Why did you give up on the good old Tecumseh engine? The new model engine is a pain to start if you can even get it started. My old Ariens was a 73 model and always started if the gas was a year old. The new blower is great but, the engine is a pain.

Ariens is a good brand. New snowblower. Failed immediately with an engine that backfired. Unfortunately, you can't just repair the carb - needed to order a new carb. All in all I can see that happening occasionally. BUT, I have had the snowblower at a certified Ariens dealer / repair for four months now and still not repaired. I get various excuses - part is back ordered, etc. Most recent they said they could see where the part was shipped and should be here in a couple of days. That was three weeks ago. Extremely frustrated.

I bought an Ariens compact snowblower a few years ago, it was my first snowblower, and it's been the worse piece of equipment I've ever owned!
I live in upstate NY and we just got 8 inches of snow and it keeps clogging up. Last month we had 4 inches of snow and it kept clogging up. It always floods.
The gas tank was metal and it rusted out about 2 years after I bought it. I had it serviced and the mechanic put a plastic gas tank on it.
I'd like a check for $50.00 from Ariens as this is the cost the snowplow driver just charged me to finish plowing the driveway!
I'll be selling this piece of junk and hopefully buying a snowblower that does what it's supposed to do!

I had an Ariens snowblower compact 24 for three years. Every year ir gives me nothing but trouble. First year it just died in middle of winter & i had to wait to get it serviced.
Second year the auger stopped working & i had to get it serviced. This year, with only one snowfall, The electric start died out & probably will get it serviced. I am going to put it up for sale & get some other brand. This snowblower was a piece of junk.

I bought an 36" Professional Ariens Snowblower with an EFI engine, model no. 926081. It cost me $5700. I paid the price because I wanted the "best" and wanted not to have to have any hassle. What a fool I was. I used it 4 times over 1 month, and after the 4th use it would no longer start. I charged the battery, as that is the first potential issue, I made sure the spark plug was fine, all nothing. After 4 uses and less than 1 month old, I had a $5700 brand new piece of useless metal. So, I tried to contact Ariens. What a joke that was. I registered the warranty the day I bought it, so I thought there should be no trouble as I already had my email and account information registered with them. I tried to contact their online support service. Ha. It refused to recognize my account. No worries, I said, I tried to reregister with the same email. It said "email already used". I tried to get a new password if that was the problem, but they never emailed it to me despite saying that it would. SO, I started a new account with a different email. Success! I was registered. Went over to the online support? It again said "no account" after I JUST HAD IT CONFIRMED a few minutes ago. So, the online support is useless.

So, I tried to phone. It took a while to find a phone number, as they do not make it prominent in their website. Eventually I phone it. I phoned. A surly person answers and tells me "yeah, sounds like a problem just take it in to your dealer" and then hangs up. Of course, the blower weighs 310 pounds and is large and not easy to transport.

SO, all I can say is that I wish I had never heard of the name Ariens. They make expensive equipment that won't work for even 1 month, and then go out of their way to avoid communicating with you: a hallmark of someone avoiding standing behind their stuff.

I am stuck with this orange elephant. I am sure that the dealer will somehow get it working again, but then it will probably do this again and again and again. Unreliable. Low quality. No service.

AVOID ARIENS PRODUCTS IF YOU CAN! Spare yourself the misery I am now in.

I received a new Ariens Classic 24 snow-thrower that I ordered from Lowes online. I was able to use the machine once- it started fine and did a good job of clearing my driveway. It shut down normally when finished, and I stored it in my workshop. A few days later I tried to use the machine again, and it would not start, all it did was backfire and cough. I had no luck reaching a live person at Ariens- their automated customer support recording tree consists of pointing you back to the dealer. I took the machine into Lowes and they tried pointing me back to Ariens. After a lot of back and forth, I gave up on getting any actual customer support with this issue, and I instead insisted on a full return. I had to talk to 2 managers but they finally did give me a full refund back to my credit card. I've read good reviews about Ariens, but sorry, never again...

I have a walk behind self propelled Ariens mower I bought 6/20 that has since been discontinued. I took it to dealer I bought from 6/22 due to starting issues, won't restart by pull or the electric start when warm. Been without mower all season. No phone or e-mail response from Ariens product rep. Zilch

My name is Donnie Perkins and I can promise you that this company will never get another dime of mine for your inferior product. I purchased a IKONXD 60 inch cut that I've repeatedly had to have the drive belt put back on and the hydraulics replaced. Yes it is under warranty but my time and gas money isn't. I've asked that maybe there is something default in the mower and your warranty seems to think that I should just keep taking it to the shop and have it fixed. I'm not asking for my hard earned money back, I'm asking you to replace the mower and stand behind your product.

I have an Ariens snowblower and the cables to control the auger and movement keep breaking. I've spoken to customer service and sent messages to technical. I've ordered parts that Fedex has tied up in the chicago terminal for 11 days now Ariens is checking on it. I tried to call the corporate office and the operator doesn't have any extensions but technical and customer service (why have corporate even listed) for being such a renowed company your customer service has a lot to be desired. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN ARIENS PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

6 yr old Ariens snowblower is junk, literally. Needs a new engine. Had a 22 yr old Craftsman that I sold still working well and bought this as it was supposedly one of the best. Yr 3 had carburetor work done. Wouldn't buy another one and now can't access their site to lodge a complaint, wouldn't accept my password now just keeps saying there's an issue and keep trying, obviously they don't want to hear from anyone. Don't buy Ariens

Purchased a riding mover less than 3 years ago, what a piece of Junk, had to have it repaired 3 times, even dealer does not want to repair. Struck with this, do not buy a riding mower, they are not reliable at all.

Reading the comments on this page confirms the saying: "They don't make them like they used to". I bought an Ariens ST824 Snowblower in 1981 - and it has been the best piece of equipment I have ever owned. Living in Alberta, Canada I get my share of snow. Again yesterday, one pull and I was off to get the job done. LOVE that machine.

Purchased a compact 24 snowblower thru home depot in 2015. Had trouble starting the snowblower since day one of purchase. Home depot had a guy come out to my house to help start it after purchased. Kudos to home Depot. Have not used the snowblower since 2015. But it's now 2017 and the snowblower will not start once again. Tried a number of troubleshooting steps but no start. I've spoken to a number of people who are having the same problem with ariens snowblowers. So once I get the snowblower started I'm going to sell this garbage. Will never by another ariens product again!

I bought a new Ariens snow blower recently and was surprised that it did not include a power cord to use with the electric start feature. According to the dealer one is not included. So after spending $1200 for a machine I need to spend another $20 or so for a power cord. Did you ever buy a vehicle and not have a key to make it run? Ariens should think about changing what appears to me as an extremely "cheapskate image".

I called three separate days early October regarding a promotional item, its November 4th and still no one has contacted me. Shame on Ariens. Never again will I purchase any of your products.

I just bought an Ariens Razor self propelled lawn mower. Excited I opened the box, living about 20 miles away from Brillion, and knowing people who work at your company, I was happy to know that my hard earned money was being used to help support fellow Wisconsinites. Nothing on the packaging said anything about where the engine was made, even when I unpacked the box, the only indication that the engine wasn't made in the USA was the Chinese letters on a Lincon Co letter in the Lit packet. So I looked up where your engines are made. I was extremely disappointed! I almost returned your product. At least other companies mark their packaging I did expect more from a Wisconsin Co. Especially since you could put an American made engine on your lawn mower made by a fellow Wisconsin Co. Or at least an American made Briggs. I did expect more from a family owned Wisconsin Company.

When my Ariens was 20 months old and had less than 50hrs of service the transmission failed. I transported my Arens to a dealership and at this point I have waited five weeks for a repair. I cannot afford a new transmission and apparently the Ariens warranty does not cover transmissions. So the dealership has ordered the parts necessary to rebuild the original transmission and after 5 weeks I am still waiting for the parts. Ariens apparently will sell a new transmission but drags there feet when it comes to the parts for the rebuild I can afford. I am 73 and disabled and cannot afford a new transmission.

I was involved in a motorcycle crash where I was pronounced dead at the scene. I am disabled and working my way back to health.
I cannot shovel even the littlest amount of snow. I went to Home Depot to purchase a new reliable snow blower. The East Springfield store on Boston road is where I have purchased all my large appliances. That is the only place I will go. The service is second to none. I was told that the Ariens ST24LE-Compact would do the job. I bought it online and was assembled by Taplin Power equipment and delivered to my house in Nov2013.
It was a bad winter and on the 3rd time i used it the chute belt came off blowing 3 inches of snow. Lou the manager at Home Depot sent a repair man to my house to put belt back on in below zero weather. This fix seemed to work for a while.
This year has been short on snow but when I went to blow 2 inches of snow belt came off again. Lou again sent his men when they found that 3 of the 4 bolts that attach the chute to the main frame had snapped off. They said this should have never happened.
I am only clearing a four car flat driveway and am mechanically inclined. I am very up to date on all my maintenance.
SNAPPED OFF I never hit or ran over anything. I am now without a snow blower.
I talked to Lou and they are trying to repair this problem. There is snow on the way and he offered to send men tomorrow to clear my driveway if I don,t have my blower back. The world should be full of men like this. Great Manager
I am going to buy a riding lawn mower next year and iI liked the look of the Areins. I would like to give your company the business. I would appreciate compensation for this misery. Maybe a break in the price of your lawn mower. Please don't ignore this letter. I have a copy of it and would like finish it with how great your company handles there customers.

I recently got a rock aproxamitly 3"x5" jammed in the auger. The shear pin did it's job. After removing some bolts to my surprise nothing was bent. Quite a machine

I called customer service and talked to both Andria and Georgian. So nice friendly and so knowledgeable. Can't get better customer service. Thank you both for solving my problem quickly
