FLorida power and light is promoting a time of use rate to lower your electric bill.

I have requested 5 months ago yo enroll on it.

Nothings has been done as of today

Just called again now they claim that as I enrolled o n the budget program I will have to discontinue it wait 30 days to request to be enrolled in time of use program

Is FPL running a scam

Will contact local media to see what f they can do an investigation on it

Have tried to work with FP&l about payment because I'm closing on the house and they do not want to receive a payment I am thinking that if you wanted to get paid FPL you would make it easier for somebody to pay you please submit what your reasons are not have a representative available to pay you I'm not happy but good luck FPL I give you a rating of a zero out of a million

It stupid you have a limit on how many times you pay with a card. Your fuxking getting paid! It shouldn't matter I paid 3 times this month with my card. I don't have anywhere close I can pay in person. Your fuxking online payment was how I paid but now you won't let me pay you because I used my card 3 times this month. That's stupid as your getting paid why does it matter how many times I pay.

FPL is a joke. My meter has not worked for 10 months. Did not received a bill. Could not get anyone live on the phone. One night I cussed out the automated person and in two days they scheduled me for a meter change and now they are estimating my back bills because of their incompetence. I pay or I am without power. The liver person I spoke with Ms. Cervantes basically said it is non-negotiable and she is not permitted to transfer me to her supervisor. She did offer a payment plan. This is what happens when no competition and government regulated. What a joke.

I have been with FPL for almost ten years and never had a returned payment. I recently changed my checking account and forgot to change it in their online system. I made the payment on time but I forgot to make sure there was money in the account associated with their system. They charged me $30 for a returned item fee and an additional fee for a late payment. My bill went from $128 to $163 for one simple mistake. This should be highly illegal. They should be investigated by the PUC and any other state/federal governing board. They have a monopoly and I have no choice but to pay their incredibly high rates or live without electricity.

Had a fully paid balance from from last year 2022 thru April 2023, then suddenly a $3000+ bill due to their billing mistakes following hurricane last fall. They won't tell me why but that I need to pay the full amount...but they will spread it out over 9 months. But added together the current use with the added on 9 months payments for $3000 I am darn near paying them $1000/month, that is ridiculous. If there was a way id sue these guys for charging me for their error. And God knows if I'm late they'll shut off the electric. It's a loosing battle.

I was ready to rent and apartment and requested service on 8/6/2022 with FPL for service. Received an email from FPL that service would be turned on on 8/8/2022. The service never started which was ok since the apartment rental was cancelled due to my transfer. So I cancelled power service on 8/11/2022 and received a confirmation email from FPL. I then get an email from FPL on 8/19/2022 that power was turned on. So I cancelled again. Well as it turns out when I get my new place FPL puts a hook up charge from the previously cancelled service on my bill. Service I never received. FPL relies on online communication because this greedy F upped monopolizing handed corporation sheds its responsibility with its customers and has no incentive to do so because there are no repercussions. There is no way to explain their automated errors to them online. So I tried the FPL in person customer service number which was a joke on me. Over the months I tried numerous times and spoke to at least a dozen representatives. Sometimes on hold for over an hour. Many representatives past the call on to other representatives claiming that had no authority to credit charges. What a bunch of useless representatives right? Some however claimed they saw the error and it would be corrected. Well never happened and meanwhile they started tagging a late fee each month since I was deducting the bogus hook up charge from my payments. Every time I get to a representative to follow up, they claim there is no record of my previous attempts to correct their screw up. Well enough time spent on this so I just went ahead and paid it and late fees. They won. I lost. They could care less for customers. I'm 61 years old and have never experienced a lack of responsibility or customer care from a company. By far worst than any governmental agency or any other or type of online business. I imagine there are some fine people at FPL but for the most part I'd rather not put into print what I think of them or hope for them.

I woke up on my only day off, to a hot house and the power out yet again, the neighborhood in area of 5300 block of SW40th avenue in Dania Beach (fort Lauderdale) has had 14 outages in the last 13 months. They send sone idiot employees that come and put a bandaid on the problem, so it can yet again screw up my day to relax. Then they charge me one of the highest rates in the country. Fix your sh*t FPL, get some management and executive management that knows what they are doing.
I am an educated individual and understand how the power system works, it works only as well as the people installing and replacing old delapitated lines and equipment.
Why can't you get your company straightened out?

We only have one choice and for someone that has lived in many states, that are hit by northeasters, 3-7 foot snowfall, gale winds on a daily schedule and every type of global catastrophe, yet the electricity rarely ever went out.
Is it the people in the north are smarter and more well versed in electrical sciences and care about their neighborhoods?????????? I truly understand that occasional outages happen due to hurricanes, but the New England area gets them also, and has ten times quicker response and resolution time.

My suggestion is you start from the top of the shi**y company and get rid of all the management, then hire managers and executive management that know what they are working with.

The current have not ever been out on a pole and worked to fix an outage.

My take on FPL is they get an F- all around. The absolute worst electric company in the US OF A.

If you have a problem with your bill, for get it, you can never get threw to FPL.
And at any time some one ask for new service they get it right away. FPL does not give old customer notification of cancellation until "after the fact".
Be ware you might not get a bill ever again!
I am still trying to get mine back to be re-connect and this is 100% FPL faught!

In reading these sad reviews one wonders, is it time for FP & L to be held accountable in a class action lawsuit? Then, if found liable, the company would have to pay restitution to its customers for the harm they've caused. How does a company that is charged with serving its citizens get away with causing on-going problems and distress? Do they lobby the legislature hard by throwing money in that direction instead? It appears they are taking advantage of people's kindness and nativity and the fact that their customers are busy, just trying to live their lives. If so, these are the worst types of people who are gaining financially at the expense of others when they should be helping them. One would think/hope that the senior executives at this company would be embarrassed by and ashamed of these reviews.

This is a HORRIBLE company. I believe they should not be permitted to do business!! You can call the Florida Public Service to file complaints against them - if you run into abusive practices at: 850 410-8139. The call center senior account executives have been abusive to me in the midst of the stress of a move on more than one occasion. That is essentially evil behavior, which means the company is a menace to society!! It is not necessary for customers to have to put up with this in the United States of America! I believe our country is better than that and that this is harming the quality of life for hard working Americans! Not all companies behave this way. Some actually care about their customers. FP & L it seems has a monopoly and so they are taking advantage of thei position! Operating as a business in this country should be a privilege, not an absolute right. You can also file a complaint with the FTC( (Federal Trade Commission).), if you think FP & L has engaged in bad business practices! Companies can be fined a lot of money by the FTC! Then, of course, you can write an OP-ED in the Miami Herald or reach out to other members of the press such as ProPubluca, if you are so inclined. If the truth is revealed at large about the arrogance and abuse with wihich this company has been doing business, the consequences will be theirs and the public will get the respect it deserves!!

I have lived in FL for over 23 years and I have NEVER IN MY LIFE PAID $250 in Electricity EVER. I live alone and dont even use my AC!!!! YOU HAVE LITERALLY DOUBLED MY BILL KNOWING FOOD PRICES HAVE SKY ROCKETED TO RIDICULOUS HEIGHTS. THIS IS DISGUSTING. They give no warnings as far as disconnects go, they charge you random fees and then can't explain why they're charging you random fees, they promise someone will be out to service you and then no one ever shows.
They're a damn monopoly and know that no one can get power anywhere else, so in turn they screw everyone over and collect their money and don't care about fixing any problems or distress they cause. They're actually disgusting.

They came and shut our power off for no reason. They literally screwed up, I heard the woman say "we messed up" and decided to make it our fault anyways. Still no power and temps are up. Took them two seconds to come shut it off WRONGFULLY but I'm guessing we'll be without power for many days because they're awful people.

this company i garbage. If i had an option to work with another company i would. Very unprofessional, lazy, incompetent, does not listen to customer feedback at all and completely disregards of any account to my knowledge! This is disgusting, my first experience with an electric company that is completely garbage and illiterate.

In December 1/2022 I reported the streetlight in front if my house was damaged since Hurricane Nicole, in January 9/2023 I made again the report for the sane problem, I called two times to the customer service and I spoke to the supervisor, but nothing happened, today when I check the tickets the computer said, the streetlight are repaired, which is a LIE!!!!! Disrespectful!!!!

I cannot contact a human being at FPL to help me with my problem. Did either directs you to a general help menu, or gives you options for the chatbot to answer questions. If your question does not fit the parameters they give you, your sh#* out of luck.

FPL charges over $300 from my house to have electricity and every other day I wake up and I have no lights because the power has been shut off because of a down wire or a generator or something so either you get better equipment for the lights or you lower my mother f****** bill I'm not being nice to people no more I'm tired of waking up to no lights I work too hard to pay my electric bill I'm f****** time so you don't b**** as an electric company you b**** b**** b**** you got people out there that don't pay their f****** bill they don't pay their bill and their lights are on I pay my bill every f****** month I wake up almost every day to an outage you you my electric bill is $300 you can't put $150 of it away for a new transmitter new wires you guys are so pathetic

FPL in FL where hurricane Ian hit us and we been out of jobs and they still hit people like me that been one day late here and there 366 dollar deposit as if we're not having trouble paying the electric bill why would they think a deposit would help us no it only helps them the government and nothing more!! This is why family members have committed suicide over hardships like FPL does people. They know they got you by the balls because there is no other electric company you can go to like cable and phone service!! FPL really stands for F#ck Peoples lives!! I'm going to check into solar and see what they have in store cause FPL has no heart not even during covid or destruction like hurricanes!!
