On February 28th at least Minutes before closing the machines went down.Customers were told by the Lead Associate to write down there phone numbers and names and they would be given a call back.
I never received a follow-through.When contacting the store I learned items were put back, no customers were contacted back like advised.I was informed it was a courtesy to hold the items.Although it's a courtesy normally when items are held furniture etc. that's by request. This hold was an unavoidable circumstance while customers were shopping and patronizing Savers business. The importance of keeping your word goes along way.I learned Savers Store manager Laurence advised his staff to put all the items back that were not picked up. Even with having customers phone numbers/names.We were not worth the decency of being contacted.
This was unacceptable. Was it so difficult to give 6 customers a courtesy due to this circumstance they had no control over.
No matter if the associate that made this advisement was not there the next day it the message should have been passed along. If there were no customers, there would not be a Savers. Savers should be accountable for what they inform their customers.Money and time could have been spent elsewhere but at that time it was spent there. When calling again to speak with the manager I was advised he was in a meeting around 10am and then told to call him back at 2pm.
I called 2pm and was placed on hold for 8 minutes.
This is not how business should be conducted.
The manager should have had his associate take my number and call me back when he was available instead having me wait on him. Please have professional leadership communicate back with me.

Never again. Shirts for 14, 15 bucks? The best was a Halloween bucket that came free with a happy meal for 3.49. Bought a few shirts last week, had to return...no fitting room of course, so lots of returns...and you can only get credit to use right now. Can't get a credit to use later when perhaps you have something in mind. Now. Damn right youre for profit, Savers...can't wait til you're investigated for preying on the disadvantaged.

I don't like that you can't return anything that you paid cash for and get your money back. They will only give you a store credit. That is wrong. Thumbs down for me Savors.

I am so disappointed in the changes. The prices are TOO high. There are no dressing rooms. There is only one sale color and they want you to check your own self out bring your own bags and pay as much as I would pay for items across the road at the Premium outlets discount stores. I'm done with this ripoff. So so disappointed !!!

Posted by Anonymous

The cashier monitor lady was very rude. I wasn't sure how to utilize the self check out. After all I am not an employee. Your employee's shouldn't assume that every one knows how to use the self check out. Plu, if you don't want people to put the hangers in the tote on the floor maybe you shouldn't have it there.

Never buying at savers again! No dressing rooms is f**cked! Can't exchange if tag was torn off? Just put it back on motherf***ers! Then what if I can't find anything that day for exchange? Have to beg the manager? Whatever! Crooks just like Goodwill.

Customer service is a joke the teenage employee would rather flirt with other staff than serve an 87 year old with a walking frame that cannot stand for much longer, for us to get to the register and be told it is for cash only, so we have to line up again while she stands there with no one to serve.i have shopped here for over 20 years it is the only place I buy clothing and I will not be back.i also USED to donate all my clothes here. Absolutely disgusted about how we were treated.

Posted by Anonymous

Fargo ND savers store. Very disappointed that you took the dressing rooms out.I don't buy many clothes there anymore,it doesnt save me money when i get them home and find out they won't work. I don't have the time to exchange them.

Posted by So long savers

I am done with Savers. Will no longer donate items or shop there and will be sure to share the reasons why with everyone I know. No dressing rooms, items are overpriced ($12 for a ratty tee shirt!), no refunds, and the most ridiculous exchange policy ever seen - no store credit, must find replacement items at the time of exchange.
What is the rationale for the elimination of dressing room? Reduce theft? Hardly, these new policies encourage theft.

Posted by Jon

Agree with others. Savers is just not worth it for clothing anymore unless it's an external item you can try on without a dressing room. No dressing rooms, no refunds. Yet you take my free donations and sell for profit. Never going to Savers again until they add dressing rooms back or give refunds.

My family goes there all the time spends hundreds of dollars they always sell Us toys with no batteries controllers or chargers which I never minded and I always go home go online and buy the battery the controller and the charger that the toll requires to operate today I went to donate two power Wheels and they tell me that they can't take it unless there's a charger now it's okay for them to sell products with no batteries and charges but when I try to donate a toy that works perfectly fine they won't take it because it doesn't have a battery or a charger

Posted by Mistee

So I donate to Savers quite often, they get my items for nothing. I go into the store and find a piece of clothing I like, but they no longer have dressing rooms to try on clothes and make sure it fits, I buy and take it home, it doesn't fit, I go back with receipt and would like a refund or at least credit. No they don't give cash refunds or credit-WHAT???? Oh I can go and find something else for the same amount, but it has to be within 7 days, if not then I lose my money. What kind of scam is this? I donate to you, I buy something but can't get a credit if it doesn't fit because I can't try it on,I have to check myself out and bring my own bags, and lose my money if I don't find a something within 7days. That's a great scam you've got going there, and I would be interested in knowing how much money any organization gets from this if any. Maybe we should all go in there and start stripping in the aisles to try on merchandise. Over the many years I have donated I would think I have given hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise to your organization, as of today you will never see me or my donated articles and I will make sure to let everyone I know aware of the scam you are running at your store

Posted by savers customer

The website is unclear about the return policy and I suggest it be clarified. Though it states that they do exchanges, in the same paragraph it says it accepts returns within 7 days. After going in the store and asking the worker, he said they do not accept returns at all. If this is the case for all Savers stores, it should be clear that returns are not accepted, rather than contradicting "exchanges" and "returns" in the same paragraph. I know of other Savers who have accepted returns so if the return policy differs by location please clarify that on the website as well. This also causes stress to your employees who have to deal with this confusion customers rightfully have.

Posted by Justin Other Frustrated Customer

So I see I'm not the only one who feels the frustration of no dressing rooms and a exchange policy that is almost extortion. I don't understand why store credit has to be used on the day of the return.

There has to be a system that works both for savers and its customers that allow the use of the store credit on a later date. I just don't understand why there isn't more flexibility when there's no dressing rooms to make sure they fit before leaving the store.

I was just at savers at the customer service was horrible and the employees where so rude. Everything is so over priced. Things are donated to them.

Posted by MCA

I had one of the worst shopping experiences at Savers Thriftsuperstore in Vacaville today. Not only the merchandises are unmarked, but no one can price them for me. Some of the employees were extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. They were busy buying their stuff instead of helping us when we asked to find someone to unlock the bag for purchase.

Went to return an item. The day before I purchased and asked if it was returnable if didn't fit. Was a coffee pot. She yold me I had 14 days to return for store credit. The next day went to return and manager said I could not return for credit because it says at the cash register only clothing. I explained i was told day before I could return. He got nasty and again said store policy and it was on reciet. I then said was told I could lest I wouldn't have purchased. I then said then I was lied to. He got nasty to me. Keep in mind this was a 3.00 item. I tossed the pot in the trash. And walked out. I'm sure he picked it up and put back on shelf to resale. Over the past 5 yrs I have donated lots of nice stuff in which they have profitted hundreds. It wasn't the store policy or the fact the cashier made a mistake, it was his attitude and care less approach on handeling the situation. So very rude!

My experience with savers is frustrating
The Burlington Fairview store in Canada staff are unreasonable and complaints don't get answered directly at least for me
I belive Savers should make it known that unsold items are compacted at the back of the store and sent the dump
I plan on starting a protest and boycot til savers finds a way to ethically fond a way to give back to communities and stop sumping unsold donations I plan on trying to make this common knowledge
Don't compact our donations
I will be protesting the stores and hope to gain a following of others interested in the environmental ethics of savers

Posted by Deodre

Savers in Canada and it may be a thrift store it's not a ethical store in Canada a most stored have a compactor at the back of the store . All unsold items get compacted and sent to the dump
The store rarely of ever in Canada lowers the price of the item instead it scared by the compactor sadly in a time when the poor can't afford food and household items savers Canada sends them to the dump most of the items are usable please reconsider there you donate to

With the return policy being such as it is, I will neither be shopping at Savers nor making donations to this organization again. No dressing rooms, no refunds, not even exchanges, no thanks. And the return policy, if you can even call it that, isn't even clearly posted anywhere--that's probably the worst thing of all.

I went to the Warwick RI Savers store. I had to leave a message regarding Jeff. I never do this but Jeff told me about the rewards program etc.. I have been to other Savers and no one ever told me about this before. He was so kind and they should be very proud to have him.

Very strange return policy only clothing can be exchanged but that's the last thing I would return so I won't buy anything that cost more that $10 that way when something is no good after trying it at home you are not out that much money

Re Savers Shop At 91 Queen St, Morley, Ls27 8dw

Product..............soda Crystals......£1.......(green Wrapper)

The Above Product Is Stocked At The Above Store But The Contents Of All Of The Bags In The Shop For The Last 2/3 Weeks Have Become Solidified Within The Plastic Wrapper Into A Solid Brick Like Block. Whilst The Actual Soda Will Not Have Been Damaged As Such, It Is Nevertheless Unusable In The Domestic Way For Which It Has Been Manufactured Without Hammering Or Grinding The Solid Block On A Workbench, Using A Hammer, Chisel And Grater Which Hardly Lends Itself To Safety. It Can't Be Shredded By Hands Alone.

The Bag Itself Does State That At Warm Temperatures Soda Crystals Can Go Hard But Can Be Rectified By Dissolving In Hard Water, Which From Has Happened With A Couple Of Previous Purchases Some Time Ago, But Surely Not When The Entire Contents Have Become A Solid Brick.

I Have Talked To The Manager Of The Shop Who Was Very Pleasant, But Emphasized That Whatever State All Goods Arrived At The Shop From Wherever, They Had To Be Put On The
Shelves Regardless. Even Laundry Soap Powders? It Does Seem Unfortunate That A Manager Of Your Company Is Not Given Any Discretion In Such Matters.

So The Search Continues Elsewhere.

I want to commend a cashier named Tammy at fall river Massachusetts savers.she is always helpful, knowledgeable, kind, attentative, friendly, and always a warm smile..she is a tremendous benefit to savers .however, I can NOT say the same for her male manager on Tuesday on 7/17/22 and other occasions who rudely treats her and extremely rudely treats me as a regular customer and even TELLS ME,AN ELDERLY DISABLED VETERAN, TO LEAVE THE STORE!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!I wish I knew his name!! He should NOT BE IN THIS POSITION, THATS NO WAY TO TREAT ANY CUSTOMER!!!!!!@

The Aldershot branch is brilliant the staff are very helpful and the manageress is the best very cheap prices we love it

Dealers/resellers monopolize the carts nearly knocking down elderly patrons.

Dealers/resellers make friends with employees to get the advantage on items before they hit the floor.

Dealers/resellers are just plain rude!!!

I just want to say Debra and Kathy are awesome register ladies. Stephanie fills those racks with new clothes faster than anyone I have ever seen! Love these Savers employees!!

Went into the store; associate greeted me. I was shocked. The store was very clean. When I checked out the Cashier Mary so professional and very friendly with her customer service. We need more people like her in some of these other businesses.
Keep up the great job.

I want to express my experience with calling customer service. There was some kind of confusion when I established my account, in that it did not recognize my phone number or email. The gentlemen I spoke with, Jeremy Calanche, was of great help. He set up a new account for me and was polite and totally helpfull. Thank you Jeremy for your help!

Just wanted to take a moment to give acknowledgment to two employees at Madison-East Savors Store. I am 63 years old and while shopping in Savors last week, I mentioned to a young man (Named Brody) that I wanted to continue to shop but had to leave because I needed to take some medicine that required it be taken with food. He went and brought me a snack bar that was his. What a kind gesture on his part! Then when I was ready to check out, another young man (named Adam) told me my total bill and I realized that I was about .40 short to recieve a second stamp on my promotion card. He let me have the stamp. What wonderful employees work at Madison-East Savors. Keep up the good work!!!! Great Service. Will shop there again. Thank you for you time. Mrs. Judith Hutchinson

Have been trying to reach a live person. I did not receive my last paycheck and have been getting the run around trying to get it mailed to me.

I was just hired at savers in the Rochester NY area. I took a early retirement from a suburban School to finish my Masters degree. Well I trained approximately 2 hrs in sorting but my main job was intake of donations. The general manager cut my hrs. when I asked my immediate supervisor if there was some thing I did wrong she answered "no I don't understand why your hours got cut". The next day a employee got arrested for stealing from your company. Why are you not running a criminal background and drug testing checks before hiring. Just what type of people do you want working at Savers? Criminals? Drug addicts? Excuse me maybe I don't fit in but I am suspecting and will pursue age an discrimination case if I don't get a reply or reason for my "dismissal".

Prior to working as manager for Savers. I enjoyed going to the store twice or even three times a week, depending if I was close by. One day, I decided to just grab a slip and apply. I had many years as Mangers in my work history. I was just going to apply for a PT cashier. During my first interview process , the young assistant manager asked why don't I apply for a manager position. She said, I was way over qualify for cashier. I thought about it and told her lets do. I was hire on after several steps of interviews process. I could not be more excited to start. My training went by very quickly and i struggle a little bit but nothing I couldn't handle. I loved the employees and enjoyed helping the customers. The difficult part of my job was my boss. She would point out my mistakes in front of other employees and customers instead of waiting for the appropriate time to talk to me. She made me feel like I was 5 yrs. old. I consider myself professional and dress conservative. She sent me home 3 times saying I was not dress appropriate to Savers dresscode. I was put on my own by the fourth day. Each night I would write down questions and approach her in the morning for clarifications. Instead of showing me and teaching me. Her responds were very rude and tells me. You should have gotten things down by now, telling me to leave it and she'll fix it. I told her I need to know it in order not to make the mistake again. She tells me we don't have all day. I also have dyslexia since age 11 and numbers confuses me, but I have managed muti-million dollar company without any problem. I just have to look at numbers or count and recount a couple times to identify them. She made very rude gesture toward me during this process of training with her. she tells me, its elementary math, how hard is it? this made me more nervous to perform my duties. In the beginning, she told me it was my store do what I think its best for the company. During my shift, I would do some switching around (per company policy). The next day, she would say things like. Why did you do this, and tells me she hates it, and who told me to change things, did I have her permission. Again, not talking to me in private but almost screaming at me. I did not feel respected among my employees. Some of the employees felt sorry for me, some discredit my ability as a manager to lead them. They customers walked away, from the look on their face, either they felt bad or just didn't want me to get embarrassed. Soon, I find myself not wanting to go to work, but I didn't want to give up either. I continue to try and make it work in many ways with her. Finally, I told her I needed to have a meeting her. I expressed to her how it made me feel when she does does those things and asked her to please correct me privately. She did not feel she did any wrong and things got worse. Finally, I know that it wasn't going to change and with me being a happy spirit person. I felt that no matter what I did right or wrong. She would find ways to point out my wrongs. I left knowing it was bring me down and it was best that I remain who I am and not let her negativity invade my good nature.
Being a manager does not mean you dictates to other employees, you are their support and if you can't support or help them succeed then you should be one. Some managers take their title way too far. Forgot what made them managers. Remember where we all started at. Be thank full and grateful at the end of the day. Thank each and everyone for their hard work even if some don't, it will put a weight on their heart and they will also show improvements next time. Acknowledge who they are because they will be there when you need them. You as managers are only as good as the employees and customers say you are.
