I tried to return an item that was purchased with a gift card to the Costco in Spokane Washington and I did not have the receipt but I did have the gift card and the member info for the person that gave me the card and that wasn't enough. they were very rude about the whole thing and I asked the manager what could I do,and he said all I could do is bring in the receipt that I no longer have. I'm sure a bunch of Costco lovers are going to jump up and start yelling at me for having no receipt but it's lost along with my other receipts and two check books that were stolen when my car was broken into and my suitcase taken. I looked everywhere in the car just in case it had happened to fall out but it was in that suitcase I am sure of it. And I don't even know what to do with a freaking kayak that's still unopened and unused and is kept within n the original, taped shut box. I can't use it now for other reasons to personal and lengthy to get into, but let's hear it Costco members: ...It's all my fault for buying it AND using a gift card to do so.. I take all the blame for this cuz it's obviously completely my fault and Costco is the perfect business with a perfectly generous policy of taking broken sh*t back five years later but not willing to even offer store credit for an unopened and unused item purchased in their warehouse. And I'm the stupid piece of sh*t with a brand new kayak that I can't even sell on Facebook since I've discovered having bought it at Costco has caused people to now think something weird and fraudulent must be going or I would just return it right? Obviously I must have UNBOXED it, purposely damaged it without inflating it, re-sealed it inside the original plastic wrap and then retaped the box so I could scam Costco or the facebook people out of 125 bucks And gee, Thanks Costco for being such a bang up business with your fantastic return policy that has people looking at me like a fraudulent scumbag, receipt losing assho*e. I deserve every bit of this for stupidly using my gift card at the store who issued it

I attempted to place an order for an item during a sale event at Costco.com. When I tried to complete the order the system told me the item was not available. Once the sale was over, the item reappeared on Costco.com. I called customer support and after explaining the situation was told that they would offer me half of the difference from the sale price to the current price. I reluctantly agreed as something was better than nothing. The day after the item was supposed to be delivered, Costco Logistics called me and told me that they had not received the item. I was told that it would arrive the following week. When I didn't hear from them again regarding scheduling, I reached out to customer support only to find out that they still did not have the item purchased. It took over an hour on the phone to get the slim bit of information they had to offer. Another week went by with nothing from the good folks at Costco.com. I again called and received more excuses. Long story long, I have been on the phone for over 10 hrs regarding this transaction. They finally told me that the item is lost or has never been shipped from their vendor. When I asked what Costco.com was willing to do for me on a similar purchase they wouldn't even honor the previous adjusted pricing I was given. I realize that there are things in this transaction that are beyond Coscto.com's control, but to go back on their agreement and the absence of good customer service is not acceptable.

Costco customer service is awful, horrible, terrible, horrendous, what a horrific experience

Costco has customer service figured out! They made me wait on hold for 17 minutes and then hung up on me. I love our warehouse and its personnel. But, the telephone and online customer service is terrible.

We joined Costco yesterday to use their vision service. We were treated horribly by the customer service rep at the membership desk. Lisa was rude and never showed any appreciation for our patronage. This will be a very short relationship if this is how Costco employees treat members.

I've been a loyal Costco customer for years and enjoy shopping in the stores.
Your internet wholesale service is another issue. I seldom shop online with you because
working with your system is a pain in the ass. If you want to be force on the internet then you need to be convenient and user friendly. I don't love Amazon but I use them because they are so easy to use. I you had a decent system I wouldn't be forced to call and to make matter worse I have a 15 to 20 min hold time. When I finally get an operator I struggle to get through their accent.
Needless to say I won't be shopping on line with you in the future.
I just wonder do you guys care?

I had a question and went to chat live for the answer, which I eventually got. BUT, in order to open Chat I was asked everything that was already available from my order number and my member number, both of which I was required to supply. Then I was 99 in line, 15 plus minutes. When my turn finally came the CS person answered in acceptable time. During this exhausting procedure I kept thinking of why Amazon is so successful. I could have talked to a live person on the phone in a fraction of the time this Chat business took. And I'm pretty sure Amazon's email communications resulting from my return request would have negated my question in the first place. From frustrations with Costco's in-store "now we have it, now we don't" experiences and this and other cumbersome on-line experiences that Costco puts little value on customer experience.

For simple returns in store or online, its easy and works. But when things become a bit complicated, Costco returns fails miserably. In My case, I ordered a TV (for 1000$) but was delivered a wrong TV (500$). I reported this after accepting the delivery (my mistake) on the same day. Then Decided to keep that 500$ TV, so was charged for it. But never received the refund for 1000$ TV that I bought, never received and hence can not return. But Cust support said (today) that I need to return it. Previous Cust support I talked to said I will receive it 3-7 days ..but never did.

Never ceases to amaze me. Every time costco is criticized there are these trolls that come out of the woodwork saying how marvelous and wonderful they are. Must be trolls because I can't think of any other store besides costco that has so many customers to defend them. I've been a member off and on since the 80s and generally the customer service runs hot and cold just like any place but when it's bad, it's exceptionally bad. A bought a wok in store. When I got home, it had so many bad reviews I decided to return it. Then I did some research on non-stick and realized that most people were using it wrong so I wrote a lengthy review defending the product and then because the online price was the same in the store, I bought another one. Ok, well, UPS shows up at 8:30pm and then just props the box against my fence instead of opening the gate and walking the last 20 ft. I was mad as h about it so I complained online, which is frustrating as h trying to get thru their 'chat' but that's slightly better than waiting 20 mins on the phone. Then I get this agent who says basically, nothing we can do about, complain to UPS. Well, I didn't hire UPS so they couldn't care less. btw, if I order on amazon, and it's shipped by UPS, they don't pull this s. So I decide to return it, so I start a return online and when asked why I'm returning, I select "refuse delivery". The site says I'll get an email with instructions but two days later, nothing so I go on chat again and the guy says "you can't return it because it because you selected refused delivery". Huh? No, I wasn't there when it was delivered and unaware it was delivered till the next day so no I'm saying tell UPS to come pick it up. The logic here is extremely bizarre. If you select 'refuse delivery' and UPS takes the package, you wouldn't have a package to return right, so why would you start a return on something you had. But, if you got the package anyway from UPS because you had no choice over the delivery and then you selected 'refuse delivery', they won't take the package back and if you check online the item you ordered will stay in limbo, i.e. return started, forever. Unlike amazon, you can't cancel and start a new return. So anyway, the agent says I'll fix your return and then after several mins he just disconnected the chat and I was back at the beginning. It's interesting too that if you look to find out if shipping and handling is refunded, costco doesn't say it is. Rather they say "*limitations apply. check at the warehouse or costco.com" Well, guess what, there's no explanation of this on costco.com and nobody at the warehouse can answer questions about costco.com.

I went to my local Costco to buy a throw on sale for $10. There were only empty boxes. I Approached an employee for help and he directed me to another employee wearing a red shirt with a radio so she could call the loading department.
When I got to her she informed that she would be right with me after she was finished with the current customer she was dealing with. I waited patiently just looking at other products.
The next time I saw her she was attending to another customer with printer paper. I just continued to wait.
She then was going to another older couple to help then with Apple products. This time I approached her to inform her that I have been patiently waiting for my turn.
While still walking with her back turned to me she yelled at me that she has to attend to people when they need help.
I asked her what she meant by that. Am I not considered a person. I told her to continue helping people and I went to check out.
I am a Nurse Practitioner and work in the Emergency Room with Dignity Health in Downtown Sacramento.
All I wanted was to get a throw to use while at work due to the high number of Covid patients and since we are in the flu season we have been working around the clock. This was my first day off in almost a month. I was dressed casual, I am Black in my early 30's and a foreigner.
So she chose to disregard my request for help and be so rude an unprofessional for no reason. I have been an Executive Costco Member for more than 10yrs.
When I spoke to one of the managers he was not surprised but said that he would speak with her.
I took a video of the whole incident and I am seriously considering posting it on Social Media platforms because that's the only way to get a clear massage to corporate.
I would really prefer that the whole store get Customer Service retraining.

I've been a Costco member for years. I am not happy with this new mandate or rule or whatever it is that you're doing about forcing people to wear a face covering or a shield in the Costco stores.therefore, I will not be going to Costco again until this issue is resolved and you are no longer forcing people to do this because it is not legal it is wrong.

Hi, please help with this. My family often shop at Mountain View Costco. We found that 15 or 20 minutes away, Sunnyvale Costco or Redwood City Costco, overall their prices are cheaper. For example: Over there $4.99 for 12-count croissant and $5.99 at Mountain view Costco, For 40-oz biscotti, It's $9.99 at Sunnyvale or Redwood city Costco, but $10.99 at Mountain view. This situation is a regular instance. We found it troubling. Could you inform Mountain View Costco to adjust their prices please? Thank you!

Order item but never received. Called customer service three times and no results. Each time had to wait for over a hour or longer. Really bad service now. Might be the pandemic days?

Costco customer service' (check out clerks) are one of the rudest in membership type retail. They never smile and make up the rules as they go along. It's a piece of shxx service. The store in Clearwater FL # 336 is mot friendly at all. Pinellas county one of the most populous county in FL has 3 Sams club and 1 Costco. This should give you an idea that they will never be able to compete with Sams club and Sams Club's customer service.

Just participated in a Costco Survey. I normally do not do these surveys, but because it was Costco, I did indeed finish the survey and was told I would receive a health band for taking the survey. I then got an alert from my credit card company asking me if I was aware a company was to begin taking a certain amount of money monthly from my credit card account. Had they not alerted me; I would have not known!!! I went back to the email from Costco and found the name Garcinia. I tried to contact them to find out what was going on. I called five different numbers, supposedly number for this company. I ended up calling the UK, India etc. talking to people who had no idea what I was talking about. None of them were Garcinia, they were all sellers for pills! I stopped trying to find the "real" number for Garcinia and hung up and called back my credit card company. All this for taking a survey for you. Now I have to tear up my credit card and on top of that I have wasted over an 2 hours of my time just trying to straiten this mess out. Forget about the gift; as I said I had to tear up my credit card and cannot make the cost of shipping and handling for my "gift". It will be a very long time before I visit your stores and I will make certain my family and friends know what I just had to go thru to take your survey.

Very upset. Before I tried returning my sectional I asked in person at the Costco store if it was possible to return it since I had recently moved and no longer fit and besides it was not too comfortable. I rented a van spend $80, drove to Costco after about an hour of wait and after speaking to 4 different people the assistant store Mananger John decided not to take my return because the employee that had told me that I could return it was not there at that time. Anyways I'am so upset I might just cancel my membership because he didn't believe me 2 employees had told me the same thing before I tried to return it. Time wasted.

I'm at the Costco in south San Francisco (Colman) with a price check item I bought 2 weeks ago. They had a sale on it recently and wanted to see if there was a price match for it. Supervisor said I needed the original receipt so they can stamp it even though it is listed in my account that it was purchased.

They also said every Costco has a different policy on returns/exchanges/price matches.

Is this true?

Does anyone know if Costco provides a warranty for services provided by their chosen third parties? I purchased a refrigerator from Costco, with delivery & installation services included. The fridge was installed improperly and leaked for 3 weeks. There is mold and water damage to kitchen, entryway, living and dining rooms. Turns out the installer was not licensed. He also gained entrance to my home posing as a contractor who could assess damage and move the resolution forward. He used this opportunity to take photos surreptitiously, then asserted them as proof of prior damage. It's been almost 16 months of fighting with them.

It would be helpful to know if they provide warranty on services.

I just visited your warehouse on walker rd in Windsor it will take me a long time or possibly never walk in your store again. The photo centre person was kinda rude so it brought the rudeness out on me. My pictures were not done well she commented that everything is automatic know and basically my fault fee not choosing the correct size so it would print correctly I asked doesn't someone check as being printed. Her quick response was we do have enough staff for that. Then she promptly put her hand up and told me to look around not a good thing I would think. The suggestion was to reorder in a different size I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that so until I was done looking at the other pictures I then said yes I would order another size. So she said I can do it from home or the kiosks in the area. What has happened to customer service she could have done it right there or helped me do it. She wanted no part of it. You know if you choose to talk with her good but if not your choice however I will be not shopping there until I feel that it's my only choice. I have had a membership for a long time. And a gain big company don't seem to think that there are other options to shop. There are lots so I will doing my homework as looking for more options. I have worked in retail my whole life and yes we all get bad days customers shouldn't feel like they are a bother.

Bought a Levono Legion 7000 gaming laptop my grandson this past Christmas.
It has a one year warranty and Costco gives a 2nd year warranty.
Today the screen is shattered inside. I called CostcoTech Support who said that the warranty that comes
With the laptop does not cover this kind of issue. I needed to purchase a separate Square Trade warranty for
This issue. I cannot believe this - so I am out of $1100 on a 7 month old computer. I am putting this out there so
The next person buying any computer or laptop knows this. Will never buy an electronic product from Costco again.

Bought a cooked chicken fresh from the oven on Monday the 24th of June 2019. It was not good in that it did not taste good and the legs were slimy and really tasted bad. This chicken was almost as bad as the one I bought a couple of months ago that I could not even eat. I use to love Costco roasted chickens.
I felt ill from the little I ate of the one yesterday. I had given a couple bites to my dog and she got diarrhea overnight. Not pretty.
No more roasted Costco Chickens for me! Both Chickens were purchased from the Costco on N. Blackstone in Fresno, CA.
