I bought a spindle of 100 Memorex CD-Rs about a year ago that have NEVER ONCE WORKED. Every time I've tried burning a cd it sounds like the computers I've used were about to take off in flight or something as soon as they started spinning the discs. I thought the burner on my laptop was kaput for months until I just tried using my blanks again in my dad's laptop and desktop only to have the same issue with both. Three computers can't have gone bad--I've just gone and bought a different brand of cd and was able to burn. I went to Memorex's website to look at their support page; i don't know why it's called a support page when all it does is show a picture of the item with no way of filing a complaint. I'm not calling their 800 number to wait on hold forever to put through a complaint to them. I'm done buying anything at all from that company. Anonymous 8/18/10 6:18PM

From what I have learned from the "support" person I spoke with, the unit I have is not fixable. It is an under cabinet color t.v./CD player/ Am/Fm radio only 3 years old. It sticks on one channel and will not change. It was not a cheap unit in dollars, but I wouldn't give you 5 cents for it if it can't be fixed. I definitely never buy a Memorex product again, and from the looks of other comments, many others out there won't either. The technical support is not only bad, it is non-existent! First of all, I had to do a google search to even come close to finding an area to make a complaint about a batch of memorex CD-R I purchased. I even doubt this complaint will get to the right person. Out of a pack of 10, I was able to use 4 of the CD-R's. It was to memorex's advantage that I was in a hurry trying to make some powerpoints for my daughters softball team for 10 of the players so they could have them forever. What started as a great idea, turned to a nightmare, one after the other, my computer would reject the CD-R and tell me to replace it with an empty one. I cant even get my money back! It took 2 packages of 10 to get the amount of CD-R's I needed. I find this unacceptable and will never buy memorex again and I will make sure family and friends know of this. If postal mail wasnt so expensive , i would mail each and every one of them back to you! I am so tired of buying stuff at Walmart only to get home and find out the product or merchandise is defective. When will this end? When will quality return? In my opininon never! If this results in a computer response, I will seek another way to get this resolved. Its unfair I trusted this product and ended up ripped off! lmc1219 7/2/10 8:02AM

this company and website are horrible. no where to contact the company by email and when I tried the support link it takes me to a page where I can by more of this junk. they obviously know their stuff is junk and don't want to hear about it. I'll never buy anything memeorex again and will make sure everyone I talk to knows how bad they are. Anonymous 4/16/10 6:32AM

Do NOT buy their CD's and DVD's. They simply are unreliable. Worst ever. Made the mistake of buying two 100-pk spindles of their 16x DVD-R's. There was a 20-30% fail rate when burning at 16x. Fail = excessive skipping throughout the disc, not playing, or excessive lagging.
Finally, I realized I should have read reviews.
Most reliable brands:
Taiyo Yuden
Maxell
TDK
Verbatim
Sony (although overpriced)
I use Maxell, TDK and Verbatim and get none of the issues anymore I had with Memorex.

All of you are right on. I purchased a spindle of DVD+R at Best Buy and most of them so far have been bad. I do VHS to DVD transfers for people and I have gotten complaints of the DVD hanging up. Tested myself and they ones brought back will not play all the way through. Bad for my business. First time I have used Memorex because they were on sale at a great price. I normally use Sony or Maxcell. Cost me more in the long run. Extra work, wear and tear on my equipment. Stay away from Memorex. Anonymous 2/15/10 1:05PM

I purchased a portable dvd player from them in then begining of December. 3 weeks later, the product stoped working. I contacted memorex, where I was put on hold for hours, and then forwarded to India where I was told that there wasn't anything they could do for me. I will never again purchase anything from this company and will let every person I know never to purchase from them again. Anonymous 1/11/10 2:10PM

This is the worst company I have ever bought a product from. I bought a DVD player from them in May, it broke a couple weeks later, and after talking to technical support 20+ times, paying to mail the broken DVD player to them, then waiting two months, I received yet ANOTHER broken DVD player from them! They are now trying to send me another one, which I am refusing and I am now demanding my money back. DON'T BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!! Anonymous 10/30/09 10:42AM

I purchased a 530L DVD-Burner of theirs on Nov 30, 2008. Supposedly this product was warrantied for 1 year. On Aug 31 the drive door refused to open. I then submitted Proof of purchase to Memorex for a replacement. Talk about a run around! Memorex does not have any interest in honoring their warranties to their customers. Also, the customer service I received was very poor. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB against Memorex and their failure to honor their warranty. misterstop 9/2/09 9:29AM

I bought a 5 pack of CD-RWs and all 5 of them went bad, meaning that they are supposed to be re-writable and 2 out of 4 worked, but only for 3 uses. So I contacted customer service and they sent me 5 more, the same thing happened, they become unusable. I just want my money back. I will not buy memorex again, Anonymous 7/7/09 9:42AM

I'm writing in reguards to an unpleasant experience. On 8/31/08 I purchased two mvdp 1085 players @94.99 each as a xmas gifts. I was not informed of a 90 day manufactor warranty. If a product does not work at all a company does nothing to satisfy a customer. A portable dvd player is not used regularly and 90 days is limited. I spoke with a Rafael Alba ref# 520344 who was pleasant yet still no help. I can understand if the merchandise was beat up, missing access. or had no proof of purchase. I have offered to fax the proof & was willing to purchase/upgrade for one that works & can't understand the unwillingness with no exceptions is disappointing. I will no longer shop memorex for the fear of a product that doesn't work. I will also be sharing my experience with all friends & family. Nancy Heard Anonymous 6/4/09 12:06PM
