i love linksys devices i have e4200,wet610n and wap610n andit works perfeclty fine. i called the technical support overseas, my call was misrouted to the philippines and the tech that help me was very intelegent and she's very friendly. i am very satisfied with their technical support. my problem is i need to open a ports for my xbox and in just 15 minutes my xbox works.

Hello!!! I just spent around 1h on the phone with a REALLY GREAT TECH SUPPORT AGENT JAMES. He was very patient and clear with his instructions. Even when I was not sure which wire he was referring to, he slowly and patiently directed me to it and thanks to him, my internet connection is now ok! THANK YOU SO MUCH JAMES!!!! :D :D :D

After reading the comments here I was a little skeptical calling for support from Linksys. Yes, we have to pay a fee, and I do think it's a little expensive ($30) but since I'm technologically challenged we had no choice. The girl who helped me was named Jean, I believed. She was so nice and helpful. I kept messing up but she was very patient and guided me through each steps. I think I kept her on the line for more than 2 hours.

And I don't think they just want your money like some people had claimed. She spent about 30 minutes with me just checking to see if all my devices are working before she helped me with my problem, just in case it's because something is malfunctioned.

I also didn't have to wait at all before she picks up, which was a good experience.

i find all these comments funny, whaaaaaaaaaay my product was out of warranty and they wanted to charge me for support.

alot of companies if you are out of warranty thats it, they wont even talk to you.

which is perfectly within thier right either way.

bottom line is you wanted to not have to do any of the work to finding a soulution for YOUR problem, just just wanted the fairy wand waved and problem fixed and service free of charge.

guess what the world doesnt work that way, linksys's site isnt the only resource out there. search enignies can find you complete walkthroughs with click thrus for your specific model of device.

learn how your device works or if you are too lazy buy another one even though your current one is perfectly servicable.

above all quit blaiming companies and other people for Your laziness and lack of responsibility.

I wanted to let you know that after 2 years, I got Cisco/Syslink to replace my power supply for the IP cam. Not only that they replace it, they have sent me 2 power cords. Since then the IP cam has been running 24x7.

its a beautiful service, i call it all the time whenever i need help on my Linksys E-2000 router...i even dropped it one time and they were able to replace it for no cost at all!

I called Linksys for assistance and after reading all these posts was not looking forward to talking to them about my problem. I was VERY SATISFIED with the help I received. I could not have asked for better service. Maybe I was just lucky, but absolutley NO complaints here

Tech Support can actually walk you through in getting the WIRELESS SETTINGS of your router regardless of its warranty status(that includes the password), GIVEN that you DID NOT FORGET THE PASSWORD for the routers page, IF we cannot open the routers page and get the information that you need there the technician has to RESET your router and that would mean advance troubleshooting. Of course theres a charge for that if the warranty has already expired, you're saying you'll buy a new router instead how about if you try to check there TECHNICAL SUPPORT policy first for out of warranty devices.

Agents are also humans, don't you think calling them an idiot is pretty harsh? If you have been on the phone for almost an hour, that means your issue is quite COMPLEX because if it was simple technicians would be able to resolve it right away. Technicians are just giving you instructions, after all you are the ones who do the hand work.

Do you really expect to get a LIFETIIME warranty for an ELECTRONIC DEVICE?





NOTE: If you weren't rude to begin with, agents will actually treat you a lot BETTER.


I am not an agent, I am not also a linksys loyal customer, I called linksys support several times already some of my issues were resolved some were not. Calling someone an idiot for not being able to solve your concern isn't really a good idea.

hello everybody,
i'm Rahima from Dubai, U.A.E,
called the support system team for configuration of a new linksys router, which i purchased recently. Mike attended my call, he was so patient with me, since my knowledge of english and technical tersms were very little.

i also used a network card and modem long time back from linksys brand, and the support team really helped me out with my problems.

A great support system is one of my strongest motives to use linksys products again and again.

I really have no idea why people are having problems with the tech support people. I just followed the instructions on this page and was quickly connected to a person, who was able to completely fix my problem. It couldn't have been better!

Excellent support from a very helpful and patient young lady. Of course they try to sell products, it's "Free" support, like "Free TV" you have to watch commerecials.
Very Satisfied.

I had to pay 29.99 for the additional service of my OOW product, but it was worth it, problem was solved immeadiately, the technician who received my call even called me back to check on my network. Linksys gave me the feeling of a good customer service again.

Not every tech support provides such less charge for the products running OOW.

Got really excellent tech support from them. I had to wait about 2 - 3 seconds for a technician.

My wireless router had stopped working. I'd lost all the information I recorded when I initially set up the wireless router. The technician walked me through several settings. We got it working again quickly. The technician was very friendly and helpful. I'm really glad I bought Linksys.

I have read many feedback especially from the negative side but I really do believe its a bridge of leading to misunderstanding perhaps language barrier. First off, with the out of warranty devices, I believe all company has this policy its just a matter of logic. How can a company run with a lifetime support, just think about it.

And for those issues like getting the security key and whatnot, here's the ordeal if there's something you will be changing inside the router or merely adding configuration that is called "technical support". And for those cases they only asked for their network key that is because probably on the way of getting your network key there is a problem you encountered like we have to do some additional advance configuration to the router. Simple as that! If the client has not messed up the network in the first place why would you even call in the first place. That's because you need help.. And as much as the agents wants to help you, but it's part of company's protocol to check if client's device is still entitled to free technical support. And as much as price of the services is involved, please check the competitions' prices then you'll be surprised, why you're complaining now. Guys we always want to help you. We are committed to customers satisfaction by providing quality, worldwide technical support. So please do meet us halfway, that's all we need......

well!! i'm a linksys customer & have been using their products from quite a long time
tech support asks for money. initially i was hesitant...but soon came came to know that networking is not as easy as i thought....
i had called to get my sec. key....they told me that it was out of warranty...& i agreed foe 29.99 bucks..while trouble shooting i realized that i have forgot login password
& then we had to reset router & did all the settings again....god bless rep. he was so patient...he made my 4 laptops,1 printer,1 i-phone,& ps3 online.it took us 1 hr. to do all this..but i am happy.....i realize all this ip address & ssid is not a simple thing...HATS OFF the router is working as it was before....i suggest all you people not to mess with settings yourself & once your router is setup.... make a note of each & every information..that will help you from escaping that support fees....for every other brand.....ALL THE BEST!!!

I can sense that a lot of people who posted negative comments about the company has something to do with their device being out of warranty and they were declined of free technical assisstance. I believe almost all companies has that policy coz it will help finance the offset of the technical support and also these customers are enjoying free service when their device are still in warranty. But if they don't want to pay for the extended technical services. there is the linksys website that is very comprehensive and detailed compared to most competitors'.I found the website very helpful and it will even provide you step-by-step instructions if you're just patient browsing.I posted this comment because I received a very outstanding service from a linksys technician the first time I installed the router and had no problem since then.

Linksys support was very helpful and spoke great English -- they all sounded like native English speakers, although there was sometimes an accent. I've called three times now, and each time they solved everything by talking me through it. It actually surprised me because I'm so used to tech support always being terrible. I've been able to learn a lot about my Linksys products and how my home network works by talking to their reps. I want to find more companies like Linksys and only buy their products. For networking equipment, there's no way I'd use anything else now.

I do not know the name of the tech who helped me but he was great! Somehow, while trying to directly wire my son's xbox360 we managed to loose our wireless connection. All I wanted was to get our laptops working again, but explained how I "broke" it. After fixing my wireless setup, he offered to get the xbox setup also. I was just going to go out and spend $99 for the wireless adapter, but he talked me through the wired setup. My call ref #091011-0121071. Please let him know my son is extremely happy now.

In the last 4 years I have bought 4 linksys products. 3 of them did not work correctly "out of the box" and I had to contact technical support. They were very helpful and fixed the problems. (e.g. oh yes it doesn't work with XP service pack 3 you need to re-install the older firmware!!). When one product broke down recently I discovered that technical support is no longer free and now costs 10 pence per minute. Without free technical support I shall not buy linksys products in future.
