I experienced the worst customer service. An agent came to my home. The front door open and shut my power off without notifying. The agent who turned the power back on was bragging about the new kid turns off everyone's power without knocking. My power had never been shut off and I was required to make a deposit before you would turn on my power. I think that was very unprofessional and embarrassing.
July 15 your driver was parked in my driveway on vann av working next door I had to pull up on the sidewalk to park in my yard my car sit low and my family was behind me could not get in my driveway I was upset the van 12903 plates tk363ntq I told my neighbors son to tell him to move it took him ten minutes my family went around 2 times blocks he came and said sorrry but you know and I know he can't do that you got lights and cones to put down if you park on the sidewalk if my lights or my car is damage underneath I will be making a claim he even called the cops I don't know why he was wrong and he knows he can't do that my email is [email protected]
I must have typed in one wrong number regarding my bank account # to pay my bill online. (Which I do every month)They didn't notify me but charged a $25 late fee for my error on my next bill which now was for 2 months. There is no way to save your info for future payments. You have to enter account number each time. Not to mention the late fee is way too much!
Vectren installed new meter heads to our homes. Have you noticed how many times the power goes off and back on again? That's because the greedy ignorant thieves do what's called jump meter that means when the meter shuts off and comes back on in a minute or less it will read a higher kilowatt reading which in turn gets the thriving snot noses more money. Notice how just today at about 8:36 am there was 1,600 vectren customers without power on September 28-2020. It's what you call a scattered outage which means it's not on the same grid. They rarely tell you the cause for the outage because they are doing it for financial gain. I read my meter by my phones camera and have it time stamped just to catch them in the act to finally prove fraud on their part and to finally expose these thieves at least in hypothetical analogy at this point. If they are doing this and I have the proof then I will turn it to my buddy in the Department Of Justice and get the customers relief from this questionable practice. I can't believe that you are asking for a rate increase to recover your millions in losses. This is robbery at it's finest. We already pay outrageous rates, the highest in the state. That's right we pay the highest rates in the state of Indiana. Why would you do this to people, many are suffering job loss, businesses lost, income lost for sure. Many are depressed and have such high anxiety and you're going to add even more stress and hardship to people during this these hard times?! You rich corporations don't care about anyone but yourselves! You're already fiikghy rich so why can't you for once have some compassion for the poor and working class?!

Sold a mobile home.Buyer paid deposits for gas and electric. Then vectron would not turn on service because the previous renter left a bill. Tried calling been on hold for 40 minutes -- so far - Friday afternoon and the new owners are sitting without gas or electric going into the weekend. WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS!!
I have Never received a bill..do not have account number,didn't receive a disconnect notice, just SHUT us off..called and called and no call back..our account is in credit locked down..Communication goes along way when each party complies..it's Feb.and we have No Heat!!!!!!

Selling house so I called to cancel/transfer service. House closing was pushed back, I again called to update the transfer date. The rep I spoke with didn't update the new date request and gas was shut off. Very difficult trying to get them to reconnect the gas on a couple very cold winter days.
The flames on our gas stove have been yellow/orange for the past few days, rather than the normal blue. Since the furnace is still keeping the house warm, Vectren assumes all is OK and refuses to come out and check the gas pressure. I've used Vectren for over 30 years, and this is the first time that I've ever called them. Their service is apparently nonexistent.
Had a lot of issues from a car wreck and having to go to the hospital. I was a little late on payment and when I finally got the money.. that was the day they came to shut off my power. They refused to not shut it off and let me pay. Now i have to pay extra to turn it back on and it took forever just to alk to someone.
I filled out the Vectren form online to notify them of a limb on the power line near our address. A week plus went by and no action. I decided to call and that didn't go well either. I gave the rep the address and she said she could not find that address in their system.......makes me wonder who I have been paying my bill to the last 20 years. As it ended up she was going to enter the call into their system. Did ask for my name but not a number to reach me by in case they had further questions. Can't wait to see how this will go.
Has anyone EVER successfully contacted a live person at the Contact Us number. Trying to simply establish service, so I do not have an acct number. On hold nearly 80 minutes with their crappy music interrupted by the Please Hold message. If there were ANY other option I would surely be using it.
After waiting 1 hour on hold to speak to a customer service representative, she "Cathy or Kathy" was unbelievably rude and nasty. I was shocked and appalled. I merely wanted to disconnect service from one location and wanted to make sure the correct address was being disconnected. No excuse for any business to make a customer wait an hour. No call back was offered in the recorded answering machine. Indiana residents must let this company know this is unacceptable!!! Six days to disconnect service!!!!!! Not acceptable either.
vectrens claims department is impossible to contact. I have called numerous times and every time an associate states that they will send an email for claims to call. The associate is courteous and sympathetic, however they are sorry because there is no longer a switchboard to send calls to and an email is all they can do. I had a gentleman return one call from claims and me and my wife and our insurance company have called no less than 10 times. This is a poor way of doing business and it further shows the lack of concern towards my claim. My consultation with an Attorney is on Wednesday the 17th. I have never had to use an attorney in my entire life, and if you conducted business correctly I wouldn't have to now. Your lack of response has caused undo stress. Sincerely Dave Patterson
A contractor representative for American Home Energy Alliance stopped by my house wanting to do a home energy home analysis ie infrared cameras They claimed they were working for Vectren in some manner. Is this true or are they an insulation contractor

called and got forwarded to a answering service or emergency service and lady was rude huffing and puffing on the phone if she dont like her job she needs to quit not treat customer like that very disappointed and upset if had a choice of electric providers sure would have made a switch she was very rude and unprofessional
Now consumers are now expected to pay their bill in 17 days. Bill received on the 13th of March. Bill date was March 12th. Bill delinquent on the 29th! Obviously Vectren has found a great way to rack up late charges. Outrageous! As if the whole world is paid on a biweekly basis!
No one will listen to me they think that I would pay a whole month gas bill when I never even got the keys until the 28th I don't know why the bill got into my name a month before I moved in but that is wrong and no one will listen to me
As a CSR for Vectren I understand that there are plenty of reps who are careless, selfish and terrible. Unfortunately this is true with any sort of company, not everyone is an all star team player. However, there are still plenty that will do what we can to work with you within reason. We have payment arrangements available if you are getting behind on the bill or are going through a financial hard time. We also have phone numbers to agencies that can possibly assist you in making payment on your behalf. And we even have our very own assistance program to help with people getting their gas turned on to have heat for the winter and another to keep it on in the spring. With that being said, if you do not call in to make us aware of this issue we are not able to assist you with this matter. Many times customers go for MONTHS without making any payment and then call in AFTER being disconnected and complain and ask for an arrangement to pay off their balance because of this hard time. Why would you avoid it until you lose your service to let us know about this? And how would you expect us to have known with you avoiding our phone calls and not calling in to tell us? Also why would you shame the good people that truly do assist customers the very best that they can to try to help and actually make the hated company better even if its just a little and say plenty of awful and profane things to someone who is doing their job? There are many legal things that we CANNOT do that we get yelled at about when all we are trying to do is avoid losing our job by not breaking these laws for customers who call in and are terribly rude to the rep from the start about something that we as reps have absolutely nothing to do with. If there is something we cannot do we will advise you the best way to handle the issue at hand WITHOUT us having to worry about losing our jobs. As a rep if there is ever something that goes wrong due to OUR mistake I fix it immediately, or if I am unable to find whoever can, whether it be disconnects, reconnects, billing etc. I have had many satisfied customers because they are able to tell that I assist in any way that I can and have even had customers speak to my supervisor because they were so HAPPY with their experience with me. So next time you are mad at some situation in your life, please do not take this out on the Vectren CSR, just as we do not take our own frustrations of life out on you customers. As I have said not all reps are terrible, just as not all of the customers are terrible. But next time you call in mad about Vectren remember that sometimes we get screamed at over things we have no control of and continue to assist you in any way we possibly dispose that. Also an FYI for everyone any deposit on file automatically applies towards your balance if service becomes inactive. So if you are getting reconnected after losing service for non payment, we charge a deposit to go back on file for you that GAINS INTEREST WHILE ON FILE,and can be requested to be applied towards your balance after 9 months of on time payments in full and we will AUTOMATICALLY apply that towards you balance for you if you have not requested it after 12 months of on time payments in full. If you are being charged a deposit and there is not one being applied towards your balance that is because it already has, or we went and gave you the exception in the past to not even charge you one! However this is a VECTREN POLICY, so please do not get mad at a CSR for doing their job when your bill with a disconnect notice shows that the deposit and reconnect fee will be charged along with your past due balance on your account if you get disconnected, PRIOR to you being put in that situation.
Vectren was very friendly when I went to get my service on. The process for a movein only takes about 15 minutes and then we set up a day for the my services to switch out of the old owners name. Everything was smooth and seemless. The company has been great to me so far!
