I sympathise with all of you as I am going through a rough time with them also.I was laid off for a year and I just can't get caught up with all my bills even though I got lucky enough to go back to work but it doesn't do any good to complain other than it helps to vent. The polititians in Il will never do anything to help the common person.Wages stay the same(no one has had a raise in 3 years at my workplace)but the price of EVERYTHING goes up).I'm on a payment plan with comed and I had to pay it by the end of day but when you pay it theydont post it to your acct.till the next work day.Now I'm sure I'll get a bill saying I have to pay my entire past due acct. I'd switch in a heart beat if it wasn't a monopoly. dude 8/28/10 5:51AM

Thomas Edison would be turning over in his grave if he knew what these monopoly hungry people were doing. Overcharged me by a lot of money and if you don't have options by the way because they don't give you any. Bunch of suckers! comedsucks 8/27/10 4:00PM

ComEd overcharge me on purpose by 50%.
When I called them, I was told that was an estimate not an actual reading. What kind of program are they using to overestimate 50% of their customer's usage? This is a typical example of a bad company.

I am very unsatisfied with the online support to make a payment online. Every site I go to it sends me to another. So even if I wanted to register online I would never be able to find it. Shana 8/17/10 11:46AM

I recently purchased my 1st home on 7-21-10 and applied on-line for the power to get turned on. The app was denied because of the previous owner had not paid his bills. A long story short, after several phone calls and faxing some of the closing documents to ComEd I still don't have power at my new house!! Rayno 8/16/10 11:36AM

ComEd is the worst corporation ever. This summer starting in June of 2010 up to August 11, 2010 my power has gone out about 6-9 times. Only one time did the power come back on within an hour. The other times I have been without power from 10 hours to 3 days. These power outages have even happened when there was only a bit of rain, but no thunder/rain storm. There have only been 2 REALLY bad storms, both times my power has been off for 2-3 days, and my basement flooded on one of those days because we were at a bit less than half-power which the sump pump didn't differentiate from full-power. Not that it helped that we were at less than half-power--nothing works on it and the lights are only on very, very dimly. All of the times I called ComEd to see when the power would come on, I've had customer service reps give me attitude. The last very bad storm we had, I asked the rep why it was that OUR house always lost power if there was a slight drizzle, and she said that "it's electricity, it goes out." Really?! I pay hundreds of dollars a month for my power to go out every 2 weeks for hours and hours?? I could use a little more compassion from the reps, and a lot less attitude. dl201050 8/10/10 11:57PM

I am unable to reach ComEd Customer Care.
When I dial 1-800-EDISON-1, it first says that customer care representative will be available in next 4 minutes but after waiting continuously for more than 10 min, none of the representatives are available and there is a long waiting call. I have been trying to reach ComEd since 2 days for transfer of service but I am unable to get through.ComEd_Not Reachable on Ph 8/4/10 1:17PM

I just had a horrific experience from ComEd. This past weekend I had my power turned off completely for 48 hours. My husband and I lost our jobs last year. We are barely making ends meet. My husband missed 3 payments with Comed. They turned off our power without notice at all on the hottest day of the week. My husband tried to call and explain that he is working on making the payments and we have a small child living with us. They refused to help and told us unless we can come up with cash to pay by 6 pm on the same day our power will not be turned on. For 12 years we have been making payment on time and never caused any problems. This is the first for us and they could not accomodate us with anything but rudeness. I had to leave to stay at my mothers for a few days. My husband had to borrow money to pay by 6 pm and he did. They still did not turn our power on. We had to wait 48 hours. Heartless bastards. I wish these companies would not monopolize so we can choose who we want to get our power from. I will post these messages so the public can see what we are dealing with. NatalieG 7/12/10 12:46PM

I just had the dipeasure of conversating with Donna (one of the apathetic consultants of ComEd)she basically told me that the reason for me receiving 2 statements is one month was that the company sends a bill every 24 to 39 days without any rhyme or reason....and I as a customer am suppose to calculate my daily usage and prepare myself for the amount when ever they grace me with a bill.
I would not put up with this crap if I had any other company to go with in the area. I put in energy efficient appliances and windows before I moved in but still got stuck with bill for almost $400 which i was late in paying (it does take a toll on a budget to receive a bill of such an amount at least for me) they told me that they will not waive a late fee because my .22 cent bill was late the previous month and that was the late fee that was automatically waived for me. Mind you the late fee is a precentage of the amount due....how convenient. the company sucks and I can not say anything positive about it.Against Monopoly 3/15/10 2:14PM

ComEd hires the worst customer service representatives that clearly are not trained properly. I had to call everyday for 2 weeks to even get close to resolving my issue which their representative admitted was ComEd's fault. Not to mention, that I was told a supervisor would call me and no one EVER did. I wish there were other electricity companies out there because if I had a choice I would not be a customer to these a-holes. Also I think they are overcharging me for electricity. I haven't even lived in my new home for a month but they were quick to send me a bill for over $300. There are only 2 people in my house and I have all brand new windows and energy-star appliances. There is something fishy going on. POcomedCustomer 2/16/10 1:58PM
