Please give Sonny, Melina, and Sasha big raises. They were an oustanding help to this know nothing about technology person. I would question if Aram knows what he is doing. If I need help again and get him, I will hang up. Thank those three wonderful people for their patience with me and thank you for a product I can afford. I am so happy with magicjack. I have had Magicjack for abour three years. I do not use it as a main line. As a matter of fact, I seldom use it at all, unless I am calling someone that owes me money (It has a different area code than mine, gets them every time) I have one thing to say though. I travel often to Mexico, and last year I through in my Magicjack and an old phone with my laptop. Guess what! Got a signal, and was able to phone home whenever I wanted. Kind of blew my mind. I think the thing is great!

Initially, I was stumped, trying to log in after an intrastate move and change of ISP. I finally used the LiveChat feature...first, received no response, then they cut me off citing Lack of response on my part. Sigh...so I tried again, and got a quick response from a different (theoretically) operator. He resolved the issue in short order, emailing me a PW for access and waiting with me till I established access into the system. Today was a good experience with them....

I had them for a year, and I have NO COMPLAINT... I use the line for mostly dialing out, not for my main phone line... It would be crazy to use it as a main line.

I just talked to their billing support, and I also have no complaint as well....

I guess people need to do their proper homework before they put down such an innovative product... NO I dont work for them, but I know I cant call US and Canada for $19.95 a year with ANY PHONE COMPANY....Thank you Magic Jack

I have had magicJack for going on 4 years and I am totally happy with it so far and also for the low cost of it.
The few problems I had I corrected myself and a lot of people on here could do it their self.
If you have any problem (1)go to magicjack.com.
(2)Near the bottom of the page click on "FAQ's/Knowledgebase".
(3)In the box near the top half that is right under "Type in your question below to get the quickest answer" type in the box the word 'upgrade'.
(4) Hit 'search' or press 'enter on your keyboard.
(5)In the search results listed click on "How do I run Upgrade"
(6)On the new page click on the word "here" in the sentence "Plugin in you magicJack and click 'here' to run the upgrade.
(7)A box pops up to download the upgrade. The file is named "magicJackSetup.exe". Click save to save the file.
(8)After the file is downloaded get out of your browser and go to where the file was saved.
(9)Double click the file to run it.
If some window boxes appear to format a drive, DON'T format the drive, just get rid of that box.
When it is thru running you should be OK. I don't call magicJack unless absolutely necessay as I have found the above steps hava solved all my problems.

I've been using majicjack for 5 yrs now! and I never experienced a single problem since 2006..and im using it everyday!I dont have idea why a lot of you here experienced a nightmare.It is just a simple device just attached it to your pc and it will do the job.Leave it attached to your pc eventhough you will not use it often. Disconnecting it often will cause the device to lose its grip and overhandling will cause it to malfunction.

SO far Im happy using MJ for 5 yrs! average of 2 hours used per day!

Since it's Sunday, I went to the link: www.magicjack.com/ where I found a link to a "LIVE Tech Support Person", clicked it, and spent about 20 minutes, that resolved my problem. I post this information FYI.

I have to laugh when I read comments by others who say they try to extend their service or purchase another year or whatever, yet they complain about how lousy majic jack supposedly is. Uh, WHY would you try to purchase another year, then? LOL

ANYWAY, I've had magic jack for over a year now. No problems whatsoever (yes, that also means no "issues" for those who love that word instead of the real word - problem). No problems at all. Sound quality is very good, the same as when I had phone through my IP provider. Simple as that, it all works, has worked since the beginning. Oh, and I also download alot WHILE I talk on the phone, as well as surf...again, no problem at all. Could be because I have a normal broadband connection and not a slow dsl or dialup.
Seriously, 3/4 of these "reviews" on here have to be made up.

I guess I am one of the luck ones. I have had MagicJack for about 4 months now. I have been very satisfied. Have had no problems. I thought I had a problem when I had to restart my computer, I couldn't restart MagicJack. I found out all I had to do was unplug MagicJack from the usb port and plug it back in and it started working. Hopefully I will continue having no problems.

Have had it for one year. Great, no more phone bill. I turn off at night and on in the morning, absolutely no problems. PS. I don't work for the company!

To the person who has complained that he/she has had to use 3 adapters over a 2 year period: I've had my adapter first and only adapter for 2 years and have never experienced any problems with it. I believe your problems may stem from you moving your computer a lot, maybe disconnecting and re-connecting the adapter often. This gadget is not built for over-handling. It should be attached to your system and left to do its job. It has no movable parts, so it should not be moved itself by obstructing cables, walls, etc. I love this device and I'm getting sick from reading these comments from people who are knocking it. Its the cheapest form of telephone service in the world. Use it for what its meant and you will have no problem. Learn to use a computer before you try to attach gadgets to it. thanks for reading my comment.

Good product for the price. I can make and get calls with no issues anytime. No problems like anyone else on here complains about. Just remember that for a $20.00 a year service, I would not want to go replace my other means of communications with this. I have my cell phone but when I do not want to use up my minutes I grab my magic jack and every time works perfect. Could not be happier.

I read the reviews, and most of them are bad. But when I did the live chat, I could reach Josh within second, and his service was excellent! I complained that I was charged for registration fee 6 months too early, and he extended my registration for another year.

As usual, the only people taking time to comment are those with bad experiences. I used the Chat option, and our issue was resolved in less than 10 minutes. I've had Vonage and have Skype, and, for me the quality of MagicJack is equal to or better than either.

I have had MJ since 2009,I do have connection problems at times, but it is worth the money i save not paying a monthly bill.They have a Tech Support u can contact,and they always help me.

I need to backtrack on my complaint about sending back two Magicjacks and not receiving money back. They responded to an email the same day I posted my first complaint (here below) with an explanation that they had credited back my credit card for most of the purchase and would be refunding the balance soon. I checked my statement and the money was credited back. I owe Magicjack an apology for posting a negative comment, "I'm sorry." I have to admit it would have been nice to have received a message from them with status of the return... but I am impressed with the immediate return of the money. Owing from my ship date the must have immediately processed the return on receipt of the device. I think I read something about allowing six weeks for processing of returns so was not expecting instant service. I am voting again to neutralize the negative ratings in my first round of voting.

I called the billing # and reached 'Destiny' who was very helpful! I hope that there is follow-though because this is the make or break point for magic jack!

you are kidding right? this is the best product going. 20.00 for phone service. i wish i could pay for 100 years and get it for everyone in my family. i love this product, i love the customer service and everything about it. please stop whinning and learn how to use it, it is great

I've had magic jack for about two months and it works great!! Can't beat the price per month. As far as the problem with sleep mode, I turn my computer off at night so I just forward my calls to my cell phone at night--it easy to do. I'm sure they will fix the problem in time. I've also had a good experience with their Tech support.
