I keep getting phone calls from they claim they are just doing a survey for edward jones. I told them to remove me from the list and the keep calling. I never gave permission for Edward Jones to give my phone number to a out source survey company. I'm really upset that they would do that and what else did they give out? I'm pulling my money out and going somewhere else.

If you like poor customer service with
Edward Jones in the Morristown Tn area
I would advise using Brenda Moore as
your agent. Your calls will not be returned.
Never will your questions be answered.
Also beware of request for power of attorney.
If you have a POA for a person who really needs a POA the company will refuse to approve it. Certainly not a good company to
do business with.

I opened an account just to see what they could accomplish. I found the commissions to be too expensive. So I transferred my account back to Schwab because we have dealt with them and they have low affordable commissions. The broker Zach Holtzman at Edward Jones in Lubbock TX was extremely rude in his response. Totally unprofessional and a bad representative for Edward Jones.
Schwab is a much better choice! They are always friendly and professional.

Edward Jones is not interested in resolving a complaint about illegal practices - unauthorized trading, manipulation, and others - they throw up meaningless rhetoric and denials rather than admit the truth. Exhorbitant fees for the pleasure of having my money drained.

Edward Jones is not interested in resolving issues, only in "so sad too bad" wall for someone who has been illegally treated by an EJ salesman (they call him a Financial Advisor but that is definitely not the case!).

The customer service representative I spoke to was rude and talked constantly, allowing little time for me to talk. When I tried to talk, he loudly said, "Time out, time out."

I mistakenly opened an Edward Jones account because the "Edward Jones Salesman" convinced my father in-law that placing his money with him was a sound investment. My wife wanted our money to be with the same guy, Chad Fertil in Melbourne, FL. So I switched my Retirement Account to Edward Jones with Chad Feril as the financial Advisor. Well, I researched a lot of investments online and found many that do not charge the same Fee's as the Advisory Solutions platform with Edward Jones. Another problem I have with Chad Fertil is that he insisted that I get a Power of Attorney in case something should happen to me. Well, unfortunately I did and this basically STOPS me from making any changes to "MY" IRA account at Edward Jones and if I should try to change, Chad Fertil will instantly call my wife and use her as the means to Stop me from making any changes. This is wrong and I am sorry I transferred my IRA to Edward Jones.

The first time I met a local Edward Jones advisor in Portland Oregon, he used loud voices almost like yelling while having conversation with me and while showing his way of investing to me. I think that is a violence tactic. It is almost like psychological abuse. It is almost against the law and he can be sued for doing that. So to people out there, be looked out for getting yelled at when you are at an Edward Jones office.

BEWARE!!! I worked with one Edward Jones rep. who said he would handle our retirement savings. This guy promptly lost more than 70K of our money. Switched to another Edward Jones rep.who said he would get our losses back and we trusted him.Since I don't know much about investing he said he would review our account daily and make adjustments as necessary. This guy lost more than 100K.not alot left for our retirement thanks to Edward Jones and their incompetence.rep BILL PLANETA threw our money away or used it for toilet paper.

I'm amazed at the incompetence of representatives at the central branch. I usually know more than they do and they fiddle faddle around, botching things left and right. My local advisor admitted that these are often just trainees--yet these are the people that one must rely on as back-ups. There is this veneer of "niceness" that is used to cover up the lack of knowledge. Don't expect any issue resolution. There will be lots of expressions of concern and apology, but nothing will be done. I've had key paperwork sit on representatives' desks for weeks during holiday party season. And I've had traders who hardly had basic knowledge of bond trading, yet they were handling my orders.

My husband selected Edward Jones as a financial adviser for a wide variety of needs ranging from life insurance to investments. However, after a six year relationship with Ken Garcia, agent of Edward Jones from the Sarasota, FL office he terminated our account after my husband switched money from Edward Jones to another broker.

The reason for the switch was because the mutual funds purchased through Edward Jones were performing worse than other comparable investments. It is hard to compete when the agent takes approximately a 4.75% fee out of the investment at the beginning along with management fees and a fee of $120 annually which was required for us to do business with Edward Jones.

We often questioned the fees, but it was explained to us that these shares, referred to as Class A were superior than other mutual funds we purchased from Fidelity and Vanguard.

We later learned after we lost a lot of money that the primary difference with the shares purchased from our broker was that he would take out his commissions ($475 per $10,000 of investments) upfront plus all the other fees charged by Edward Jones.

The minute my husband switched money from Edward Jones we were sent a letter stating he, Ken Garcia no longer wants to do business with my family and we should look for another firm.

He removed his name as the agent of record from the life insurance policy he recently sold me and we were told not to do business with Edward Jones. I felt we should get a refund on the commissions we paid him for the life insurance policy; since he refused to work with us.

Extremely disappointed with Edward Jones and had numerous bad experiences in the Sarasota, FL office as the broker selling me mutual funds was more interested in earning commissions than servicing my financial needs.

I was also often mislead as the broker kept telling me how much money my family was making and would never answer my questions when I questioned the statements. In fact, he did a good job of misleading my family for years by carefully selecting his words. I finally conducted an analysis with an outside person to learn that I was paying $550 more per $10,000 of investments with Edward Jones than other comparable investments with Fidelity and Vanguard which performed much better.

I discussed this with my agent at Edward Jones and that instance after a 6 year relationship when I opted to switch monies to Fidelity and Vanguard my wife and I noticed a sudden change in his behavior towards us.

In fact, he quickly terminated our relationship and removed himself as the agent of record from a life insurance policy he recently sold my wife. I was then sent a termination letter stating that Edward Jones did not want to work with my family and closed my account.

I requested a refund on the commission for the life insurance policy he recently sold us, because he removed me himself as the agent of record on that account.

He obviously refused and I was faced with nearly $800 of termination fees.

i had investments with edward jones 25 years. delt with 5 different advisors all of which gave me bad advise. in twenty five years the only people that made money was edward jones and the advisors. then even on closing the accounts they still charged me another 285 dollars. which i pulled my money years ago. even a bank would of been a better place for my money

pulled my mutual funds right before the crash. once the market started to tank I told my broker the old " I told you so" he replied that it was just a correction. wow! what a correction that was. brokers for EJ want to sell you mutual funds just so they can collect load fees and sit on their cans gossiping all day! well I since pulled everythinf paper and am only invested in hard assests! anybody with sense should have done the same!

Haste makes waste. BOA took over ML right around the crash, and then there was the walkout of brokers to the Swiss bank. My ML broker was suddenly swamped. I felt he no longer had time for me. At a friend's suggestion, I jumped and moved the account to Mark Fortier in North Carolina. I told him I did not want 4 funds sold, I had class A shares. That he could unload the other 3 and put them in the Advisory Solutions account. He kept at me to put it all in there and I finally agreed. I did keep track of what the old funds did in regard to the Advisory. After 9 months, there was about 100,000 difference. I started showing discontent. Finally, 4 months later, 2/11 the difference was about 150,000. I really started questioning things, I was told how great the Advisory was and how it would beat my old holdings. At that point he told me he could no longer handle my account. That very day, I moved to a local EJ office with the understanding that I was going back to ML within a week. The secretary asked me to please speak to her boss.Gary Barbara, I met with him. It was a disaster, he wanted me in annuities and sorry funds. I was about to walk, he asked me for another chance. I told him exactly which stocks I wanted, and finally he agreed. But he branched me out some. He sold me on TEF, STD, TOT, because of the higher dividends. He was not aware of the foreign tax. I was not either. He also sold me on GTY, 2 months earlier they lost their largest lease. Within a few months, all his recommendations plunged, value and dividends as well. Fortunately I had my suggestions to hold the account up. In the end, his secretary told me it is best to move the account. From what I have experienced it is all about the commissions and fees. I am leaving EJ, fortunately I still have money.

I have left EJ and filed a complaint with them about the 2 mentioned brokers. They offered no resolution. Mr. Barbara's office suddenly closed a few months ago, and I understand he is no longer with the company.

Tried to call this number for generic paperwork to make withdrawals and they were no help at all. Customer Service stinks.

Edward Jones is a terrible company. They consistently loose money on the accounts they manage, and worst of all - they are very unreliable and are making mistakes that could cost you a lot of money.

After changing jobs I was stupid enough to transfer 401k to Edward Jones, and I also opened Roth IRA account with them to add more money to the retirement fund. Edward Jones managed to loose a lot of money on both, and after few years I rolled over 401k from Edward Jones to the 401k in the new company I joined.

After few years to my great surprise I received a letter from IRS saying that their records show that I withdraw cash from that Edward Jones account and they want me to pay tax and penalty on it.

Apparently Edward Jones incorrectly reported 401k rollover and marked it as "withdrawal" rather than rollover, despite of having all information and receiving company letter etc.

I don't know whether Edward Jones people did it by mistake or on purpose (which would be even worse), but this is very irresponsible and unprofessional behavior for the financial company.

They are great sales people tell you ever thing you want to hear to get your account. but it is a hassle to get your money out and close the account. I am still in the process of trying to get the account closed 2 years later. When I was closing the account my account manager didn't have time to deal with me. I went by his office three times and his secretary said she would have him call. No response. What a hassle!

Over a 3 year period they lost over $70,000 from poor investing advice. You can not reach them to sell or buy stocks on a timely basis. Stay away from this company they are truly a broker firm.
