The worst company I've ever had to deal with. wouldn't use them again if they were the only domain company.

GoDaddy.com is the worst company ever! I bought and registered a domain name, only to have my purchase cancelled. A Go Daddy employee then purchased the domain and the company is now offering an auction for the domain for $5000! I bought it for 12! Sleazy!!!!!

Their advertisements are pointless and degrade women. No wonder they need to sell sex, the majority of the reviews on here are negative.

I used Go Daddy's domain name search. I was trying to come up with something for my new phpFox site. I ended up with miraclebay.com. I then called my friend to hear his opinion about the name. We talked for 15 minutes and then I went back to register the domain name. All of a sudden the domain was parked with Go Daddy by Go Daddy.

They are nothing but thieves. Never, never use Go Daddy...

SSL certificates were coming back as not trusted for several hours today from different computers in my city. Someone must have report it because they all come back as trusted this afternoon.

We are having the same issue Richard. They keep blaming it on the local telephone company who we get our internet from. Seems funny that the internet works fine, just not our site and email that is hosted thru go daddy:(

Go Daddy's servers are not working in my area. Buckeye-Express internet provider is sending data to Go daddy, but Go Daddy's servers are not sending data back. So, if you try to access any site housed at Go Daddy, you can NOT get it to come up. More than 8 hours ago the problem was reported to Go Daddy by the internet provider and still no fix.
Boo Go Daddy- especially when I called them and they said they have no information concerning the problem.

With Go Daddy customer service, it's always "your fault", I get so sick and tired of this attitude, I switched 4 months ago and every month my email, which is Outlook goes down. EVERY time I have called it has been a technical problem on their end, but their holier than thou customer service attitude is really getting pissy! It's time they take the high road and help after all we pay their salaries!

I too made the irritating mistake of buying a domain from godaddy.com and privacy protection from domainsbyproxy.com their sister company. The original call and sales experience were pleasant enough and I was led to believe that I would have control over my domain(s) and accounts. Ha! Nothing could be further from the truth, as I would soon find out.
I wasn’t long after purchasing my domain that I started getting marketing emails offering me deals and specials and wanting me to buy more. I hadn’t really used my domain yet and decided now was a good time to at least log in and see if I could set some marketing preferences. After looking around for a while, I decided to just call and cancel the account because I wasn’t using it anyway, and stopping annoying email took precedence over any plans I had for using the domain until I developed a more solid plan of how to use it.
I called and chatted with the rep and explained that I wanted to cancel my account and (in particular) have my email address removed from their distribution list of sending out marketing and advertising crap! After a solid half an hour on the phone verifying my information, name, address, telephone number, pin, email address and domain name, I was told that the account would be cancelled and that a confirmation form had been sent to my email address. Fine!
Right?, NO! What I got was a form basically demanding that I send in a photocopy of my government issued ID or driver’s license along with this completed request form. Apparently despite the fact that I had called in using the same phone number used during account creation, and the same address, email, PIN, etc. since I want to cancel, they now are not able to verify that it’s really me that wants to cancel. Naturally in this day and age of identity theft and the complete lack of accountability or responsibility on the part of businesses that collect, process or maintain personal information, my first (and remaining) thought on this is 43LL NO! That’ll be the last thing that they may get from me aside from another cent of my money!
I logged onto my domainsbyproxy.com account and found that the domain I wanted to cancel is still there (not cancelled as requested) and now, has the “auto-renew” flag set (which I did not set and cannot remove). I’ve searched around the web and found multiple tips and tricks to remove this, but none of them work.
My domain has now expired and I have no intention of renewing but godady.com and domainsbyproxy.com still keep sending me emails requesting payment, along with a link to their end user agreement. Well as far as I am concerned they will not see another cent from me nor will I ever entertain the thought of doing business with them again. I’m hoping anyone considering such a stupid move, reads this first and reconsiders. I wish I had done more research before I got involved with these losers! You’ve been told.

WE HIRED GODADDY.COM TO GET US OFF A BLACKLIST AT SORBS-DUHL CAUSED BY A TROJAN HORSE VIRUS WE DID NOT KNOW WAS SPEWING SPAM FROM ONE OUR CORPORATE COMPUTERS. WE HAD THE VIRUS REMOVED AND CONTACTED GODADDY TO GET US OFF THE BLACKLIST.

THEY SAID THEY COULD DO THAT BUT FIRST HAD TO HAVE US AS A CUSTOMER FOR OUR DOMAIN SITE; WEB HOSTING; AND OUR WEB SITE HOSTING.

WE DID THAT AND THEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE - EVERYTHING WENT DOWN (EMAIL AND WEBSITE).

WE CONTACTED GOTODADDY ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT WE WERE LIED TO - THEY COULD NEVER HAVE GOT US OFF THE BLACKLIST - ONLY OUR ISP PROVIDER COULD DO THAT WHICH THEY DID.

WE CANCELLED GOTODADDY'S "SERVICES" AND NOW THEY HAVE SHUT DOWN OUR ENTIRE COMPANY'S EMAIL SYSTEM AND WEBSITE UNTIL WE PAY THEM A $52.00 "ADMIN FEE" TO REINSTATE OUR EMAIL AND WEBSITE - AS I STATED TO THEM: PURE BLACKMAIL.

WE HAVE GONE TO THE ANTI COMPETITION BUREAU IN CANADA AND THEY HAVE IN TURN RECOMMENDED WE CONTACT THE POLICE WHICH WE HAVE DONE.

IN THE MEANTIME, WE ARE EFFECTIVELY OUT OF BUSINESS.

WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE ANYWHERE - THEY SHOULD BE PROSECUTED BY THE US AUTHORITIES FOR SUCH CONDUCT.

AMEN

My husband was notified in Jan, 2012 that his domain name had been dropped by Godaddy. When we contacted customer service, we advised them that they did not send a renewal to us. The company made us jump through hoops to renew, however, when advised the company that we are a sm. seasonal business and our license is only for certain times of the year. We sent the company 2011 license and they did not accept this. We have had to change our .com to .net and have lost visibility for new business on google. This company really sucks!

BuyDomains nd GoDaddy make big money in the domain resale market. Recently, they wanted to buy one of my domain names and I was not interested in selling. At the time, I had my domain names registered with GoDaddy. When I logged in to my GoDaddy account to renew one of my domains, the checkout for credit card was unavailable so I paid via PayPal thinking everything is ok. The next month, I logged in to my GoDaddy account to renew another domain, again, the checkout for credit card was unavailable so I figured I would again pay via PayPal, but this time, GoDaddy blocked my PayPal account from paying. Interesting I thought. I would not sell one of my domains and now I can't renew my domains with GoDaddy? Domain Mongers!!! I no longer do business with either GoDaddy or BuyDomains. They stink!!!

Bought a domain at Godaddy, renewed it automatically next year and they charged my card and sent receipt of successful renewal. HOWEVER, they didn't renew it! They just took the money. So domain was eventually taken by a domain shark, Godaddy was not willing to get my domain back from the shark (would likely cost thousands) only offering ca $10 refund. We spent millions on marketing our brand.

I have been with GoDaddy for several years and have been very happy. they have slowly been raising their prices over the last couple of years, (that's ok to a extent) however now that all of this fuss is going on they have dropped their prices. Hmm. They should have kept prices the same for customers that have been with them since day one. I asked if they would credit me for the last years rate hikes on (34) domains and they said no. Thats their choice of course. My choice is to transfer all domains to antother company.. starting today..

go daddy definitely steals domain names. IF YOU SEARCH with their name search. It is that they give it to someone else to register and resell it.

People should know go daddy are domain name thieves.DO NOT USE THEIR SEARCH ENGINE to search for name.

They stole mine my254.com a day after I searched and found it there.
What are the chances for that? Mark you I am not the only one with that
complaint. go daddy are domain name squatters.Be warned. Do not use their name search engine.A day later if your name is sensible, It will be with someone else.

Hi

I have been with GoDaddy for about six months. They are quite cheap but I am now moving to something more expensive as their support is much better

My main discust with GoDaddy is today, they switched off my entire server with 30 websites that make me daily income because of 1 complaint, about 1 of my sites...so in their eyes that means suspend my entire server?? Why not just the 1 domain?

I responded to their copyright department after the complaint, saying I will remove the domain entirely and to turn my server back on right away

3 hours later, still no response! They expect me in the Uk to call an international number to speak to someone, who never answers!

I will force my files out of them and move to another company. THEY SUCK!

I have been a GoDaddy customer since the beginning, but no longer. I simply can't stand by while those fools continue to let their customer service standards slide. They were once great, but now are like most other companies that grew too fast. Long wait times and being forced to deal with support staff that clearly can't help with anything other than trying to sell more products. Goodbye GoDaddy.

After deciding to transfer domains from GoDaddy, it has been a hastle. I unlocked our domain and got the access code but ended up getting a notice from DomainsByProxy.com saying the transfer was declined because it was a Private Domain. We are paying extra to GoDaddy to keep our contact info private and this stops us transferring a domain? So I click on Manage Privacy and up pops a login for DomainsByProxy.com and it's a different login than GoDaddy and one I have never set up. So I request my ID and once I receive that I request a reset of the password. Now I get an error - Reset Failed. This is no accident from the largest domain registrar in the world. You better believe that every click is designed with one thing in mind, keeping your domain where they want it. Save yourself the grief, don't go to daddy.

Bought a .de domain (German). On renewal, I renewed it correctly and got a receipt for successful renewal. BUT they failed to actually renew the domain, only charge for it. So a domain shark bought the domain. Godaddy didn't give a *&%! They simply offered a tiny refund, not to get the domain back.

Approximately a year ago, Go Daddy billed my account for something and began the process of cancelling my account when I still had over a year left on my contract. Someone in the customer service department was very helpful and resolved the issue. I renewed my Go Daddy Domain for two more years because I assumed that this was a one-time error with this company. This July, I received similar e-mails for an auto renew on an item. I incorrectly assumed that it was the same issue that had been taken care of previously. In short, Go Daddy billed me for an additional e-mail account that I didn't even realize was not a part of my original purchased package. By billing me for this $16.27, it caused my account to go overdraft. I called on August 1st and explained that the charge was not wanted. The charge was reversed and the customer service representative said that he would put it for a reimbursement of the $25 fee for the "overdraft" on Go Daddy's part. I contacted my bank to ask them to reverse the $30 fee that this charge had caused. They asked for a letter from GoDaddy explaining that the bill was erroneous and was reversed. When I spoke with Aaron today by phone, he was a bit short and curt with me. I finally asked him for a supervisor and how to cancel my relationship with GoDaddy. He came back on the phone a few minutes later and asked for the fax number and contact name of my bank. I provided this information and again restated what information the bank needed. A fax was sent to my bank, but it contained no identifying information (a letterhead identifying the fax as having come from GoDaddy), nor did it state the reason for the charge or the reversal of the charge. Upon arriving home, I again called GoDaddy and again spoke with Aaron. He advised me that what was accomplished was all that could be done on the part of GoDaddy. I again asked for a supervisor and was put in contact with his supervisor, Steve. Steve, too was short with me and continually cut me off, providing an answer for a question I had not posed. I was told from Steve that what they did for me was a "courtesy" and that the legal department would not permit them to send a fax with an identifying name on the letterhead, nor a contact name/number should my bank have any questions. I asked Steve to escalate me to a higher supervisor and he stated that he was the highest supervisor that I would be permitted to speak with. I asked him for a corporate name or contact so that I could write a letter of dissatisfaction and he stated that I could send an email to the "Suggestion" inbox. When I explained that I wanted to speak to another person, he stated that I could not do this. When I asked if I could receive a refund for the year left on my domain name contract, he told me that since it was paid "a long time ago" that I was not entitled to any refund and that domain names are non-refundable. If this is truly the case, then I am "stuck" with maintaining my account with GoDaddy until July of next year when I will cancel and discontinue my relationship and satisfaction with this organization.
I will attempt to contact someone in Corporate about my dissatisfaction as well as file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am only asking that Go Daddy submit a letter to my bank explaining that the charge was not one that I had asked for and was erroneous. I am very upset that this $16.27 charge has cost me $55 in bank fees.

The WORST customer service ever! You can't get anyone on the phone and the automated service hangs up on you. They might return an email the next day. They don't provide on-line chat like everyone else. I agree with the person about running away, not walking. I will as soon as I can get in contact with them!

I've been using GoDaddy for a month now because of my friend but recently I encountered some issues which turns to be disappointing. I've called their customer support many time but they always tell you that they will fix that problem right away. The truth is they're not working at it then I happen to land on a website, http://best-inexpensive-web-hosting.com/godaddy-sucks-scam explaining things clearly. So I've decided to cut-off with GoDaddy from now on.

After my last posting, my website (I am a Webmaster) has been totally lost by Go Daddy. I am helping an old high school and learned as a Network Administrator in the Army "Backup, Backup, Backup". I can rebuild his webpage but he relied on Go Daddy as they were his only backup after a power surge zapped his computer recently. Spent 2 hours with Go Daddy help Tech. today. Unhappy but I did not take it out on the help desk, he was polite and courtious while doing the best he could do to find the lost files. My friend has nearly 2 years left in his prepaid plan and I had to give the bad news to him today. Visit www.caseyyoung.biz and see our under construction page and see "Go Daddy's Web Migration Tool".
