I made a mistake in my initial reservation, the agent was so accommodating I almost flipped out of my chair. The hold time was minimum as I pressed the # key after giving my info. The change cost me nothing and I saved $295 off my original purchase. The draw is I have to wait 5days for the original transaction to be reversed. Kyle was the agent and she was GREAT!!!

Overall I found this company very helpful. I have used it many times. Its seems that some people's problem is that they were over charged at the destination by so much. Well, if you read on the website, ORBITZ specifically tells you that there may be tax or other fees that may apply. The only problem that I have ever had with them is the $2 pre-authorization funds check. But that was only my first time using ORBITZ.

I needed to cancel my Orbitz flight + car pkg less than 24 hrs after scheduling (~24 hrs is their cut off for this option,as i understd). They only charged me $25 to cancel & said they would refund my nearly $900 o/w...And although i was on hold for nearly 30', eventually someone did answer and was very nice & very helpful.

After this initial 24 hr window i understand it is much harder to cancel pkgs.

Good morning.

I was recently booked an a flight from Phoenix to Houston then another flight to La Guardia. The La Guardia flight was cancelled two days before the trip.I called Orbitz to see what could be done but was not hopeful because the weather was so bad in the midwest.

I was routed to Megan who I learned was in your Guatamala facility. She was very helpful, spoke fine English and went the extra mile to help me, eventually getting me on a flight through Denver so I could connect with my son on time as he also traveleled to New York.

Megan couldnt get the results she wanted at first and promised to call me back, which she did twice.Eventually she sorted it out with grace and initiative.

I commend her to you . You are lucky to have her working for you.

With a internet customer satisfaction rating of 2.2 out of 5, my expectations were pretty low. Must be my lucky day. Telephoned in 800 number was answered promptly by "Jasper" in the Phillipines. She was cordial, and was obviously trying hard to be accommodating. For being a cold call, it did not take her long at all to get to the heart of the matter. Spent a bunch of time on hold, but given what she was accomplishing, it was not outrageous. Eventually got everything settled. How I MISS the old days of simply walking up to the counter, laying down the requisite number of greenbacks, handing your ticket to the gatekeeper, and strapping in for nap!

I recently flew to Washington DC from ORD and received the usual email flight confirmation. A few days later, I received an update due to change in flight number. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I found that neither the original nor update contained the correct number! The correct flight# was 7487; but neither email mentioned this one...luckily my daughter in law found it using my record number.
No call from Orbitz informed me of this. I had a missed call that morning; but no voice mail.
I am disappointed in your service!

I booked with Orbitz on a couple of flights coming up later. I called back to get seating changed and other assistance. The first agent had such an accent,I had to ask her a couple of times to repeat what she said. She didn't like that and disconnected me.When I called back, I was connected with AMM, she was wonderful. She went over and above my expectations for assistance. Too bad everyone isn't as helpful and plesant in their work with their customers. Thanks Amm.

Man this phone call was crazy!!! They must get commission for every flight they book because she tried everything in her POWER to book that flight.(hahaha)Super friendly and helpful though just too persistant...

I realized the iternerary Orbitz booked us on was impossible to complete (flight arrival and departure at the mid-way stop were 30 minutes apart) so I called to see if they could help. The person was super friendly and agreed that it didn't make any sense, so he called the airline to see if they could reschedule to a new flight. They fixed it quickly and free of charge so we had a much better layover.

i call orbitz and Juan was an excellent agent he help me!!! i know that you guys always says that the agents are not good but don't you think that we should read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS for each ticket or each hotel reservation so in this case we will be able to know what we can do!!! cause they are only agents and of couse they can not chage a name on a ticket everyone knows that!!!! and the ones that does not know that is because they are stupids"!!

I called to rebook and found the experience very pleasant, and the attendant helpful. As with most experiences, I find that if you are able to be patient and friendly you are given the same consideration in return.

Called orbitz and talked to a wonderful agent Kris who did everything in her power to make things work. She was friendly and had great customer service skills and I was lucky that she was the agent that took our call. I hope this comment finds her because she is good at what she does and you are lucky to have her!

I had to cancel a trip with Orbitz at the Treasure Island in Las Vegas, due to my wife having appendicitis and needing surgery the day we were supposed to leave. Orbitz got the Treasure Island on the phone for me and I received a full refund from them, even though I was past their deadline. Great job from Orbitz and the Treasure Island both. I booked through Orbitz before and all the fees and penalties info is there when you're doing a reservation, sometimes the links are in small letters, but hey, we know how contracts are, when you dont click on the links for that type of info is like singning a contract without reading it. The only thing I didnt understand was a charge for $2 that was never advised to me it was going to be charged to my credit card, so I called them and they explained me it was a pre-authorization charge to check my fundings and that this was going to be refunded, and it was refunded back to my account in around 72 hours. Finally the other thing I hate about reservations is the change fees from the airlines, from $75 to $150 and $250 for some international itineraries, I thought Orbitz was charging this so I called the airline (United) and this is a charge directly from them. My advise to you all: compare prices,penalties,rules from the airline and Orbitz before booking a reservation and you'll notice is pretty much the same, but Orbitz wins in the end because they are able to refund your money if you cancel the reservation within the first 24hrs, well, actually if you cancel it before 10pm central time of the next day, hey, definitely, that's a plus!!

We have just had a fantastic experience with Orbitz Customer Service. Our daughter is at university in England and was due to come home for Spring Break on Saturday March 20. We booked her flight on British Airways through Orbitz. The flight was canceled due to the planned strike at British Airways starting on March 20.
The representative at the North Dakota office was great. How helpful she was!! Straightaway she was sympathetic and practical at the same time. While making phone calls to British Airways with long wait times she was examining and discussing all the alternatives with us. She was successful in arranging a new itinerary which will still get our daughter back on March 20.

Through Orbitz, I booked reservations for my adult son and 7-year-old grandson with medical problems. No direct flight was available. Initially, layover time was only ONE hour. Several e-mails with schedule changes by the airline arrived, the last with a SEVEN-hour layover. I was forced to cancel the reservation and make other accommodations. I went over the matter from beginning to end with Julianna at Orbitz. She was professional, empathetic and more than kind. It was a pleasure doing business with her! WHAT I LEARNED: Don't make reservations SO far in advance (in this case, 4 months). Too long a time frame almost guarantees flight changes!

In the chaos following all the February snow storms the Orbitz representative was able to resolve my problem even better than I had imagined. She was able to contact my airline,
cancel the flights I was unable to use, AND secure a refund. Thank you, Cherese. This is a very pleasant Valentine.

well after 49 hours and 25 minutes the problem was resolved thanks to Natasha, who seems to really care about the problem, so mad but not so mad. Give Natasha a raise, she save you from being reported to the BBB.
