I recently took my car into Glanzman Subaru (11/1/23) for annual inspection. The fog lights were not working so They had to be repaired to pas# inspection. After 2 days they had to order a part, this did not work. They did an electric diagnostic. And still could not find problem. They tried calling tech line for help and it took 3 days to get in touch with them. (Tech line too busy) Finally after going back and forth with service advisor, they did another diagnostic and determined wires to fog relay were chewed. This process took 20 days to solve ( I did get a loaner thankfully). The final tally came to over $800.00 which in my opinion is a complete ripoff. Having talked to Service Manager, she insisted that sometimes things like this happen and I was always in the loop. Needless to say I was in the loop because I communicated to them to get any response. I have had the car since 2016 ( brand new). Purchased at Glanzman etc. have been a loyal customer etc. And now on top of that, my battery needs replacing, this will be the third battery in 7 years. Something is terribly wrong with this whole scenario. In my opinion, Subaru dealership in Hatboro, PA is taken advantage of there customers and very unprofessional. As a consumer, I will not deal with them any longer. My future automotive needs will be taken care of buy some one else. I did receive an senior discount (10%). Big whoop!

Subaru customer service is horrible. They used to be good but I recently contacted them and found out they would not work with you at all. I can talk to customer service rep they will just pass a message to so called specialist or specialist supervisor who actually take care of the problem. The specialist called me once after I called customer service many times and the problem should be taken care of by Thursday and but I never heard from her again. Do not waste your time to talk to them. buy Subaru cars give you a lot of problems. Subaru is Japanese car but it is totally different from good Japanese cars like Toyota or Honda.

It's a huge waste of time to deal with Subaru Customer service Advocacy they will side with the dealership and refuse to listen to you.

My car had some damage done to it by vandals. Subaru can't get the parts for months. Ridiculous.

I live in rural Canada. I purchased a new 2020 Subaru Forester Sport from a dealer 5 hours away from me.

At 83,000km, I found a rear wheel bering had failed, and had a local mechanic shop replace it. Subaru Canada tells me that it is not responsible for any warranty coverage that is not done at a Subaru dealership. Given how few and far away dealerships are to where I live, I think that this is very unreasonable.

I like the car, but 83,000km is very premature for a wheel bearing failure. I think Subaru is using their fine print to skirt responsibility for what was obviously a defective component.

I regret buying a Subaru.

When I drove it off the lot after paying for the Gold+ warranty, the window regulator had issues.

I was told by the salesman that as a specific example, the service guys say there's no such thing.

I paid for free oil changes when I financed, I've also paid $85-160 an oil change.

My windshield was poorly seal and stress cracked from temperature, they gave me a 1500 dollar estimate after telling me that it should be cover since there was no impact.

I took it to the body shop where they did not actually complete the work properly, leaving paint chips and a messed up rim.

The entire windshield is now spidered, and I brought to the other location where a man who was not my service advisor decided to berate me and say that it was an impact right there (the crack migrated to where he was pointing and it was November when I attempted to file it when it was clearly a small stress crack, but they did not document anything)

Do yourself a favor, consider a different brand.

I've been on the phone for months trying to speak to warranty specialists who say they can't do anything.

I think my only option is to file a lawsuit.

Horrible experience with 2021 Outback. I have had 27 roadside service calls since 10/22. All for dead battery!

Posted by john

Subaru Canada is dismissive and makes any excuse to not honour warranty issues. If they answer the phone or email in a timely basis they are sympathetic or understanding and sure don't make the customer happy. Dealers are even worse!
I like the car but will never recommend them since Subaru Canada does not provide adequate support or satisfy warranty issues.

Maintenance department at Subaru of Pembroke Pines needs new management. While my service representative, Steven, is always professional and polite, I have had few positive experiences. Most recently, my driver side window would not operate during wet weather. An ALL day attempt to repair the issue failed. When I picked up the vehicle, it had not been washed as part of their service benefit. The door was dirty from the mechanic(s) hands. The tire pressure was different on all four tires; 31, 33, 29, and 34. Clearly not checked and properly inflated. The next morning, the car wouldn't start. They must have done all the power widow work off of battery power only. Dealership would not send a flatbed. I had to request roadside assistance. They came and jumped the battery. I let the car run for over thirty minutes, then drove to auto parts store to buy new battery. The car wouldn't start with old battery. Had to change out battery in the parking lot O'Reilly. Dealership feigned concern with a phone call. No offer to replace battery that they killed. When my window's parts come in I will go to another dealership.

The policies of the Subaru dealer in Great Falls MT are ridiculous. I purchased a new Outback, no trade-in, no loan. I was charged an additional $1000 because of it. . ln addition, I was not able to settle up with a check or a cashier's check. They only accept wire transfers. I ordered the car in February, 2023 and took delivery in June, 2023. That gave the dealer plenty of time to perform a credit check. I offered to write a personal check, leave the car with the dealer until the check cleared, but NO. I felt I was treated like a criminal. As someone with no debt, why am I penalized? I had sympathy for the employees on hand as they had to justify this ridiculous policy. I have since told everyone in town to head to Placer Motors in Helena to purchase a car. I was able to write a personal check for may last Subie and drive it off the lot. I will put my comments on YELP and/or other websites. We purchased a car at our local Toyota dealer a few weeks ago with a personal check...same situation; no trade-in, no loan.

The Customer Advocacy element of Subaru is an utter sham. It is actually a bucket of cold water where customer's requests for a reasonable response to problems are held under water until death. I received no reality based response from the 9 people we spoke to over the past month. Now happily driving a Honda CR-V Hybrid Spirt Touring and loving everything about it!

Subaru and Subaru of America is just down right pathetic don't ever buy or try to talk to Subaru of America bc they are no help and just side with there other Subaru dealers even tho they now that the part number is wrong and t takes forever to talk to who runs ur case because they all talk to one another so they don't have to pay and replace. Very pathetic people and service is shit

There are FOUR Subaru vehicles in our household. Yes four! Two of them we own outright and another two are headed vehicles. We are very happy with our 2019 Forester Sport, as well as with the two Impreza hatchbacks that are sons are driving. Our 2012 Legacy Premium is another story. The build quality of that vehicle is below the standard set by virtually all other Japanese auto manufacturers. It is a noisy, unexceptional vehicle -?and one that as we approach 100,000 miles that was misrepresented by the salesman at Liberty Subaru of Emerson, NJ as never needing to have its timing belt (an expensive job) replaced because my wife and I were assured that unlike similar sedans made by Honda, Nissan, Toyota etc. that Subaru Legacy's have a steel timing belt rather than a rubber one that needs replacing. Perhaps our sales rep was misinformed, but now that my wife and I are retired and on fixed incomes, we are now learning that we need to either pay a large fee to maintain the engine timing belt (made of rubber) or dump the car. We are not happy, and while our other Subarus are working fine, out next car is not likely going to be a Subaru.

Paid to download and update my Naviextrs sim card, but it didn't go well. Have been asking Naviextra for help to resolve the problem through their official site and customer service email (they even gave me a ticket number) but have not heard back from them. It has been over a month now! All this time I have not had a functioning navigations system (other than my mobile phone) in my Subaru Forester XT from 2018...

Horrible dealerships selling lemons. Horrible customer service line. Subaru "certified" body shop caused permanent damage to my car. Never again.

Posted by Madtown

Very disappointed with how Subaru has been handling their battery issues.
My Legacy has had multiple dead batteries issues. The battery would not hold a charge and it left me stranded. SUBARU has refused to accept responsibility.
This had been a company that i highly respected but no more. Next car will no be a Subaru.

Terrible. Fue to their lack of support, I will never buy again.

Own a used 2018 crosstrek have had ongoing issues with Starlink/Subaru customer service. They keep giving me the run around. Paid $1200 to have new head unit for starlink installed at my choice because wanted to use the extended starlink safety features. Wish I never had updated this. Big joke trying to get it resolved to work properly. Hasn't worked properly since and that includes 4 trips to the Subaru dealership for them to try and fix it still have not. Telling me something with the connection with AT&T who knows. Plus trying to talk to someone at Subaru customer advocacy is also a big joke as they never get back to you. So thankfully I love the car but I definitely do not recommend Subaru with getting this issue resolved.

Posted by Anonymous

I just bought a used Subaru Forster. STARLINK doesn't work on this car due to the former owner info is still connected to the app. I was instructed to call Subaru. Twice I was kicked off with them saying they would call me back when it was my turn. That was two days ago. I then sent an email. I didn't receive a confirmation that this email was received.

Bought a 2019 outback with 45k miles from Gainesville Fl dealership this is a certified used. Car ! The alignment was supposedly done. Took the car back 4 weeks and said the car is pulley to the right. Dealership stated nothing wrong,
The dealership attitude was not good called several times to the service department saying something is not right with the battery. No one ever called back
Went out of state for Christmas stopped at Arby's. Car was dead called AAA. To get a jump. Called my dealership the guy said " what are doing in N C"
He gave to a lady in the service department who hung up on e Took the car to nearest dealership had the car checked the battery was not good I replaced the battery with a 300.00 one The N C dealership was so helpful. Unlike the one I bought the car from I am. Just feeling the love for this car at all

I own a 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness. It came with the StarLink system with a remote starter. Here in Pennsylvania, we are experiencing record cold and wind chills well below zero. The remote feature hasn't worked since December 22. I called the number on the Star Link site and the customer representative told me to go to my car and they would reset it. When I called them from my car, a different representative told me that I needed to take it to a dealer. My local dealer can't get in into service until December 28. A full WEEK without this service? Terrible. I am VERY dissatisfied and will most likely NOT purchase another Subaru.

Prior to today I really was happy with the service I received at my dealership. I had an issue with my vehicle, it had a recall, nothing serious. I had my car in for an oil change first part of October and wanted the recall fixed and was told I needed to make an appointment. So I did. Appointment was for 10AM and I was out at 12:15. Recall was never addressed. The only thing that was done was 2 lights were replaced. At checkout when I asked if the recall was corrected I was told that I said I had no other issues when told about the service that was requested by the service dept. I asked if the recall had been addressed and was told yes. At checkout again I asked if the recall had been addressed and at that point was told I never mentioned it at the discussion of what they felt needed to be done. I was also told that the mechanic that would be able to correct that recall had just left for lunch and that that paticular recall takes 2 hours to complete. I said nevermind paid for the 2 replaced lights after 2 and a half hours and left. Very very horrible experience. The whole point of the scheduled appointment was to fix the recall. To add to it I had 2 different ratings on the same vehicle 2 weeks apart. Last rating was wanting me to have multipul things done first rating was telling me that everything was ok. Not sure what is going on but I wont go back. I can find an honest mechanic that won't try to trick me into something I don't need.

my 2018 crosstrek is on its FIFTH radio, installed sep 2021 and started acting up after only TWO DAYS > I told dealer ( subaru of saskatoon in Canada ) that they should maybe dig further into the car to find the problem . They Said No and dealer has now told me that subaru-canada is saying no more warranty on my radio,,, even though the IDIOTS have Never Figured Out the Radio Problem

I bought a 2013 Subaru Forester 4 years ago. It only had 42,000 miles on it and then I had an oil consumption test. My warranty expired by two months! They would not cover the short block expense because I was past my two month warranty end date. They would only help out $1500!!! They've donated over 22 million to charity and animals. They have a "love promise" they won't stand behind. The consumers that buy their vehicles, they can't help them out! I am a single mom who couldn't afford to fix my car. This issue has cause further issues in my catalytic converter. I do NOT recommend buying subaru. I have no idea what I will do now for a vehicle.

I just purchased a Subaru Forester and I love it! This was the first time I bought a car alone and was nervous about doing it, but my sales rep, Tiler Tate made me feel so comfortable. He was exceptional and I highly recommend him. Then going to the business end of it with Rory Klossner was also a very good experience. He explained everything to me, took his time. Everyone at the Dealership is very friendly and I can't say enough good about it. Again, thank you for the wonderful service and I LOVE MY FORESTER.

Not enough room for cell phone and other things people bring and need want in front cubbie hole with them ridiculously small . This day and age the way people drive the drink holders should be in front so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to get drink and to put drink back in holder. The change is not good on my 2023 Outback.

I can't say enough good about my experience. Brain Mullins was who I spoke with and not only was he super nice he was early and so was I. He listened to my problem (an electrical issue with my break lights at no fault of Subaru) I told him what had happened and he reassured me he would fix it. I didn't have to wait very long. As for the wait you can see as they are working on your vehicle, that's a little piece of mind you don't normally get. It's clean, it's pleasant, Mr. Mullins was a delight and I will ask for him from now on. I went in aggravated and left with a smile all THANKS TO Mr. Brian Mullins. Thank you!

Read all 4 happy ending! We have an extended warranty that we bought for Subaru Legacy when it was new. Had took it to a different dealership in Florida to fix it for rough idling. Instead of fixing the problem, they tried to upsell other services/products that weren't covered by our warranty. Advisor informed us that our car was "totally neglected". NOT! Advisor told us that before they could do anything else, we needed to have uncovered services done first for $1700 & did NOT fix the rough idling. Went 2 Sarasota Subaru. Advisor,Chase Klugh,DID NOT try to upsell or insult us! Instead, they actually fixed the problem which was the alternator & covered by our warranty! Chase was friendly, knowledgeable, & efficient. Chase & mechanics did an awesome job! We highly recommend them & Sarasota Subaru.

We were involved in a car accident on our 2020 Ascent Subaru. It was a terrifying experience that will haunt us forever. This car saved us! We were protected at every angle inside. Wow! Starting with the airbags and the windows all protected from shattering. I won't go into details on what the other car looked like. By the grace of God and the timing of crash we walked out without a scratch. Thank you Subaru manufacturer. This is our third Subaru!

In a world of negativity- I would like to give a positive review on the Kingsport Tennessee Subaru service department and more specifically David Reynolds. I am a single female senior citizen and unfortunately this demographic is often treated with dismissal and disrespect. David treated me with respect and went above and beyond in dealing with my car issues. My transmission had to be replaced and he communicated often through the replacement process.
I hope you acknowledge his professionalism and efforts to go above and beyond expectations. It is because of him that I will be a return customer to that dealership and to Subaru

I wish to complement and thank Chris and Tina at Colonial Subaru in Kingston NY. They're both friendly, knowledgeable, and very charming and nice. I hope that Subaru knows how fortunate they are to have associates of Chris and Tina's caliber.

I just wanted to let you know that the Pleasantville, NJ dealership is an asset to your company. Jamie (sorry I don't know his last name) and Bob King are the most honest salelsman that I have ever dealt with. I personally am a Legacy lover. My brother, Dominic G. bought a Subaru Legacy and a Forester from them. He also got my daughter to buy a 2016 Impreza. He also got several other family members to buy a Subaru because of the amazing customer service. I am leasing a 2017 Legacy and every time I get in the car, it feels like the first time. Two years ago my daughter bought a 2014 Impreza and she was hit head on by another driver. All she had was a tiny cut on her forearm. Naturally the car was totaled. When I went with her to get her things from the car I felt physically sick. The whole front end was pushed up to the dashboard and my daughter walked away from it. I can't thank you enough for making such a safe automobile. I will never buy or lease any other car than a Subaru. God bless.

I want to commend Jason LaFord (sales consultant) and John Thomas (delivery specialist) of Subaru of Bend for having spent almost an hour attempting to figure out whether I could connect my cell phone to my 2012 Outback 3.6 and choose whether or not the connection was activated and the sound volume of the ring.

I bought my Subaru used from a dealer located in the Portland suburbs 18 months ago. Given the consistently exceptional customer service at Subaru of Bend, I will most definitely purchase my next Subaru from them.

Went to Lancaster Subaru suprtstore for their express service. When I got their, I saw 10 cars with numbers on them for express service.
Expecting to be waiting for hours, I was told I would be out in at most 30 minutes. I sat down to read my paper and drink coffee for a long wait. 20 minutes later, Maria, called my name and said my car was ready. I kept raving about how fast and efficient they were. Everyone was so friendly, from Colleen, who checked me in, to the cashier who checked me out. Even the parts guy was great, when I bought some Subaru Christmas presents for myself. My only complaint is that they are so fast that I didn't have time to finish my coffee and paper, haha. Seriously, what a great service experience. It's nice to know that you do what you promise. Kudos to the entire staff, especially Mara , at Lancaster superstore, and happy holidays!

My husband and I purchased our 2013 Subaru Imprezza from Five Star Subarus in Oneonta NY. We have been very pleased with the car, the service and the community oriented dealership.
Last week we were traveling from our home in upstate NY to Kansas City MO and needed to find a Subaru dealership to check on something which we thought might be wrong with the car. We found a dealership in Pittsburg, Day West Liberty Subaru. They checked our car, pronounced it fine and fit for travel, washed the car we were off again, I wanted to let you know how nice they were and how quickly they took car of the matter. It's nice to know that we are in good hands with Subaru even when we are not in our home town. Thank you, Kathleen and David Jones

This message should be titled The Good, The Bad and the Beautiful. The Beautiful refers to our new Legacy! We are very impressed with every aspect of the car. The reason for this email is to compare two of your dealers. We went to Redding Subaru (an hour to the east of us) and were extremely disappointed. Besides steering us toward a used car when we were looking new, there was a couple in the showroom negotiating on the very 2014 Legacy the salesman was pushing. The staff was untruthful, reluctant to return the keys of our trade in after they evaluated it and down right rude when we told them that they didn't have what we were looking for. The salesman called 20 minutes after we left, increased the trade-in offer by $2000 and told us that the car we had described was not in California, Oregon or Nevada. After hearing this, my wife checked online to see if there was a Subaru dealer in Eureka (two hours west of us). Not only was there a dealer, but on their web site, they boasted the exact car we were looking for! They held it for us for two days until we could get to the coast, sold us the Legacy for exactly what we were willing to spend and actually increased, by $500, the offer on the trade-in we had made them. They washed the car, filled it up with gas and spent 30 minutes explaining the radio/blue tooth/nav the car came with. I have never been more pleased with the experience of buying a car!!! I told the story to all that would listen and will only do business with McCrea in the future. A real jewel in your company.
Please respond to this message.

I just have to say, that the commercial with the little girl going to school
for the first time is one of my favorite commercials.
It touches my heart, she is a cutie I talk about it all the time, and every-
one agrees. Continue doing what your doing, you guys make great
commercials.
Thank You

Give the marketing department a raise! Subaru is probably the only commercials that I "LOVE" to watch. I agree with all the comments already posted that the dad putting his little girl on the school bus is priceless (content, music and message). The chocalate Lab growing up with the family changes and their Subaru another home run!! By the way I own a 2009 Subaru Tribeca and I love it! If it ever needs to be replaced I am hooked on Subaru.

Posted by Tommy_Gunn

The person who created the ad with the little girl getting on the bus is an GENIUS!!! It makes you want to go out and buy a Subaru. Trust me,I wish can go buy one today. But I can't afford one. Taking care of my parents. Their home of 40 years was foreclosed because my father lost his job at FORD!!! It's an never ending cycle.

Posted by Carolyn

I absolutely think the commercial with the little girl waiting for the bus with her dad is the BEST commercial!!!! I literally cry every time I watch it I rewind and rewind the commercial. Whoever styled the little girl with her hair and clothes, it is perfect. The expression on her face with her little frown is priceless and when she turns to her dad to say goodbye and the turning when she gets on the bus...... I want to cry!!!! Very very creative!! I wish the little girl could be in other commercials or tv shows.

Posted by grannysoni

Dear Subaru...this comment is in reference to your latest TV commercial. This commercial about the daddy putting his little girl on the school bus for the first time, is by far...the best commercial I have ever seen, bar none. If I had the money to buy a new car....it would be a Subaru! Just because of that commercial. Sometimes companies don't get recognized for something they do right! Well, you did this one right! YOU ROCK!

Called main office and spoke to customer service (Andrew) I needed to know what options I could get with the outback I wanted. He was very informative and lead me in the right direction for my order. Calling the main office was the best way to go again thank you Andrew.

I am on my 4th Subaru, a 2010 Outback. It now has 45K since I took delivery in July, 2009. There was a minor issue with the moonroof and it was repaired nicely under warranty. With all of my Subarus there has been very little repair and warranty work done. They have all been excellent vehicles, as close to "bulletproof" as I have seen in a vehicle. I have not been impressed with the dealer service, so it is good that the vehicles are very reliable.
