I have been a long time customer with pep boys for over 7 years, I have brought my last 3 vehicles to you and have had thousands of dollars worth of repairs done. I never had an issue before this. On Friday 09/16/22 I sent my car to pep boys via pep boys tow through the 800 Pepboys number. The tow truck came and dropped my car off to the Baldwin, ny location under warranty for a service repair that I received in February. I called the store @ 4:51 pm to make sure my car was dropped off, they told me it just got there not to long ago. I went up there later that evening to check on the status of my car. I was told that there was only one mechanic on duty and they will be working on my car on Saturday instead. Saturday morning I called them @10:24am to check the status of my car, they told me they hadn't started it yet they will call me after they check it out, they called me back @11:12am and said the key was broken from the fob. They told me they weren't responsible the tow truck driver done it. No matter if it was done by the mechanics or the tow truck driver, their both under pep boys. Not too mention if the tow truck driver handed them a key in 2 pieces no one noticed it? They had many opportunities to bring it to my attention if they received the key broken. Also the tow truck driver jumped my car right here in my parking lot, put the car in neutral and towed it up the tow bed. He would not have been able to get my car on or off the flat bed if the key was broken. Now they are telling me there is nothing they can do that I have to buy another key, but I don't understand why I would need to buy another key when someone under pep boys is responsible. Attached I have a photo of the key that I took Saturday afternoon when I went to the store to speak with the manager in person. Also I'm sending screenshots of the phone calls I made to the store and 800 number.
