Citi bank is a thief. Took 5700.00 out of my account for payment instead of 57.09. Upon calling them I was lied to so many times I can not even count. Was told the money to return to me was being processed and would be in ailing me a check in 7-19 business days all I got was a letter saying it was canceled because of no funds in my credit card account to return. Called them again said it would be in my account in 3-4 days by direct payment. Called again said everything done right and I did not need to call it would be there in 2_4 days. Did nit come called again sAud it was in processing would be there for sure in 3-4 days did not come. Called again said it would be there in few hours just give it some time if did not come call back. Called again insisted on talking to whoever could get my money to me was transferred to someone who we could not understand from some other country he got upset said something about United states and hung up on us. Called again got someone one who said there was no notes in computer about calls, insisted on being transferred to account management that guy said no notes since first letter canceling the rayest was sent Srot7, then said it was under investigation fir what I don't know but also said it was electronic payment on Citi site and they were not the ones that recorded the payment and it was sent 5700'oo which I kniw for a fact did not happen. Bottom line he said I would receive a letter in 7-10 business days-I said so you are kefping my money he said I am not saying that I said what are you sAying? No answer. We all know if you are getting a letter it is not returning your money . He finally said he would could me in three days. After reading these reviews and fact that they lowered another account limit on another card I have shortly after I requested my money back says a lot . Had 6;0 balance lowered it from 309 to 650 making it -00% use.plus the fact they lowered it puts a measure hurt in credit report it is attorney time!!! Anyone interested in. Lass action suit???? They need to be stopped!!!

I am contacting you to praise an employee - Annie Hung, Personal Banker (NMLS IC: 1976228) at the Citibank branch on Rockville Pike in Rockville, MD. I had a terrible and fruitless experience trying to resolve an issue with Citi over the phone, so I went to the branch and Annie took the time and had the knowledge to settle the matter (which was Citi's fault, by the way). Unlike the "supervisor" on the phone (Teresa), Annie didn't try to pass my problem on to some other part of the Citi empire but made sure things were completely resolved before I went on my way. (Please note I'm not providing ratings below because they would be entirely positive if based on my experience with Annie but entirely negative if based on my experience with your people over the phone). I always made my payments on time and above and beyond my minimum payment! They notified me that they are reducing my credit limit to what I owe. It will destroy my credit score. I am livid! Do NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!! THEY WILL DESTROY YOUR CREDIT SCORE!!!!!!

I have a Citi AA card that I recently reactivated. Dealing with this company is like being in the seventh circle of hell. I wanted to add the card to my Apple Wallet and their verification to be able to do that requires sending a letter IN THE MAIL. Their fraud prevention is triggered over nothing, and the process for getting the card reactivated is insanely detailed, only to have it triggered again the next day over a $200 purchase. If you're not involved with Citi yet, stay away.

After being Citibank Gold customer for over 20 years, I found out ONLINE, not even jn a paper letter, that all my accounts are being closed. No explanation, no reason, no apology. I had three different accounts with them, all in good standing, never had any problems with any of the accounts, never had any complaints. This situation disrupted my business activities, took a huge toll in time and caused me enormous stress. I can't believe that bank I have been a loyal customer to for over 20 years would do such a thing. I recommend anyone who values their health, time and pierce of mind, don't open accounts in Citi. Worst banking experience, worst customer service, worst attention to clients.

Worst phone system in the history of phone systems. I literally ended up screaming F*CK YOU!! repeatedly in order to get a human on the line. So for anyone else out there, there's a short cut... just start yelling F*CK YOU until they give you a representative.

I like Citibank. However, I do NOT like their customer service department on evenings during the weekends. They are not very helpful, they are difficult to understand, and when they don't know what to do, they should tell you this, as opposed to transferring a customer to another department which happens to be closed! I am always glad to just get the pre-recorded customer service robot lady, as SHE is always nice, and gladly takes my money! Why does Citi need those others when they have HER?

Citibank has become extremely user unfriendly. If it wasn't such a giant pain to change everything, I would leave in a heartbeat. The app has technical difficulties frequently. Plus accessing my account with face ID and my password is not longer enough to access my account or send via Zelle. It's a huge inconvenience to then have to put in my debit card number and pin. Get it together, Citi, and just send a code to verify identity. Spend a few bucks and stop making this such a grueling ordeal to access my account

Having experience in banking in six countries in the world, I can assure anyone who reads these lines that Citibank is the worse banking experience I make. By a huge margin. I believe that the management of this company gets its bonus on the basis of how many clients they are able to loose in a month. Having to deal with such a lousy operation in these days and ages is simply flabbergasting. For no reason I am blocked from accessing my account online for over a month and a half now. Uncountable calls to their customer service with absolutely no resolution of the issue. This is a company where Brownian movement has taken over. I will close my account to the joy of the management, I'm sure.

the absolute worst bank I have ever dealt with in every way. the people do not speak to each other, they hit you with platitudes, blame the customer for their own issues, do not make good on service commitments, impossible to speak to someone senior. Zero empathy and they simply do not care about your experience. Having had a terrible experience with them related to a fraud claim, I will never deal with them again.

The Worst Bank That Had Existed And Will Ever Exist.do Not Get Full With All Those Promotions From Citi, Deposit This $$$ Abd Receive This Bonus$$$ Second Time That I Open An Acct. For This Purpose , They Are Just Robbers Of Your Money. They Offered A Bonus And I Called I Asked 7 Or 8 Times What Are The Requirements Of The Bonus, The Phillipino Representative Said Just Deposit $$$ And Keep It Form 60 Days. Lyer ! I Opened My Acct On April 9, 23. I Founded The Necessary Amount On April 18. 2023.(this Requirement Checked As It Said Fund The Account In 20 Days Of Acct. Opening. I Funded It In 9 Days, So I Thought I Was Good. First Call Around June13 Which Was Over 60 Days Of My Account Opening Oh!!! Now It Comes The Surprises Liers!!. Oh Sorry Ms. Pfingsten, They Did Not Tell You But It Is 60 Days After You Funded Your Account, Not After You Opened The Account, So You Will Be Receiving Your Bonus About June 18 To June 30. (45 Minutes Call, Considering The Hold Time). Second Call: June 29, Where Is My Bonus? Oh Sorry Ms. Pfingsten, They Did Not Give You The Right Information (for The Third Time!!!), So This Is How It Is : Once You Fund Your Account , Counting That It Was Funded With The Right Amount (which It Was) And It Was In The First 20 Days (which It Was, It Was Funded In 9 Days) , So Then We Count 60 Calendar Days And Then We Have 30 Days To Give You The Bonus, So Technically, You Funded Your Account On April 18, 60 Days After That Is About June 18, So Now We Have Until July 18, 2023 To Funded Your Acct. Seriously!!!! The Lady Who Opened The Acct, Lied To Me. Omited All This Info, The Second Representative Gave Me The Wrong Info, The Third Representative Also Gave Me The Wrong Info. Now The Fourth Representative Tells Me I Have To Wait Until July 18, 2023. Unbelievable!
On Or About July 11, When I Did Not Receive The Bonus , I Called Again For The Fifth Time: Buy Now, I Had Put About 6 Hours In 5 Calls To Citibank Going From Representative To Reprsentative And Even With Supervisors. On My Fifth Call, I Inquired About My Bonus ... Yes You Guessed It. Fifht Call : Fifht Surprise And Fift Different Info: "oh Sorry Mrs. P., You Didn't Receive Your Bonus Because You Did Not Submit Your W-9 Form!! What !!! Why Nobody Told Me In This Five Calls About This, Actually Why The Inefficient Lady Who Opened My Account Told Me (review The Calls, How Many I Asked Her: Do I Need Something Else, Do You Need Some Other Info From Me) No... Failure Liers, They Do Not Tell You So They Will Continue Keeping Your Money! Liers Thiefs!.... Yes You Guessed It, They Failed To Ask Me For A W-9 Form At Account Opening, So Now That They Are Requesting Me, They Want You To Send It Via Regular Mail, So It Will Take Another 10 Calendar Days To Say They Do Not Receive It Yet . Thiefs. Ceo Of Citibank, You Guys Are Thiefs!.... I Couldn't Believe It. I Went Online Printed The W-9 Form, Went To The Post Office, Get Stamps And Mailed The Form On July 20,23. On July 27, 23 I Received A Letter From The Stupid People Who Work At Citi Telling Me That In Order To Get The Bonus I Need To Send A W-9 Form! You Will Not Believe What They Told Me: Oh Sorry Ms. Pfingsten, We Didn't Update Your Account. Yes , We Received Your W-9 Form On July 24, 23 But It Was Not Updated On Your Account. (it Was Not Means We Failed To Update It) I Couldn't Believe It!... So The Supervisor I Talked To Submitted An Escalation Asking For The Bonus To Be Added To My Account Asap. This Was Already July 29, This Is About 40 Days That They Kept My Money Without Giving Me The Money. Well , Today Is Aug. 21, 23 About A Month Since My Last Call. They Have Not Added My Bonus: Seventh Surprise After Talking To The Very Rude Guatemalean Supervisor: Oh Sorry Ms. Pfingsten, They Diddn't Give You Your Bonus, Because Eventhough They Updated The W-9 Form On The Last Call Of July 26, They Did Not ' C E R T I F Y" Your Account. A New Word: "certify"... What When Somebody Talked About Certify. They Talked About W-9 Update Your Account, Not Enough Time Etc But Never Certify.. With This Being Said: If You Have About 9 Hours Of Your Time To Call Go Through A Hundred Prompts, Be Brave Enough To Understand The Accent Of Phillipinians And Guatemalians Who Answered The Phone, Print, Go To The Post Office, Call Again Etc Etc. If You Have About 9 Hours Of Your Time To Beg These Thiefs To Give You Your Bonus, Then Open An Acct With Citibank. If You Don't Have That Time, Dream Of Receiving A Bonus , Open An Acct And Never Call Again... They Will Never Give You A Bonus.. They Will Come Up With A Hundred Of Excuses! Shame On You Citi!

Just got off the phone with a supervisor (in India of course!) from Citibank. He suggested I pay off and close my Citibank credit card or research other cards to transfer my balance to so I can then close my account of 35+ years. Wow. Incredible customer service! How low can they go??!

This back sucks. They closed accounts for no good reason and keep your money. Say that you have to wait 30-60 days for a check in the mail. This is bull!!! Some of us need OUR money now not in months later. That is why we open a account in the first place knowing it's there when needed. Never thought they would keep your hard earned money for no good reason. Even after the check cleared. And the is no one that can help. Come on!!!! This is messed up!!! Give me my money!!! What gives you the right to do this??

I'd say bank service as bad as customer service. I got a new Citi Premier card and I used it for several transactions with no problem until I attempted to purchase a laptop at an Apple Store. It failed and I understood they were being secured so called at the store and resolved the problem. I gave out the KEY word and phone number for them to send me a Citi ID code for verification and the representative told me that the restriction was removed and the card was good to go. Unfortunately the card didn't work. I used another Citi credit card and it failed as well and got locked. Citi kept calling and leaving messages to ask me to call for resolution. Eventually I called Citi bank with someone kept asking same questions for verifications, putting me on hold and repeat the security questions. 30 minutes went by but was still in the verification stage and just going around the circle. I got so fed up and asked to close all the Citi card accounts. She ignored my request and said to send me letter for continuing verification. When they can't resolve problems they just want to get you off the phone after bugging you with tons of questions for nothing. Why should we use their credit cards while they can't lift up the services?

Its to bad that some companies use Citibank credit cards for their customers. I hate this bank and everything it stands for. Talk about getting the shaft. One payment left and this puppy is closed. Do not eve get a credit card, checking account or loan through Citibank. An absolute piranha.

Please Please do NOT BANK WITH CITI BANK I had 3 mobile deposits and they said that my checks was not legit and closed out my account without me knowing. And now I have to wait 30 to 60 days for them to cut me a check. Horrible BANK

THE WORST! No 24 hour service. Glitchy phone/voice "bot" customer service. Hard to use the card (security virtually prevents charging anything expensive and then when you need help - good luck).

Someone at Citibank has basically made it a requirement to talk to phone representatives, and none of them are helpful. If you don't call between the hours of 9.00am ET - 5.00pm ET, you'll get a message that says, "Please call back during normal hours of operation" but they never say what the normal hours are. They will keep you on hold for hours. When you talk to someone, they'll try to figure out how not to help you - I had to give the rep my name 3 times and spell it, and when they heard it spelled, they said, "oh," as if they didn't realize how to spell. The system will also keep you on hold for a long time as well. Most of this could get resolved by the website, but, they block a lot of people from using it now and force you to use the phone system. It's ridiculous.

Want to compliment Veronica (V4R) in Customer Service (BJC03). She was very, very helpful in resolving a credit card issue. Out the approximately 10 people I spoke with over the last couple of months she was the ONLY EMPLOYEE who possessed the knowledge to resolve our issue.

I hope I'm sending this compliment to the correct place. I want her to be recognized.

Had some login issues causing my accounts to be unaccessible. I stayed on the phone for 3 hours, got transferred between multiple people and had to keep repeating my issue and information. I even had one rep tell me she couldn't help me and hung up. I was upset because I could not access my funds. Finally after 3 hours I called a separate line that seemed to be in the states, and the lady got me into my account and all my funds reconnected in five minutes. I plan to start transferring my money else where. Worst experience ever, and I'm in customer service so I do understand. They just bat you around to outsourced agents hoping you will get frustrated and hang up. Completely reading from scripts that are not helpful at all.

CITIBANK IS CASHING ON THE LATE CHARGES OF ITS REGULAR CARDHOLDER.
I USED TO BE LOYAL TO CITIBANK AND ALWAYS MADE EARLY OR ADVANCE PAYMENTS FOR MY CREDIT CARD. BUT THERE WAS only Once in which I was late for only 1 day, in which I was charged >100% of the outstanding amount due on that day. 100% for late charge payments. And that is only for 1 day late. This is just a regular credit card from a credit card company, not a loan from a loan shark. But the charges are ridiculously high.

When I called in for a waiver, they kept rejecting my waiver application as if I had a very bad record. But this was never the case.

When I called the customer service, they even insulted me repeatedly and refuse to help me at all.

So please, existing cardholders of CITIBANK, be very careful of their tactics and be mindful of what they do., They are worse than loan sharks.

Horrible customer service !!!! Signed up for credit card bonus with miles and never received the bonus miles. On the phone for hours from one person to another to try to get this resolved. When I signed up the rep told me what I would get in specific terms. Customer service has that in writing but they say they are sorry but she was misinformed. Sorry, not my problem. After many calls to bogus numbers no resolution. Been a customer for 37 years. Never again

Citibank deducted money from my account but did not send the money to the merchant, Shopee, which I need to make payment to. This problem did not occur just once, not twice but 3 times since February 2023. The first problem was blamed on IT glitch. Now, a payment transaction was reversed and refunded back to my Citibank account after 5 days. The other payment transaction is currently still missing as I write. I sought help from Citibank via their messsaging channel. 3 Citibank support agents sent me messages to thank me for being a Citibank customer for 22 years. But no explanation was provided as to why the payment transfer was not processed. Worse, 1 payment transaction has gone missing. This is my worst banking experience.

WORST Customer Service I've ever had to deal with...TWICE in one month. No answers, just restating what I've already learned online BEFORE CALLING.
Plus it seems to be 100% in India as the Reps have no clue what time it is where I am calling from. I have to call THEM back when my regular bank's Customer Svc is open. WTF?!?!
