I have both a chase account and a capital one bank account capital one's banking far exceeds Chase is the cutomer service department. I had a capital one credit card and i got sick they treated me like trash while i was ill. Calling every day for money i didn't have and then closing my account even though i was paying every month. We had bad blood between us for years. I got a capital one card recently, the tables have turned and yes i treat them like trash demanding rediculous things from them. They take it like a pro we are working on rebuilding a tarnished relationship but it's working.

I've been a customer of Capital One for about
fifteen years and I've found that the quality of their
customer service depends on whether it's via email
or call center, and even the location of the call center.
In general, the call center in the Philippines (if it's
overnight in Eastern Time Zone) is very good, especially the demeanor of the contact. It's easy for me to get very upset with CC problems, but the
people there are very patient. Daytime service (State-side) is not as good. The most important aspect of customer service to me, is the attitude of the contact
and whether or not they make a concerted effort to resolve the issue.
The "virtual" service via email is the worst I've ever experienced; whoever is assigned to responding to emails gives an automatic response and I believe the first response is automated. I once went through 5 exchanges before I had an issue resolved.

It seems that every time I tried talking with someone in customer services for the last three months regarding my Auto account was a lack of communication or should I say some one needs an attitude adjustment. Today 9-30-09 I spoke with {Mandy ID # ATB} she went an extra mile to make sure that I understood the changes that had occurred on my statement. She didn’t getting upset with me she took out time to make sure that I understood everything. I must say we need more customer service people like Mandy. I told her once and would like to tell her again, thank you for caring for others.

Almost a month ago I spoke with two customer service agent about a bad situation I was in with Vonage. There was one customer service agent I spoke with who was rude to me the first time I tried to explain my situation at Capital One. My problem with Vonage they kept taking money out of my credit card for over a year unauthorized. I begged for them to stop taking the money and it would be in different amounts every months. I begged by phone and by emails and I even wrote a letter. They wouldn't honor my request in anyway. I even spoke to over four agents and my conversation was taped, so the machine said, but again nothing was done. The Capital One agent was very helpful. He fixed most of my problems with the account and helped to recover most of my money but he said I would have to write a letter to retrieve the rest from March of 2008 to January 2008. Could you please send me information on how to do this properly. I truly appreciated the help he gave me that evening. I didn't realize Capital One could fix this problem, thank you so very much.

I was concern about my CO Card Call CO Spoke with Tina The CSR. We went over the account and assure me that there was no problem with my acct but rather a purchase that was still pending.
Went to bed that night with no worries.
