Upgrading with Nero is like being forced to buy a new car when all you want is new tyres.
Going the upgrade route from v8 to v11 is a no-can-do for Win-XP 64-bit even tho they explicitly say: on 64-bit systems it will run in 32-bit compatibility mode - Nope!
Win32 is OK - but not Win64 - but it will work if you install v11 on Vista or 7 in 64-bit, go figure!
I refuse to have to buy a new OS when mine works fine just to accommodate their non-backwards compatibility stupidity; some works, some doesn't. There is no consistency with this out of touch company.
No refund!

Be very wary of this company and its business practices.

They mailshotted me selling an upgrade from Nero 10 to Nero 11 with all the benefits of the new model. I was NOT offered a fre trial, but I did upgrade, having done so in the past.

The contract was quite clear. In capital letters, I was told I could cancel within 14 days without giving a reason.

In fact I cancelled after my first use of the product. First, the preview panel does not work and, secondly, is 2 to 3 times slower at burning DVDs.

Nero has refused a refund and MasterCard have, so far, ben unable to help. Sure it does state quite clearly about cancellations, but nowhere in the T&Cs does it offer refunds.

Their technical, legal and customer services departments are the pits.

Purchased the newest version of Nero. I tried to install it. I was unable to install. I requested a refund. I was told they only refund if there is a bug or a tech problem. I thought being unable to install is a tech problem. Still my request for a refund was denied. I have been a customer for several versions of this program. I might have purchased another version before being denied this refund. I tried to use my logon and found it was cancelled. This was after being told they would help with the install. I will never purchase from Nero again! I suggest everyone tell anyone who will listen that Nero is not Customer Friendly!

I purchased Nero 10 downloadable. I tried for hours to get clean install, worked with their tech support, etc. They couldnt fix it, I couldnt fix it and they wouldnt refund my money. I filed complaints with the BBB and other agencies.. I will NEVER purchase from them again..

after i updated nero 10 it doesnt work any more and now get rubbish all over my pc , i tried customer support but could not contact them

I recently downloaded the Nero Clipart for my Nero 10 Multimedia suite. Now Nero Vision keeps throwing back an error. I contacted support at the start of August and they requested that I send them a screen shot and a .cab file. I did that, they then returned saying they never got the email. Since then I have sent them 4 emails with the files they require and each time they deny ever receiving them. On Friday I sent all the files again, including a screen shot showing that the items were successfully sent. They came back today apologising that they never received them!!! I don't know what else to do - this has to be the worst company for customer support. I'm going to investigate if as an international consumer I have any rights to take some type of action, as I purchased the product legally. With support like this no wonder so many download it illegally, I certainly would not recommend anyone purchasing Nero products with this appalling lack of customer support.

Same thing with me. Upgraded my Nero 8 to Nero 10 and didn't work worth a damn. Finally did get straightened out. Upgraded to Platinum HD version and that has now screwed up my Nero Vision once again. I am not going to waste my days screwing with their damn software any longer. It's total crap!!!!!!

i have a problem with nero 9 and when consulting nero support ablut it, they basically blew me off. the offered nothing but fluff answers and said that it wasn't their problem.

Impossible to deal with. Refuse to give me the product I piad 65.00 for.
They claim it is my fault their product will not work!
This is not a company you want to spend your money with. If you give your moeny to them...DON'T WXPECT ANYTHING IN RETURN. THEY will just take your money.
And then NOT GIVE YOU THE PRODUCT!
TERRIBLE COMPANY. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.COMPANY IS COMPLETELY WORTHLESS!

I have no success with Nero 10 product. The downloaded manuals are very difficult to follow. The customer service is terrible. The phone support is useless. This product is lucky it was rated 363 out of 368. It should have been rated below the lowest bad rating possible.

First off - when I purchased online, I received a unique password for my account to download and manage my activations. Don't ever lose this password... the NERO website to retrieve it DOES NOT WORK (my.nero.com). It hasnt worked in over 6 months now - it never has. Nice QA.

So when I call, I get sent through a f*cking loop to no end and can't get anyone to deactivate from my old computer to my new computer. I finally said screw it, and went back to downloading cracked versions. I actually bought this because I liked the product... but the customer support - is so overwhelming bad - more or less, non-existent, so yes - I am the proud new owner of A cracked Nero 10 version. Big middle finger to Nero.

Just unbelievably arrogant, unresponsive and lacking any concept of customer care. But remember Nero is a German organisation and the never get things wrong (LOL!).

Nero customer service is borderline fraudulent. They make promises about refunds and don't deliver. Then when you make a follow up call they never have any record of your previous call. I will never purchase another product from Nero again!

I got a trial version of WaveEditor and liked it, then tried to purchase a key to activate mp3Pro. The key doesn't work, the program will not accept it, and there is no way to get a hold of anyone at Nero to get a fix.

I guess I will take this up with my credit card company and NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM NERO AGAIN! This is a classic case of how not to do customer service.

That's too bad, because overall their products have been decent, they obviously have some good people working on their stuff. I'd hate to be saddled with the reputation of having worked for a company like this though.

Agree that they are horrible. Bought a download product, that wouldn't download. There policy is no refunds until you spend dollars per minute with technical support.

Nero customer service is no doubt the worst ever in the world. Called them today regarding an order issue. The representative was impolite and incompetent and didn't solve any problem. Total waste of time and money. Won't buy it again even Nero is the best product in the world.
