I recently purchased a policy with you and I wish I had known how poor your customer service was before I bought it.
There is no where on your website for contacting customer service. I have been on perpetual hold for over half an hour
Several days now. Nobody answers the phones! I would like to set up a debit payment but I refuse to sit on hold forever.
Would you please have someone contact me to set this up?

Terrible company. The on-hold wait time is insanely long. Plus, I've had to call multiple times to get an old plan stopped and a new plan started. Total chaos there. The billing department is probably the worst of all, although I'm guessing that part of the problem is an inadequate automated system. Two thumbs down. Find yourself another provider. It is just not worth working with BCBS (now Florida Blue). I will be switching...definitely.

Customer Service? What friggin customer service?!? I have been a member my whole life through parents, and now the past few years on my own plan. I am NEVER able to get into contact with an actual person in less than 30-45 minutes time and I almost always end the conversation in tears. Florida Blue does not care about its customers and I am ready to start shopping for something different (is there any insurance company that actually cares about customer service? because this company doesn't.)

For several months I have not been able to pay online. I have to call in, which takes a minimum of 10 minutes. I was told months ago this was a temporary problem they were working to resolve. Seems like its taking a long time. Also, there is no easy way to lodge a complaint with customer service. They should make it easier. Other than these issues, I'm happy with my policy.

The New Direction Behavioral Health Florida Blue outsources their mental health to is not only unprofessional but unethical. My son that is under my plan was being treated in patient for a suicide attempt signed a release for me to deal with them and they wouldn't ignored it. Found out as well they actually have a ratchet going with the behavioral hospital my son is in. The facility kept him there by adding several unnecessary medications and increasing doses every time there was a weekly review on his case with New Directions. New Directions was rude hung up several times without listening kept cutting me off when I spoke. Even their fool supervisor was doing that. The facility asked for no medical records for my son stating they didn't care about anything before he came into facility. When I complained it appears New Direction acted as their henchman.

So im new to Florida from Ohio but knew the Blue Cross Blue Shield name so signed up. To my surprise apparently Blue Cross does not take payment over the phone via Debt card. They will if I give them my checking account info. Or I can go to a CVS and pay..lol. Is Blue Cross in this century even, it is not the year 2000. I haven't used checks in years and I won't be going every month to CVS to pay a bill. OMG accept debt payments over the phone. Charge the $2 extra but join 2015. I Had no plans to change providers but now I certainly do. Wake up stop living in the past and join the rest of the world. You are to big of a company to not accept all forms of payment. Plus attempts to speak to a operator is crazy as your system won't reconcile 0 or live person or operator. It just kicks you out and hangs up. What horrible service and abilities.

Florida blue users beware. If you do not set up your account correctly in the beginning they will cancel you. I set up my minor childs account by phone. Was great service and processed my payment right then. Subsequently they cancelled my minor sons insurance without notifying me. You see a minor childs account cannot be reviewed by you online. All e-statements were just email notifications to check you statement online. Here is the catch 22, because the statement holder is a minor it cannot be viewed online. Furthermore because the payments were supposed to be set up for autobilling to my bank I did not suspect florida blue did not do this as the first payment went through. So 45 days after cancelling my sons insurance I received a letter via post mail notifying me that my sons' insurance was canelled and his doctor visits during the preceeding 45 days would not be paid by them. BUYERS BEWARE. The agents and supervisors pretend to be powerless but listen to you complain stating a mysterious headoffice makes all decisions who cannot be reached by the consumer by phone or email. I mean even the FBI & CIA can be reached by phone. Ridiculous client service or lack thereof. I'll be cancelling my wife's insurance and mine as well and moving to a more understanding insurance broker as no-one there will even call back. Thats right, they promise to call you back within 72 hours but dont. Then they tell you they will call you within 5 days, but don't. Very unethical in my opinion.

I Have Been Working On #1 Patient All Week, And I Have Gotten Absolutely Nowhere. This Is The Absolute Worse Customer Service Setup I Have Ever Come Across!

they denied a wheelchair for a woman who has been in one for 40 some years. We appealed. They said they would respond in 30 days. They didn't. Called appeal department and they said they would call back within a couple of days. They didn't. Called appeals department and left multiple messages with no response. Phone answering system is junk.

Not someone who would normally post but this company is the worst! Still receiving bills one year later. They take forever to pay claims and I continue to receive bills from the hospital and doctors offices threatening to send me to the credit bureau. Most of the staff I had to deal with,(Frank Jaramillo) in miami/kendall,has no idea what he's doing;Just trying to sell policies. This is the reason why I changed companies.

Don't understand how a great company such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida can have Octavious Hawkins working as an agent. He is the worst agent I ever talk to in my life. I really hope that you will never provide him with any further opportunities with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I believed you as a health care provider would have people with more considerate and passionate abilities, skill and knowledge. I will definitely share this experience with my family and friends for them to avoid this type of individual.

BSBS provided the worst customer service. The representatives are flip, they talk back to the customer, they try to talk over the customer and they do not readily have access to the information that they are stating as policy. They are unable to problem solve a situation and are rude.

I keep having to file complaints to the state agency to get blue cross to pay my doctors. There excuse is "computer glitch" They tell my to file claims for all my out of pocket costs. They sent me a letter denying the claims says I don't have coverage.

My premiums jumped 25% as of Jan 1, 2015. No reason or explanation for the increase. I have a catastrophic illness plan and pay $1250.00/month. My doctor prescribed Forteo to treat severe osteoporosis in my spine and right hip. A bone scan in January (not covered because I did not know I had to use THEIR imaging center) confirmed my condition. Florida Blue denied coverage of the needed medication twice and now I must pay out of pocket $2000.00/ month for a 2 year course of treatment that will cure my condition and rebuild my bones. My husband and I are both retired and I am not medicare eligible yet. It is not very secure to know that my health insurance company would rather bankrupt us and allow my bones to fracture because the medication they will cover is cheap and will NOT rebuild my bones nor reverse the continued bone loss, but rather slow the process of my bones degrading. How does this make sense? The almighty dollar is all they care about. I have sent a letter to the CEO of BCBS along with a copy of an extensive clinical trial comparing Forteo to Fosamax. The positive results from Forteo are striking. Why would Florida Blue want to risk my health and quality of life because of $$$$$??? As soon as I can I am going to drop Florida Blue like a bad habit. At the time of my enrollment in Dec 2013 I was told that there were no other health plans offered in the State of Florida. Amusing that Erectile Dysfunction medications are covered. I have never heard of a broken bone from NOT using ED drugs!!
I welcome any other postmenapausal women to share their horror stories, as well. I WILL find a "female friendly" health insurance plan!! I don't know how this company can get away with such fraudulent practices!!!!!

Florida Blue for providers is horrible. More times than not, when you call them you get a recording that due to overload of calls please call back later and hangs up. When you try to use their portal via Availity for anything other than eligibility you get errors or you get a TID # but when you call with the TID # for "fast pass priority" it never recognized the #! They are the pits.

Suffering with Hep.C, I was informed by Fl. Blue that I was " Not sick enough" to receive help. This is a fatal disease. I believe that FL. Blue is contributing to the deaths of many. They should not be permitted to do business in FL., or anywhere else. I'm always happy to discuss my horrible experience on social media, or anywhere else.Everybody sing-- If your Doc says you need help, you just better go to Yelp. We're NOT here for you.

I paided my premium up every month,i received a letter in april 10-2015 telling me my insurance has been cancel as of jan.2015,who waits 5 months to tell somebody their insurances is cancel, when they have the moneyorder receipts for each month they were paided.this is a bunch of crap.only I know when they stand their is no foregiveness, said a thief will never enter into his kingdom and I know he is true to his word.

Posted by madinflorida

My April 2015 shows a credit balance, then without any explanation I owe them 932.00 dollars..granted I always pay a few premium at a time. This company keeps posting the wrong amount other people's payments to my account but conveniently much less than what I am sending in. They did this last year and I had to send copy of cancelled check of which they took forever to post. I had to contact the insurance commissioner for them to post my payment. I cannot believe I renewed with these company. The worst company to deal with ever.

I have tried to get my membership number from Florida Blue for about a month now they will me a supervisor is going to call me with that information within two days and a representative and not the person that I was told will call leaves a message and said I needed to call them. I got a manager Ashley Defreintas ext. 1105329 she said she was going to make this her top priority and was going to call me the next morning and asked me if I was a morning person. She did not call me the 17th of Feb as promised so I call her on the 18th and left a message for her to call me immediately and she has not called me back as of yet.

WOW!! I needed help from someone in filling out a form to add my three dependents to my dental plan. Since BCBS did away with my pediatric dental coverage this year. When I called the number at the bottom of the form, I was told they could not help me and gave me another number. I called the new number and got hung up on and after I called back was told they couldn't help me. When I finally was transfered to an agent named Valerie (from the original number), she acted as if I was a bother to her and an idiot. After dealing with her unprofessional attitude for a while, I finally got very upset and asked for her boss. He was not in ofcourse, but I will not stop until I speak with someone. It is so rude to treat a member this way and I still have not gotten help with the form!!!
BCBS needs some serious training and help in customer service. This will make people find another insurance company!!

I was a provider business owner, working with BCBSF. What can I say, I have been supporting my business from my pocket for months, paying salary, rent, equipment, lab, medicines, etc. After 3 or 4 months waiting for services payments I found that all my payments were canceled, my bank is calling me and accusing me of fraud, I could have problems with this bank, they can cancel and close my business account, take me to the court (I am talking about large amount checks) I have been calling costumer service for days, they send me from one extension to another one, no one can give me a reason of why my claims were denied, the payments were denied, only that someone is going to call me in 24 or 48 hours. Who is the theft here? The people using the insurance, the providers helping the people or the BIG COMPANIES everyone all the time!!!

The Worst Healthcare Provider Ever.

Was On Hold For Over On Hour Multiple Times.

Florida Blue SUCKS And Their Lazy Non Educated Employees.

I've just wasted so much time calling Florida Blue and all they have done nothing except for transferring me back and forth between two departments. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY POOR CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE SKILLS AND THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HOW POOR THEY COMPANY DEALS WITH PROBLEMS!

Posted by Sam754

Florida Blue has completely messed up their billing for January of 2015. I called in because they were dunning me -- without ever having sent me an invoice.

The customer service person admitted that many people have called to complain about this identical problem.

For the last 3 weeks of December it was virtually impossible to get through their toll free lines.

Inexcusable.
