  • Terrible, terrible customer service at Quirk VW in Manchester, NH. Service department is rude and arrogant...couldn't even get an oil change on my 2009 Jetta without experiencing an issue with rudeness.

  • Worst customer service ever. They owed me money and sent it to my old address -- 2 years ago I moved. They refused to stop payment on the check. I yelled and screamed at them as they want me to wait 30 days just so they can get the check back and then reissue. I talked to 2 supervisors and one lied to me and said I would get the check the next day. It never happened. This is their error and they will not service me as a customer. They are arrogant and the most disrespectful employees I have ever met. They are holding up the purchase agreement now on my new car. I will never buy a car from them ever. Volkswagen.....you're disgusting.

  • We went to South Yarra Volkswagen to test drive a Golf TSI.
We were told a very rude manner that you cannot just turn up for a test drive, that you have to make an appointment in advance.
The salesman John Clark was extremely rude, arrogant and completely unhelpful.
His service and attutude reflects very poorly on VW as a whole.

  • Engine light comes on sporatic.Took it in and $1200.00 later, still comes on. Was promised a rental as I live 70 miles from dealer. Got my bill and the rental was charged to me. Asked for my old parts. Guess what? They threw them away. Convient?? Oh, the G.M. gave me a 20% discount as an appeasement for not having my old parts!!My "Advisor"told me that was why the rental was added to my bill.
Do I have any recourse??? Maybe report to BBB?

  • If I had read the comments from the folks who signed on here, I would never had bought the car. My expereince with customer service has also been terrible. Sent certified letters to senior management and they only responded through an admin assistant type person. Fixed what went wrong in one part of the servicing but never even checked to verify the second part of the complaint and did not fix that. Took the car to another place which confirmed the second part of the complaint anad then fixed it. Most indifferent customer service I have ever experienced. I will never make another Volkswagen purchase.

  • own a 2004 VW Passat, the stop engine lite went off, took it to the nearest mechanic, and was told the engine was full of sludge. took it to Gunther VW of Coconut Creek , and was told I needed a new engine, but they were willing to drill a hole in the engine to drain off the oil so I could trade the car at another dealer. had the car towed to a private mechanic, and after thousands of dollars later his is replacing the engine. currently driving a friends 2010 VW CC, and it is pouring grease out of the bottom of the passenger doors, typical of VW, Focused on the cosmetic, and failing on the engineering. Poor excuse for a product, and scary possibilities of a product transporting people!!!

    villing123@aol.com 7/21/10 6:20PM

  • worst response from a company ever seen. no responsibility of their product. not getting my delivery of polo for last 100 days with no feedback.

  • Brand new 2010 VW Eos. . . 6 weeks old and the clutch fails. They said I must have abused it. I've put 90,000 miles on my other standards without a single clutch problem, and I baby this car more than those. Obviously not abuse on my part. . . it all comes down to them not wanting to stand behind their cars. $33,000 for a pile of garbage that I can't even drive now. Whatever you do, do not buy a VW!

    JayPar16 5/28/10 11:28PM

  • I have had nothing but troubles with my 2009 VW. Neither the dealership nor Customer Care make much effort to help resolve. My 1 year old car has been in for the exact same repair more than 10 times in one year. Backorder of parts usually keeps it in the shop for more that 3-4 days each time.
Customer Care always says they are sorry for the inconvience, but do NOTHING. I was even told that this is why new cars have a warranty...really...so it can be in the shop several days each month. I expect more from a new car. Buy used.

  • I find it interesting that when I go to pay my bill online, there is always a problem. My payment doesn't go through, I can't log on, or VW Credit fails to send me a reminder (good thing I'm anal about paying my bills). Try to pay early, as you don't want one of these hick-ups every time to cost you late fees. My first bill was send within 2 days of the due date. Was able to make an over the phone payment. Something is very wrong...

    Karen 5/15/10 1:06PM

  • For those who are interested in purchasing a Volkswagen don't bother. My new 2010 Golf has a touch screen radio which has not worked for 2 of the 3 months I have had it. I have been told the stereo is on backorder with no arrival date and no other options to resolve this problem. The dealership and the customer service department have been useless in resolving this issue. There are many other good cars out there......spend your money elsewhere where you are valued as a customer.

    Anonymous 5/13/10 5:46PM

  • Almost impossible to speak to anyone by phone. The staff do not 'respect' their customers and they seem demoralized and disinterested . They nearly always have to retain the car overnight when it is serviced causing great inconvenience and annoyance.
The garage notified me by post that I was due for a service and MOT, when the car went in for both, I was informed that the MOT could not be done as the certificate would be too early to be legal. This means return of car and going thro. the whole inefficient rigmarole again. I assume extra cost will be involved and wonder whether this letter was a ploy to make extra money.
I am constantly irritated by them and after 20 years of VW cars, I will now switch to Mercs.

  • Purchased a used 2003 jetta from northland volkswagen approx a month ago. Within a day of buying it we noticed an odd sound coming from the rear passenger side area. Brought it in right away, they assured us that they took it apart and couldn't find anything wrong. The next day it started making the same sound, this time we waited a week and got several recordings of the noise so they couldn't tell us we were insane. Still they couldn't find anything then tried to tell us cars were supposed to make that noise (not a chance).

Not much later the check engine light came on, that was the last straw. We brought it over to a different volkswagen dealer and sure enough there were a ton of things wrong. ALL of the glow plugs need replacing, the timing belt (which we had been ensured was just replaced when we were purchasing) badly needed replacement, and that strange noise we kept hearing? Turns out the bearing on the rear passenger side was shot. They want to charge us almost 2 grand for the repairs DESPITE the fact that we bought the extended warranty which they assured us at the time of purchase would cover anything like that. I'm about to call Volkswagen Canada, will update if I get anything out of them.

  • Purchased 2009 CC in London Ontario Canada. Stopped in Sarasota Florida to have 10000km service. US purchased CC has "free" service but advised that I would have to pay. When I got my car back (oil change/filter/inspection) the bill was $183.00...."OUTRAGEOUS" among other things ,I said....I had to pay.
Volkswagen of America related that dealers can charge what they want and would not assist. Volkswagen of Canada said the same thing. My dealer said they were real sorry

  • just need to get this off my chest. WORST CAR COMPANY EVER. WORST RELIABILITY, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

  • # Unfortunatly I purchased a new Jetta in 2008. The sunrood shattered while I was driving down the highway and I made the first 2 payments on it while it was in the shop. That has been over a year ago and after 3 new glasses, new tracking, new headliner (because they left hand prints all over a tan interior) and countless adjustments it still isn't right. The service dept. is very incompetent and admitted that they had never changed a sunroof, after the fact.

  • I bought a 2006 Passat last May and have nothing but trouble - ECU failure - VW could find a problem so replaced my key, fuel pump broke, fuel injector broke etc.
Whilst all these cost money, it is the appalling customer service I have received from VW that annoys me. Today they hung up on me, as once again they got it wrong! They do no have my car down as regiatered to me so will not discuss the complaint I made about my car! An error made by the local dealer!
How can such a large company get away with such appaloing custoner services. rthis was after taking 4 days to even assign my case to a manager - in which time I had my car repaired elsewhere as I have lost all faith in them!
I have a file of letters, emails etc of the times I have tried to resolve my issues. It is now not about financial recompense, but some recognition of how appalling they are at customer services

  • I bought a new 2005 bug convertable in 05. The dealer at Hillcrest in Lower Burrel, PA was a total jerk after we signed the papers. He did not fill the tank as promised. Then the lense cracked on the fog light and it cost over 500 at Rorich Toyota/VW on West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh that the warrenty didn't cover. . Please take us off of your mailing list. We got rid of the car in less than a year. I spend an hour a day since that experience telling people Not to buy volkswagen at all!! And will for a long time to come. Please take us off your mailing list. Nothing could ever lead to believe you sell anything but Chinese Junk....

  • 2009 Rabbit, 3 months old, 1000 miles.

Goes every direction but straight. Seems to be associated with VW's, still relatively new, electro-mechanical power steering system.

Volkswagen of America's response in a nutshell: "too bad, it's your car now".

Still trying to figure the problem out on my own.

  • Bought a used 2006 VW Jetta TDI and I like the car well enough, but VW does not stand behind their cars. The XM receiver had been out for quite awhile and I just assumed that the previous owner's subscription had expired. I went to restart the subscription and found out the XM receiver didn't work at all. When I took it in and found out it was broke, VW said the best they could do was offer a new unit at half price, which was STILL around $400. I start poking around on the Internet and these XM receivers are failing for EVERYBODY, so it's a known problem. VW should just replace it even though I am now 7,700 miles past the warranty because it's been broken almost since the time I first bought the car and that was well within the warranty period.

  • Your customer service contact person could not assist me in diagnosising my VW Passat problem nor could she connect me to any technical service people. She said that technical service was only available via my local VW dealer. However, she did say that VW dealers have access to VW's technical service assistances. I find it hard to believe that VW has technical service people but only make them avaailable to their dealers. We are getting close to replacing this vehicle and because of this and numerous other realibility problems with the vehicle, will probably not consider another VW product. SInce my lasy name is Volk, it is too bad that I have to purchase another vehicle due to problems with my current VW.

  • brought my car to the dealership to have it repaired....again.... they said it would be some outrageous ammount so i said i would pick the car up. when i went to leave my car made it about 40 feet and died. i opened the hood and they left off the main air hose to the engine and the engine cover off. the hose was pushed next to the fan and resulting in the fan breaking. the service manager told me it was my fault because i drove it and accused me of vandalizing my own car. thanks

  • VW customer care shows very little to no interest in understanding an obvious premature failure in their product and does not stand behind it.

Dispointed in VW Customer Care 10/6/09 11:35AM

  • I bought a VW Golf- love the vehicle, at South Yarra VW. Staff, poor, manager poor, mistakes made on credit card and registration label emailed to me. Problem with vehicle regarding the electronic locking system - poor customer service. Insufficient glasses for water. Owner operator, rude stated "Did not want to sell the car to me" then why did he. What did I do - the service was poor by you - would never step foot in either servicing or sales area again. Negative feedback from me.

  • I bought a brand new VW Passat on Dec 2008, today my car has 11,501KMS. While I was driving two weeks ago with the family for holidays the car shows an alarm motor engine problems, I pull over in the highway and called the emergency customer service, to my surprise the warranty service is only cover 3 days for a replacement car while I have to stop my holidays with the family.
The worse thing that I request a service to return back home, VW warranty provide me a rented replacements car to get back home and I can’t request a replacement car for the 3 days as one day already counted according to VW customer service representative. I did asked to talk to the customer service manager and they don’t pass your call through management, as results, my car still in the garage and nobody is care about the holidays that I lost, in addition to days that I need to work but having no car.
The car is currently in the garage around 425KMS away from where I live, they don’t bring the car back to my place, and I need to lost one working day to go and pick it up.
In my opinion, this is going to be the first and last time I bought a VW Car as their customer service is the worse that I have received.

  • I love my Passat 2.0 T!!! I have enjoyed it since pulling off the lot. Oil and maintenance costs are on the higher side, however, I've been pleased with the service and support at my VW dealer in Oneonta NY. I would like to buy the CC, but will wait til its been out a little longer. Volkswagen handling and speed is AWESOME!
