Amazon is great! They refunded me both times I forgot to cancel after my trial membership ended. They have also helped me with merchandise returns from other sellers. 10/10 from me. :)

I've make purchases through Amazon on a monthly basis for several years. I have been very pleased with their return policy. The few times I have returned an item, a refund was issued within just a few days. When I had a phone stolen and someone had gained access to my account (use a passcode!) the customer service rep was very helpful and even stopped a transaction being made as we were speaking. Top notch customer service. My only complaint is there has been an obvious slow down in shipping since I have not signed up for Prime. The last order took almost three weeks which is not acceptable. I don't mind the free shipping deal being raised to $35, as I always order over that amount, but to deliberately slow down shipping so as to get me to sign up for Prime has me rethinking my ordering from the company.
Customer service was awesome as always. I order a lot from amazon so figure every so often something is going to go awry. My latest order contained several items, one of which was an item I need by Saturday and was contained in its own box. Upon opening the box I discovered that while the box was marked with the correct item, the contents were wrong. I contacted Amazon and they immediately rectified the problem. So big whoop right? That is what they are supposed to do right? Well yes but I live in the middle of nowhere and it is Thursday night and being in the middle of nowhere, nobody delivers on Saturday here so Amazon CS was good enough to send the item one day shipping to ensure that I received it before Saturday. This of course is something that they really didn't have to do but did anyway. I have also on occasion dealt with other companies that could have cared less that I would not receive it before Saturday. This is why Amazon continues to get my business.
I had a great experience with amazon customer service recently. I have a prime membership and after a recent move to a new city, none of my packages were arriving on time. I called amazon customer service and they resent an item overnight that still hadn't arrived and extended my prime membership for the inconvenience. I spoke to a Christine who was very courteous and resolved my issue very very quickly. She also sent a message to the carrier making sure future packages will arrive by the expected delivery date.
I have ben an Amazon customer for years now and have had nothing but positive experiences with the company. I recently had an order that I had placed "disappear" somehow from my front porch. When I notified Amazon of the issue they agreed to re-ship my order, no questions asked. AMAZING! I am so grateful to be protected by Amazon! Thanks so much!
Not sure why people are complaining. I think their customer service is amazing. I was chatting with a representative names Arunaa using the chat function for over an hour today about an issue I was having with my Kindle that I have not been able to use for two years. It would not take a charge, so she credited my account with nearly $40 to purchase a new charger and have it shipped completely free. She then told me to contact them again once I get the charger if the problem persists. Very helpful. A++ in my book.
I've had a problem with an order being delayed at customs, so I've contacted Amazon to ask them if it's normal or if there is a problem with the order.
An Amazon representative answered in less than a minute and he helped me very very fast.
He just asked for the order number and gave me an answer in about a minute or two.
it would be advisable for most of the posters here to go directly to Amazon to get your issues resolved. There is a terrific customer help forum' "staffed" by other Amazon customers. Many questions can be answered there, or clear links to Amazon customer support can be supplied. It's called the General Help Forum and is easy to access by simply using the "Help" link on any Amazon page.
Amazon is a good company compare to others that have very poor customer service. A seller sold a hard drive as brand new to me when it was actually used.
How could I tell it was used? For starters, the anti-static seal had been resealed. Because myself and my associate were suspicious, we opened the drive and then used forensic recovery software to scan the drive. It told us that there was recoverable data on the drive. By finding that data, it clearly showed that this drive was used and not new as the seller had described it.
Amazon took care of this issue immediately and promptly filed an A-to-z claim and got my money back.
They also stated that we should discard the hard drive, as they did not want the seller to get it back and possibly resell it to another customer. This shows that they are looking out for other buyers out there and want to prevent them from being ripped off.
If the hard drive had been new, it would have been used in a forensic system. We also can't be sure if this hard drive were stolen or not. Since it is our policy to destroy items of this sort, we will be destroying the hard drive.
Amazon customer service has consistently replied rapidly to any issue I have raised, even on holidays (which probably aren't observed anyway in whatever south Asian country the customer service people are based.) Issues have always been resolved to my satisfaction, and Amazon takes responsibility to resolve issues for any company that sells through their service.
WOW...can't believe service I just got from Amazon. I placed an order last night and didn't select free shipping ($5.74 was my mistake as I thought that was the default shipping) and within 6 hours the price of the product I had ordered deceased by $7.25. Well I just dropped Amazon a quick note hoping I might get a little consideration. Instead within 15 minutes got email that I am getting a full refund of both!! Way to go Amazon!!!!
This is a bit lengthy, but I think it's very important to recognize companies that still give amazing, personal customer experience.
A few weeks back I ordered 3 books from Amazon.com for our book club. The books never came & when I finally tracked them they had been delivered to my old address. I contacted Amazon via 'live chat', the team member I spoke to was very polite, efficient & professional. He researched my problem & issued a full refund, he then checked my profile to make sure my information was correct so I wouldn't have the problem again. Thank you Leon! Meanwhile, I asked my old neighbor to run across the street & see if my old address had the books. They accepted one & returned the other two. Today I again contacted Amazon to inquire on how to pay for the book that I did get. They pulled up my information, thanked me for my honesty & told me to keep the book free of charge for my troubles. James even returned my "Merry Christmas'! As a result of this experience, I did all of our Christmas shopping with Amazon & will be going there first anytime I'm in a spending mood. Keep doing what you're doing with your team members, it's definitely working! Thank you for your outstanding service Amazon, you have gained a customer for life.

I called CS because I couldn't get my order to go through. I got a lovely rep who suggested I try a different browser, stayed online with me while I tried again, and confirmed that the order had gone through and had not been duplicated. I'm pleased with the service I got today.
I wish that all customer service representatives were as courteous and knowledgable as Amazons are! I had a problem with my Kindle Fire and Sebastian with Amazon was amazing! He very patiently helped me with troubleshooting my Kindle, called me back promptly when he said he would, spoke slowly and clearly so that I could understand him and above all resolved my issue! My faith in customer service has been restored by this young man! Thank you Amazon!
