Tried calling Earthlink "Customer Support" to complain that my autopay rates are regularly increased by 20-25% without any pre-notice.
I got a health monitoring device marketing recording when I clicked on option 1 "Older than 55" and, after I called back and clicked option 2 "Younger than 55" it just disconnected.
Past experience is also horrible "customer service." This is without fail the most unprofessional company in the field!

This place sucks don't do business with EarthLink service never works I got them for one month the service works the first week but it never works again and if you disconnected the router you'll be out of internet for one day and now they want me to pay $200.00 hundred for early termination for a service never works. This company sucks.

Moved to a rural area and Earthlink was one of the few providers available. Had them for about one month. Wireless internet service was very slow, then decided to drop them for Verizon 5g. It took me an additional month to get a shipping label sent to me to return their equipment. After speaking with several cluless representatives four weeks later a label arrived in the mail. I asked countless times if there was a way to receieve a link to the label via email and was told no.but there is. The day after recieving a return label in the mail I recieved an email with a link to be able to print the label. These people do not know what they are doing I'm glad to be rid of them.

This is the worst service I've ever got. I feel ripped off. Made me pay 79$ for activation. 115 $ for 100 gin which I ran out in less than 7 days and I barely used it. I had it more times disconnected than connected and in like a day it spent 15 gob with only 3 devices connected. please do not get this service you will regret

I have been an Earthlink customer since they acquired Netcom (over 20 years). The service
overall has been good, but the last month or so Earthlink has been refusing my password and
refusing my security questions.

The voice service is useless because of offshored service techs who speak English with such heavy accents that I can't understand a word that they say.

Attempting to contact the corporate headquarters is futile; the phone number goes to an automated system with no option to speak to a live person.

Initally when I signed up with Earthlink, everything was great. The few tines I had to call, I was connected with representatives that could understand and speak English. Several months later we purchased a house in an area that Earthlink doesn't serve. I called 2 weeks before moving and spoke with a representative at length about the situation. He told me that he could remove my internet service and leave the email feature, which I free until my contact was up. A month later I receive an email that my bill I due, and it is the normal amount that I had been paying. I have been on the phone with 6 Earthlink representatives today, and a total of 2 hours in waiting time. I asked for a supervisor, and was told they would call me back. When I did receive a call back it was from a different representative telling me to please hold while she got a supervisor on the line. After waiting yet again, I was finally put in touch with a supervisor an had to explain I detail the same story I'd been telling all day. Now, I've been put on hold for 17 minutes and counting. This is the absolute worst customer service I've ever seen. Each time I speak to someone, I get a different answer. I highly recommend using any carrier other than Earthlink.

I Have Been An Earthlink Customer Since Before Sprynet.com & Mindspring Were Acquired By Earthlink. So I Am An Original Customer. Now: All Of A Sudden, Earthlink Has Added "spam Blocker" To Be E-mail Account Containing 5 E-mail Addresses. Now I Cannot Communicate Wetween Two Of My Own E-mail Addresses Because The Unwanted, "spam Blocker" Drops My Own Earthlink E-mail Into The Spam Category.
Since Is A Us Military & Use Military Computers & Government Computers To Help
Communicate With My Family Members..not All Os A Sudden..i Can No Longer Communicate With Myself..or My Wife.
I Am Totally Dissatified With This & With The Lack Of Customer Service !!!!!!!!!! Dr. James Scott. Usmc/usn/va.

My experience with Hertz money was horrible I've only been with them for two weeks I've managed to use my internet. Maybe 2 hours out of the whole deal they made me wait 2 weeks to get it installed we can get it installed so they give me a free month service will then reneged on that and now the bastards are going to charge me $200 for the breach of contract it's ridiculous they might as well be holding me at gunpoint you should be against the law what they're doing lying to people in misleading them Miss Miss leading people to buy some it's ridiculous something needs to be done about it what's wrong with it Corporal John and get by with everything it's ridiculous I'm not pay that $200 loan over my credit slap on the way to nothing I will not pay it

This is one of the worst companies I ever dealt with. I had four appointments set up, I waited four times from 9-5 and nobody ever showed up. I called them but nobody ever was responsible. Don't do business with earthlink!

I live in an apartment complex in San Diego. I called every internet provider searching for fiber optic, AT&T included. I was told by every company that they could not give me fiber optic because of where I live (the apartment complex is the issue). When I called EarthLink and gave them my address, apartment number included, the sales rep informed me they could give me fiber optic and increase my speeds and connection. That is the only reason I paid for them to install their equipment, with the idea that I would be getting fiber optic. Come day of installation I discover it's an AT&T technician installing my equipment because EarthLink piggy-backs off of their fiber optic cable. When I asked the installing technician why I couldn't get fiber optic direct from AT&T he told me it's because there is no fiber optic connection to this complex, and the connection he was giving me was not fiber optic, but fiber based because he was attaching a copper line to the fiber optic line. 24 hours after my install I called into EarthLink customer service ready to cancel because the service was even worse than what I had before. After being on the phone for an hour while they ran diagnostic and latency tests I was told they would have to send a technician out to see why I wasn't receiving the service I was promised. When the technician came out, 7 total days after my install, he informed me that they couldn't provide me with fiber optic because of where I lived. This was another AT&T technician, the people whose service lines and equipment EarthLink is piggy-backing off of. When I called to cancel the service and request a full refund I was told they couldn't refund my installation fee because, in their eyes, they were providing a fiber based service so they did live up to their promise, even though my connection and speeds were even worse than before I had their service and that wouldn't be the case if they had provided me with an actual fiber optic connection. That's like running 240 volts to a building, then stepping it down so the house can only handle 120 volts. Yes you had the better amount running TO the building, but once there you used a connection that would only allow it to run a smaller amount. I know the sales rep was just going off of what their system showed, I don't believe anyone gave me misleading information purposefully, but what I don't understand is how they won't refund me when the only reason I paid for the install was with the understanding I was getting fiber optic connection and not fiber based connections that actually performed worse. Ridiculous

I've had the service since 11-29-21. I've called five times do you problems with the internet dropping. There is only myself using it. No gaming. Just streaming, I have a printer, a cell phone and a skylight frame. After my fourth call, they "refreshed" the line. The streaming worked considerably better. The skylight frame cannot connect to the internet. It connects then drops. It is right next to the router. I checked with skylight and their trouble shooting indicates it's not the frame, but the weak internet, I called today to see about upgrading and getting a trial to see if that solves it. Corey suggested using EZ tech to trouble shoot. He tried to transfer me and we were disconnected. He called back with the number for me to call directly. I tried twice and got disconnected. I called EarthLink back and spoke to
Nichole who assured me EX tech could help. I find that doubtful as they can't even answer their phone. She put me on terminal hold while she looked for an alternate number. This company is even worse than Comcast if that's possible. Buyer beware!

I have been with Earthlink e-mail for 19 years. Never had a problem until the end of 2021 and this year 2022. I started getting monthly bills which I should not have received as I PREPAY every year (pay for the whole year at one time) and have been doing this for 19 years.
I called customer service several times and had to scream at customer service rep for him to let me speak to supervisor. The customer service rep had given me all the wrong information. The supervisor seemed to be able to help me and I could understand him. All customer calls go to India by the way. Well I received another bill in the mail. Called customer service again and the rep refused to let me talk to supervisor. I repeated several times I will pay once for the year (PREPAY) and will not get another bill. She agreed and assured me she would reverse a 5.00 charge from a bill that I had received and I would only have to pay the PREPAY AMOUNT FOR THE YEAR. I just received my PREPAY BILL AND NOW HAVE THE YEARLY FEE PLUS A 5.00 FEE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REVERSED!!! I am angry and do not want to deal with earthlink again! I plan on writing to corporate but this will be my last year with earthlink e-mail. Why should I pay for an e-mail when I can get one for free WITH NO AGGRAVATION!!! Earthlink you should be ashamed.

This is the worst company. When I joined no one said this is an contract. They can help you over the phone, but the English language is so poor and they speak so fast it's frustrating. I have had the service 4 mo, Now I am told to cancel, I would have to pay 90.00.
No one should be treated this way, they don't provide a service, it's a rip off. Help

EarthLink is worse than Comcast and att combined. EarthLink has no customer retention. They are incompetent when it comes to scheduling service calls, even when coached like a five year old. Still waiting to hear back from the main cooperate office to hear how backwards their operations are.

EarthLink is with a t and t EarthLink says bill in your email everybody do not check my email so then they cut you off as they reach a contract and charge you over $200 and cancel your service and you don't even know they are ripping people off with a money they also charge you a 25 dollars added to your bill if you late one day they also keep your or debit card on file and charge when they want to they take your money out any time it's time to pay

EarthLink is ridiculous. They are connected with AT&T in my area which provides the internet. What they don't tell you is, if you just so happen to want to change from earthling and go directly to at&t, they hold your address hostage for (in my case is currently been over a week) and the new service cannot be connected. You call customer service and they tell me oh yeah we canceled it the day you called AT&T just needs to do their part. You call AT&T and they look in the system and EarthLink never canceled it.

Their customer service knows absolutely nothing. Every time I've called with a connection problem I ended up calling a friend of mine in IT who was able to fix the issue.

Also in my area you can only get 50 mbps and compared to, it's much more expensive. No benefit at all to this company. Don't waste your time.

I've been a Earthlink customer for over 5 years now and I'm constantly wondering why I've stuck with the company for this long (though I have had financial troubles which has contributed to not being able to switch to another internet service.) At the beginning of the year Earthlink was going through some changes and it's had a drastic impact on all the services they provide. I pay almost $45 a month for "high speed DSL", yet I'm lucky if my internet stays connected throughout the day. The speed of my internet has dropped so low that I can't watch a Youtube video and check my email at the same time without stuttering/buffering. Of course I've taken this issue to Earthlink customer service more than once and all they insist on doing, is leasing a newer model modem and an increase in my bill which means I'd have to pay well over 50-60 dollars a month. The replies on their Twitter posts and posts on the Earthlink down detector page are a loud cry of Earthlink's problems and their robotic response to customers complaints. I can't wait until I can jump this sinking ship and switch to Comcast where I'd pay the same as I do now but my internet speed will be faster.

Tech helpers cannot speak clear English and refuse to transfer to U. S. without full info of the customer...not just name and email, but personal info also. Not good. No help from customer service. A ZERO out of 100.

Never have I had to deal with such an incomptwent company. They dis onnected live chat four times before they even aksed my problem. No one on the phone would speakclear English and no oen would transfer me to a U. S. operative.

I would never recommend this company to anybody at first I overcharged my bank account without my authority then refunded my money then offered to give me three months free because I wanted to cancel never gave me my 3 months free but I told him I wanted to cancel again they tried to charge me a $200 cancellation fee customer service will just lie to you to their teeth they promised me everything and gave me nothing and no longer wanted your service
