I had to order a 7.5 gallon tank on line because they do not stock then in stores, but advertise that they do! My online order was delayed three different times i had 100 dollars of shrimp ordered and arrived but no tank because of the delay. I ordered them to arrive 7 days after the tank. So upset. Called customer service and her kid was screaming in the background, and she was no help at all.

Arianna and manager at Petco Andorra Philadelphia store banned my 9lb shih tzu with one eye after she supposedly bit her while using clippers on her face..this was embarrassing and uncalled for..seems like they are lacking training ? clippers near her mouth left bald sport and poor job
Now told she is banned from. PETCO STORES..DOG has never shown aggressive behavior...lack of training horrible

I guess I am just sad... Petco was our go-to for most pet supplies for the reptiles, Guinea pig, rats, fish, bird we purchased there. . raised our kids frequenting Petco. Now our kids are grown, my I and my husband have aged and he has developed serious cognitive/physical disability. We went in to buy a few fish to change our tank up a little, find a little joy looking at the animals.... He needed to use the restroom and we were denied, The staff said we could go next door. We were not shopping next door. I left in tears. We can't/won't come back. So hurtful.

Beware of using Petco as a pharmacy for your pets. They don't disclose that the pharmacy is closed on weekends so if you place an order on a weekend then you risk not having the medications in time. I was a 1st (and last) time customer because of exactly this issue. I placed an order with the understanding that they would "fulfill" the order in a reasonable amount of time. I'm now on day 3 and they can't even articulate when the order will be shipped. Meanwhile, my dog is out of her pain medication (to treat cancer symptoms) and my vet can't fulfill an interim prescription because it's tied up with Petco.therefore , I can't get the drug until Petco decides to fulfill the order. So much for an organization that is supposed to support animals. I called customer service and was hung up on 3xs when I asked to speak to a manager to help cancel the order. I was lied to multiple times by customer service and the story changed depending on who you spoke to (clearly training is needed so they can get their stories straight). I only requested one of the scrips to be cancelled ($40) So, for an order of $49 they lost a customer for life. That's really sad that a business is that desperate for money with a total disregard for my dog. I would be ashamed to work for an organization that places their value on the bottom line. I hope the &40 was worth the better business review that will follow this.

Hi Petco, I like Petco but the APP is always malfunctioning. I cannot change the date on repeat delivery. Or something else won't work. Twice I haven't received my whole delivery. Can you please make your APP more user friendly. I'm getting frustrated and may have to change to different pet store if things don't get better. Also train customer service on APP.I frequently get the " Rot Ro something is wrong", customer service had NO idea what I was talking about. Just a few of many things wrong with APP

Ordered some Dentastix (4 varieties) on 2/21/24 Order was not sent to Fedex until 2/24/24
I contacted Petco 3 times only to get the run around. Money was taken for order on 2/21/24. I was told wait a day Waited a day contacted petco again Nope have to wait until 3/8/24 for refund. This is a disgusting company with poor leadership and poor ethics toward their customers. Take the money & run. Never doing anything with petco or any company that uses fedex as a shipper Worst experience ever! they should have a negative rating!

Went to Petco today to buy some larger shells for my granson's Hermit Crabs. I have tried for 6 months to purchase some from this store. A very rude man told me they were out of them. I said I've been coming here for 6 months looking for shells and you never have them. His response was, "you can always order online." I responded, "maybe I don't want to order online." He said, "That's your problem." I told him he was rude and if I ordered online it would be with Amazon. This happened in the Ranson, WV store and all I have to say is FREDDIE- you should not be a manager because you lack empathy and could care less if a customer is not happy. Won't shop at any Petco!!

I was disappointed with the Petco vital care dog food savings plan. It is cumbersome to download the points and was at best a breakeven monetarily. But what makes me angry is the time it took to call the number to discontinue my membership. Despite what the website says, you cannot cancel online. I had to call 877-738-6742 to cancel.

I would like to know what is the story with charging "tip" for a delivery as part of the charge. I never noticed it until I opened my delivery that I thought was free. I am not happy. The tip I was charged for an item that was $110 was $19.80. That is crazy!

Life jacket never kept my dog a float he almost drowned and petco wouldn't help told me to call Canadian tire who in turn told
Me to call petco

Danilo A. for petco's customer service has 0 customer service experience. Does not answer any of your questions, is rude and repeats the same generic petco message over and over again. Literally has no empathy nor care in the world to actually help you or anybody else.

Specifically Salem Nh . Supposedly The manager PePe called and said to come get our 11 month old cockapoo he was nipping at her . And to bring him to the vets to finish up. He's 10 lbs the most friendliest puppy. He's covered in razor burns . Tow nail bleeding and patches and 2 legs not even touched . If he was getting rambunctious it's because she was hurting him if I could send pictures you'd see I'm not joking. By far the worst employee and so called manager Ive ever delt with . DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS THERE FOR GROOMING. You pay peanuts! You get monkeys !

Petco's app SUCKS! Tired of looking at numbers meaning once I opened up the messages should have gone away. Nope been looking at 3 on Petco but can't figure out how to make go away? Took it to Petco and they couldn't even do it. Called customer support twice no response no reply. I should have just deleted it but decided just to hide it. I don't need help with vaccines, vet services, toys etc. This should not be forced upon me and yet here we are. Who ever design the apps sucks. Makes me so me so mad I will probably just find another groomer.

I bought this from Petco
Natural Dog Company Skin & Coat Oil for Dogs. The company gives you 60 days for a refund if it doesn't work, Petco only gives you 30 days if it doesn't work. And refused to at least give me partial refund for half the container back do not recommend will never buy from Petco again

We went to Petco looking for a specific items because the other stores were out of it, and we were disappointed in the customer service we waited ten minutes for someone to even come up to the the register to help us. In addition the item we purchased could of fit into a bag and the cashier stated a bag will cost you. Wow I get Aldi's as their prices are more reasonable than the larger food stores, but Petco is as if not more expensive so we will never return here again, we will order online or go to one of the several other stores in our area. We will also share this with our friends and clients

I am a constant customer Petco in Rutland vt and am so impressed by an emoyee named Richard..he is so very in tune to customer needs and wants and of course very knowledgeable about the fish, feeding, supplies etc. And I am sure hecis as well with all other customer needs and wants. He spends time to explain what would work for me in my aquariums and I recently brought my 13 year old grandson in for purchase of and advice of fish for his aquarium..Richard was so excellent he actually made the decision of fish and their environment an entire educating experience for my grandson who raved about Richard and the advice he offered when he got home to his parents..I would highly recommend Petco..Rutland Vt. To everyone and especially Richard their employee who I always search out and recommend to frie..that store is #1 in my book

I called customer service after ordering 15 plants on the buy 3 get 1 free. Only received 12 plus there customer service is arguing that you need to order 4 to receive the free set. First I didn't even receive my whole order of 15 and then they want to blame there 3rd party vendor. Hey last I looked it said petco on the website so why would petco expect me to answer to a third party instead of them living up to there errors. Your petco so you deal with your 3rd party vendor not me. This is what there customer service supervisor said to me. Customer service is terrible here and they put protocols and 3rd party vendors of there's over customers. Petco and there dealing with suppliers or who ever should not effect the customer.

Petco grommer and manager refused to accept my vaccine recipt because it did not state when my next vaccine was due and the recipe from my vet states its a 3 year vaccine. Waited 2 months for appointment. Ben going to grommer for 3 years .Not nice .not accommodating

Today I was in a Petco in Denver Colorado and the manager Leslie was very rude I did not know there was a 30-day return policy she never said I'm sorry we can't take the return she just said "there's nothing we can do for you" I had probably $150 worth of other items in my cart that I was going to purchase and I said just take it all back I'm not going to shop here anymore and she said "okay' so that was not professional and not good customer service. I was appalled that her attitude.

I've waited 12 days and now on second order to receive cat food for my 12 year old cat who only eats this type of food. Company is incredibly incompetatent and cruel.

PetCo is the worst in animal care. I saw a at least one year old Guinea pig was kept in small glass enclosure with limited amount of hay pieces in a small bowl. He is struggling to get water because the notch of water bowl is almost tough the ground and he could not drink water with his body size. Although I told the staff there, they seem not to be concerned. Two days after, I went there again and saw him at the same condition. I decided to brought him home to save him from his terrible condition that PetCo is putting him through. Worst of all I found out, that one year old Guinea pig does not even recognize the free vegetable as treats. He did not eat any vegetables for two days except for pellets and hay. It is not because he is shy or cautious in new environment not eating veggies, it is because he seemed never got any vegetables in his life at pet store. The worst Pet Store ever. Should get sued for animal cruelty.

Beware of ordering online for this place and check your payment method after you receive your shipment. Part of my order was missing, and they double-billed me for the same order. I never received any message that there were items I had ordered that were not going to ship. You don't find that out till you receive your package. When contacting them about being doubled bill I'm told they will look into it and get to me. Never heard from them again. I'm done with Petco this was my first order and it is going to be my last I'll never place an order with them again.

Today, I brought my small dog to the Northridge grooming area, as a walk-in, asking if
I could get my dog's nails trimmed. It was about 3:15pm, and the one dog grommer there told me they were too busy, sorry, but didn't offer me a time I could return for this
service. The thing is, when you turn down a 10 minute nail trim, you lose about $20 bucks
a customer like myself would pay to have this service done. And since I was turned away,
I probably wont come back for this service, and I have three dogs. thank you, Jill Berg

Very bad service

The manager of this store was not helpful at all and told me that they would call me on Monday but that was two days ago. I was going to get a refund about dog training as they did not tell us and the other customers that we had a group training I thought that it was individual training they also just stood there and told us what to do but they are supposed do show us how to do it and do it with them at home over all 5 out of 10 stars would not recommend for dog training.

Excellent business/shopping experience. Gabriel the GM for the Clovis Ca store helped me select the correct/right medical neck collar for my wife's dog. Fit and worked perfect. No Road cones for her dog. While there I met the visiting DM Sandy. Wow what a great group of people. The DM was on the floor helping customers, engaging employee's and stocking inventory. My wife had a poor experience with the grooming dept. The DM invited me to go watch their certified groomer Steve. He was grooming a Standard Poodle. Excellent skill and you could tell he was serious about what he was doing. Need to give them another chance.

I have recently been to the Columbia Crossing store several times for aquarium supplies. While all the staff has been immediately helpful and knowledgeable, Anna was a standout.
Thank you!

I recently had to have my beloved cat Lucky put sleep. I called Petco to have my repeat order canceled (after 5/years of service). The customer service person I spoke to when canceling my order was extremely helpful and so kind. I will get another cat someday and I will return to Petco for my repeat orders. They are an outstanding company to work with in my book. Thank you Petco.

Wonderful customer service! I was pleasantly greeted upon entering. I made my selection and was helped at the register by Nikki. She kindly explained the Vital Care membership. I'd never had it explained so clearly! She walked me through the app and all the benefits of joining! Such a pleasant experience!

I made an appointment to have a tooth checked on my dog,but I got a message to register online they were going to charge me $19.99 monthly. I had to cancel because I cannot afford to pay $19.99 monthly when all I wanted was to have the tooth checked. I don't do a lot of shopping there and she is up to date on all the shots. Now why would they charge for something where you are not buying a lot of items and don't take your dog to the vet for services.

I had occasion to be at Petco in Vero Beach, FL and was helped by a gentleman named Jeremy. Jeremy was not only an attractive man but extremely patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and just plain nice. I would not be surprised if he became a manager cause he has a great sense of business.

I just wanted to say, your customer service is awesome, I was sent the wrong flavor cat food today on my auto ship, I chatted with your wonderful customer service reps, they are shipping me the right flavor Whole Hearted cat food and letting me donate the one that was sent to my local shelter. I love that. My cats also love your Whole Hearted food, one is super picky, but loves any of the fish varieties you have, and it's very economical. I appreciate that. Thank you again for the wonderful customer service and products.

I took a pretty bad fall in front of your store on Indian Bend in Scottsdale today (through no fault of yours). A customer drove up, helped me up and put my bags in my car. Her daughter went into the store and your employee, Anna, came out to help me. She showed me where the restroom was to clean up. She then put a large bandaid on my arm and asked me if I needed another one. Needless to say she was absolutely wonderful. I just wanted to thank her and your store for being so helpful!

I called customer service to discuss a shipping surcharge for a repeat delivery on an item I wanted to purchase. She was very helpful and offered to provide me with a courtesy coupon to apply towards my initial order. She walked me though the entire process from applying the discount to placing the order. I was very pleased with this experience! Thank you Petco!

We thought there had been a mistake made in the ringing up of our bill. Bobby at sotre 1466 on FM 1960 E in Humble, TX 77346 was patient and professional. He walked us through it. It was then that we understood there had been no mistake. The bill was correct.

Thank you, Bobby and thanks also to Alfred the checkout clerk.

I think your employee at the Hampton, VA store needs to be recognized. I took my dog there to have her nails trimmed. Due to my dog being 17, deaf & blind i dont take her for grooming because we try not to stress her out. Since they were slow & able to give her a bath & trim right away i decided to do it. I stayed close by incase she got upset. I observed the process without them being aware. I am told the groomer that worked with her was named Sidney, i am hoping that was correct. She needs to be recognized for her incredible service. She talked with me about her elderly dog who had very similar skin allergies etc as mine. She was very loving and caring towards Mia (my shih-tzu) i observed her hugging Mia, giving her kisses & loving on her throughout the process. I was so incredibly touched by her care for my dog that I will recommend her to everyone I can. When someone knows they are being watched they tend to act differently. The fact she didnt know i was observing and was so loving and caring towards Mia showed me she genuinely cared, understood my concerns with keeping her from being stressed out & really trwated her as if she was her own. My Mia means the world to our family so Sidney's customer service was incredible & she needs to be recognized for it. Most folks only contact places to complain but I am contacting you to recognize this young lady. She blessed my heart beyond measure and she will be the only person i will trust with my dog when she needs another grooming visit. Please make sure she is given a copy of this as well as making sure she is commended. Sidney, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you are truly a blessing to us. God bless you.

Sincerely.

MiaGrace Brodersen & her humans, Dana & Andrew Brodersen.

I frequently visits the petco in Slidell Mississippi and 2 employees stand out. Chelsea and believe the other girls name is Monica .
Chelsea is always very pleasant and informative in regards to what I am looking for at the time.
Monica ( mainly the sly water fish dept) is so kind and willing to go out of her way to assist me. It is employees like this that keep me coming back due to the friendly and helpful environment that make each visit pleasant.

I recently made a phone call to your Alton Illinois store a young man by the name of Ryan I believe helped me on the phone. I have never in my life receive so much good information on products and about products from a person at any store in my total life as I did from this young man Ryan he is a plethora of knowledge. Companies should employ people like this more often and give them incentives to stay his help was extraordinary

Hi i was shopping in a petco store this afternoon. The customer service at the petco in the camila shopping center was out standing. The young man who helped me his name is Derek and very knowledgeable and very very nice. A lady by the name of Karen also was helping me to pick a good dog food for my dog Hatchi. Hatchi is very thin and Karen told me that he needs more protein and to feed him 2 times a day instead of only once. My dog took to both of them immediately and for me that was a great feeling. Thank u thank u and a million times thank u. Erin

My husband and I went to Petco the other day very excited about the huge sale on the crates. Much to our dismay the Manager informed us that online prices are different than store prices. He took some money off the crate because we were very upset, and felt misled by the company. He then went on to help us with our new puppy in every way possible. His name is Greg, and it's at store #2510. I can tell you folks he now has a customer for life! In this day and age you never see customer service anymore, or at least not at this level. Greg is a great guy who helped us in every way possible, and is a credit to your reputation.

I absolutely love going into Petco. The service is wonderful and the associates are amazing. Today Ian and Matt was with me, how they both treated not only my pups Ridley and Ruby, one rambunctious and the other so so timid and shy... Today Ian took his time and worked with Ruby and built her trust and she let him pet him. My heart was just so happy.. She let Mat as well pet her. Not only did they pay attention to how they were, they paid attention to me as well.. I can't tell you how proud I am of my girls and how happy I am every time I go into Petco to have the best service ever. Thank you for a wonderful staff.

Used the grooming section as we always do and the service by Kim is always great. When we go to pay for the grooming the cashiers are always very polite and helpful.

As a former employee in a petco grooming salon, I can say they often do not follow saftey guidelines, putting pets at risk, but theyre also very rude to customers and fellow employees alike often using the intercom as away to avoid talkative customers by calling each other to office, salon etc. Poorly run establishment to say the least.

Kaylee is a dog trainer for Petco in Warrenton Oregon. It is a shame that the store there does not appreciate their associates. They made it impossible for her to get any business as a trainer after she transferred hundreds of miles to be at their store. They cut her hours to 8 a week and made it impossible for her to sell classes. She was a top performer at her previous store in Idaho, but this store does not put any value on its associates. Instead they are top heavy in management and have the I don't care attitude. It is a shame to see such a dedicated employee leave this company. I personally will spread the word of the injustice that has taken part in this store and make sure I never visit it again. How can a company put up with this kind of policy? How can this company spend money to train someone, then force them out? Shame on you!!

I was hired at Petco 11 years ago. I got a good job offer from a different store so I gave my notice. I told a customer that I will leave and some more personal information. I had two more days left at Petco but then got fired from my GM because of the information I gave a customer. Now that is strange to me because the grooming manager was abusing dogs about 1 1/2 years ago. I do not think she got reported to Petco and got only a little talk with the GM.
She kept her job and her position as Grooming Manager.
Animals are first, right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess not. Only the money they may loose from a customer.
I hope the big guys will read this and think about what is more important. I was hired at Petco 11 years ago. I got a good job offer from a different store so I gave my notice. I have been a very loyal Petco customer and PALS member since 2007. Two months ago, after submitting an application to every Petco in Seattle, I finally got hired onto the Petco staff at Aurora Village in Shoreline, WA, as a part-time sales associate. The manager in charge of hiring me knew that I lived in South Seattle and that it was quite a commute for me to get to work, but it was something I was prepared to make because I desperately needed a job.

It didn't take long at all for my morale to hit the crapper during my employment at this store. First, after being sent home for a customer complaint regarding my strong fragrance, I stopped wearing scented products to work altogether and yet continued to receive complaints from the RGM, Tammy Carlson, about some so-called phantom smell that she swore I was responsible for. I was told that I'd need to contact her to explain how I was no longer wearing any fragrances to work, but when I managed to get a hold of her on one of my days off last week, she couldn't even be bothered to talk to me to hear what I had to say. She blew me off and referred me to another manager, who ended up not even having much to say to me on the matter after I was pulled into the office on my next scheduled shift. In addition to other examples of interactions I've had with the RGM, I can't help but feel that I'm being targeted for some covert harassment, possibly due to the fact that I appreciate a greater depth of understanding of the processes of Petco than the upper management's prepared to give. They seem to feel their authority's being questioned, but I'm a college-educated adult who needs more than a simple command to be able to function effectively on the job. I like to know why things are the way they are.

Second of all, I've now had three different occasions on which my schedule was changed and I wasn't even notified. One day last week, I showed up to work at 1:30 and saw that the schedule had been changed to have me start at 4:30. Today, I got all the way into work only to discover that I was no longer scheduled to work at all this evening. Imagine the frustration of being a loyal Petco customer and new employee who thought she was working as part of a team and discovering that the upper management can't even be bothered to spare a smidgen of respect for the commute some of us have to make. The schedule was put out last Wednesday, which I made note of, and then was changed on Thursday, the first of four days off for me. According to one of the managers on duty, Tammy should have at least contacted me to let me know of the schedule change. It would have been a simple act of decency that would have greatly earned my respect for the leadership of the RGM. Instead, it just confirmed my suspicions of her generally substandard leadership ability and the fact that she seems to give preferential treatment to those employees she gets along best with.

See, as a long-time Petco customer, I now get to see the other side of the curtain. The facade of customer service, at least at this store, leads me to believe that it is not the type of establishment that I need to continue to give my loyalty to. If this is how they treat their employees at the Aurora Village Petco, then how can I believe that I'm actually receiving genuinely good customer service? It's all fake, after all. Perhaps they only hired me because I'm a veteran of the United States Navy and Petco receives some kind of a tax break for hiring vets. What a way to treat a veteran, Petco!

I was the cadm at staunton petco store 2862. I went in on a very snowy day to unload the truck, which was driven by a woman that said she had 'never' delivered for petco before & was very upset that the pallets were stacked so heavy and tall.the cashier & her husband arrived before the store opened and came in, the husband ask could he help put pallets in backroom as he seen how we were struggling. only thinking that we were struggling and wanted to get truck unloaded I said yes. Little did I know that I would be terminated for this action. My gm says because he was a non-petco employee and it was a liability..so, let me ask, a few months before this, my gm allowed my husband to come in the store and put a shelf over the water fountain & also take the sale stand 'home' and fix it {which is a petco fixture}..isn't that the same thing?? He is not a petco employee, and anything could of happened...I think there needs to be more consistency in the store on following P & P..everyone should be treated equal, including the GM...Maybe this is something that should be looked into. I will be contacting my lawyer on this issue, as unloading the truck is not even 'my' job description.

I am currently "laid off" from the petco I work at. Keep in mind this store is new. There is not another pet store within 25 miles. Their excuse, the advertising department hasn't got our fliers in the news paper yet, so people 4 miles from us don't know we are there. 14 people were hired to open the new store. They laid off 7 within the first 90 days. The bad thing is there are constantly customers complaining about no knowledgeable person in aquatics, except me. Yet I'm still laid off. This store is going to fail to petsmart before long, and petsmart is 30 miles away. Nice company

I am a former General Manager that worked for PETCO for almost 3 years. The reason I left was because of the cutbacks in staffing. Cutbacks in staffing caused POOR customer service. There were many times that my store had to run on 3 people with me being one of the 3. Heaven forbid that someone was sick and couldn't make their shift. So that leaves one cashier, one person in reptiles/aquatics, and one person in small animals/birds. When it was breaktime, or lunchtime that left two people in the store. You can do the math if we had more than 2 customers. My store did 75k a week in sales, so it was often that we ran into this problem. No it wasn't a scheduling problem, it was an hours problem. PETCO didn't and still doesn't give the stores enough hours to run their business so that it can have happy satisfied repeat customers. Bottom line is PETCO only cares about the Bottom Line!

Petco is the most underhanded company to ever work for. They promice you a job then give you the run around. Once I contacted corprate office my son was given a job, then turned around about one month later and fired him stating sexual misconduct and slandering the company both of witch are NOT true. The manager of the local store Tammy Jones tried to go behind my sons back to get someone to write a statement stating sexual misconduct and the female employee told the manager she was not being sexual harrassment. Tammy wrote my son up when someone else was telling a story about how funny my son was and thats when Tammy wrote hin up. As for the slandering of the company he posted a comment on facebook that stated he needed a ride to get to the store for a meeting and could not get there and he stated "way to go petco" what a what to take care of your employees".He evcen called anr was told he would get written up if he did not show up. The way I see this is Tammy was called on the carpet for promsing to hire him then go back on her word, she even went as far as telling the groomimg manager to only work him 4 hrs a week. She was looking for a reason to fire him and when I called corperate to discuss the matter I was told a district manager would contact me and its been over 7 days and not call to discuss this. When I contacted corperate today the girl was rude and hung up on me. I even told corperate how Tammy spent several hrs in a mens bathroom with her ex husband while at work, do you think thats professional?? I surely don't. Petco will NEVER receive any further business from me and I will certainly tell all my friends how employees as treated.I hope this local petco goes under and closes thwe store!!!!

It makes me laugh how people will pitch a complaint because of a bad experience at ONE store. If you go to any retailer and have a huge complaint, odds are, one of their other stores you won't have that problem. Any retailer obviously won't tell you that their policies often go by the book, but more likely than not, are based on the on-duty manager's judgment. Exceptions can be made, but if you, the consumer, are rude, irate, come in with an attitude, or flip out on them, they'll pretty much tell you to go eff yourself with an apologetic tone cause you pissed them off. Inside, they don't want to help someone who is an a**hole. Show some compassion and more than likely, the store may be willing to do something to help you. Flying off the handle gets you nowhere.
