I have been a long time customer with pep boys for over 7 years, I have brought my last 3 vehicles to you and have had thousands of dollars worth of repairs done. I never had an issue before this. On Friday 09/16/22 I sent my car to pep boys via pep boys tow through the 800 Pepboys number. The tow truck came and dropped my car off to the Baldwin, ny location under warranty for a service repair that I received in February. I called the store @ 4:51 pm to make sure my car was dropped off, they told me it just got there not to long ago. I went up there later that evening to check on the status of my car. I was told that there was only one mechanic on duty and they will be working on my car on Saturday instead. Saturday morning I called them @10:24am to check the status of my car, they told me they hadn't started it yet they will call me after they check it out, they called me back @11:12am and said the key was broken from the fob. They told me they weren't responsible the tow truck driver done it. No matter if it was done by the mechanics or the tow truck driver, their both under pep boys. Not too mention if the tow truck driver handed them a key in 2 pieces no one noticed it? They had many opportunities to bring it to my attention if they received the key broken. Also the tow truck driver jumped my car right here in my parking lot, put the car in neutral and towed it up the tow bed. He would not have been able to get my car on or off the flat bed if the key was broken. Now they are telling me there is nothing they can do that I have to buy another key, but I don't understand why I would need to buy another key when someone under pep boys is responsible. Attached I have a photo of the key that I took Saturday afternoon when I went to the store to speak with the manager in person. Also I'm sending screenshots of the phone calls I made to the store and 800 number.

Absolutely awful. I sat here for 6 hours! After 6 hours of waiting, they say we just started on your car. The Claremont location, San Diego. I am 66 years old. Not any offer of water. Lied about the time to wait over & over. Laughing behind the counter and on their cell phones! Do not give them business!

I previously went to the Largo location and the customer service was always great. I followed what I thought what a great mechanic to the Pinellas Park location and turned into my worst experience with the work performed and customer service. I went in to check the code on a check engine light and within minutes I was told my sparks plugs, wires, and coil pack needed replaced. I previously replaced these less than 10k miles prior but put my trust in the shop ($900 repair). Not even 5 miles of driving after the repair, the check engine light reappeared with the same engine misfire code. I went back and forth on four different occasions over a 3-week period for the same issue that they did not repair the first time. Each time they only tried new spark plugs and after the 4th attempt, I was told that it could possibly be my fuel injectors; however, they did not test them and the mechanic said he didn't know really what was causing it (he's also supposed to be an expert on jeeps). They called me after the 4th attempt and told me it would be $2100+ to replace the fuel injectors (also fairly new with less than 50k miles). They tried to explain that my jk year/model needs specific parts and they had to basically take the engine apart to access the injectors to replace. Knowing that they are located at the top of my engine and only requires a few hoses and bolts to be removed, I stated that I would get a second opinion and their response was "good luck".

I have never experienced such rude customer service from the front desk guy (Clint), who was rude on the phone and in person. I had to leave my vehicle there overnight or over the weekend on all 4 occasions and I was not contacted when my jeep was ready and had to call them on the status. Additionally, when I picked my jeep up after the second occasion, they left the lights on and my battery was dead. Clint and the mechanic made it seem like it was a burden to jump start the car and were very rude and short in their comments.

My recommendation for anyone going here is to get a second opinion before dumping $$$ in unnecessary repairs, especially if you're a female and they try to explain that the repairs are needed. I've had jeeps for 10 years and they clearly did not know how to diagnose or repair a misfire; other than knowing how to replace a spark plug. Save yourself the $$$ and get a code reader on Amazon ($30 vs their $99 just to read the code).

For those wondering, I got my second opinion and it was a fuel system flush ($8 bottle) and my Jeep is running perfectly with no issues. Lesson learned and customer lost.

I had appointment at 12 noon Friday I showed up at 1130 am to have 2 wheel studs installed on my 2004 ford explorer because I had three broken studs already so I had 2 good studs 8 drove on I will never go back to this shop or refer anyone to go here it took them 5 in a half to 6 hours later to tell me that the work couldn't be done and that I only had one stud and that I couldn't have my keys to my vehicle and I feel the tech should be reliable to pay for the stud he broke and his name is Jessie they should of said something way before 530 pm 0r 6pm

I had an appointment for an oil change at 9.00 am. This services was the manager special which included tire rotation. This was never done. I waited almost 3 hours before I got my vehicle. The services was awful at your location in orlando.

I will never go to pep girls again, this was my first and last I went in for an oil change, I asked if they could check air pressure in my tires and that I would be glad to pay them for it, the guy, well a kid, tells me it is included in the oil change, so when I get my vehicle back, my settings on the dash were all set differently, but the problem was is that now my low tire light is on showing which tire is low and when I pull over at a gas station I had 13 lbs of air in one tire, 20 in another and 27 in the other two, I would not have minded so much if it was a $39.95 oil change but it was over $100, I am sure they don't need my business but if enough people keep leaving enough negative comments, which I see is a lot, then maybe someone will start to pay attention

Pep Boys in Patchogue, NY. Went for an oil change, state inspection & alignment.

Never have i ever been charged $118 for an oil change! Then they tell me i need brakes, rotors and pads. The brakes were FULLY changed in March, 2021 and there is no way i had put 25k+ miles on my car since then. Then they are pushing a new battery on me because it should be at 13 and mine is at 12.5!

Now 4 months ago I paid $55 for an oil change at Firestone. They also did the brakes in March of 2021. I dont feel as if Firestone is ever pushing unneeded services on me or worse yet out right lying about my car.

Pep Boys on the other hand was insistent that I get the brakes done and battery replaced. They also said there were no dash lights on, which was technically untrue. The car was out of wiper solution. As a courtesy Firestone ALWAYS fills the dispenser free of charge. Pep Boys not only didnt fill it, they didn't ask me if I wanted it filled for the cost of a gallon.

Whats more, the staff looked and acted like bored, spoiled teenagers, who were annoyed that people were coming in to have their cars serviced. They were so engrossed in their phones, unable to barely look-up at the customers, never smiled once, didn't know what their products were or what they were supposed to cost.

It was the WORST experience I've ever had getting my car repaired and I've been a car owner for 44 years. Will never go to Pep Boys again, even if they paid me.

For years , i felt service was dependable. After this final time no......Men at store were unprofessional. After spending 2500 on repair, my engine was blown. I asked if they knew this before i spend the money.He said only if they did a pressure test, would they have know. Supposedly they did a pressure test, why was this not seen. They knew my engine was shot and still had me to fix other things around it.This is poor and unacceptable customer service. I will never use pep boys again. I wont name store but the service has gone , WAY DOWN. They get upset when you ask question. Shame on these ppl taking my hard earned money and it was not necessary.I end up havving to get another car. ASAP.Waiting for response from Corporate

Very unprofessional. Bad attitude as well. The manager left the helm to an employee who doesn't even know hoe to work the register. Imagine that. Can't handle light pressure. Blames the customer when it turns out the customer knows more than them in regards of politeness. Newbie's should have more workshops especially the managing department.

Pep Boys store. Mechanic Ulyses who worked in Pep Boys San German, PR messed up or mounted wrong a link screw from a NEW front right plate for my SUV. Now I have to pay the price and I ve been treated like garbage now. I ve been very disatisfied with customer service since then from this store located in San German, PR. Nothing has been done to satisfy me as a custumer so far. It s been a terrible customer service experience.

Incompetent staff.list a lug nut on my car.said they weren't responsible!
Put some kind of lug nut and stripped the stud.cost me plenty money.paid 700.00 for tires they are the only ones to touch my car.imcompetent!!! Will not advise anyone to go there.first and last experience with this lot!

Very disappointed. No customer service. Got a tune- up about 18 months ago. Took to dealer because it wasn't running right and was told that I needed a tune up. Pep boys said that the warranty expired. What? I've had most of my cars forever and never had to do a tune up 2 times in their lifetime. Called customer service. Assistant manager . Area manager basically told me they weren't going to help me. They lost a great customer today!

Every single experience with Pep boys has been a NIGHTMARE. The maple shade store charged me for work, brake pads that were NOT changed, then they sent me to the marlton store to correct the issue. The marlton store fixes my air condition, only to leave and the system NOT be fixed. Then they tell me to bring back to fix it. The cherry hill store replaces a hub assembly and puts on my truck the WRONG hub assembly. I go back to the 6 times only to be told to go to Marlton yet again. I went to Marlton store and I am STILL WAITING on a solution. This has been since Oct. 2021. They are all AWFULL! Do not go to any of the Pep Boys in the Cherry Hill, Maple Shade, and Marlton, Nj locations. They do NOT hire TRAINED employees. The sales men are ok but it ends there. The management team from store manager to regionals are all APATHETIC and INDIFFERENT to all situations that arise from their STAFF which is NOT CERTIFIED. These so called mechanics should not be working on anyones car. Their INADEQUACY in training may prove CATASTROPHIC one day for someone. STAY AWAY!

I scheduled an appointment for oil change at Pepboys East Brunswick, NJ branch. Prior to bringing my car to the shop, I called their service center to ask if I could bring my own oil and filter which was readily accepted by the phone desk person. Upon arriving at the shop, I was told by the manager (in charge on March 23, 2022 5 pm) that he does not allow customers bringing their own oil for he had a lot of bad experience about it. He claims that he does not want to be responsible for damage to the car that wrong oil will do. I told him that I have been supplying my own oil and filter for years and that the person who answered my call said it is ok. He still rudely denied me. I went to another Pepboys shop (Edison branch) and my request was easily accommodated. I think this East Brunswick manager should be fired for his personal baseless policy that other employees don't even know about.

The pep boys at 1846 5 Avenue located in Bayshore NY, has the worst customer service ever. I made appointment online for 2pm to get a oil change, once I got inside the store the gentleman told me " I have wait until 3pm his mechanic needed to go on lunch." I even call the corporate office due to a manager not being on site for me to speak to." I wait until 3pm only to get turn around by rude person at the desk telling me I should waited inside not outside he have to take those customers first. This was the worst experience I ever had in my life time. I even try to get a positive attitude but who hired the people in that particular store made a very bad Decision for business.

ALL customers reading this review, please beware of this store. I also spoke with my neighbor in regards to the store, to my surprise he had a similar experience...

Average at best at their service centers. Corporate service sucks. 0 rating. Lousy. Old saying. A fish Rots from the head down. This is actually becoming the new American Corporate Norm. No way to contact them unless you speak a foreign language. And if you do get someone they can only document your call not fix anything. Bye PepBoys

Marlton New Jersey location, my car was Already Diagnose at another location, for passengers side low control arm I planning to repair soon but it worsted that day.I was told it could be repaired, then told I could leave it because the tech was leaving for the day 330pm thank God I didn't do that know telling what would've happened, so a day later brought it back to be repair, and they repair the wrong side, now telling me eventually both side needed it wow.no one saying nothing to me how this happen in how they're going to resolve the situation. Just send me on my way.

Took My Van Into store 1539 Pep Boys in Milton Florida supposed to be there for two used tires less than our six and a half hours later I left had the two tires on but my van was damaged somehow in the main process they damaged my lower control arm frame Mount they refuse to fix it and I think that's a sorry excuse of business that won't own up to what they've done my name is Rodney games and I wish somebody would do something about this about your ongoing thing seems to be happening to everybody to work at Pep Boys and go to Pep Boys thank you

I had to have Pep Boys on Jupiter work on my jeep because it overheated on the highway I was 71 miles away from home and they were the closest place, after fixing my vehicle I paid half and I had to sign up for $1000 credit to pay for the rest. While driving home the same day after they fixed it I had to have it towed the same day Because it just stopped running in the middle of the highway, I couldn't believe it, right after leaving the Pep Boys to drive home finally, it completely stops driving and radiator coolant is everywhere. I put in a claim and then I lost the claim because on the paper the store states that I need to bring the vehicle back to the store and have them look at it. How the heck am I supposed to bring the vehicle up there 71 miles away that doesn't even run after they worked on it. Now I'm stuck with $1000 debt that I have to pay, a lost claim, and a vehicle that does not run that is leaking radiator coolant all over to all over my yard. I will never recommend Pep Boys to anybody especially the one in Jupiter Florida. And it really sucks for me to have to write something so negative about Pep Boys like this because the one that I visited down in Hollywood that always took care of my jeeps and my vehicles were outstanding and always great, but the Jupiter store, you all are unacceptable.
