Purchased in Monteagle Tennessee 6-10-21 Bought a Stihl FS91.R-Z also along with the purchase I got the saw blade attachment, the blade,a fixed head line attachment, got the recommended Stihl pre mixed fuel all together Over $500.00 in all, the store manager filled the gas up in store to start it,,it started but sounded like it was bogging down, didn't think muchnabout that then, when we tried it it wouldn't cut grass 16 inches high, kept stalling and bogging, bought it back, Store managernsaid there was a no return policy on gas powered engines that had gas or oil put in them on store receipt, showed him my receipt it didn't say that, he says it's on the cash register when checking out, What ??? How can I see the cash register, I didn't put gas in it the manager did, I own a small business and buy a few hundred dollars in stuff there a month to support local business, NEVER AGAIN, the WEEDEATER IS GARBAGE, my $120 Husqvarna weed eater will smoke that STIHL, they sell that junk at the public expense, Warning pay attention about the inferior junk they sell and the no return policy, never again will I patronize Ace hardware, rather drive 25 miles to a reputable Home depot or lowes, I GOT THE SHAFT TO THE TUNE OF OVER $500 OF HARD EARNED MONEY

ACE website says they offer a senior discount or veteran discount! Went to Ace in Broken Arrow, OK and was told they offer neither discount! Change your website to say you do NOT offer these customer discounts!! Evidently do not respect military personnel!!

'WOW' I never realized ACE was so horrific with returns . Was about to purchase a wet dry vac but saw that if you return only store credit will be issued .

Bought things at one Ace, went to return at a different one closer to my work and was told they are independently owned and won't do returns from another store. No Where near their registers was this posted. At all. Everything being returned were ace brand products also. What a joke.

Poor Customer Service-Poor Quality Control
Bought a Toro lawnmower less than a month ago. First one was defective. Brought it back. Second one was defective (same problem). Now, I have a bad taste in my mouth and asked for a refund. Ace says "NO. Once the unit has gas inside it we don't give refunds." That seems just swell because I don't know how You TEST a lawnmower WITHOUT putting gas in it.

I will not shop here again. I bought an Ace wheel barrel that is defective. I was told that it is a tool and no returns on tools period. My argument is it is defective. Apparently does not matter. I paid 89.99 for this thing that you cannot carry anything because it flood to the left or right.
Not cool at all. Doesn't even matter with or without receipt.

I'm glad I only bought 3 inexpensive geraniums from Ace.
30 day return policy. I've spent 2 months trying to bring them back to life. To no avail. Will NEVER buy a plant from them again.

Hello, your hardware store where I live has in the past allowed individuals to shop maskless, but recently we go into the store, spend an hour shopping, collect everything, wait in line, get ready to check and then "Sorry, you need a mask." Waisted an hour on you guys because of this. If you don't care to accommodate those who can't wear face smothering devices, we don't care to shop here anymore.

In Texas small towns are known for their hospitality. Unfortunately accasionally you will run across the family owned business that will treat their customers with at best contempt. They have the belief that you have no option but to buy at their store. The staff is a high percentage of family members who know they can say and do what they wish without repercussion (owned by Mike Fleming and the manager is Eric Fleming.) So if you wish to be treated this way, not receive items that you purchased and lied to about sales Ace Fleming Lumber is the place to go. I am sure they no concern about my loss as a customer regardless of the potential in sales I represent. If you are new to the community be aware that living in the country in Texas means that a 30 minute drive to get supplies is normal and a hour drive for speciality items may be required. I am more than willing to drive 30 minutes to HomeDepot or Lowes. The service may not be better but the selection and prices are better. I also have never been to either store and treated with the arrogant disregard that Ace Fleming Lumber provides.

Ace hardware Brenham will not exchange or refund me for some paint I bought a few days ago. I don't understand why the refund policy that is stated on both websites is a lie

Just bought Sthil vacuum/ blower for my yard.. Salesmen told me it would work on what i was trying to and if it didn't perform bring it back for a return.. Called today to return product and was told they don't except returns. I will never buy another thing from ACE again worst customer service and sales "PERIOD"..........

I was in your village of oak creek ace store in Az. The cashier and customers were not wearing masks. CDC recommendation is to wear masks to protect yourself and others. I do not care what the governor mandates. I want to be safe. Your store could mandate masks but not in the village of oak creek. I can no longer shop there. There is plenty of hardware at Home Depot where they are wearing masks. You do not care about my health so I do not care to shop in your store.

Our Ace doesn't know how to use their new paint mixer and we can only get paint on Saturdays when the 1 person that knows how works.Their emoloyee sold me a drill bit for ceramic after I told them I needed one for aluminum then told me,when I returned it that I need to learn how to read a package!
I have since started driving to Home Depo 50 miles away just to get proper service and no ugliness.

Well, it's waaaay too late to return the item I bought but the item itself is a piece of garbage. I bought a shower curtain rod months ago and finally got around to attempting to put it up in my shower (just removed the sliding glass doors, I want a curtain instead). I took the rubber/plastic (it's just plastic) cup off one end and it's all corroded and rusted underneath it. On the other end the metal tube actually push/cut through the plastic cup and cut out nearly a perfect little circle. So if I was to put it up in my shower raw metal would cut into my shower wall.
Fortunately that won't happen because I can't get the thing to unwind and extend long enough to put up in the shower. I twisted and twisted and twisted and finally it lengthened 2 or 3 inches and that's it, won't extend any further.
This is a brand new rod, atleast it's supposed to be. It didn't look like a brand new rod once I got it unwrapped and took a look at it. It looks 100% used -corroded, beat up and broken and stuck shut.
To me it looks like they got a return and just rewrapped it and sent it back out for some store to put on the shelf and some sucker to buy. I don't blame the particular store where I bought it, this was probably done in some returns warehouse.
Unbelievable. I would expect something like this from a chintzy seller on some website but not from an actual brick and mortar store.'
I was thinking of asking for store credit since I don't have the receipt anymore but after reading all these reviews I'm sure I wouldn't even get credit w/o the receipt. It's this simple, from now on the only thing I'm buying as Ace Hardware will be plants or dirt for those plants.
Another commenter is right, Amazon has a better return policy, I'll buy another shower curtain rod from them.

I bought an item and used a $5 coupon I got in the mail, had to take the item back and they wouldn't give me my coupon back, nor a $5 credit on my next purchase so the coupon was wasted. Bad policy, ACE HARDWARE!

I Tried to return an unopened roll of butcher paper to Frattalone Ace Hardware in Columbia heights MN. They refused to take my return because I did ask for a receipt when I purchased it there a week earlier. I guess I'm done shopping at Frattalone's Ace Hardware.

Bought a Tru Guard Tactical Flashlight, believe it was for around $35..and it has a warranty good for 3 years after purchase..within 1 month, something became loose on the inside and it would not stay on, jus flicker...so took it and the packaging as well as the receipt back out to the store and was told by an employee I would have to wait till the Boss came in the next Monday, for they would have to determine the outcome..so I jus left it with them and returned Monday..I was met at the cash register by the same employee who grabbed my flashlight and proceeded to click it on and off and on and off..said "she works jus fine now..me and the other employee got in there and fixed it"...so now I have a flashlight that they screwed up my warranty on because they took it upon themselves to mess around with it..they half assed gave it to me along with the packaging and receipt and said there ya go...Furious, I went home and proceeded to call up the Corporate Office in which I told the story to them..and they said..and I quote...
"We are very sorry for how you was treated..they have a list behind the counter of things that are no questions asked when it comes to returning merchandise..and the Flashlight is on the list!". She said that it looks like they're going to have to do another training course about this, and apologized again..then asked me for my address and all and said in the next two days they were sending me a package free of charge containing not one...but 2
brand new Tactical Flashlights..
You want something done, don't mess around with the little shitheads..go above and beyond..or I guess, jus don't mess around with me,?

Your employees do not wear masks. Dover, Pa. why are you not enforcing a policy to protect your employees as well as your patrons?
I will NEVER go into your store again and I'm telling everyone I know to stay away as well.
Your stores must be a cesspool of Covid. How irresponsible. I just wanted to get the he'll out as fast as I could.

Terrible Company screw my order up and did not contact me for 4 days had to called to found I was not getting my order and that refused ship to me from the store which was too far for I don't own a car and only ride a bike! NEVER ORDER from them! The staff is very unreasonable and the fact that they did not communicate with me until I called them and utter crap!

Ace Hardware in Mossyrock WA will not honor 30 day return on a blower that died after 3 uses, 10 days after I bought it, because they said it has to go through a Toro manufacturers warranty because it has been used. I have the receipt and the box it came in, but even though everything I have read online from Toro and Ace days to return it to the seller, Mossyrock says no. The phone number on Toro's website for electric blower warranties is useless because you cant get through to the correct department. Im feeling really ripped off and unsupported by both the retailer and the manufacrurer.

ACE Hardware staff in Pickens, South Carolina are rude and scary. NOT one staff wearing a mask. When I asked why they laughed saying it's here in my pocket. Another staff said we don't have to we live in America. If you don't like it don't shop here! They literally ran me out of the store with my mask on.

I called Ace Hardware in Lantana Florida today which I'm a local for a long time and it have been in many times.
Today, I was delighted to speak with the store manager Heather she was so great with customer service on the phone she needs to be recognized I looked online for certain things and I'm helping my friend with this townhouse.
I called her back and I asked her for specific items if she could have them ready for my friend who has special needs and she was absolutely caring and amazing and extremely efficient. Please recognize her as caring kind and extremely professional.

Purchased a drill from Ace for $170. After 2 uses (about 2 months later) it would not run. The battery was charged but drill would not power up. Went back to ACE and was told I would have to deal with the Dealer (DeWalt) since Ace only allows exchanges within 30 days! Big hassle getting any help from DeWalt.. now 6 months later still waiting for repair from DeWalt.
I will NEVER buy anything from ACE again.. I purchased another drill (Not DeWalt) from Amazon. They at least give you 90 days to return !! Much better policy.
Retailer like ACE hurting themselves by their return policies. Amazon is much better.

Not sure where these customers are going but in Wisconsin Rapids, WI our ACE is the absolute best for both customer service and returns. They take care of me like I was family. I'll gladly pay a little more just for the experience of working with these folks.
