I tried ordering a CarFax report on 9/29/16 and could not establish my logon. When I could not get the report I decided to seek other alternatives expecting to NOT be charged since I could not get through.

The next day I received an email from CarFax apologizing for the computer glitch and stating I could now attempt to get my sign on and to contact CarFax if my Card was charged more than once.

I check my credit card online and it was immediately charged $39.99 on 9/29/16. Did not seem to have any issues charging me $39.99, even with no assigned logon.

It is now October 5, 2016 and I have spent five days attempting to get a number to call CarFax. I get no response to my email sent five days ago, the chat function does not work, and there appears to be no way for me to get my @39.99 credited to my credit card or to speak with a live body.

I am extremely upset I was charged, never received a report, and now cannot communicate with a Customer Service Agent.

This organization has a total lack of service. Five days and cannot even reach a live body. What a joke!

I too was overcharged by CarFax. They charged me $69.99 instead of the USAA website rate of $31.99. Too may people are facing the same dilemma. It's a heck of a way to make a great profit, but they lost me as a customer in doing so. I smell a rat!

I ordered a single carfax report on pickup I was buying for 39.99 received report but credit card was charged 79.99. tried to contact thru computer site and got no responses for over a week. call customer support and was told there was nothing she could do for me and no one to transfer me to. went to their website and evidently this is a problem with them. every one said they either didn't get report or were charged for unlimited when only 1 was ordered. my credit card company checked consumer reports and found same thing. has turned into scam company. be careful.

I was also charged 69.99 for the $39 dollar plans that I purchased. I have disputed with my credit card company and they are taking careof it and making the adjustment. Tried to reach someone at Carfax and of course could not. In my research(after the fact) I found that they have a history of this. I had already paid $16.95 for a report through another service but since it did not have a lot of information I thought it must be inferior to Carfax but as it turns out that was not th case. A report is only as good as the past information reported on a vehicle. Not all wrecks get reported etc. Will not us them again.

I requested for a car report almost 24 hours ago and i have not received any. I have called and kept endlessly to await next customer person. I was readily charged almost $70. Should I consider my money lost or can I get a refund and forget your services in totality. I am a very, very disappointed customer

I purchased a single carfax and was charged for five. I called the corporate office and Amy was extremely rude. She told me she wouldn't help me. She wouldn't transfer me to a supervisor. WHAT A SCAM!!
I will never use your service again and I'll be sure to tell all my friends and family how Carfax stole from me.

I purchased a vehicle with a green title. After owning for 2 years I decided to take it to a dealership for a trade in. Dealership shows my vehicle as a total loss on carfax. Contacted Secretary of State to find out NMVTIS does not show vehicle as a total loss and carfax has incorrect information. Contacted carfax and they are still persistent the vehicle is a total loss. So they are saying Secretary of State, my credit union and my insurance company are wrong. I don't think so. I requested they correct the information and they want the insurance information from me about the supposed accident. It wasn't my vehicle at the time they say the vehicle was totaled. No insurance company will discuss someone else's claim. They are requesting information I can not provide in order to fix their mistakes. Now the value of my car is pennies for what I owe on it due to their incorrect information! Extremely frustrating.

Dealership ran a carfax on my truck and it showed a frontend collision with air bag deployment, this never happened. how do I get this corrected. Please respond as I have no intention of not pursuing this matter even if it means the BBB or investigative news channel.

Have been trying to reach Carfax. Looking to possibly purchase a 1960 Corvette. The Your site states it should have 17 letters and/or numbers. However, it only has 12 numbers. So, how do I get a report???

It's 3pm in California and I can't do any business with you due to no real person help.

I have tried 2 times to get one report and the website just sends me an email and it leads me right back at the beginning or ordering a report. I hope my credit card has not billed me twice. Get the personnel you need and give us a phone number with a real person till at least 6 pm CA time.

They do not check their facts.they added to my car report that the vehicle had been stolen,which is false,i have tracked down the report,make and model match but vin does not, my vehicle never reported stolen.cost me money on trade in ,thank you for you're mistake.a asked for phone number to rectify problem,good luck. Hire people to transpose letters and numbers correctly so as to not screw up people's reports

Carfax did not report the history of my 2006 Saturn Vue correctly. Is it Carfax or the DOMV fault? I bought my car new and had it for 11 years. In excellent conditions with regular maintenance. For some reason, Carfax classified my car as branded Title: Not actual mileage? Something happened when I relocated from MO to KS and not actual mileage title issued? What does that mean?

To whom it may concern, yesterday, June 3, 2016, I ordered a Vehicle History Report for. I ordered my report and gave my banking information on-line. Today, I was notified by Bank of America that my account had been compromised and a charge of $401.00 had been made in Jamaica, New York, to Wallgreen, in addition to your fee. I bought a used Mercedes and got screwed. Much of my decision to buy the car was based on what the carfax report showed. It didn't show possible accident and paint job plus the service record was a sham.

My name is James Postick. I tried to sell my car. Vin Ford F-150. Everyone said they are not paying $20,000 for a car that has been in a huge wreck. I didn't understand, so my neighbor said he knew I kept care of it so he was going to buy it. He then checked CARFAX history and called me a liar. That cost me $20,000!!!!!! I then went to TATE in Glen Burnie MD, phone number they said no because it had a bad CARFAX?!!!!! What I said. So your stupid people had now cost me thousands due to the fact my F150 never had an airbag deployment.....VERIFIED BY MY DAMN INSURANCE. NOT ONLY DID IT SAY THAT,WHICH IS UNTRUE, BUT IT ALSO SAID IT WAS A COMMERCIAL RENTAL VEHICLE.!! NOTHING IS CORRECT ON MY HISTORY REPORT SO YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER!!!! I am sending all my information from GIECO to you. I will settle out of court if necessary but I have to make all these phone calls and lost my dream JEEP because of you. It was going to be a MOTHERS DAY present but you all ruined that. My neighbor will also be in court to verify. You should be ashamed. All you have to do is report what happened to a vehicle and in my report nothing was correct...almost like it was the wrong owner and car. Not like you give a sh.t about my sob story but you cost me thousands and a great surprise to my wife. I am in tears... A grown man in tears. Thanks a lot . RIP OFF OF THE WORST KIND!!!!!!!!!!!! $43.99 (after USAA discount) for an unlimited package that ONLY COMES with 5 vin number reports? What good are unlimited license plates runs in a state where the license plates belong to the owner and are transferred from vehicle to vehicle. Carfax used to give unlimited Vin number runs for $30 for 30 days of use. Now I pay $43.99 or $54.99 for 5 reports and a worthless unlimited feature? Run these greedy pigs out of business.

I cannot tell you how disappointed with your product and how deceived I feel your organization treats consumers. I purchased your "unlimited" CarFax reports today. I was concerned when your link stated "license plate", because I had a hunch this was truly not an "unlimited" option. However, after searching your site for a description of what differentiated VIN's and license plates without success, I gave your unlimited purchase option a try. What a mistake, after spending $55 I received only five VIN reports (and nowhere was it mentioned how many I had remaining after each successive VIN run until I expired what I assume is the true maximimum number of reports). Since, I have attempted to run a license plate report because this remains my only option. When I ran my first report it came back as "no report available". Really, this is your game, you sell people on the concept of unlimited and then make reports off-limits after a meager number. Your organization should be ashamed with how you wittingly dupe consumers. Truly, unlimited for however long, should not place limits on how the end user ustilizes your product.
I cannot tell you the last time I felt compelled to complain to an organization, because I rarely feel so disappointed in a product that I prefer to spend my valuable time writing than with my family. However, in this case I believe I need to share my disappointment. To be fair, I will hold off for a couple of days In hope that I might receive a response from your company describing a reasonable solution. If this does not happen, I plan to share my displeasure via social media so that thiis story may save at least a few other unsuspecting customers the expense and trouble of dealing with your company.

CARFAX is the biggest fraud in car reports! I had an accident in Towson MD 5 yrs ago and now trading in the car, I found that CARFAX erroneously reported the airbags deployed. Since this was going to cost about $4500.00 in trade, I contacted them (by email of course) with a letter from the OFC involved. He explained in his letter that CARFAX is in the habit of misinterpreting their codes and that the airbags did not deploy. Robin, and her supervisor, obviously can't read very pain English and are refusing to change the report stating that the OFC is wrong! He was on site, they hide behind their computers. I even offered to send them the insurance company's repair list, showing that the airbag was not replaced. They didn't understand that either. CARFAX helps only one entity, the dealers. Shame on you!

I used Carfax for a check on a vehicle on 03/07/2016. I was charged for 5 reports!! One report was not mine. It was a Siera or something.. Who does this belong to? I have several devices so I should not be charged 5 times@ $39.99! I did read that I had until March 22 to look at the same report.
