This is by far the worst company ever. I got this computer for a present last feb and am now having problem with the windows installer and downloading .msi files. I called microsoft and they told me that the windows was purchased from emachines and I have to talk to them.
So I called emachines and they told me that I would have to pay either a one time fee of 99.99 or a fee of 149 for a year of support I just choose the 99 for a 72 hour tech support that was yesterday.
I talked to a tech and the first thing they did was blame it on a corrupt file or link. We tried several different programs that were .msi format, one download out of 4 so he said that the others were bad. Really? Java is corrupt, Microsoft is corrupt??
So he proceeds and after the call I try downloading the program on another emachines computer I have had for about three years. Low and behold it downloads....those corrupt files...download no problem.
I called them this morning and they want me to pay them again. AGAIN? I happily reminded them that I have 72 hours with this one time payment I already paid they put me on hold and never came back I called again b*tching to the next person that answered and you know what her solution was??
System restory and recover. Really? I paid you 100 dollars for you to tell me something that I already know how to do. I asked them why I am doing this and not REPAIRING the problem to me restore is like a covering up it can happen again. They promptly told me that it happens ever blue moon and that a program change some files or corrupted them on my hardware.
See the change here, first download files are corrupted now my hardware is corrupted! (BS. plain and simple, BS in all it's glory. ) I told them then that if I restore without knowing what programs did it in the first place what makes you think it will not happen again...their reply: Because it happens every blue moon.
WOW, 100.00 for that, its ridiculous and this company's tech support is a joke. I am in the middle of a dispute with my credit card company as we speak. PLEASE PLEASE never get a emachines computer YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Bought 3 computers for my family and one of them never open from the box. Now the machine wont work and they want me spend 149.99 to assist. Folks that's customer service !!

I just wasted a half hour with emachine support. Frist off I gave her the numbers that are on the machine she said they were wrong and that my comturter was to old for them to help over 3 years.When it says made in 2009 right on it. Nothing working right and thereemachine recorvery mangement wont let me reboot

Technical support for this company "SUCKS"
I called with a problem with an E-Machines desktop model #T3516, go an Indian sounding gentleman who started to help me with probem, then told me he could not help, and gave me the number to HP Technical support, they were flabergasted to find out that he sent me to them, there is absolutely no so called technical support for this product, stay away from them

Well I only had my emachine computer for 4 months now and already neither one of the UBS's are operational and like everyone else I received an Indian speaking gentleman who I had trouble understanding. I needed the disk for Windows and the restore disc and they wanted to charge me (20.00) to do that when it should have came with the computer at the time of purchase. I even went to Staples to see if I could get somethng to restore my computer and was told that no store would have the software to install on their computers. The rep also said that emachines are a piece of junk. I think this company is a scam. I have never known reading comments and complaints that everyone appears to be getting the same gentleman on the phone when they call. Its time for us all to start a class action suite with this company.

Expecting someone to pay US$99 for a product key when it isn't there in the first place is a little like going into a chinese restaurant and ordering a steak and cheese sandwich with all the trimmings.

THese people are to be avoided at all costs as they are not helpful and are quite demotic in their responses to needs for assistance.

They are a bunch of money-hungry bums as far as I am concerned.

Recommend an Acer or any of their other products to anyone? NO, just as much as I would recommend getting a case of the black death to a person with asthma.

there custermer automated service sucks its terible they make u go through like a lot of crap just to conect to a service rep wich is bull what r they that lazy that they cant just have a phone person i mean come on
they have so many recalls i dont feel acer or emachine should be a loud to sell this product all the machines i see or heard of have a lot of problems and dangorus isues beware i wouldnt buy this ever a gain because they make it so hard to get help i mean they must know they suck cause they seem to hide behine the auto mated service

where does one begin My computer is 6 months old and I have had to contact emachines support more times than I can count None the less I speak to an Indian who doesnt understand the english language and guarantees me that he can fix my computer what afreakin joke 4 things he did and swears it will fix the problema nd guess what it didnt now he tells me taht he can do something BUT i will lose all my info on my computer my whole transplant information and team of doctors is in this along with everything I need to live and he wants to erase it is he freakin on drugs Emachines neds to correct this problem really fast or Off to the AG I GO

it is unforunate that E machines does have tech help in the united states. i got ripped off of customer service through a tech from another country. shame on you. we Americans need jobs. stop going overseas. they rip use off. p.s. i had to fight to get my money refunded because of e machines. linda

I bought a emachine in walmart in Jan, 2011. In september I started getting error messages, white screens and non bootups at times. By then the computer was also giving me a blue screen and freezing. I sent it in to be serviced and they sent it back to me saying it was fine! A month later same problem AGAIN! called customer service real annoyed and told them either you fix it right or you send me another computer! They told me that they couldn't send me a new one that and by now I was so pissed I wanted to just tell them what they could do with their computer, bottom line, just sent it in again to be serviced! I'm ready to just call a attorney, and the BBB! They should give a refund if they don't want to fix their junk, end of story. Will never buy another product from them!

My laptop screen is cracked and I would like to have it fixed. I tried to contact emachines but I'm not getting ANY help... I know not to buy another emachines product because they won't help with any problems. This is my 3rd emachines product and I haven't had trouble before. I'm will to pay for it but I'm not getting any help throw them.

this may or may not help but if you dial a "0" after it asks for a snid it will connect you to someone i still had s hit service and a hard time understanding but oh well

The problem with my emachine computer randomly rebooting is a known issue yet finding a solution or even addressing the problem was nonexistent.
So I'm reporting a very negative response for tech support and the company in general.

maybe all the emachines tech support people are named Peggy and maybe their all trained to annoy and avoid providing customer service, in any case the clear message is American's should'nt buy e-machines so tell your family and friends and anybody else who'll listen not to buy this defective equipment, and if enough people complain to the better business bureau, Walmart or somebody will have to listen, also why are all customer serivices in this country , answered by people who have such a heavy accent, that you can't understand them and they can't understand us either , please hear us, company executives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased system restore disks directly from emachines for my two year old computer. They didn't load properly and emachine customer service won't talk to me about it because my computer is out of warranty. A friend's Dell computer system restore disks loaded just fine--except now I have to manually install every emachine driver and I've wasted two weeks and money on emachine. I will NEVER consider buying an emachine/acer/gateway computer again.

their service is ass you cant get a hold of anyone in person if you dont have your serial number with you. i was at work only looking for an address to send my computer back under warranty 6 months old and already having a power supply issue.

I'm going to contact the Attorney General this company is building walls to try and keep people out. So I'm going to get the Attorney General to ask them why they don't have anyway to get info about their machines.
All I want is a price for a new motherboard for a laptop model number W340UA series N-10

phone in support is terrible balloney online websites don't function correctly don't except warranty info terrible service terrible service terrible service I would not recomend to anyone bought my unit at walmart will not exchange electronics after 15 days bad news and ripoff

Deplorable. Tech support is on some other planet. The seem to be reading everything off a script. Do NOT listen to what you are trying to tell them and then tell you the machine needs to be shipped to Texas to be looked at despite the fact that their website states they have a Nationwide Network of repair centers.

terrible customer service! I've wasted an enormous amount of time speaking to a machine and not a person. judging from previous comments, looks like emachines are junk. I will never purchase another emachine unit.

Emachines are JUNK! The customer service is embarrassing and their desire to make things right is non existent. I bought a desk top 2 months ago, it just randomly crashed, I tried to take it back, the store said to call emachines. After entering serial numbers to even GET a contact number, they told us that they will send out a new OS disk but it will take 14 days, no overnight available. If THAT doesnt work, we can send in the tower and they will return it within 3 weeks. SERIOUSLY?????? I said I wanted my money back, but guess what? No refunds.

My computer is a week old and won't pull up Microsoft Office applications. When I tried to call customer service and give them my SNID, it wouldn't let me go forward--just kept asking for the same number!! This is the worst service I've ever had!!
