I was not happy and a little apprehensive when my employer changed our supplemental insurance to AFLAC. That was almost 3 years ago; however, I finally had to submit a wellness claim to them in June and was surprised that I received a check within a week. I am now having to utilize my cancer policy and have had nothing but kind and friendly customer service. Sure, there were some excessive hold times, but I was calling during the holidays. But, they do offer a callback option where you do not lose your place "in line". I submitted a claim on 1/3/12 and after ensuring that the proper documents were submitted with the claim, their automated system indicated that a check was cut yesterday. I feel that this is quick service when a complicated medical review is needed. Being in the HMO/medical field, maybe I understand the process and the necessity of supporting documentation. I am a happy AFLAC customer.

I had heard bad things about aflac but i met with a good agent and i'd to file several claims i didnt know how to at first but my agent call me and said i'll come and go to the hospital with you she was so helpful she guided me thru tha whole process .so know when i file a claim or call csr i have no problems i just think its how you talk to people as a matter of fact my employer drooped them but i continue with them they are a very good compamy i won't trade them r my agent for the world keep up tha good work aflac

I HEART AFLAC! Paid promptly and well for skin cancer claim.
Then had orthopaedic surgery. Check was issued same day I submitted claim by fax. Doesn't get any better!!

I am sorry to hear of all the bad experiences that some people have had with Aflac, my husband and I have several policies with this company and have never had any problems with customer services or with getting claims paid actually most of the csr i have dealth with always offered to tell me things that I could claim on my policies, and as far as my agent goes, good Lord we know each other on a first name basis, i am very pleased with this company, keep up the good work

Great customer service and superb claims department. 6 years of claims on cancer policy, all handled swiftly and accurately. The people on the other end are always courteous and helpful. Thank you AFLAC employees!

I have had a great experience with AFLAC and my rep. I think that has a lot to do with it, a good rep.

I have the hospital policy and after giving birth I submitted paperwork and had a check with 7 days of submitting all the forms.

I AM HAPPY WITH SERVICE HERE IN OKLAHOMA, I HAD AN E.R. VISIT FOR A PULLED MUSCLE IN MAY. RECENTLY HAD TO RE-UPDATE MY CONTRACT WITH AFLAC AT END OF JULY, MY AGENT LARRY BACON WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS AND HE EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS COVERED UNDER MY POLICY. FAXED HIM MY HOSPITAL PAPERWORK AND FILLED OUT MY FORMS AND RECEIVED A CHECK WITHIN TWO WEEKS. THANKS LARRY!

My wife became ill and couldn't work. AFLAC immediately paid the full term of the insurance policy. All that was required was a statement from her doctor that she would be disabled for longer than the policy term. This was a blessing as most insurance companies make compensation like pulling teeth. This was a welcome and very positive experience for us. AFLAC is the rare exception in the insurance business!

After my claim was denied I called and found out that the auditor who was doing my claim entered the date of my policy termination date wrong and it looked like my policy ran out before I was diagnosed.The man told me he fixed the mistake and sent it back to the claims auditors and that everything should be fine. I would hate to think I paid on that policy for nothing, never used it or got the benifits from it. I keep checking the status hoping it went through.

Reading all of the negative comments, it seems like most of the problems are coming through the agents. Let me ask you this, why are you going through the agents? You need to call the Aflac call center directly if you need to do something. Questions about anything to do with your policy, or any claims need to be done with us.
Know this, once an agent writes your policy, he's made commission off of you, and he's done with you. There are a few agents who care about you after all that, but that is rare.
Stop complaining about your agent not calling you back or you not being able to get in touch with him. You're being just as lazy as he/she is by not doing it your self. Its not their job.

I am a long time (20+years) satisfied policy holder.Good coverage, good service response, etc.
My complaint! I just received 3 checks in the following amounts; $0.57,$0.04 and $0.46.
Actually I appreciate your being so conscientious, but I feel that it was a total waste of your/our money. A letter explaining the reason for these amounts would have been much better business. Either credit those amounts to my account or donate them to charity. Actually these were for services provided to my husband. I am not tired of the "Duck", and look forward to the new messages. Keep up the good work.

I have had Aflac for years and have never had a problem. My agent is wonderful!! I send her my bills and she sends them in. You can get the forms directly from Aflac and send them in yourself. This guarantees the company getting them. I have never had a claim take more than 2 weeks. I love it and don't intend to ever change to another company!! Thanks Aflac!!!

From what I've read on allot of AFLAC complaints, it seems due to the luck of the draw on agents. If you are blessed and have a great agent like me, no problems. All I have to do is send all my hospital bills and documents and he fills them out and files them for me, so I can focus on getting better. As he put it, without my clients, I have no job.

WOW READING YOUR COMMENTS ARE VERY TERRIBLE, I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT I AM A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER WITH AFLAC. I HAVE ONLY BEEN WITH THEM SINCE 2007 BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE CLAIM NOR WITH HIS FOLLOW UP AND THERAPY PAYMENTS. I ALSO JUST WENT THRU A INJURY ON THE JOB AND ALSO HAD TO GO TO THERAPY AND MY CHECK IS ON THE WAY. I HAVE ONLY USED THEM 3 TIMES SINCE I HAD IT BUT HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM AT ALL. I HAD TO DO A NAME CHANGE AND THAT WENT VERY SMOOTHLY ALSO I DID IT OVER THE PHONE IN A VOICE RECORDING. SO I AM UNSURE WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING WRONG OR MAYBE LIKE THE PERSON SAID YOU ARE NOT SENDING IN ALL THE PAPERWORK NEEDED OR SOMETHING, BUT I LOVE IT AND WOULD NOT CANCEL.

I've had aflac for about two years. I have a accident and hospital policy. While I have never used the hospital policy, have used the accident several times for the kids. The process of my claims is always a week or less and I have a check within ten days of submitting my documentation. My claim payouts gave paid for the yearly premiums tenfold. I live aflac and think that some people that have a negative experience need to just read their policies and submit what is required. Customer service does tend to have s long wait time usually, but I use the automated system and internet 99% of the time so I avoid the wait.

I have short-term disability and have used it three times over the last 4 years. I have never had any trouble with them, and they've processed my claims quickly. I am pleased with my local rep-calls me back promptly, if not the same day, always first thing the next morning.

If you have a problem, go to your local rep. They will help you. They don't want to loose you as a client due to them loosing money out of their pocket.

LOVE AFALC..MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE HOPSITAL FOR A WEEK. I FILED MY CLAIM AND WITH IN 10DAYS I HAD A CHECK THAT HELPED US OUT ALOT.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GREAT AND THEY HELPED ME STEP BY STEP!

If there is an issue and you don't want to wait 30 min on the phone call your AGENT they should have the answers and there local and actually care buecuse if you are pissed at aflac it directly effects them $$$. No problems with aflac I call my agent not the 1-800, submitted 6 claims on the accident plan over the past 4 years(kids) very pleased.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MS PAM TERRY FOR HER HELP WITH MY POLICY. SHE IS BOTH PROFESSIONAL AND CAREING. SHE HAS HELPED ME IN A TIME THAT I NEEDED SOMEONE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH, FACING CANCER AND TRYING TO DEAL WITH DAILY PROBLEMS. THANK YOU AFLAC FOR HIRING SOMEONE THAT REALLY CARES. I have had nothing but good experiences with AFLAC. I have an Accident and Cancer Policy and I have had to file 4 seperate claims with the Accident in the past year for my teenaged son. I have always, to this point, had a good experience. I faxed my claims and usually have received the check within a week of my faxing the claim. Also, while contacting customer service, I have always talked to someone usually without a long delay. Yes.. I have to go though the prompting, but I do get to a person without long hold time. The person(s) on the other end has been friendly and helpful.
Oh.. on the claims.. I figured what I should have received at the time of filing, they come though to the penny.
I personaly recommend them at this time.

I am very please and grateful to have AFLAC- had it for 10 years before I needed to use it- my husband has cancer and the benefits from AFLAC have been very helpful- customer service I have no compliants about- thank you AFLAC.
