Most of these comments are a JOKE!
Carnival cannot control weather.
Carnival cannot control missed connections, cancelled flights.

Carnival is not my cruise line of choice.. but it's certainly not the evil of the cruise line witches out there..

Do your homework.

Upgrades rarely come for free. Agents will tell you to call back to check on possible upgrades..just to get you off the phone right away..

Buy Insurance, I always get it through Travel Guard Insurance and they DO cover weather delays, missed connections, jury duty, court hearings.. missed cameras, missed cruise due to tornado hitting your home... (all these examples taken from previous posts..)

Your vacation is what YOU make out of it.
Happy sailing everybody!..

I have read each and every comment on this board. I have traveled with Carnival 4 times now heading out again in december. I have had nothing but great experiences on Carnivals ships. The food is good, service is great never an issue. I always do early saver cruises as i know i will be able to go, with no issues. I always buy a future cruise certificate for the free on board credits, again with no issues. I also own Carnival stock another on board credit perk once again redeemed with no issues.

I hope that some of the issues you all have had never happen to me. I plan ahead pay in advance and enjoy my vacation. Yes little things go wrong, but when i life does nothign go wrong. Happy sailing.

We sailed on the Carnival Dream Cruise Ship On Jan. 29th to Feb. 5th, from Port Canaveral.
I have very favorable comments to make on several of your employees. First of all, our Cabin Steward, Anas ,(Room 8420) was excellent and went above and beyond the call of duty, assisting my husband (who is on oxygen) in any way he could and was always so friendly and attentive. Also I would like to commend our Head Waiter at dinner (Scarlet Dining Room,. Table # 694) who was one of the best waiters we have ever had and remembered all of our names every evening. I believe his name was Francisco. Also the assistant waiter ? who was also exellent and very attentive to our needs. We have sailed on Carnival at least 7 times, and they were among the best. Please thank them personally and give them a copy of this if you wish and also a definite raise would be order if possible. Thank you so much for the service of these employees.
Sincerely,

From Dec. 26, 2010 thru Jan. 2, 2011 at Carnival Victory cruise we were served at Pacific dinning room by Mylene De la Cruz (team waitress) and Taufiq Syam (team waiter. They were very friendly, courteous, and always want to serve us in everything that we want. Inclusive we talked to them sometimes in Spanish to teach them some things and they were willing to learn and practice. They were beautiful people.

After reading comments here,it becomes clear that most of these folks are not experienced cruisers at all. Firstly, it's obvious that they didn't read the ticket contract, the terms and conditions nor the refund and cancellation policy for Carnival. Those with insurance obviously didn't read the fine print or understand the policy before purchasing it.
They fail to understand that no ship has control over weather or sea conditions. If they had read the info in their documents, they would have known of possible weather and related delays, missed ports (and what may or may not be refunded when this happens). They also would know that the Islands are sometimes inaccesible due to heavy seas or wind or weather..and they would know it is the HARBOR MASTER on these islands who determine whether or not a ship can dock....not the Captain, not the cruise company.
Folks who are inexperienced in travel or cruising should find a really, really good land-based travel agent who can walk them through everything and make sure they understand what they are buying.
I have over 72 cruises on Carnival under my belt...dating back to the mid-70's and a total of over 250 cruises overall. I've cruised just about every cruise line, current and defunct on every ocean in the world - and most of the rivers. I've never experienced rudeness, bad food, discourtesy, grouchiness from any ships personnel or reservation center agents.
A cruise is what you make it. It is YOUR responsibility to have a "plan B" in case your ship is delayed. If you head off without doing your research, without reading ALL information, understanding the nature of a cruise, you can find yourself out in the cold.
Carnival provides an excellent cruise experience for all age groups. Those that whine are those who have no idea what cruising is all about. In 72 cruises, with groups, with other couples, with family or solo, my Carnival cruises have been great..and so have the folks who work on the ships.

30th November, 2010

Dear Carnival President
I want to let you know what a wonderful cruise I had on the ‘Freedom’ which left on 20th November, 2010, to Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama. Your staff made us feel so welcome, and took care of our every need. The only sad thing was that the fourth member of our group, Desleane Cumberbatch, who has cruised many times with you, was not able to come on the cruise as her husband had a stroke four weeks before the cruise date, and was then diagnosed with stage four cancer throughout his body. She has never taken out the insurance, so unfortunately was not able to claim a refund of $825.00 .
I would also like to bring to your attention, that on Friday morning, 26th November, we were sitting on the Lido deck having breakfast by the pool, when all of a sudden my chair started to move backwards, there was a loud noise and the boat listed to the left, and we watched dumfounded as we watched this mini tsunami came at us carrying all the shoes that were lying on the deck. It happened so quickly, and was so scary. My bag got soaked, and it took me a while to realize my camera was in the bag. Since then it has not worked, even though I took the battery out to dry and tried using the hair dryer in the room to dry the inside. I took the camera to Customer Service, who directed me to the photographer, and he said that there was nothing he could do. When we explained about the circumstances on the Lido deck, he said we should not mention the tsunami, as this would start a rumour, and then CNN would get involved. Later on while talking to other passengers, they thought we might have hit a whale!! But I think what caused the sharp to list was a sudden change in direction to the left. I also understand that a large quantity of plates broke in the galley. There was no announcement about the cause. I am asking that my camera ‘Casio Ex-S10’ be replaced by Carnival, as it was through no fault of mine that it was damaged, but bad steering!
I left the ship feeling so well cared for, and look forward to cruising with you in the future. I have been on cruises before, but never had so much fun as on Carnival Freedom. I really enjoyed the arts and crafts class, the midnight dancing on the Lido Deck, the entertainment in Victoriana, the food of course, the room stewards and their wonderful creations with the towels, the attentive waiters in all the dining areas, and the list goes on.
Sincerely
Margaret Cooper

We sailed on Elation out Mobile on October 30. We had wonderful time. The checkin, crew, and everyone was great. It was a neat cruise. We had Halloween on board.

My family and I went on our first cruise the Elation. I have read the reviews and was very surprised of everyones disappointment. The entire team on the Elation were wonderful."Yoga" was wonderful. The room was small but we were not in our room much. The food and entertainment was fun. We went to Mexico and had the time of our lives. My kids loved the cruise and have met some great new friends. Thank you Carnival for a wonderful vacation and a trip of a lifetime.
