Volvo assist are useless, 2023 XC90 hybrid car heater fault and told not to drive it. reported fault 9.15am yesterday and spend over 2 hours so far on hold waiting on various calls to Volvo assist, car uplifted to the dealership yesterday afternoon and car hire promised, have had to chase 4 times so far and eventually Enterprise telling me they dont have a car for me. at present stuck on another Volvo assist hold 23 minutes and counting ... love the car, but cannot recommend Volvo Assist at all

Volvo was my first leased car and I was so excited to spend more money on a better quality vehicle. Sadly, my experience was not what I anticipated. This company has been the worst, most careless and corrupt company I have dealt with thus far. Besides not accepting the return of a lemon they leased to me, I have to hire a lawyer or take them to court myself because they have been so unprofessional and gave me so much misinformation that it's been a nightmare. I'm going to sue them for more than what the car is worth.

I waited anxiously for the unveiling of the Volvo EX90,which happened today, Nov 9, 2022. For all the talk about the car's sophisticated systems, the unveiling video has an audio glitch that renders the video voiceless, while a vocalist is singing. There's only the ethereal sounds of new age music playing over her voice for 10 minutes before the audio kicks in at a random moment. I'm passionate about Volvo design, so I'm having a passionate meltdown over something that shouldn't matter.

Unacceptable and disgusting service by Volvo assist after XC90 (again!) need new injector hoses!! Let stranded and after been on and off hold for over 6 hrs in total still not resolved. Call staff actually lie to you regarding actions they will undertake.

I had side runner panels installed on my Volvo XC90 by the dealership "Volvo West Island". Immediately within the first 3 months they were covered in rust.

I returned to the dealer and they said that they would buff it out and that would resolve the issue. Unfortunately just a couple of months after that, they rusted again. The dealer opted to try and buff it again rather than replace them and again a couple of months later they rusted.

Now they are saying that they are not under warranty when in fact they should have replaced them immediately when we first complained.

These were not cheap at $2000 and should not have rusted after just a couple of months.

We are very disappointed in both the dealership and in Volvo Canada for providing a substandard product and not standing behind what they sell.

Ridiculously poor service. The Boston Village Volvo in Boston did the 50, mile check this afternoon. On the drive home something dropped out of the engine and is currently dragging on the road. The Volvo roadside assistance team said they would send a tow in THRE HOURS. What a joke. We called AAA. They came in 30 minutes. VOLVO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE IS A BOGUS OPERATION. Sorry I wasted $$$ in them.

I am writing with regard to an experience I had at a Volvo Service Center in Manasquan, NJ--service advisor, Kevin Bay.I brought my car in because the "battery charge low" indicator came on twice a couple of days before, and just wanted it to be checked out. They checked it out, and the service advisor, Kevin Bay came to me and said that the charge was a little low, and it would be up to me as to whether I wanted a new battery or not, and he continued to say, "The battery is 5 years old." I said, "But I bought my VolvoS60 3 years ago at Ramsey Volvo (I picked up my "Brand New Volvo S60 on Jan. 2, 2019). He replied, "Well, your battery is 5 years old."I ended up having a new battery installed. I asked him, as I paid my $404.17 bill, how old is this battery--he said, "Oh, it's brand new--you should be good for at least 5 years." My question is, if I bought my brand new Volvo 3 years ago, why did my Brand New car have a 2 year old battery in it? So, either Ramsey Volvo gave me a 2 year old battery or someone at Manasquan Volvo was lying to me. I received a call from a customer service rep at Manasquan Volvo, and I explained my situation--she said she would talk with Kevin Bay as soon as we got off the phone, and as of today about 2 and a half weeks later, I have never received a call back!

I lease a 2019 XC40. Last week I brought the car into Gunther Volvo in Delray FL. The car was displaying an engine light warning and running rough. Even though the car required a full day to fix no loaner was offered or provided. Today, days later the engine light warning came back on.
We tried calling at 4:45PM and could not get anyone in service to pick up.
It is frustrating enough that there are mechanical problems arising at 16K miles but the lack of service is very bothersome. I will be taking this into consideration when I make a decision about releasing in several months

This is in regards to a vehicle I purchased on March 30, 2021. It is a 2012 Volvo S60 T5. When I purchased the car it had 99,489 miles on the odometer and when the vehicle became an issue it was at 104,409 miles on the odometer.
On December 1, 2021 my husband was driving the vehicle on the highway and it stalled without warning after almost crashing into the vehicle in front of him. He was able to pull over, start the car back up and drive it home. There were no warning alerts or check engine light that came on the dashboard.
After browsing the internet, we realized that the car had a recall due to an oil consumption level issue in 2014 (Recall #R29436; National Highway Traffic Safety Administration campaign #13V592000). I contacted Volvo of North America who opened up a case (case #211203-000423) and then had the car towed to Portland Volvo in Scarborough, Maine for an appointment on December 14, 2021. On December 15, 2021 Portland Volvo informed us that the vehicle's engine was beyond repair. Later that evening I received an email from Jemmy at Volvo of NA stating that they would cover $750 of the repairs. I emailed her back asking her to wait for a quote from Portland Volvo on how much it was going to be to repair the vehicle. On December 16, 2021 I was informed by Kristen at Portland Volvo that she spoke with the district manager and that a used engine costs between $10-14,000 and that Volvo of North America has decided not to help because the car is now out of warranty but Kristen from Portland Volvo admitted it was a manufacturer's defect.
Not only has the car been seen periodically throughout its lifetime at Volvo dealerships but was seen in July 2021 due to two recalls that needed to be fixed at Volvo in Exeter, NH. They did a multi-point inspection on the car and everything passed and only 3,500 miles had been put on the car since. I have been researching this on the internet since this issue occurred and this seems to be an issue with several owners of the 2012 Volvo s60 T5 cars with engine code 62, which mine is.

Never.... NEVER... trust these people.

I leased a XC60 from Volvo, I returned the car with 1/2 of the lease mileage on it, then Volvo sent me a bill for almost $3,000! They claim this is because they had to put tires on the car but they ended up using the most expensive tires they could find. They also didn't factor in the millage that was clearly in their favor, instead of working WITH a customer they decided to do what they could to get more money from me.

After putting me on hold for 30 to 40 minutes the customer service person came back on the line and told me if I wanted to dispute the invoice I had to FAX or MAIL in a written complaint?!?!? Of course they did this to discourage people from complaining.

I have been leasing cars for decades, from BMW's to Mitsubishi's to VW's and I have never received an invoice like this after turning a car back in. I will never EVER purchase another Volvo again for the rest of my life. I would caulk it up to poor customer service but that's not the term I would use for a company that gouges their customers like this. Be warned of their "stick it to the customer" business practices!

The Alpharetta Georgia dealership at Mansel rd is poorly ran. I made an appointment at their service department 3 weeks in advance . They made me wait 2 hrs to tell me they did not have the part and they needed to order the part. When I made the appointment I asked if they need to order the part and they said no. Very frustrating.

I bought a volvo xc90 from Boston Volvo, 18 months later, I noticed significant amount of white smoke from the exhaust, so I sent it immediately to the closest dealership, Volvo Danvers, and they reported that the turbo charger failed and needs to be replaced. They could not provide a loaner car so I had to get a rental on my own. So far it has been 1 week at the dealership, no reply from Volvo whether they will cover it or not. Very poor communication and I have to drive to the dealership every day to get the usual answer (we're working on it). So far spent over 600$ on rental car fees, not mentioning the stress of not having my car. I told the dealership to just get it fixed regardless if volvo will pay for if or not, still no estimates on how much would it cost, no clear time frame on when would it be done, or which parts will need to be replaced. This is a nightmare experience from a brand promoting itself as a luxury brand that puts its customers satisfactions as a priority

They not reliable resources they just sit convince you to buy without giving you the knowledge.
Never again

Customer service could not give a damn about their customers. Car was recalled and they were unable to provide info and tried to escape potential liability regarding an accident that lined up with EXACT reason for recall. No help. Leasing customer service worse still billing me for monthly payments 6 months AFTER lease was terminated. Owned cars from Alfa, Infiniti, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Lincoln. THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST 800-NUMBER CUSTOMER SERVICE CAR COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. By the way the Boston Volvo dealer itself was one of the BEST experiences I ever had. Just PRAY that you never have to call 800-customer service.

Sorry Volvo local dealership and financial services are not of the same quality of their cars.
I am 77 years old and have had many cars over the years, some leased, some owned. I loved my 2018 Volvo S90 T6 AWD and wanted to purchase when lease expired. It had less than 30,000 miles it and was in beautiful condition. The personel at VCFS did everything but laugh at me when I was not impressed with the price they offered to purchase.I did find one on-line with less miles for almost $10,000 less! The only reason I wanted to stay with Volvo was the car itself. The local dealership is the most arrogant group of people I have ever dealt with in all my yrs, even before I could afford high end cars. When I returned the car they hardly spoke, never acknowledged they were sorry we couldn't do further business, etc. The service department rep. is not much better. So much for Anders Gustafsson wanting to provide outstanding customer service and their customer care slogan "Volvo customer care for Life." And finally why does Volvo appear to hide all their contact information for anything other than a purchase!

Volvo Car USA: Wishing the co. much success. Unfortunately our daughter (paying rent, working, paying off college loans, and volunteers at her church as youth leader) purchased a Volvo a few years ago. From the first month and on...the car-SUV was in and out of the shop-You name it, she (her mechanic) fixed it -only to have something else go wrong. We spent many thousands of dollars attempting to fix it, in hope it would finally be the end of the repairs. No such luck. Thankfully she finally paid the loan off in December, 2020. She'd been having some problems with the autoshift and had an appt. this week w/her mechanic-surprise! Last weekend we were on our way home from a funeral for my Dad/her grandfather with my elderly Mom in the car, when grey smoke began billowing out of the exhaust. Had to have the car towed to mechanic that night 83m and deal with all kinds of other issues to get everyone home/safe. Mechanic calls to say that it'll cost 2K to fix the car. She and her mechanic have been joking about finding the "closest and tallest cliff" and let it go...They've decided she should sell it for parts ? Heaven knows, it has every new part known to Man! Too bad the used mark up...down won't get her much...Now she's dealing with being without a car. This vehicle is obviously a ? ? ? Perhaps someone at Volvo could explain how something like this could happen and how it could be rectified-or maybe that's just Fantasyland. Thanx for 'listening' ? Thoughts?

Within 90 days my key no longer worked. I paid 10k in warranty and I have to pay 30% of the key replacement cost on a malfunctioning key in a car I just bought. $188. Not cool.

For the last 6 months, I have been having regular issues with my Volvo. This is completely not acceptable. I have been an avid Volvo customer for more than 10 years and I have never experienced such. For the last six months, I have been receiving an indicator requesting me to pour in 1 liter of engine oil. ( This has happened 5 times and the latest being 13 February 2018). This is completely peculiar and I have sent it to Federal Auto in Penang. No specific reasons given but have been having this issue continuously. About 2 months back, I got another indicator that the engine has overheated and I have to stop immediately. I was on a business visit to Kuala Lumpur. It caused a lot on inconvenience to me. I have now completely no confidence on the Volvo that I am driving and am very concerned on the well being of the car and my safety. I have a feeling that I am having a faulty Volvo. All the issues that I am experiencing are pertaining to the engine. The car is about 2.5 years old and I am already having these issues. I have also spoken to the local Customer Care manager. I am very disappointed with my experience with Volvo and I do not expect to have such an experience with my XC60 . I truly thought that this was a high performing car. I never expected this!!!! How can someone assist and help me. I DO NOT have any confidence on my current car. The Service center could not detect any issues. The Volvo tag line of "Volvo for life" seems to be now "Volvo truly a nuisance!". This is NOT a Volvo brand and quality that I thought of. I owned an S60 for 8 years and I NEVER faced such issues. How can my issue be rectified? I am tired to leave my car at the workshop and yet no resolution. Please HELP ME!!! This will be my last straw of action before I express my views in the Social media. Thank YOU

I bought a Volvo xc60 from from Volvo Georgetownin Georgetown Texas. It was the worst car buying experience of my entire life. Actually initially it was a breeze, yes by eveyone and yes to everything then they take your money. Then its a different story. Buyers beware of this dealership. They are liers and use unerhanded deceiving tactics. And the sales peoples supervisors do almost notning until pressured numerous times to do things that they promise. Will NEVER again buy from this dealership

Nancy and I were treated most courteously and professionally by Mr. James "Bobby" William's in the recent purchase of our 2020 Volvo XC-40. He was most courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle. He helped make the buying experience smooth and enjoyable.
He took the time to acquaint us with our vehicle and make us comfortable with its' operation.
He is a most valuable asset to Wynne Volvo and exceptional sales associate.

After 4 visits to Volvo service department @ 128 Volvo, Reading MA for the same problem which was thought to be an oil pan problem, authorization for a new engine was obtained on 5/19/16. I was placed in a loaner for the duration of the repair and was kept informed of ongoing progress. I had no complaints and was very pleased with the service. My car was returned to me in great shape except that 2 pair of sunglasses (one very expensive Tiffany's and a less expensive Kate Spade's) were missing from the center console.I have been driving Volvo's for many years and this is the first time I have ever encountered such an issue. Overall, Volvo stepped up to the plate and I received great service. Unfortunate that we all have to put up with the human condition of liberating another's belongings for ones own benefit.

Bought the dealer's car S60 (5000 miles) in 2012 and have loved this car and the excellent service we receive from the dealership. Ray at Volvo Houston (Katy Freeway) is outstanding! Highly recommend this model and this dealership. The roadside assistance was handy too (dead battery - my fault). They hauled it right to the dealer to fix.

I have a 2010 S40 Volvo and I was surprised to hear that my coverage does not apply to a leak in the car. When I purchased the car I was told anything except tires was covered for 5 years or 62,000 miles. I took the car into Primer Volvo in Watertown CT and it was confirmed that water is leaking in on the top of the front windshield. I was told this was not covered and it was suggested I go to Safety Glass and have it replaced.
This dealership was always helpful, so I was very surprised to hear that.

I needed my code for my radio and I didn't have any of my information avaliable. I didn't know my car's VIN or anything! But luckily, Volvol kept my files are record and they were able to pull everything up!
Bart was VERY friendly, nice, and very thorough with the iinstructions on how to reset my RADIO. I am very pleased with this service and cannot wait to buy another Volvo!
