pin number...I left .03 cents in the bank..cuz i want to close the account....and now im being over draft because they failed. of course its my fault according to them...now additional 3...5.00 being tack on..Regions bank sucks...they are frauds......They are the ones that failed....I was told that it depends on when the businessess that you purchase products or services send in their statements then my account gets withdrawn...ok..seriously.....I guess next time it will 6 months....and then omg..what a suprise..you owe a balance...Regions Bank works on qouta every month everyone..who banks with Regions...be on alert...it might take whenever..for a transaction to pass through....they have poor customer service....even though transactions are made electronically...it doesnt count...cuz Regions didnt get their statements first...what a crock....
ok serious..Regions Banking system...is set up for failure for customers....and a money making revenue system for Regions Bank...
I made a transaction back in Decemeber.....and its now near to end of January....Haaa!!!....I took it to the press....and made a post on evey popular blog and websites to boycott Regions Bank....they are going to loss more than $80 bucks they took from me......Najel77 1/23/10 4:19PM

Branch Manager Dan Smith is the rudest and most unproffesional manager I have ever spoken with or had dealing with. If you can go to any other branch with Regions, please do, but try to avoid this particular bank in Ooltewah, Tennessee. tennesseebanker 1/15/10 3:12PM

DO NOT BANK WITH REGIONS: I had an account for just me, without my husband. We went in to get something notorized and they refused to notarize my husband's signature unless he was on the account. So we added him to the account. It is a hassle because you have to close the account and open a new one to take someone off. So I didn't take him off and he got a garnishment. This is an ambush and they took 3 days to tell me about it. They also didn't tell me that they would take another $100.00 fee for the garnishment because "it was in the paperwork when you got your account". Please!!! They refused to cut me a break with any of the fees, overdraft and let me cash a check when they knew they were taking the extra $100.00 costing me another $35.00 overdraft fee.
Please run the other way and don't deal with these people. They don't have your interest at heart at all and read their vision and mission statement it is really hilarious.LAH 1/12/10 8:01AM

Very unsatisfactory experience. We have banked with Regions for 17 years. We have our mortgage with Regions and do most of our banking on-line. They do switch the order of your transactions around beginning Friday and going through Tuesday to work to their advantage...trying to charge OD fees. They will not post a deposit during that time and the bank associates are trained to act as if they do not know. Unhappy 9/29/09 6:20AM

Regions=LEGALIZED BURGLARS!
They steal your money, switch the order of the transactions and then pretend not to know of what you speak. Not only that, they are rude!pense 9/9/09 2:15PM

Do not bank with REGIONS BANK. They will STEAL your money.
I deliberately went to the bank and made a deposit on Saturday 8/10/09 to avoid overdraft fees. I went shopping after the deposit was made. I checked my account on Tuesday afternoon and was hit with overdraft fees to the tune of $175. First of all my deposit had not posted. The deposit posted Tuesday night. When I went to the bank to inquire about a refund of the overdraft fees. I was told the computer could not post my deposit on the weekend, but at the same time it could charge me overdraft fees on the weekend. I think we should file a class action suit. If someone puts together a class action suit please count me in.

I was at the branch on Loop 323 Tyler,Texas today to make a deposit. Although my account is a very small one, I opened it so I wouldn't be charged the five dollars to cash my payroll check. I understand policy, but the teller that waited on me was very rude when I complained that I minded being asked for my drivers license to make a deposit and get cash back. I didn't appreciate his comment and he handled it very badly. When he asked if I minded sending my drivers license his comment was something like "Well sorry I have to have it." jacf52@suddenlink.net 8/5/09 3:12PM

One thing EVERYONE should know is that Regions bankis still living in the stone age of technology when it comes to taking care of a stop payment you put on a check. They have a policy that your stop payment, that you pay $36 for is not guarenteed till 24 hours after you place the stop payment. So when someone frudulenty steals a check of yours they have plenty of time to cash. In this day in age their network should know the moment they put a stop payment on it. Ian 6/10/09 6:17AM

I have been a Regions Bank customer for years and they have never failed to provide me the best customer service under a whole array of circumstances. They are one of the few remaining businesses who still understand they provide a service and their customers' approval matters. Anonymous 5/20/10 9:34AM

The Regions branch in Palm Harbor, Florida on alternate 19 always is so pleasant and goes out of their way to help their customers.
Any time I have ever needed anything from them, the branch always takes care of it, without hesitation.
The tellers who work there are always smiling and asking how you're doing - they even remember most of the customers, from what I can tell!
I have visited other locations and have not gotten the same level of service, so I usually just stick with this location. Why mess up a good thing, right?
I am so glad that I found this branch, they seem to truly care about their customers. They even sent out thank you cards after you go in for a visit with one of their non-teller representatives (such as to discuss opening an account or obtaining a mortgage).. I found that to be very thoughtful and unnecessary, but sweet.Anonymous 5/3/10 2:56PM

I am a recent former employee of Regions Bank. It is an awful place to work. They pay tellers very little money, but they load them with responsibilities, while the others in the branch sit back and get all the benefits and bonuses. Tellers process transactions, keep close watch over large amounts of money, deal with many other clerical tasks, and we also have to try to get customers to open accounts or purchase other products.
No matter how hard tellers work at Regions, we see no reward or appreciation. I hated to leave my customers, but I had to leave because the support of all levels of Management was nonexistent.
If you are thinking about applying for a position with Regions, save yourself and go for another institution. Otherwise, enter at your won risk.Anonymous 4/11/10 10:59AM
