Why can I NOT get customer service?????

Posted by Babs

I was just hung up on by a salesman of RCI, who called soliciting their Hilton Head property. I politely asked how I was on their list, as I was registered with Do Not Call Registry. I respectfully request RCI to remove me from all future phone solicitations. He asked, "So you're not interested in purchasing this vacation?" I said no and he simply hung up.
Click. Not even the courtesy of a reply. I am trying to find a way to contact their corporate office, but you have to give your whole name, which I'm reluctant to do.

I was just hung up on by "Lauren" of RCI, who called soliciting their Hilton Head property. I politely said, "No, thank you, and I would respectfully request RCI to remove me from all future phone solicitations."
Click. Not even the courtesy of a reply. I am writing to their corporate office, and will never go near an RCI product again.

I recently booked to stay in Club Calahonda in Mijas costa, Spain at a price of 720 euro, for Christmas and New Year, so two weeks, I'm not an RCI member and after this stay I would never consider joining! I wasn't informed that the bar/restaurant was closed, that I had to pay for wifi/ safe, I was told about a free bus but never told times, I found the electric was like a third world country and seemed to go on and off as and when it wanted, the fridge again worked when it wanted, the wifi dropped in and out as and when it felt like it, the quiet hours were far from that! a family above us obviously worked for Pickfords and moved the entire flat everyday at all hours....
Customer services promised a bottle of bubbly for New Year and a discount voucher for the local area, I'm still waiting!!
To make matters worst, I was called on the 5/1/12 in my apartment and told that the reception would be closed for the next two days and I could leave the key at Club Marbella about 300 yards further up the road or I could check out 2 days before I was due to make life easier for reception! Why would I loose 2 days of my holiday just to make life easier?

member number I signed up for Platinum membership in Late May 2015 and was informed that details of the scheme would be put in the post and should expect a parcel within 28 days. After I waited for about 6 weeks, there was no sign ot this package, so I called again and was told that it had been reorsdered. I heard nothing more until I received 2 parcels re Platinum membership in the post on 16th DECEMBER!!! Please can you explain why it took so long as the items contained therein couldn't have taken more than a few minutes to assemble!

Secondly, wheh I called to complain, I was informed that @hone calls now cost 5p a minute... outrageous. Pete McAlear

I recently used my RCI points to stay at the Divi Phoenix Resort in Aruba from August 22, 2015 to August 29, 2015. The facility looked nice enough, and the one bedroom, 1 full bath, 1 shower bath 'appeared' to be just lovely at first sight. Sadly, upon closer inspection, apartment 754 was not the 'home away from home' I had anticipated it to be.

The microwave did not work at all. It took 4 days to get a working microwave. There is no stove in the unit, so we could not heat up our meals. This inconvenience cost us dearly as eating out for lunch was not in our budget.

The washer/dryer could only accommodate 3-4 items of clothing, was a loud as a jet engine, and did not dry the clothes completely. I returned home with mildewed clothes. Also, the first use of the unit blew a circuit that cut the AC as well.

The jetted tub did not function at all for 4 days and only partially thereafter.

Upon our arrival, lights were burnt out in the kitchen and master bathroom and the bottom drawer of the chest of drawers in the master bedroom had broken off and was resting against the wall next to the dresser.

The A/C took one full day to cool the apartment; the apartment remained cool ONLY if we kept all the curtains closed, defeating the purpose of having an ocean view.

Our toiletries and towels were not refreshed daily, as advertised. It took 4 days to obtain adequate toiletries and towels.

The loud dishwasher merely rinsed the dishes; it did not clean them thoroughly, even though I wiped away all food items from the plates prior to putting them in the dishwasher.

Our room was not ready for check-in at 4PM. There was no place to store our luggage upon arrival and the bellman was nowhere in sight. The lobby was jammed with guests waiting for their rooms. When we obtained the keys to our room, the cleaning crew was still there and told us to wait outside.

The food in all the restaurants was excellent. The service was not. There is a 15% gratuity added to the bill, so the lack of incentive for superlative attention might be the reason for the unsatisfactory service.

The spa services were exemplary, but the spa is not part of the Resort.

The convenience store prices were ridiculously high, even for an island where everything is imported. For example, sunscreen 50 was $27 for a bottle. The same bottle was $16 at a local convenience store down the street.

I personally lodged my complaints to the Front Desk early Sunday morning and was told all issues would be remedied that day. They were not.

I complained via the telephone again on Monday morning. A repairman came and replaced the microwave, fixed the drawer and installed fresh light bulbs in the kitchen and master bath. He also showed us how to use the washer/dryer as the directions on the unit itself were unintelligible and the instruction booklet for the unit was non-existent. The jetted tub was not repaired. Towels and toiletries were not refreshed/replenished, so we grabbed some from a room cleaning cart in the hallway.

The 'new' microwave worked for one day before it began to beep constantly and malfunction.

The washer/dryer never functioned properly. When in use, we could not hear ourselves as the unit was excessively loud. The same held true for the dishwasher. It was very unsettling.

On Wednesday, after 4 days of complaining to the Front Desk, I spoke personally to Pearl, the hotel manager. She sent a repair crew to the room who replaced the microwave with one that actually worked. (The fan on the original unit broke and the control panel on the second unit malfunctioned.) They replaced the control panel on the jetted tub so that some of the jets worked, but not all. The cleaning crew brought in extra towels and toiletries, so we had adequate supplies thereafter.

For the inconvenience of having a substandard room for the majority of our stay, Pearl authorized a $100 credit to our bill. Assistant manager Yvette told us to write to DIVI RESORTS' home office in the USA if we wanted to receive additional compensation.

Upon returning home, I contacted RCI and spoke with "Mike" to lodge my formal complaint. He said that RCI couldn't do anything to help me or compensate me for the above issues and that I had to take this issue to DIVI Resorts.

We are currently using timeshare at the Regency Club Tenerife, this is suppose to be a gold rated RCI Resort! There have been numerous things that are not at gold star standard but the last straw is you actually have to pay to play table tennis and use the pool table! Once you make contact I will enlighten you regarding the numerous disappointing issues we have experienced.

Wow, I have always complained to my husband about RCI. I can't really figure out why we have it, we can never book a place when we want to and we made the HUGE mistake of upgrading and now they haven't applied the additional points that we purchased and it has been over 8 months. You can get to anyone to talk about it. They are a total rip off in my opinion and I would never recommend to anyone to purchase anything through RCI. I came to the corporate office website to see if I could find a phone number since I am getting no where with the home resort. Now I see comments galore that are nothing but complaints and horrible experiences having to do with RCI. WOW is all I can say. Makes me feel real confident that the phone call I will be making today is going to be beneficial in anyway. Sad situation.

(7/21/15) we were to have the week of 7/25/15 to 8/1/15 that was four days before we were to be there. I was called yesterday morning and was that told the vacation I booked on the Plantation Resort of MYRTLE BEACH was over booked. I was told there were 100 overbookings. I have a 5 star with Orange Lake and now I was offered a 3 star at another place not to our liking.
In April they did the same thing to me and booked for July and said oh no it is for 2016 not 2015. Every I do an exchange I cannot book what I want.

I am extremely upset that RCI would cancel my vacation 4 days before I was supposed to leave because they overbooked the resort. I reserved my resort (or what I thought was a reservation) in October of 2014. It is now 9 months later and 4 days before it was supposed to start they call to tell me they overbooked and I have nowhere to go. They offered another resort 2 hours away and basically said take it or leave it. I will be leaving RCI if they do not make it right.

I am usually very happy with the way RCI works but in my past vacations I was left very disappointed. I always get invited to the timeshare presentations and I always deny since I hate being pressured and plus they always end up wasting a bunch of time. During my last vacations I was obligated to pay a deposit I have never paid before that deposit it was about 60 dollars. I was obviously very pissed off i always stay in the same chain of hotels and never pay such deposit. The next morning an RCI representative calls my room and says that the deposit I was charged was a mistake and I would get my money back they wanted to invite me and my family to breakfast and to talk about some benefits that I am not taking advantage off. I repeatedly asked if there was going to be a presentation and they would always answer that no, no presentation was going to take place so I agreed. The breakfast was delicious and it was a very pleasant hour before all hell broke loose and a presentation started that took away so much time from a very precious day of vacations. I would have held my tongue if at least my money had been refunded but that was clearly just another lie because no money was refunded. And the only way I was to get my money back was if it was used as a bond to purchase a packet of recreational activities they had prepared even then I obviously had to pay the difference. There is absolutely no communication between the hotel and RCI. And I can't believe that the Hotel would permit that they lie to their clients and do nothing about it.

Charged my card for a car rental but said it declined when I booked it online
The next day I found it that the charge went through. No verification and no receipt. I have been transferred to so many different departments and continuously placed on hold. Problem STILL not solved since yesterday....So frustrating!!!!!!!!!

RCI customer service is just one step worse than their web site, which by the way is quite poor. After being transfer 4 times, each time repeating member ID, phone, address I arrive at another robo elevator stop. Poor music and repeating apologies for the wait, each usually over 10 minutes. Once you reach a human they inform you, as if it was your fault that your not at the correct help desk (even though it was another representative that transferred you). One hand does not know what the other hand is doing. I wish every the rare good fortune to luckedly get a human quickly that actually knows how to navigate and help you get the service that you pay for with your membership due. Well I've been on hold now for 15 minutes and transferred 4 time today. I going to hang up now

I have been a RCI member for about 6 years and have yet to have a pleasant experience with customer service or anyone that works at RCI/Wyndham Worldwide Corp. The people there are rude and think they can speak to you any kind of way. I have booked 4 trips with them one of them being a cruise and one I will be going to in Aug so of the 3 I have booked only one was good and that was to The Summit at Massanutten Resort. The cruise was the worst and now I am dealing with so-called customer service people that are condescension and just out right rude. As a business owner I would never treat my customers this way and would bend over for my customer. RCI feels they do not need and when you call their corp number they are just as bad if not worst, because they are Wyndham Worldwide Corp and not RCI. It is just layered so that no one has to take ownership of any customer issues and they can just keep passing the buck. I for one am tried of the BS I have been fed.

I called to reserve a vacation week in Daytona Bch Fl. I wanted a 1 Bedroom sleeps 4 with balcony. We were told we you had one. What we got was NOT WHAT WE CALLED TO RESERVE. It was a Suite? Pull out bed from the wall? No electrical outlet for husbands CPAP machine.? No balcony and the AC unit went out. There was only room enough for 2 people much less 4. So we had to call our daughter and granddaughter to tell them they could not come? RCI Emergency associate unable (or unwilling) to help us resolve this issue. We were booked for 7 days and had to leave on day 4. COULD NOT STAND THE UNIT. 3rd time RCI has mislead us in reservation.

The worstr expierience yet. Mislead us when we called to book a 1 bedroom unit. What we got was a closet and no help from RCI

Hi,
I just felt the need to air my frustration with RCI. It has been quite some time since I have been satisfied with my RCI membership but after talking to one of your representatives 2 days ago, I have had it. First and foremost, I can never find a vacation trade. The past few years all my trades have been through interval because with RCI and their points trading system, I have to use 3 or 4 of my timeshare weeks for 1 studio to trade. Crazy. Why would I ever do that when interval has a huge variety and I trade 1 timeshare for 1 timeshare. Secondly, there is a very small variety available on RCI whenever I look. It's so frustrating.
The other day I received a called from RCI. The representative seemed nice at first. I told her I just booked a cruise through interval on an exchange. She wanted to tell me what a wonderful deal she was going to give me. She offered me a land/sea cruise and then hit me with a 3600.00 price. I almost died. I very nicely told her that there was no way that could happen. I did not have that kind of money. She spent a few minutes trying to convince me of what a great deal I was getting and I told her that was simply out of the question she actually hung up on me. I was floored by her actions. The most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. This was the final deal breaker with RCI. That was the final deciding factor. I will not be renewing my membership with RCI.

Hello, I have been a member for over 10 years and I book multiple vacations yearly. I often have difficulty finding a location and a suitable resort for my family. Many of the customer service people are not informed and not very helpful and I often find myself frustrated after attempting to book a vacation. This should not be a stressful endeavor as planning a vacation should be something to look forward to. However, this year, I had the privelage to speak with Tabitha from the Indianapolis office. She was informed, polite, answered all of my many questions, booked a vacation that I am happy with and went above and beyond ti explain to me how to better use my membership, gave me helpful area information on the locations that I was interested in and explained how the platinim membership could help me given my vacation needs. I really appreciate her help and I hope that I am able to speak with her or other exceptional customer service employees in the future. Thank you so much, Tabitha! Yours Truly, Catherine Rude RCI member.

Very disappointed with our recent catamaran cruise. We exchanged two weeks for a 1 week all inclusive week of cruising. The boat was smaller than the other 2 Tradewind catamarans that were leaving the dock with our boat. Ours was overcrowded/overbooked with 12 people on board! We actually spoke to several people on the other 2 boats and were told both had an empty cabin and they were larger boats. The captain & his girlfriend/1st mate were extremely young (green) and did not have the gift for hospitality. They were very nice but it seemed forced, contrived and almost like 'we' were intruding on their space, their boat. The food was disappointing and since there were a total of 12 people on board, there was not much to go around. So much for all-inclusive. Same for liquor & beer. As a timeshare company such as RCI, I am surprised that you would use such a vendor as Tradewinds. I would not recommend Tradewinds as a cruise vacation when there are many other reputable good companies that offer the full hospitality that all vacationers are looking for. After all, we the vacationers and timeshare holders are ultimately the paying customer.

This has reference to my holiday booking for OOTY for the month of DEcember 2014. The holiday had been booked for . Soon after I start getting sms from RCI that the same destination holiday can be booked for the same period for .Despite contacting customer care no call backs have been arranged and the executives show absolute ignorance.A policy of avoiding the customer will get RCI nowhere. Absolutely disgusting service.

Hello. In April, 2014 I purchased a 7 night cruise and resort vacation and also got a bonus 7 night resort stay. I have made many phone calls asking questions about this purchase. I am getting discouraged about finding a resort stay to my liking. I have been a member of RCI for many years and am letting my membership go because of this issue.
I desperately would like to get out of this contract and would like my money back. I got nowhere by calling and talking to a travel associate.
Please tell me what steps I can take to do this. I have paid the entire amount of the purchase-$1799.92.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

we have been attempting to use our points for some time with little success. Dicovered recently that there are many units available but 95% are for RENTAL not exchange. As far as I am aware RCI is an exchange system not rental? we have already forfeited points and are certainly not planning on banking any in the future as we have close to 17thousand points which we cannot use. I have mailed customer care and also the consultant I usually deal with and had no results.
