I work for walmart in florence, sc on irby street store number 2703 and its crazy... they have little mice that run around every now and then, they treat the new cashiers completely different than the ones who have been there longer. they make us work harder than the old ones do and the old ones can just stand around and do some of what they want to do. seems as though no matter how hard you work and how good you are they try to find the smallest things to fault you for the CSM'S are sorry, they come when they want to come and make it seem like they have so much to do. the stocker keep putting things in the wrong places which leave us the cashiers to deal with unpleasant customers in i dont blame them at all. they make it seem like you will all get along but you find out its a lie when you start. no one is who they really seem to be. everyone is fake instead of being honest and talking to you they say things behind your back its like a huge industry HIGH SCHOOl and its really sad because i know im a good cashier and i enjoy the job but the management should just be fired completely and rebuilt ground up and this is speaking of my walmart. i can say so much more but i have other things to do.

Walmart #0348 is a very unpleasant place to work. The management is ridiculous! Especially the thing about having a time limit on the freight you have to put out! And if you don't meet the time frame they have you in the office giving you a verbal warning! It's not possible for one person to put out 2 or 3 carts of freight in an 1hr and 30 minutes. People are not robots and you can't make them work any faster than they can. They won't hire anymore help, they just try to work the crap out of the people they have. And have nerve not to pay any overtime??!!! No one wants to work for free!!! I don't know about any of the other stores, but #0348 needs a serious evaluation in their management, and a "REAL REALITY CHECK"!!!

1628 Management team treats their employees horribly. They are a group of merciful taskmasters. They have no concept of Sam Walton's 3 Basic Beliefs. "Respect for the Individual" does not exist in 1628. The Management Team can lower you pride and dignity at the drop of a hat and never give it a second thought. Even on the sales floor in front of customers is not exempt from the humiliation. The retaliation is fierce. "Customer Service" is only allowed if all other tasks are complete. The best and most favorite part of my job was exceeding my customers expectations daily. Acknowledged by my Market Manager on more than one occasion. My store manager once told me I had too much passion for my job. I just wanted create the best shopping experience possible. 1628 struggles "Striving for Excellence" This struggle will continue until 1628 Management Team would lead by example. If they would become true role models (job requirement) customers and employees would truly benefit.

Bought a bike recently at the WalMart I work at, I knew I would have to do adjustments or bring it to a bike shop. Got it home and sure enough it needed alot of tuning to the point I had to drop it off at a bike shop. Asked customer service if walmart would credit me back the $50 repair cost. They said if I brought it to them that they would fix it for free. Im not going to have them fix it when they cant even build it right. You might be wondering why I bought then if I work there, well the reviews are good but they all say to get it tuned first. I work there and make them a ton of cash and they cant even credit me back $50 for repairs. I apologize to any one who has had bad service at walmart, I always try to help the customers I run in to.

Hello, I worked at the walmart in Exton, Pa. for nearly 10-years. I always had great reviews and got many notices of excellent customer service and everything was going fine, Then we got a new store manager who was severely verbally abusive to many employees, myself, and even a mentally handicapped female employee who he would bash until she was hystericaly crying and couldn't even continue working.
Other employees told me they were afraid they would be fired if they report it, and said that i would also be fired if i report it. I told them, this is America, not some degenerate country. We have rights and laws to protect us from that and we cannot be fired for reporting wrongdoing in the workplace. They said everybody knows that walmart controls the legal system, politicians and everything with its lawyers and money. They break the law all the time and pride themselves on being able to get away with it, They will fire you if you report any wrongdoing. I thought these beliefs to be very sad, shameful, pitiful, and unAmerican. In an attempt to secure a decent, reasonable workplace for my fellow employees and I, I started reporting the abusive manager and sure enough, he began making negative comments to me about reporting him and fired me.
At that point i went to the NLRB and they filed a charge on walmart. Walmart obviously knew they were in trouble facing that charge, so they reinstated my job in exchange for dropping the charge, but then when i returned to work i was consistently subjected to much retaliation and fired twice more in a relatively short period of time do to lies being told by the same district manager who was in charge and ignored all my reports about the abusive store manager. The first subsequent firing i was able to prove was completely false and have overturned, and i then i filed another complaint with the NLRB concerning the illegal retaliation i was being subjected to since returning to work. After filing that complaint i was fired again the very next day upon showing up for work. and i am still trying to get some help with this one. I am not a kid trying to get a few extra bucks at walmart. This was my career. I was a very dedicated, loyal, hardworking employee who many people used to ask why i work so hard and care so much about my job. I am 46 years old, i have lost 10-years of my life i had invested in that company which i can never get back, and now i will surely never be able to retire in my lifetime, all due to being the one to do the right thing, put my trust and faith in our once great American system, and stand up for the right of my fellow employees and i to have a decent and reasonable workplace and report the widespread severe verbal abuse that was going on in our store. When i went back to the NLRB to report the obviously retaliatory firing, they seemed like they were going to help me, but then told me that the walmart laywer had contacted them and they no longer want to pursue the case. when i attempted to file a complaint about the obviously retaliatory illegal firing the NLRB very suspiciously dismissed it based on a bunch of false information and even slanderous, defamotory lies told to them by walmart which the NLRB had no problem recklessly printing in a government file.
As long as this type of thing is allowed to go on in America we are in a state of deterioration of everything that this country is supposed to stand for. Thank You, God bless You, and God bless America. Sincerely, Robert Snodgrass, 715 Taylor rd., Downingtown, pa. 19335

I know several workers who work for walmarts in NC. They treat their employees like crap. They give them so much to get done they can not get done. Then they get fusssed at for not getting it all done. I have made the decision that I can no longer shop at a store that treats its employees like this. I seen manaers sit around doing nothing and lines of people waiting at the register. Its time for people to step up and out of Walmart because they don't care about their customers or their employees.

Wow, and I thought I was the only one who felt Walmart treats their employees bad. If you stick up for yourself, they make it so bad for you that you just want to quit. They hire bottom feeders because they are bottom feeders. They have very little morals and lack skills to put them in professional settings. Again, Walmart, you make people sick.

Walmart, will never give total correct customer service for on reason, poor pay. Sales Associates are paid $7.80 to start and given very few hours. The average new worker takes home less than $200.00 per week. Walmart gives its workers bonus checks but it still does not ad up to more than $250.00 2 times a year for the part-time employees. The managers of the stores are mean 2436, they work people like slaves, and gossip about the employees. The managers, supervisors stand around and give orders. this very sub-standard treatment is the main reason there will never be good service in Walmart. The employees start to hate there job's but stay because there is little work in our area. And because they are not happy but afraid of the supervisor's, and when they do complain they are made out to look like fools, no brains and told that maybe they need to work someplace else. Walmart is a hard place to work for.

As a former employee of walmart in arkansas I can honestly say the managers didnt care about their employees. I went to my store manager plenty of times since we had the "open door policy" and everytime all she could say was it wasnt her problem!!!! In reality it was her fault I got sick and Im only getting sickier!!!!!!

As a former employee of Wal-Mart, I can assure you that most of the management over WM stores are HORRIBLE. It is hard for us employees to pass on great customer service when we are being unappreciated, treated like crap, and they spend a lot of their time trying to get rid of us. Sam Walton would be shocked at what Wal-Mart has turned into since his death.

Posted by Bjoh

A lot of the problem with customer service at Wal-Mart is the fault of the management and the home office. If management is treating their employees terribly, then the employees are going to pass it on to the customers.

you are all mistaken walmart is not holding your money hostage the second your order is cancelled they money if released YOUR BANK is the one that is hold your money from you at that point. All these complaints from people that have never worked a day in customer service. People make mistakes LIVE WITH IT. i don't work for walmart but i do work in a customer service job it is unforgiving and people like the ones i am seeing here are RUDE VINDICTIVE AND MEAN usually to someone that is just trying to help you while your are screaming at them for something they had nothing to do with. It is a large corporation with rule set by big wigs let the little people behind the counter have some slack while they try to help through all the red tape they have to go through to HELP YOU AND KEEP THEIR JOB.

WalMart's MasterCard Money Card does not credit Direct Deposits on the pay date on the electronic funds transfer. My pension direct deposit was electronically transmitted to WalMart on 12/25/2011, bThut as of 01/02/2012 has still not been credited to my MoneyCard. Customer Service can only say that their systems do not run on weekends, and that their systems are still updating. This has left me without money to buy food or pay bills. It will result in other companies charging me late fees, because the money I was to receive on 1/1/2012 is not available.

hey you 8/20, you are really that gullable? walmart is so great. right. and the open door you speak of. i used it and got fired. a was written up unfairly attempted to use the open door, got my job threatened by the open door and told not to call. reported this to the ethics dept, ethics dept. told me the open door personel had broken the policy and violated the non-retaliation statment and needed to be reported, when i tried to report it they wouldnt take my call. and they fired me and banned me from the store on my next work day as soon as i walkwed in w/o even giving me a reason, i called ethics back to tell them i got fired for doing exactly as they told me and they said they cant do that its totally against everything in the statment of ethics and open door policy. but they did it anyway and threatened to call the cops if i try to call the open door to dispute my termination.i worked there almost ten years and thats just the begining of all the crap they did to me. they violate labor laws as common practice, but nobody stops them cause theyre walmart.

I work at my towns local Wal-Mart for 9 months now, in the Tire Lube Express. My manager is great, the nicest manager in the store which is really saying something, considering most managers are absolutely rude and hateful. The department supervisor has personal issues he comes to work with, taking them out on his employees. He also refuses to give me the hours I need. I asked him once, and my schedule was changed to my liking for one week, and one week only. The next week my hours dropped again. I confronted him about this one day while on the clock, and he gave me a big grin and asked if I wanted to stay late. I rolled my eyes and went back to work. I have repedeadly asked upper management to give me more hours, and they tell me to speak to my supervisor. They keep making me run around in circles and I am fed up. Today we had an incident in which cashiers who were writing customers up for the wrong brand of oil. One customer had an engine which required 5w-20. The cashiers wrote her up for 10w-30 which could have destroyed her engine. After waiting 2 hours, and asking the cashier 4 times who the customer was when they would contact her, the finially pointed to the waiting room. The customer was understandably upset and accused me of trying to take advantage of her and trying to blow up her engine. I got so pissed at the incompitence of not only her but management, I lost it. I went back to speak to a mananger and after explaining to the store and assistant manager what had happened, and telling them we need better training in my department - They told me to quit letting customers get to me and sent me on my way. It is now obvious to me walmart store management doesn't care if they lose a customer. I am in the process of speaking to my neighbor to see if he can get me a job at the jiffy lube franchise he owns.

This is my second job working at my local walmart, and once again I am leaving due to undue stress and incompitence that runs rapant in all wal-mart stores.

I work at WALMART, and i went on sickleave for seizures and came back with my doctor saying i could'nt be on ladders, so WALMART told me i would have to take a lower level job and a paycut if i wanted to have any job at all. I also have been repeatedly punished by one particular manager for two trivial matters, and told if i happens again i get fired.

I work at #3751 (San Tan/Arizona.)

I want to comment on one of the employees here. Her name is Brenda and she is an Assistant Manager.

Until recently, I worked in the Garden Center, and have gone through several assistants. The Garden Center at 3751. It has no heat in the winter (it can get cold) and no air conditioning in the summer. I have seen the temperatures in the summer approach 120 degrees.

Problem is, when we call for managers, nobody wants to come out, and we could wait a long time before a manager would come out. It was a constant problem until we got Brenda.

Not only would Brenda come out just as soon as she would called, she would go out of her way to help any way she could. When it would get really hot, she would come out just to check on us. We were all amazed, having never been treated so well. We'd all felt like Wal Mart step-children until she came along.

Assistant Manager Brenda has gone to overnights now, and I have no doubt she will go out of her way there, also. Keep an eye on her - she is special!

as an ez employee of walmart. walmart in ticonderoga this is the worst bunch of management team i have ever seen in the store, they r not very friendly orientated to the customer. what happened to the ten foot rule. they dont speak to u unless u speak to them first. i worked for your company for 10 yrs and never have i seen a bunch of sour faces in this walmart. the favoritism in the store is out rageous, you have a csm that is a male and his is femine and they allow him to wear for clothes whatever he wants. shirts that r to snall and low rise jeans. as a customer now i dont want to see butt cheeks. the service has really gone down. i would appreciate my name not to be mention in this report as my husband works in the grocery section amd i dont want him to retaliated on and yes that does take place in the store. this is one of the reasons i got done for your company. i was a cashier for 10 yrs and wanted to do something different in the store and they wouldnt give me a chance somewhere else after i came back from a knee surgery so tell me that was fair to me.i wasnt gonna say anything because i have friends that work there but things have gotten out of hands here at this walmart can never find anything u want or they tell u they will try to get it and no results. u make a complaint to a manager about something and nothing gets done about it please straighten this store out.

Today I read every comment and I am amazed at the ignorance, so here I go stepping up on my soapbox. When I was hired and became a part of the WalMart family I was impressed with their orientation, training, continuing training requirements throughout employment, benefits, and opportunities for associates. I have experience working in organizations as big or bigger than WalMart, from casinos to chemical plants, and I can tell you there is a HUGE difference in the WalMart way! I have yet to see or hear of a company, until WalMart, who Allows, Promotes, or can show PROOF of employee advancements. The time frames are atypical as well, because a hard working, dedicated associate can and do reach the top in a matter of a few years rather than 20+, it is a proven FACT! What is typical for big companies is for big companies to lose good employees because they lack internal advancement capabilities or forethought. NOT AT WALMART!

Those associates who are complaining about sexual harassement, bad management, or a heavy & unreasonable work load: WalMart HAS an OPEN DOOR POLICY! What that means is, you take your issues to management UNTIL you get some relief, no matter how many doors you walk through. There ARE PEOPLE who CARE, but IF you DO NOT CARE about yourself, your profession, and your rights enough to voice your concerns, HOW is that WALMART'S Fault?? There are CBL's on sexual harassement and professionalism within the work place, as well as the open door policy that WalMart promotes. There are contacts posted on the bullentin boards everywhere for their employees! They have implemented EVERY available resource for their associates, you only need to take advantage of those resources.

Misery loves company! My issue with the bogus posts here by customers and associates is that YOU are trying to HURT my livelyhood, I LOVE my Job, and there are no benefits to you for posting all these subjective opinions other than venting, which you could do to WalMart if you truly wanted your voice heard and acknowledged.

I actually look forward to going to work during my scheduled shifts. YES, I have had associates "WARN" me that I will hate WalMart soon enough, BUT having an independent mind, knowing WHO I am, and with WalMart's help setting goals attainable for me, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt IF I get to the point of dislking my job it will have NOTHING to do with WalMart or management and EVERYTHING to do with ME! I am accountable for ME, not WalMart, not management. Hard work and perserverance is what it takes in ALL PROFESSIONS, road blocks are there to teach us, but if we refuse to SEE, we learn nothing and end up on a dead end street!

Take Responsiblity for YOUR actions and reactions PEOPLE. The issue with the world today is the quick and easy way of pointing the finger at everyone instead of reflecting on what you have contributed or not in your particular situation makes it what it is. It is much easier to play the blame game than sit up and take notice and fix your faults.

Thanks to WalMart customers because without you I would have no reason to write this post (AND THAT IS WHAT WALMART TEACHES - CUSTOMERS FIRST ALWAYS), thanks to ALL at #0575: the associates who have embraced me with positive accounts instead of negative, the managers who smile daily and truly enjoy their jobs, HR who has provided and made accessable ALL resources to make our LIVES BETTER, WalMart Co. for implementing the many benefits and opportunities available, and I thank God for having applied and been given that interview!

As an employee and customer of WalMart stores I can assure you there are those people in EVERY profession who dislike their jobs. I am apologizing for ALL associates who have disrespected, been inconsiderate, and failed to follow the Walmart family way of treating our customers and community the best! We go through orientation and are trained on many specific ideals WalMart follows, we also have continuing training throughout the year and are tested on understanding and performance. As a customer I have run across WalMart associates who I've found to be lacking, BUT in no way does that represent WalMart or their associates as a WHOLE. God Bless.

GREATFUL TO HAVE A JOB DURING THIS ROUGH ECONOMIC TIMES. MOONLIGHTING ON THE 3RD SHIFT WAITING FOR THE ECONOMY TO BOUNCE BACK SO I CAN CONTINUE MY REAL CAREER. AS AN EMPLOYEE, THE WORST JOB OF MY LIFE. THE MANAGEMENT IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL...RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED IN DEALING WITH EMPLOYEES, NO PEOPLE SKILLS, HOT TEMPERS, FAVORITISM, NOT WORTHE THEIR PAY AND BIG BONUSES...NEED I SAY MORE. WALMART IS TRULY A 21ST CENTURY PLANTATION.

I have worked for Walmart for 8 months on 3rd shift stocking ["Receiving Associate"]. I was told I was working for the "nice" Walmart and they like to keep it that way. HR needs to work a night or 2 to see how the managers bark at associates even when store is still open!!! The task managers' times are unrealistic and need to be customized to each department.
