Customer Service Scoreboard
I've been on HOLD now for an hour, 45 minutes and still am waiting for RIDGID CUSTOMER SERVICE in "cue" because I'm wondering when I'll get the replacement battery I should have received a month ago by now. What a setup!!! This isn't the first time. What else can you do but wait? They don't seem to reply to my emails either.
I am very disappointed with your crappy customer service. I have tried for 2 days now. I have emailed you with all the information about my problem with no response from you. I have waited on the phone with nothing but saying you have more than average call volume. If this is how you show how you value my business then that tells the story.
I have been a loyal customer for 2 decades. With several decades under my belt i have made countless recommendations to others about your brand as opposed the other popular ones in Home Depot. Mainly the R, D and M brands The lifetime warranty is getting to look like it is worthless. I have been waiting for years for replacement batteries which have never arrived. Has not been a problem because I have many. I have spent COUNTLESS hours on hold trying to speak with someone. The "LIVE" chat took 30 minutes to get a response only to be disconnected on my second question. Time is money to us working guys and gals. We do not have time during the day for this kind of nonsense. At my, or others, billable rate we should just go out and buy another tool or battery. I have had my table saw for years. It took me an entire day being sick to get ANYWHERE with trying to get it repaired, only to find out San Antonio ,which has a population of over 2 million, does not have a service center. Now I have to take 2 more days off, travel to another city or pay to have it shipped. What is that amount of lost work time worth. Is there not a better way of taking care of your customers?
I purchased 4 RIDGID 18v power tools and two batteries from Home Depot because of the advertised lifetime warranty. Home Depot stopped being a repair facility. RIDGID only has one repaid facility 25 miles from me and they plan to close. When trying to contact RIDGID customer svc, I have experienced extremely long hold times. Home Depot, before closing repairs, gave me a replacement battery for a battery that was lost during a repair. RIDGID told me that battery is not warranties because I did not purchase it? Beware of the problems using the lifetime warranty.
Rigid warranty was good 3 years ago Now it totally sucks I don't know what's going on with The company. The nearest place to get my tools repaired is 300 miles away. My charger's just went Down I have been trying to deal with them for 3 months but I don't have new ones. I think this company's going under Time to switch to Milwaukee
I bought the ridgid 18v brushless 7 1/4 circular saw in a kit with the jig saw. The jig saw seems to work ok so far. The circular saw binds extremely easy when cutting a simple 2x4 with a new blade and a fresh battery. it complete stops like it ran out of battery power. No load up or attempt to kick back. I have an old 6 1/2 that I tried wiht the same battery and a dull blade an it is difficult to make this saw bind and stop and it definitely loads up. I tried to return the saw and Home depot told me I had to return both with the kit. I did and got new saws. Same exact issue with the circular saw. It would probably make a good paper weight as it is also on the heavy side. sad day when a 10 year old smaller saw can do a better job than a new brushless.
The guard on my MS1065LZ miter literally exploded ! No, I am not an idiot that does know how to use tools! Been using machinery for 50+ years.I called Ridgid for parts, but was told the parts were not available anymore. They said they had to file a safety report because it was a safety guard. When I talked to the service center about this they said that was the procedure they follow. Then they told me that if they can't get the parts they will replace the saw. The report has been filed for over 5 weeks now and have heard nothing. WHen I call or email anyone they will not return a call or email. This is very unprofessional and very poor support on the part of Ridgid. Why don't they answer any communications and they protect the safety department like they are too good to speak with anyone.
I have been trying for 2 days to arrange a replacement battery under your lifetime battery replacement program. I frustratingly find It is impossible to navigate both your web page to do this, your chat program, and your phone system. If this is a designed in feature you have accomplished making it impossible to arrange a replacement.
Below is the dead battery in question:
BATTERY, 18V 1.5AH
Model Name: 130183040
Serial Number: CS18065N521125
Registered: Jun-18-2018
Purchased: Jun-16-2018

I bought a rigid plainer and the weld broke on base plate therefore would not raise or lower I keep my tools oiled and greased after each use I live on the gulf and salt air will do number on them anyway sent my plainer in for (lifetime warranty) repair only 2year use well there was oil on it and a little rust for those 2reasons my warranty was voided and they wanted 487$ to repair a 500$ plainer and no plastic is covered on the warranty I will by from harbor freight before I buy another rigid .
I had a Ridgid Wet/Dry vac before and had to buy a new one, I will never buy another one until they fix the water problem coming out from the blow hole, I returned and the same thing happened. I am in need of a new wet/dry vac and I am looking elsewhere. Also on my first one was a built in handle on the bottom to lift and empty which was nice as well as the drain plug in the front. I hope you can resolve this issue so you do get other complaints.
Have my first Ridgid tool of many to fail that is registered with their lifetime warranty. I've spend an hour trying on their website, chat, and phone to file a claim. It's impossible! The website is a joke and the links for file a claim simply don't work. Nobody answers on the chat, and unless you want to try and wait several hours the support line is also a joke. What shame that the tools they make are great but their service is so bad? Very poor business practices that lead to a bad reputation.
I have been receiving a bill from FedEx for taxes and duties owed for a replacement tool under the LSA agreement sent by Ridgid. I have an email from Ridgid stating that I am not responsible for the charge. I cannot get anyone at Ridgid to resolve the issue. I have received 3 invoices from FedEx now. July, August and September 2022. I have spoken to 3 different people at Ridgid. I have left a voice mail at a managers number. I have not received any help.
Ridgid's customer service doesn't seem to care.
I have tried to resolve this with them over the phone and emails countless times, and no satisfaction.
I will never buy another tool from Ridgid again.
Ridgid is a brand to totally avoid the life time gaurantee is a scam , it is printed on each and every box ? So ? It is valid ( if you regester the tool) ? If you do not register the tool , you have nothing ? Ok , now try to register it on line, the site will not work ? Ok now try to CALL THEM : ) i was onnthe phone 2.5 hours listening to your call is important to us ? And elevator music . No humans via phone , befoer you buy one of their tools , check the support (( THERE IS NONE ))
I've been in construction for 50 years I'm a general building contractor Welder I have a cabinet shop a metal fabrication shop and I've been using rigid tools for more than 15 years and up until now I've been very pleased originally there cordless line up tools had bad batteries they fixed that problem and the tools were well-made reliable and durable.
I was getting ready to buy a new set until I got a chance to use my brothers new tools I am very disappointed in the quality of rigid cordless line of tools they really are garbage if you're a professional do not waste your money on the rigid line of cordless tools upgrade to Milwaukee that's what I'm doing I will keep my older rigid tools for my shop because they are very good quality and durable but everything about the new line of rigid tools is crap the batteries are cheap everything is plastic there's so much slop and play in the tools we were trying to use the new jigsaw and cannot cut a straight line because the blade slopes back-and-forth so much and it's all plastic construction it's extremely sad that they've allowed a very good quality tool to go down the toilet because of some idiot engineer thought it be good to go cheap the quality is more like the original cheaply made black and decker tools in the 70s the stuff is worse than the junk coming out of a China very sad to say I'm changing brands I was really impressed with the older Richard Tools at least the cordless line but no longer the price goes up the quality goes down
I have many Ridgid tools and have really liked them mostly for years. My 1st time when I started thinking differently was a few years ago I had one of there old jobsite table saws and it was great until I made a mistake and damaged it. I figured well I will get a newer and better one.I got a brand new table saw and it was the worst piece of crap I ever saw, it was so bad that I brought it back and purchased the old floor model that was a few years old. It was much better but no where near as good as the original. Fast forward to 2022 when my hammer drill from a special addition set which was great but the drill started giving me trouble. I bring it in and they tell me it will be like 8 to 10 weeks so after that time they call and say there are no parts available so they are replacing it with a brand new model so I think, Great, at least I am getting a new one. I get it home, open up the box and hold it in my hand and it feels cheap and poorly designed compared to the old one. I put a tip in it and spin the chuck and tighten with my other hand and it stops. It never worked anymore. Brought it back and after 3 days they tell me to come and pick it up from the Home Depot and for me to send it to Ridgid from my house. All this to say that I will not be buying any more Ridgid tools. They are not a real power tool company anymore.
This is crap. No one to speak to. When you call customer service you can not speak to anyone but a stupid machine that doesn't help. The website is just as bad. They make it so you can not register your purchase. That is just as confusing. What ever happened to the customer first. Also personally service.
I purchased 3 Rigid kits containing a hammer drill, sawsall, 2 batteries and charger. I completed all the warranty information yet after 3 years I received a notice from Rigid claiming my warranties were voided. They claimed that I did not include Serial Numbers. It is not possible to complete the form without including Serial Numbers ! I am out $300.00 for batteries now and I had to trash 2 saws because they were not covered and to expensive to repair. I tried to register 4 batteries I purchased on Amazon and they were denied because I did not purchase them from a accredited dealer. The Lifetime warranty is a scam.
