FPL surgeshield is a scam. Had a surge that caused damage to my a/c. September5, 2022....
$250 repair. Submitted documentation for the repair with the a/c company filling out the durgeshield form. 2 months later fpl refuses to pay. They want more information.

FP&L can do what they because they have the PSC in their pocket.If FPL was like gas stations one at every corner they would not be jacking their customers with monthly rate increases.

The Fpl Account Was In My Roommate's Name. She Evacuated For Hurricane Ian, And Has Not Returned. She Never Paid The Bill So My Power Was Shut Off! I Stayed Through The Hurricane. In Order To Get Power Back On, I Was Forced To Open A New Account For The Same Address. Fpl Demanded I Pay A Deposit Of $297.25 Immediately In Order To Restore Any Power! I Am A Senior Citizen On Limited Social Security Retirement Benefits. This Deposit Was Too Much For My Budget Income!!! Fpl Was Extremely Rude And Demanding Leaving Me No Choice! My Well Water Needs Electricity To Produce Water. I Would Have Been Left With No Power And No Water! I Will Be Reporting This Price Gouging To The Florida State Attorney General's Office! I Needed Time To Contact An Agency To Help Me With Payment Of Deposit. I Have Had Previous Accounts With Fpl In Different Counties In Fl, And Always Paid My Bill! This Was A Ridiculous Amount Of Deposit For A Senior Citizen To Pay. This Is Crimes Against The Aging!

I had my payment returning on Fpl Mistake from bank. Can show bank refund their mistake back to me. called FPL show them the mistake and ask for their charge to be withdrawn. FPL said no because Because i made payment extension this year they would not refine even with proof, i'm a widow take a vantage of us poor

Absolutely useless website that does not function at all.
Pointless junk and stock photos litter the site and no functions work at all....literally site is frozen and non functional.
Fix your website or take it down and fire your webmasters.

The surge protector is worthless! It does NOT protect your home in case of a lightning strike. In August 2022 we had a trimendous lightning strike. Knocked out 2 TV, audio system, alarm system electronic, outdoor lightning, dishwasher, and so on
FPL denied it was a surge because of the lightning strike.
FPL denied payment.
Hope I can help others not to fall for this scam!

FPL contractors (MasTec) damaged my new paver driveway when installing curbside transformers. Have been struggling to get anyone from either company to correct. FPL automated service gives me the supervisor contact number for my area, who no longer works for FPL. Most the MasTec employees don't speak English and those that do defer me to FPL underground services...which gives me the run around.

Cracked sidewalk and damaged pavers will cost be a couple thousand dollars.

Can't ever get through to someone. And they also kept my security deposit when service was shut off. And still billed me more than what was owed.

You all need to change your policy as far as bill payment being due having a disconnect notice after 20 days is ridiculous I can see if a bill is past 30 days then send out a disconnect notice but after 20 days you all need to change that policy!

Really FPL corp. Calls me to tell me to apply for assistance so they can vet there deposit the putring on me iam a disabled veteren o. A fixed income FPL should be ashmed of them selfs they are the worst company to deal wilth

Horrible customer service! I sent payment but was not applied to my account. When I FINALLY got through to a live agent he was rude and not helpful. Too bad they have no competition:(.

On 9/28/22 Hurricane Ian came through Florida. I live in Satellite Beach, Fl. There is a street light across the street from my home where 2 streets intersect. The street light went off at 4am and has not worked since then. My power went off, after the storm had passed, for 10 hours. The street light was not repaired. I have reported it and checked the status of the light since then. FPL claims all power has been restored. Please repair the street light on 4th Avenue in Satellite Beach. Halloween is coming and there will be children walking in the dark. This light went out in October a year or 2 ago. It took several calls to get it repaired, Street lights are added to streets for safety reasons and they need to be on at night. Thank you.

Absolute worst power company website for outages I have ever seen. I cannot find out if 217 64 street Holmes beach is with or without power. I have been out there 3 times this week to check beach house for power because the FPL website tells me nothing. You need some better and more efficient programming staff cause what you have now is the worst. So much information on your site is useless and something important such as outage information, I cannot find. Fix your freakin WebSite!

Paid almost over 200 a year for surge protection that destroyed a refrigerator, tv, multiple lights and gfci outlets due to surge. Customer service depreciates the units and the service charge to have someone asses damage is as much as they would pay if you jump through all the fences. Read the fine print, per customer service. Very costly, do not recommend.

Why is my usage down but my bill skyrocketing and now it's been 3 days in at my house and along this rd with No power or water. I have 2 children and animals along with me who has had 4 surgeries and needs to be able to clean my wounds. My neighbor beside me is fighting cancer. I have seen an spoken to many people with the company but not one finger is lifted to fix the issue that me and mine have told FPL about since moving in our home almost 4 years ago. We live on Bowling Green Drive in Fort Pierce 34951. When are you all going to make this right?

33 hours without power in the heat is too long for the elderly and children. We are a small condominium complex right next to the Orlando Sanford airport every single stoplight and house around us has power but we do not. Your reporting is also wrong it states that I receive my power on and that my meter is running at 5:22 today. I am sitting in a hot house with no power and if my meter is running I'm not going to pay for service that I don't get. I have not seen one of your repair trucks in my area so how did you turn all the lights around on me except for this condominium complex. I know it doesn't affect you but there is an 82-year-old person living here as well as a six month old we need power and it should never take this long hurricane or not because our area is not flooded it is not inaccessible this is totally ridiculous to be surrounded by others that have power and be the only complex that does not. I suggest that you review and remediate your emergency plans so that this does not happen again as many of the residents in the complex do not want FPL when we are ignored and those who are 500 feet from us have their power

FPL says in its alert that it is taking care of critical infrastructure first along with emergency services! My question is how long should that take and did you bring help from out of state to meet the demand. Twice now a power line is laying across our back yard. This is simple you take my money every month. It's never been late you!!! You raise your rates and the infrastructure were I live is never improved or replaced!!! I have no choice and FPL is going to be reimbursed from the government for much of the emergency repairs! Again no issue!!! But what about getting my power up! What about all the customers that pay!!! What about all the food, time we can't stay at our house!!! What about those cost!!! What about having to prep is it going to be 10 days like last time because of the old infrastructure!!! How is it that I have to eat this cost and if I say anything I am a KAREN!!! Because all I want to do is air my grievance!!! Who can I say it to that it would be heard!!!FPL simple has no accountability and their executives should be fired for incompetence!!! They sure as hell don't care about me and my family!!! Signed every paying customer ever!!!!

Waayyyyy too slow at restoring power. This is unbelievably ridiculous they have more than enough crews and they are literally taking their sweet time, it also doesn't seem to matter if you have a child. Oh but believe that if you owe them money they don't waste any time shutting power off. I have called so many times and they give me no answers basically just wish and hope that you get your power turned back on after a storm. Yeah thanks that's comforting!!!

I paid my bill on time for 2 years. Now for the last few months, I've paid late but never once been disconnected. All of a sudden I need to put down a $400 deposit. It's like being kicked while you're already down. Obviously I'm struggling to pay my bills but now I need to come up with an extra $400 for a deposit for a service that I have no other options or alternatives. Terrible company legalized Monopoly b*******

Why are you advertising? We have no choice. Take the ads down and give the money back to the customers that have no choice, the ads make you look better as you prices rise astronomically? That's like rubbing salt in the wound. Take them down.
