I used The Hartford for my short term disability following my surgery. I started my process in in August for my surgery in November to allow for time to get any information that would be needed for my claim. 2 days after my surgery in November I had to go the doctor office to get the information needed to complete my
claim. After having surgery is not the time to get information from the doctor when there was a 3 months to request and obtain the information that was needed.
Secondly, towards the end of my claim again I submitted my return to work letter which included the date of my return and any restrictions. This was submitted in December and my return to work date was 1/31/2024. My approval was completed on 1/31. Per the Hartford Group they needed information from my doctor. I was never informed of that any medical information was needed. I was never was informed that there was any issues with my claim. By allowing this to happen this caused a delay in me receiving my payment which in turn caused return of payments and delays in payment of my bills which in turn created late fees and return fee.
When I discussed the situation with several representatives which includes the claim analyst; all I heard was sorry for any inconvenience this situation created. We are sorry but there is nothing we can do. I was accused of not following up on what I did. This situation has caused me so many issues and to be so distraught and devastated. Your motto is to trust the Hartford Group and I can't. It saddens me that I have to rely on the Hartford Group again.

I start a new claim on the 11/08/23 I'm informed later more bs . Don't get paid once a month on the 20. First it's just me who pays the bills at my house. And the payments I got wasn't even close to what I was making. But I learned how to make it work. But the 20. I'm fxked. My electric and water cell house payment and auto all comes due b4 the 20th. Ty hartford foe all your cRing is. Bet the upper and ceo be warm. And I still have to pay my premium to u ppl.ive turned all I was supposed to do. So don't pull that on me.im on waiting list for surgery are death. So which ever comes first. So putting more stress on me again go fxk yourself. Ty cold and hungry in Missouri. A.Dollar

I am very dissatisfied with Hartford Insurance for the way in which our claim has been handled. It has been a month since our claim has been filed without full resolution. The lack of communication with us has been horrific. We do not understand why the customer has to do their job. We had to take pictures of our roof etc. We then sent them to the claims representative as instructed; yet, we did not hear back from her after multiple voicemails were left. We contacted a supervisor and was assigned to another representative who told us they were now handling the claim. We thought we were making progress and were told the claim was approved and we would receive the full amount of the funds after we sent in the signed contract from the builder. However, during that process/same timeframe, the original representative sent an email letter on a Saturday and a voicemail and just took it upon herself to pay part of the claim and close it out without even speaking to us. We wanted the full amount to be paid at one time so we could work with the builder to fix the roof as quick as possible since we have been having a number of rain storms lately. As of today, additional messages have been left with the representative's and their supervisor without a response or resolution to the matter. We are still waiting for a response and need to get this resolved asap. (Claim number PP0019859452)

Billing is terrible. very disorganized. I shutter to think what you would do if you had a claim. I just paid a bill.. that was not DUE. It was only so I could be forced to complain publicly. You can never get a straight answer.. hold times ridiculous . Iwould never recommend this company for WORKERS COMP INSURANCE..

This continues to be a nightmare for me. I've been getting the run around the whole time my claim has been filed. I'm off because of physical and mental health problems and the way that this company does business only exacerbates the problems.I've had a consumer affairs person reach out and the people they referred me too can't rectify things.This situation has me scared I'm going to end up in the hospital because of this.

Just awful. So many calls to correct errors. Trying to make online payment doesn't work. Chat persons said I had a new policy code and hung up. Called directly told oh that's a new policy code let me transfer you. Now at 11 minute on hold
Literally never wasted so much time with customer service.

Horrible joke of a company. Haven't paid me zero payments in two months now transitioning to long term disability now haven't paid me anything in two months now I can't even afford to pay for my daily medicines or my regular doctor visits due to lack of any payments from the Hartford through my work unfortunately since I've worked for this company for seven long yrs now I have to deal with these clown when I'm too sick and not able to work. I've jumped through all the hoops of Fire they've required and asked for still have received zero pymnts from their company. At this point I am looking into filing a law suit against them since they are a bunch of crooks operating illegally against our rights as us citizens. Only way I'll get them to do what is right and make a example out of them so noone else has to suffer the way I've had to. As of now I'm unable to pay for doctors copay visits and daily meds I must have for my conditions due to Hartfords lack of cooperation and not paying anything for two long months now bills getting behind and all no pymnts at all now they are two months behind paying me anything. Now I having to hire a lawyer to sue them make them do what is right and uphold the law so I will be also sueing for pain and suffering and damages lawyer attorney fees for making them d ok what is right what they should've been doing all along frustration and anger that it is coming down to this upon the stress they have amplified my health conditions due to adding extra stress which amplies my health conditions making them worse all this could've been avoided if they wasn't a bunch of crooks and I held the law did what it right by the law now I will have to sue them and force them to do what is right my patience is run out I have zero EMPATHY for the Hartford NOW if I have to go through all this and sue them to make them do what is the LAW I will expend no expense to hold them to the LAW and ensure noone else has to suffer like the way they have made me and my family suffer I will not spear no expense to hold them accountable be the court of law for what they are doing is soooo soooo wrong in the eyes of justice I will make them pay for what they have done and they will be held accountable if it's the last thing I do right is right and Wrong is Wrong I will Right the Wrong here I have been dealt by the Hartford. I called hartford back in May this year to get a quote for auto insurance, which I was supposed to receive a free gift for doing so, a duffle bag which I would receive in 4-6 wks. This is from hartford ad that I've seen every month in my AARP magazines. Well, here it is August, and no duffle bag! I have called them 3 additional times since my quote call, every time I get the same response, "we'll resend it, will receive in 4-6 wks". BS!!! They don't fulfill the promise they make in their ad. There's no tracking number on alledged package. Every company that I've done business with ordering something ALWAYS has a tracking #, it's common sense! There IS NO DUFFLE BAG being sent out to people! I have called AARP about the lies in their ad, and was told that many many people have also called and said the same exact thing of no duffle being sent to them! So, AARP said they will gladly send me my free gift that the hartford promised many times over to so many people. There is such a thing of doing GOOD BUSINESS, vs BAD BUSINESS, hartford wins the award of BAD BAD BUSINESS. AARP, wins the VERY VERY GOOD BUSINESS award!!! AARP, thank you for always doing the right thing! You guys rock! ??

I find The Hartford staff I have spoken with to be incompetent. I keep getting the run around when for several months I have been told things that never materialize. Their staff say and promise things but nothing ever happens. I wouldn't do business with The Hartford if it was the last insurance company available. I wish there was a way to converse with a top company official who would actually correct problems. Getting through their walls is near impossible.

My job has invested in this company for insurance on us workers. But even though my company has purchased you have to fight tooth and nail to get them to pay you out. I've sent ample amount of information on why I'm out and my case worker has said I don't have the information needed. And my case workers boss is only taking the word of the case worker. I've been out of work since February 11th of 2021. And my case worker told me on the 27th of Feb 2021. To quit my job because I just can't be there long (telling you I have been at my job for almost 8 yrs) and I said I won't be able to make my house payment, she said move out. If these r the type of uncaring individual this company has working there. No wonder why this complaint area is so full.

To Whom It May Concern:
I filed this claim in April 2020. An adjuster from your company came out and made an assessment of my roof and I was awarded $1566.00 for repairs. The check was sent to me BEFORE I had a chance to get my own contractor to look at the damages. I have had 3 different contractors look at my roof and they have all told me that a new roof is required. My home was built in 1999 and I purchased this home in 2004. I have NEVER had the roof replaced. I promptly called and emailed Molly DiGrazia and told her that all 3 of my contractors said that I would require a new roof. I then asked Ms. DiGrazia if she would send out another adjustor to reevaluate the damage to my roof and she told me that The Hartford does not send pout a second adjuster. She told me to email pictures and estimates that my contractor had given me. I sent all information to her and never received a response. I later received a response that Ms.DiGrazia was out of the office indefinitely and that someone by the name of Mr.Richard Davis was taking over my claim. I tried for 2 weeks to contact Mr. Davis and finally received an email from him on July 27th, 2020. I explained to Mr. Davis that the $1566.00 that I was given was not enough to replace my roof and that I wanted someone to reconsider my claim as several months had passed and the damage from the water leaking through my roof has now damaged the ceiling inside my home as well as the drywall and wood floors. I have been dealing with this claim since April 2020 and here it is NOVEMBER 2020 and my roof has not been replaced and YOUR COMPANY THE HARTFORD has NOT bothered to reach out to my by either phone, email, or letter. I find it very disappointing that I am paying my insurance EACH MONTH and I can't even get a respectful phone call regarding my claim. I want this issue fixed. I want compensation for the damage of my ceilings, drywall, and floors. This is my FINAL notice to The Hartford. If I am not contacted by Dec 12th (8 months since I filed claim) I will be getting a lawyer involved.
I have sent in pictures and estimates on 3 different occasions only to be ignored. Remember while your taking your time in contacting me, the damage is getting worse with each rainy day that we have.

My spouse and I were robbed 10/19 upon submitting our claim it took days to get a response from the Hartford adjuster! we have been put through the ringer in attempting to have to prove and justify belongings that were taken, after submitting picture of heirlooms for insurance purposes, along with several receipts. This is completely unacceptable shameful how policy holders are being dealt with AARP is being notified to show them how the Hartford attempts to scam its policy holders out of paying claims. Thought the Hartford stood for something?

I have received a telephone call from the Hartford for the past 20 straight days. The call comes from a Hartford assigned phone number of 800-460-9706 at 9:25 am each morning. I have contacted the company several times, but nothing is done to stop the harassment. Finally, I contacted a "Michelle" in the executive office and she was absolutely no help at all! She tried telling me this was not a company telephone number (totally wrong!) and that "scammers" were doing it. She refused to let me speak to the CEO of the company.......guess she's in total control and runs Hartford.

Dear Sir, or to whom it may concern. Just to make it short on here because there is too much to say. However, I will follow this up with a letter. The person handling my claim is lying to me, and is trying to take my money for my car that was totaled out! She made up a tax law that the state of Illinois do not have to take 8.5% in taxes on the amount of my car for what it is worth, and $500.00 for other things that was not true from a report that she said came from the CDE that has a contract with the Hartford. Well I checked with Illinois State Laws who wants me to do a three-way with her over the phone because we do not have an Illinois Exempt A Tax Law, and the damage report on my car that determines the value of my car which she said came from CDE was found to be not true because I went to the CDE to get my things out of my car and I took pictures! She was informed of this and told me, "ME AND MY TEAM ARE NOT DOING THIS OVER AND WE ARE STICKING WITH THE PRICE WE QUOTED TO YOU." IN OTHER WORDS THE HARTFORD GROUP DON'T CARE even if what we told you was found to be not true! So, I hope that I hear from you within five days before it is aired on the news. I stopped before hitting man's car at the rear. He said no problem but his friend said what about the dent from the front. Oh, yes you did that. Then he started threatening me. He wanted my info and I knew if I didn't and left he would say I hit him and ran. I told your claim people that I did not hit him and their was no damage to my car and it showed when you took the picture. His insurance company called and wanted a statement, you denied claim. I thought it was closed. I get a letter from state for 2 accidents in 3 yrs. I thought it was because of an old accident after my husband passed. However, it seemed much longer and could not find paperwork. Now I am in A Fib again and upset. I passed. THEN I get a letter from you stating that it was because of an accident I didn't have and you paid property damage on his old dent and no one even contacted me you put it against my drivers license!! I guess an old lady in her 80's must kicked in that long dent or maybe used my head. But you know WHAT you have also upped my premium over $1,00.00 a yr! I get $1,600.00 a month and have a mortgage. I can not believe he got away with it. When I have an accident I own up to it and when I didn't a bully got old damage paid. If I had known what had been going on I would have gotten a lawyer now I pay the price. The Customer service and Claims people have been no help and say their is nothing can do but go another insurance DA!







I would like to tell you about the horrific experience with my homeowner's claim and how I sat for 3 months with mouldy carpet in my living before your approving the claim and that is when my A Fib started. I had to threaten to get the contractor paid. I told then if I died of a heart attack my kids would sue, I got the check. Oh I am getting used to my new pace maker, thank you. I always felt safe insured by you but feel like you threw me under the bus! I know I won't get any help from you but I cried a lot and feel a little bit better for having my say.

In October of 2015 I was told that I could no longer drive, so I sold my car. I contact the Hartford customer service number and canceled my car insurance, Policy #55 PHD632770. Your representative assured me that the insurance would be canceled as of the end of October. At no time did they ask for written termination. I sold my car in Oct

I continued to receive bills and called your customer service department three more times. Each time I was assured that my insurance was canceled. To date I have never received a cancelation notice. In fact, I just received a past due notice for my policy.

Is it your habit to prey on seniors? I want my policy canceled as of October, when I first contacted you. I will not pay any amount past that date, as you were informed several times that my insurance was canceled, and that I no longer had a car.

Please be aware that I have done the following:
a) Contacted the BBB regarding your company
b) Contacted the head of your sales and marketing regarding your poor customer service
c) Contacted the AARP regarding your predatory practices
d) Contacted the Attorney Generals of Utah, Washington, and your headquarters state of Connecticut regarding your predatory practices

I have notes from the initial and second times I called your customer service line. I will expect any supposed past due amount to be credited to me, and will expect a notice of termination in the mail within 10 business days. I regard your business practices as extremely shady, and your customer service, so-called, as unhelpful and lacking in basic training.

In trying to get auto insurance for my car in Hawaii I was told that to get insurance from Hartford I must presently have car insurance. I was told to call State Farm or Allstate or whatever and take out a months coverage with them and then come to Hartford. What kind of idiotic nonsense is this?

In November, 2014 a Hartford insured significantly damaged my parked car. Hartford paid for the repairs totaling $12,600, but there was frame damage. They won't recognize that damage and the car is worth less due to this. The car was worth $24,000 before the accident and now is only worth $15,000 as a trade in. They are not acknowledging my claim for Diminished value even though I have proof of my loss. They don't deal fairly with you and you never communicate with the same person. They are in violation of the Insurance Code, Sections as far as fair and honest practices. I can't even get their Chief Risk Manger to communicate with me. Don't do business with a company that has such bad business practices and can't manage their people to do their jobs.

the business is a complete trainwreck. They lose everything, they cannot find their own files, they cannot access their own computer system, and you cannot talk to anyone on the phone as you only listen to music for hours. No matter how many times you send documents, they claim not to receive them. Then they deny your claim based on having not received documents.

I would like to begin by saying I'm sooo disappointed that my claim for damage to my house was denied!!! I'm a 66 year old retiree on a fixed income and thought that since Harford Insurance was thru AARP that the service and commitment would have been better. I have structural damage happening as we speak to my home. There are gaps in the ceilings and cracks in the ceilings also. Had a company come out and inspect and found that the support beams and leader boards under the house have shifted causing the gaps and cracks in the cabinet area and the ceilings throughout the house. Hartford sent out their own inspector and determined by the inspector that these damages have been caused by cold/hot weather which is a lot of "bull". They also determined the other cause was the settling of the house. My house is over 15 years old!!! Why would there be settling at this point?? I can't understand why my claim was denied on these factors because the company I had to inspect the first time indicated that the beams and ledger boards have shifted under the house from not being properly secured when the house was built. Also, where am I supposed to get the monies to have this repair when I'm retired and on a FIXED income!!!! I want someone to look at this and let me know why I pay premiums for insurance and when I need it they don't want to pay for the damages???????? I feel like I'm being ripped off by Hartford.
