Horrible customer service, called to disconnect and supposedly succeeded after being placed on hold for 20+ minutes. Cricket continued to bill me and when I called was told my line was still active and that I never called. Spoke to John ID#666917 who told me I called to transfer service to another phone. He would not entertain possibility that the rep miscoded my transaction. This was a phone I bought for my au pair who was here for a year and I had no need of it after she left. He finally agreed to listen to my call with the rep and get back to me within 24 hours. 72 hours later I called again and spoke to Louis ID#661962 who was apologetic and promised to resolve by the next business day at noon. Naturally no call back from Louis. Service is cheap but the customer service is beyond abominable. "John" was condescending and unhelpful. Crickets customer service does suck , when i added broadband to my account, their worker cancelled my insurance on one of my phones, i was still charged for it, but then my phone goes up (that i bought new from them) and they tell me i cancelled it, and i can not reinstate it.. whatever i didnt cancel it i show them all my receipts and its a mess , NO one helps you , they swap you from service agent to service agent.. each one tells you a different story... what a joke of a company. My phone was stolen and I am trying to get a new phone. I went to the store and they didn't have a "COMPARABLE" phone. Then they tell me after I have been paying insurance for the last 3 years without ever filing a claim, that I'm going to get a refurbished phone!!!! WHAT? Okay, so the saleslady is trying to send me to another Cricket store. Both stores dind't have a phone to give me. One store told her they didn't have a BACK TO THE PHONE? WTH? Today, I've spoken with at least four reps, one from thesignal.com and she was very unpleasant and told me that the phone I needed was on back order and wait a WEEK TO CALL BACK AND SEE IF I CAN ORDER ONE? Then I call Cricket again and this time some man that can't speak English transfers me to another dept ONLY for THAT man to tell me I have the wrong DEPARMTMET! That's it. I have a headache and I am going to Sprint. My son has been begging me to go the ANYWAY. Disgusted and so upset. 8/26/10 1:27PM

We have reached the breaking point with this asinine company! They certainly have built up walls that make it DIFFICULT to speak to a real person rep'. Thanks for this 'contact help' info'! I was strong armed into paying them $13.45 that we DON'T OWE just to have my wife's service turned back on TODAY. The $13.45 was an extra charge for international calling that we COULDN'T USE and had had CANCELED.(we had been misled about that service)
Cricket verified that we dont owe the money BUT "unfortunately we cannot turn the service on until you pay the debt- we will credit you in the next billing cycle" I paid under protest. I KNOW a comapny like Verizon would NOT have marginalized us or treat us this way.

Customer service??? They don't have customer service at Cricket. If you do finally get to speak with someone, they are very hard to understand. I ordered my daughter a phone on the internet - then found out that we are actually in an area considered "ROAMING" though that is not what they advertise. I did cancel our order that same day about 15 minutes later and - you've got it - they shipped the phone anyway - charged my account $104.99 - then two weeks later after several phone calls - my refund was $59.99 - called again to find out where my $45.00 is - now someone will supposedly call me back and they have "esclated" my call. I would suggest to EVERYONE who is thinking about getting a Cricket phone to choose a different company because if you have any problem - CRICKET will not give you "CUSTOMER SERVICE"!!!!!! gypsy 8/26/10 6:50AM

Absolutely the worst customer service in the world!! Paid 45$ for a couple of hours of roaming mins for my son who went away to college. The roaming never worked rendering the phone useless. Tried to get a refund, I was first told that they couldn't refund me my money, when I pressed the rep told me that it had been done already and I should call my bank and ask them why they won't give me the money they refunded. I didn't believe that for a second so I asked to speak to a supervisor. After several minutes the "supervisor" came on and told me a completely different story. Basically he told me to call the Cricket store where I paid the money and they would refund it, called them and they said they didn't know what I was talking about.
You will never get your money back from Cricket, they will tell you anything to get you off the phone. There is no accountability with this company whatsoever.Cricket Stinks 8/23/10 2:03PM

I wonder if Criket is going to get a clue? The CEO's are sitting on our money and ignoring their ratings. Why not? Hey, their getting rich while we're going broke for screwed up service. Criket phone service is so bad that when I'm sitting in the upstairs bedroom talking and I begin to go down the steps to the kitchen...I loose service. Criket phone service is so bad even the computer generated system talks back. I asked for "a representative" and it told me "LATER!" Criket service is so bad the managers and agents are forced to lie. I asked the manager for the name and contact number of the CEO and she said, "I can't give you that information!" so she gives me two “corporate” numbers- one which is disconnected and the other gives you 3 choices none of which connects me to a human!!! That's funny, somebody put it on the internet so somebody is allowed to give it to me not only the number to the CEO’s office but the address too!!! LOL. I got the number and it rang exactly 15 times then an answering service picked up. She cut me off when I told her I had a complaint. I should have told the manager I was sending the CEO a gift for their "amber" alert texts LOL. Listen folks...watch out for large companies that appear as if they are doing some good i.e. amber alerts, clean-ups, donations...it's really a mask to keep people off their backs while they steal our money. I overpaid on my account and they told me that, "You have to send us copies of your credit card bill if you want a overpayment refund." I LMBO cause, if I overpay on something I expect an automatic refund if you don't IT"S FRAUD!! HELLO PEOPLE!! I teach young folks and I always tell my non-English speakers and English speakers why it is so very important to know at least two languages really well in today's world. The U.S. is a beautiful melting pot and we all need to be able to communicate which is a very important process towards understanding one another to get along. You cannot help people if you do not understand them. The agents that helped me (no offense to anyone really!) were from it sounded like the Middle East or so, well they did not understand me at all. The communication gap was clearly unproductive. A business needs to be able to communicate! I don't know how many successful businesses try to make the customer do the accounting and… I'm not doing it. If you have the ability to see if I paid and if you have the ability to cut my phone off then YOU certainly have the ability to refund or credit a customer’s money if they have it coming to them...I am not going to do YOUR accounting--hear me now! You don't help me write lesson plans or grade papers all night do you? No! You would think a young company would respond to its problems and the unhappy customers. Folks, they won't! They have made their millions, bought their private planes, been to Paris and back and look at us- only enough money to travel to the next city in a broken down car that will only fly when we drive it off a bridge. Wake up Criket- do your jobs responsibly and care about the people who put you were you are today!!! May I suggest "investing" you know so maybe you can stay rich when your company goes under! I'm going to be a nice citizen and start warning anyone I see with a criket or going into a criket store “DON’T DO IT! You get what you pay for!!!”

You are a phone company- people rely on you. I can't afford to buy anyone one of those "help me I've fallen and I can't get up" things so we have to use cell phones--that connect to people wherever they are!

I cannot get through to a customer service agent. My credit card doesn't work on their website and they kept charging me $1 every time I tried to use it. My husband went to the store and they cannot help him. I have the money to pay on a credit card. They keep declining my card and shut off my phone. I call customer service, get a recording and I have pushed every number on the phone and cannot get a live person. I am going crazy. HOW DO YOU GET A LIVE PERSON???? called customer service on monday, they told us (the accent was so thick, we asked 3 times) we had until tues @ 6pm to pay our bill. Woke up tues, no service. Please do not order Cricket wireless phone via web or using a Csr. I order the phones on 8/6/10 and received them on 8/9/10 only to find out that one of the phone belongs to someone elses account, I was not charged the price that was being advertised and last that the amountI paid using my debit cart was $86.38 but they only posted $5.00 to my account. Now none of the half speaking english representatives can tell me where my funds are. I worked hard for the little income I have and no one is going to steal from me, I am in the process of contacting CNN and any other News broadcasting shows that I can to alert people about their bad service. You may become a VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT. All the Csr know how to say is can I put you on hold for a minute or I am sorry and we will escalade your complaint to a higher level. Oh did I mention within 2 days I have talked to 9 different inexperience CSr. They will tell you to go to their Corporate office and it will be taken care of, that will be a wasted trip because they are going to tell you they can't help you since it was done on-line. Oh I forgot to tell you that one of the dumb F----ers gave me a Dollar general number for their Corporate office number. I've had several Cricket plans for my kids in the past and have been satisfied with the customer service, but my recent transaction is nothing less than a nightmare. I ordered a phone last night on their webpage using a representative assist me via texting. This slowed the ordering process and it consumed almost 40 minutes of my time as I waited for the rep to respond. Once the order was placed and I recieved a confimation, I noticed that they made an error on the shipping address. While still on-line with the representative, I tried to have him correct his mistake, but he couldn't. So he tells me that I have to call customer support at 5:30am so that they can correct shipping address before it leaves. The next morning, I call up at 5:30am, but the number he gave me was incorrect. So I try the main number and after several conversations and call backs, I finally talk to a customer support person who assures me that the package will go out with the correct address. However, at noon I get an email from Cricket saying that the package is going to the incorrect addresss. So I call up customer support again, and I am on the phone for 35 minutes (waiting). It turns out I'm sh1t out of luck, no refund and no course of action. I am SO PISSED OFF!!!! WHAT CAN I DO?

Not one serv. rep. spoke recognizable English; my phone is dying after a few months; I cannot change account info on-line as promised: in short, they advertise at bus stops for a reason: they are the ghetto cellular carrier of choice. First, I would like to say AUGH!!!! My husband finally convinced me to connect to his plan, so I agreed. The advertisement to add someone for just $15.00 can be kindof deceiving because you think that's the additional charge you would pay ea month. Second, you talk my husband into changing his plan with the pretext of saving money a month then you add all the TAXES to it and up, up and away. The up front approach works better for me. My son wanted to bridge a payment which he told me was $20.00, when I call to assist him they charge me $34.00 dollars.??? Finally, as I vacation in AZ, the reception has been horribly frustrating, cut off day after day. Find the right corner to get in. I could hardly communicate with customer service. unlimited,they,cricket are the very essance of limited,ispent the first 22 days of my broadband use trying to figure out why video would stop start etc, after many phone calls to cricket i found a competant person,turns out the modum did not install correctly,eventhough it said "succsesfull instalation" tryed to get cricket to give me back some of my "unlimited broadband" because for 22 days it did not work properly. i am looking for a new provider' vote with your cash, its the only thing that matters to crikcket,certainly the customer doesnt matter. hit em in the pocket book. mds 8/4/10 4:42PM

I honestly can't find enough hateful words to say how angry I am with this company. Funny thing though....NO ONE can beat their price! You just pay the difference in pain, suffering, and stress *if* you ever have problems. This is, without question, the worst company that I have ever dealt with! They have built electronic walls so that they never need to respond to their customers. On the rare occasion when you reach customer service you will discover thyat it is an Indian call center that can help you with nothin! Cancel them if you're smart. July 21, 2010 I had conntected Cricket about it's DSL. I was on fringe of there coverege area and was told by the sales rep, I had 24 hours to to "receive" a full refund if I was not happy with the connection. So I thought if it was not going to work I would not loose anything. I paid 86.05 at 6:03pm to get the um185 broadband moduem. The store closed at 6:00pm so I was very thankful he stayed to get me going. I went home and a few hours later I installed it. It was slower the my old dial-up. So I returned the nexted day (July 22, 2010) after work at 5:29pm. Another sales rep. told me I was not going to get my refund for the activation and insurance because I did not bring it back the same day.(Did on modeum) I told him I was told I had 24 hours to bring it back, he kept saying no, same day only. Again we argued for a while and I said "look" at the receipt, I bought at 6:03pm yesterday and your store closes at 6:00 pm so how could I bring it back when your store sold it to me after the store closed anyway!!! Then he proceed to tell me Cricket has to refund me!!!! So I call customer service and they said I could receive a refund after they cancell my service. I told them I had already returned it , he said it was not cancelled yet till I call Cricket. The store never told me this!!! They would have billed me for the month if I had not called them!!! Once transfored to a different department they gave me the run around and said again I would have to bring it back the same day!! Again how do you bring it back the same day if they sold it to you after hours!!!!! (They said Sorry no refund) Again I said they sold it to me after regular store hours don't you understand I could noy return it . He said "YES" I understand but "SORRY" no refund. I will not stop till I get my moneys worth. I did what I was told to but they have rules in place to ripe you off!!! Dishonest at the least and misrepresented as well. I will spread the word and I hope inform people of there crooked business practices!! This is the WORST customer service I've gotten from a phone company. I've been a customer over a year and every month my bill is due on the 20th. I get paid on the 22nd of every month and have been trying to change the due date to the 22nd. I even went to the corporate office which is 30 minutes out of my way in traffic, to be told that I was a day late and needed to come back next month. WTF? Its a damn date change in the computer. I have tried to talk to numerous reps about this and still the date is not changed. Cricket does not care about the customer at all. NEVER use cricket! My husband has been using them for a year now just to save money. They wrote down the wrong address for us so we weren't getting bills. We called FOUR times and told them the correct address, and they never changed it. My husband tried to pay over the phone and it wouldn't let him six times, but each of those time it did somehow know to charge a dollar to our bank account for trying to pay over the phone. So he finally went into their store to pay there, and there was a $10 late fee, plus a $3 charge for using a debit card! I will never use cricket again and will recommend that to everyone I know. I have been trying to terminate my service sence 5pm az time. I first went to the only corprate store in my area,which is 10 miles from my home,and spoke to the store manager who informed me that because I paid my bill 5 days prior to the due date I was stuck with the service until 8/21/10.
Next I called your customer service and spoke to 5 people before I got to a person who told me no problem the service whould be terminated and I could get a refund but he needed to tranfer me. He did that person said call back in an hour thier service was down.
Over the next 5 hours I have called back to be told the same thing system down call back in an hour. Well last call @ 10pm the line says there are no customer service persons available call back during regular business hours!!!
Are you kidding me!! I have been with cricket for 5 years! I fully expect that a superviser or manager would see this and do the right thing. If I were not forced to get a pay cut & unpaid days off I would not be turning off my service. But I need to get my medications!!

I down loaded the update that they said was now available for my Cricket modem, IT QUIT WORKING! I took it 70 miles to the nearest store they "Flashed" it (under protest) They couldn't get it to work in the middle of their service area. Then blamed it on where I lived. Don't bother complaining to the Missouri Attorney General's Office for consumer affairs, They won't do anything. This is the worst customer service that I have ever encountered!!! I've never been able to get the automated pay service to work...after the first three days of using it with no problems, now it just repeats different messages about why I cant, and after calling customer service they can't give me an answer why. I can hardly get someone that speaks English. Stupid crap. Not to mention they now say their "system is down" for the next 4 to 6 hours (the first time I called it was 1 hour). Ugh. waited at the store for over an hour. There was a one person helping people, one other walked up and said she could only take payments, not answer questions or set up service. I was in the store to ask a question and watched several people walk up to the woman who was supposed to only be taking payments and ask her questions, also she set up new service for someone. To be quite honest the whole experience has been unbelievable... I sent in for the rebate for the broadband that I got for my grandaughter... I startedd using cricket in August of 2000. I now have two phone lines and two internet modems. Everything seems to work ok here in town, but EVERY-TIME I travel outside my calling area it's trouble! I don't know how they can legally advertise "nationwide coverage" thats a joke...I recently drove to St. George, UT (approx 100 miles east of Las Vegas, NV I'm traveling from Tucson, AZ I lost service 30 miles out of Phoenix and was without phone service for a week! I phoned customer service soo many times and was advisede by several reps. to try various functions ie. take battery out for 1 Hr.reinstall and it would be perfect-didn't work. next I was told to turn the phone off for 10 minutes re start and hit *228 nope that didn't work, the next rep. had me do the two prior steps and add ##626 send- naw that did nothing it was getting comical I called another seven times just to see what lie they would tell next. after 4 days I spoke with a senior tech who informed me that if I drove to the Airport that there was a strong signal there and that I would certain ly have phone service from then on yeah right I finally became HOT and phoned in and demanded to speak with the president, owner or someone with a live brain and I ended up with an area manager who informed me that the rep. in Tucson had given me bad intel and that there was no way that my phone would work unless I took it to a full service cricket store for programing. That's 200 miles of driving I declined and informed him that I would not be paying for the dead week ON ANY OF MY 4 SERVICES! The service loss wqas bad, but I was more furious with the continuous lies and run-around.

Not to mention that all the majority of the calls I made from my cricket phone were dropped after a few minutes of talking and I was charged extra hidden fees at the beginning of my contract. Well where do I begin? Cricket Communications absolutely sucks. I am on vacation in the state of Alabama and before I left my hometown of San Diego, CA, I was told by a local cricket store representative that I surely would have service when I reached Alabama and to reprogram my phone by entering *228. It was successful and off I went. Upon reaching Alabama, I had nationwide coverage but my internet wasn't working and I wasn't able to receive or send picture messages. Being a conscientious and paying customer, I decided to call Cricket and ask why wasn't I able to use the services that I had already paid for. I was informed that because I was out of my home calling area that I only has access to talk and regular text messaging. But then my troubles really began. The so-called representative told me to enter *228 again and then ##626*. This was supposed to give me access to the internet and picture messaging. But in truth, my Samsung phone instantly became a 5.0 ounce paperweight. I could no longer make or receive calls, and no other features were working on my phone. I had lost the signal. I was then instructed that I would have to send my phone back to San Diego to get it reprogrammed. Me sending the phone cost me $42.00 and still they weren't able to reprogram my phone. With this said, I insist on anyone that has to deal with Cricket to switch to another carrier or deal with idiotic and unprofessional people that are in a call center probably in Burma. Absolute con artists! I was going to cancel the service as I was told I could not suspend for more than 2 weeks, then I'd have to pay 1/2 the month.
I called again to cancell service on both my phones and was told I didn't have to do that = they could suspend them for as long as I want and I could re-instate later without a cost/charge.
Low and behold I get a bill 3 weeks later for both phones plus $53. I call that 1800 cricket number and I can't reach a live person. I finally came here and found a good number to use. Even then, got 2 people that spoke english but didn't understand my dilema. Finally the 3rd person did understand and fixed the billing issue. If you read the comment from Harry under the employee comments,sounds a hell of a lot like an excuse,you want to know about angry customers calling you,I have worked for Emachines and Gateway Technical support,that is support for desktops and laptops that cost far more than any piece of garbage cricket phone which means that when people call you when its busted or not working right they are twice as pissed and you can ensure that Emachines had the same amount or more of disgruntled customers with their products I know bad products=stressful tech reps,I also worked as a representative for Humana with Medicare Part D,you try having the same call volume but instead of people who are coherant and somewhat knowledgable of their issues you have seniors that have been denied their medications and are fighting the government to stay alive so do not tell me about stressful environment,FURTHERMORE CRICKET REPRESENTATIVES SUCK! Well I tell you what, cricket is the biggest orginized crime group to me that is. I let my phone shut off because I couldnt pay my bill. It is to my estimation that pre-paid is when you turn the service back on it is due 30 days from that date so I thought I turned the phone back on June 18th 2010 and it is to my amazment that its off again and they are wanting over $400 dollars that sounds like a hidden contract to me. I am not even going to fight with them but I am going to kick there %sses to the curve. The store in Washington, DC on Alabama Avenue Southeast, The manager who is in thie store was very unprofessional, by request me to leave the store out loud, because I told him I was having a problem with my wireless broadband, he told me there was nothing wrong with it, after so call checking it. The another customer came in the store with the same problem. I said to him I thought there was nothing wrong with the broadband. That's when he told me to leave his store, because I was causing trouble. I did not use any bad words when I said what I did. It was his attitude. I am a african american woman and this is a large community of black people and he is a white man. I feel he only did this to me becaue I am black and woman. I have not been in the store since I had this problem and I live in the area. I go to another area to get service It's better. If this man is still in this store he shoould be moved. This company SUCKS!! I was told my bill had to be t was due the 20th but they took it out the 15th! With NO NOTICE. Then my bill goes from $25 to $50 a month again with NO NOTICE! I didn't know until I saw my bank statement. I called to find out why and just got the run around then requested to cancel my service and was told I had to go into a store to do it. When I asked to speak to a supervisor the HORRIBLE customer ervice rep hung up on me. I called back and demanded they discontinue their crappy service immediately and was instructed to fax my info showing the debit and my money would be refunded in 7 days. It is now 3 and a half weeks later and NO REFUND. I try calling but since my phone has been shut off i can't get past the automated prompts. I want my money back. I ordered it april 16th, @ 30 amonth, a free 50 dollar credit card. I think Cricket Wireless has awful service, when I am in my apartment it always cuts out. I think alltel, tmobile, and verizon are much better qualitys. First off when you call the system requests that you give your date of birth three times, then after that it says we are having trouble what is your zip code. After that 9 out of 10 times you will get disconnected.

I hate to be negative, however, I have been a Cricket customer for three years. I have never once had a positive result when something happens. I am hard of hearing, but I wear a hearing aid. Arrrrgghghghg this is the worst cell phone company I have ever tried to deal with. I am from Canada, and there I have a plan that is basic calling and unlimited texting for 25$CAD a month with a nice phone included. That is all I wanted or needed. Coming to the USA I could not find any mainline plans with just the basics. But then I stumbled across Cricket, which offered a decent plan (35$USD/month) that actually included unlimited calls back home to Canada and unlimited texting. However they had no decent phones in stock for a good price, so I just got the basic phone.
Well, now my bill is 42.50$USD/month with all of their fees, and half my calls are dropped within 10 minutes, no matter who I call. Their phone is possibly worse than the one I had 6 years ago, and their customer service is horrendous.
I know people may say that "You get what you pay for", but this plan is actually expensive compared to what I am used to, so I expected far better service. Why don't any of your big companies offer cheap and easy plans? All of our big three here in Canada do, and that is perfect for the young student just wanting the basics.

I have to agree with everyone. Cricket is the most worthless company I have ever dealt with. I got the phone and the broadband and was told it would absolutely-positively work in the area where we go to our trailer every week-end. If I asked once, I asked ten times,if we would be charged for roaming and again was told absolutely not, there is no roaming charges. Te phone and pc stopped working about 1:00 on our way and luckily I didn't cancel my other phone yet and I called the store where I purchased it and was told to come in and return them and when I got there was told there's no refund.The broadband had a $50 rebate and I just received a letter saying I was denied because I didn't have service for 45 days or more. What a rip off. We have been on with the support for 5 days now trying to get our cricket phone to work. When my boyfriend was in New York he bought a phone from Cricket. He was told there was stores in Utah and that he bought the best phone they had. When he got here we gave the phone to my daughter and started a new account. The phone never worked. We tried to find a store in SLC and they have all closed down. The phone cost 200.00 and they keep telling him he has to go back to New York. He was even told to not call back by one of the employees. They also told us we would have to buy a new phone, the phone is only 3 months old. Over a year ago I bought a cheap phone from AT&T the phone only cost me 30.00 I have had no problems with it. I am so disgusted with Cricket. What a scam and what a joke. Cricket online service is impossible! I have never been able to pay a bill online. Also, I just tried to set up an account for a new Paygo phone... it didn't recognize the serial number. It had to be activated by calling customer service. Once I had an actual phone number, the number wasn't recognized on their site. 1) Out of every 5 calls that i make in the US,, 4 drop within the first minute. I've monitored calls for the months of Feb., March and April.
2) impossible to make any Intl' phone calls although i'm paying 10 USD/month. It looks like my phone is ringing calling the intl' number but it is not ringing at their side. I've done the test by calling 3 different numbers, through different days in a week, watching the other side through skype and the phone was not ringing on their side, while my phone was ringing normally.
3) i've called their customer service almost 10 times about the issues and every time they tell me to reset my phone. Still no change even after i reset. Most of the times, due to the high drop rate, the call drops while i'm on hold waiting for one of their representatives to come back to me with an answer. Of course next time i call the new one wants to know the story from the start. They cannot see any previous history of the calls i've made and the problems i've reported.
4) the sound and reception from the samsung phone i got is of extremely low quality.
5) every month near payment date, their service drops significantly both in terms of drop calls as well as reception quality.sm 5/12/10 1:11PM

Cricket avertise that there is no contract, no hidden fees, no hassle. But when you buy a phone from them, you have pay extra to pay your bill, they automatically ad service to your account without informing me, and when you cancell they want to charge for it and you are stuck with a phone that cannot do anything with it. Just like a contract phone.

Have had no problems with Cricket until my paycheck came two days after my bill was due. I wanted to be proactive so I call to ask them for a two day extension. There response was I need to give them $17 by tomarrow at 6 and I'll get a week to pay. I pointed out that at time I have no money to do that and I don't need a week, just two days and the bill would be paid in full. THey would not bugde. Not wanting to but the next day I put $17 on a credit card, for the week extension, by 9 pm my phone was turn off. the only Nnumber I could dial was *611. After a day in a half I tried to, Pay the entire bill with credit card on line , on the phone and two days after I'm still waiting.
The most frustrating thing about this is how this company makes it impossible to talk to billing, customer service, or any human that works for the company. Cricket has awful service and continually tries to charge me more than the set rate. Customer service hangs up on me and store employees, while nice, never resolve my problem and don't believe my phone even has one. I have trouble sending and receiving texts, making calls, and calls are dropped all the time. Service intermittently drops in and out, and the service map has random dead zones (such as my office and living room, but the rest of my house is fine?). The customer service with this company is abysmal. They have an automated system that isnt always what you need, and their live customer service reps are from another country, not Americans, very hard to talk to and be understood. You will probably spend a great deal of time at their corporate offices trying to get your phone bill sorted out and paid. I know I have. If I knew what I know now when I started cell phone service, I would not go with them. The aggrevation is not worth the $10 month savings over better cell phone companies, and they make it up anyway when they overcharge you and then refuse to give it back, they will just say, "we cannot do anything about that" ... and you're left asking who can? the answer is no one. there is a mysterious hole in the universe where any and all monies paid to Cricket Cellular goes, and they will never be able to rescue your overcharged money from that hole.

I noticed a charge on the monthly bill that I need to resolve. So I called the customer service line, got kicked out three times for whatever reasons and on the fourth attempt and probably 25 minutes on hold I had a customer representative on the end how just repeats his name over and over PRETENDING that he does not hear me. If he would have stopped a moment in-between repeating his name he may have heard me or if he at least pretended to be listening it may have been classified in my mind as a technical issue. Worst Customer Service for a phone company. Talked to West for signup. Talking to a sales rep. always seems to go easy where ever you go to. When I got the email confrimation for the fedex tracking # for the A600 Modem, my mom's aptartment number was not there. I asked the account to be under my name, because 1. i did not have all of my mom's information 2. I want to deal with all the hassle if there was any. Called Fedex and they said call Cricket. Cricket told they cant do anything for me. I talked a sales person, a Customer Service person named Allen and a manager so he claims to be. Allen could not help me find the order number. I told her that I had two emails that i was looking at. She wanted to hang up on me, and said to call back when i had it. Thats when i lost it. I read her the who email and found it on my own. She should be able to tell me exactly where to find the order number. She cant do this on her own. I called back after allen said she will escalate my call to her manager. I gave her the wrong digit for call back number. Spoke with a guy and he did not say he was not the manager, until much later after the conversation, wich really made even more mad. The manager said that the account was under my mom. There was a reason why i called in for my mom. They do not take notes on calls and i believe there are no individual ques for each of the customer servicve there. My mom never called in there once but she is on the account. Managers solution is if she does not get the modem it will be ship back to them and she can have a refund in 30 days. They refuse to reship the item if my mom does not recieve it. If she does not get it, then i have to put up my mom to call them to get a refund. She yelled at Clear Services before she called me for help. Unfortunatly Cricket does not have the right type of people that will have the patience to put up with my mom and her accent, from what I exerpience. I had someone within a minute and I kept my cool, was friendly with him (when he said "how can I help you?" I didn't blow up on him, I kindly said, "Can you help me find someone knowledgable who is interested in helping me take care of my concern? What an absolute joke. Good luck finding someone in the US to help with concerns. Make sure you have a translator with you to deal with representatives in India and The Phillipines. Be cautious of scams to get you to pay reinstatement fees for erroneous billing and "flex bucket" accounts. Don't expect any better results from asking to be connected with a supervisor; right when you might think you are making progress to get your issues resolved, you will conveniently be disconnected, then find yourself starting from ground "0" , only to see all of this play out exactly the same way. In the end, you will get better results by talking directly to a wall than you will speaking with a Cricket customer service representative. s 4/20/10 5:45PM

This is the worse wireless internet service that I have ever received. 1st call rep kept telling me to pay my bill on line - did not want to pay on line - she would not let me - went to cricket store and put on my debit card - 2nd call - they told me that my card had expired - answered back with information - they ignored me - went to store again to give another card with information - cricket disconnected me for none payment - called them - said I was suppose to call them and tell them that i did that - Must not have computer access to see that I paid - Again gave them the information - guess what - they billed my credit card for two months - well again this month they said that my card was expired - it does not expire until 3/12 - tried calling - that was my stupid mistake - you can not get a live person on the line.
I will tell every body that I talk to DO NOT EVER GET CRICKET IF YOU WANT TO BE SANE AGAIN

Stress levels through the roof dealing with Cricket. I have 2 children attending college in the states with these phones. I moved overseas (military) 4 months ago & have tried to change my address with no luck. They have no idea what an APO address is despite all of my credit cards, mail being tied to that address. Cricket has the worse customer service ever we have paid our services online and they cut us off claiming that they did not receive payment when our bank statement clearly shows the deductions. The worst customer service experience ever. Phone in customer service help is useless as they are always heavily accented and impossible to understand.

Local corporate store located on bell road in phoenix, manager has the worst attitude i have ever gotten from a business, EVER!. He has worked here forever so it's obvious his life has gone nowhere and he takes it out on the customers by going on a rude power trip on a daily basis.
If cricket cared about their customer base they would fire this man immideately. Screwed up my phone once when i went to have a feature checked which suddenly quit working, changed my plan by mistake which made me lose a special priced rate feature which he couldn't reinstate as he no longer had a special "code".
made my bill increace by 10 dollars a month, I have beeen a customer with them scince 2001 and this is how they treat me.
Then when i confronted the manager who initially screwed up my plan first he denies culpability (of course) then he purposely screwed up my rate which accounted for three months of overcharging. he, as i said before, is the manager of the store located on 57th and bell rd in phoenix arizona, his name is jose and if you care anything about your customers then please investigate this person as he has left me with no desire to ever enter your cricket store again. Horrible!!! I tried using the 1800Cricket thing before.. hours later its still unable to locate my acct. I use my "house phone" instead and call, and it finally locates my account. The recording telling me my balance due is 0.00. I know its not.. I keep getting the automated calls on my phone too, and my bill is due the same time every month. After doing all that, I find this number here. (tytytyty!) Yes, someone in India. They charge me an additional 5.00 on my bill for "processing". I was out of my marbles by then, take the damn 5.00 bucks! Just SO angry. Even after I explained that I had been jumping hoops in their automated line for over an hour, she just said "sorry" and charged me the extra money anyway. I hate Cricket. I bought my 13 year old niece a cricket phone which she loves. I signed up for auto billing directly to my credit card but it appears every other month they somehow forget about that and cut off her phone. Then I have to pay all of these reconnecting fees. Anyone else running into that same problem?

I have Cricket Broadband, and after I upgraded their connection software, my brower comes up with mycricket.com web page.

After over an hour of figuring out how to reach a real person (you can't use the menu options anymore, appearently)
Cricket Tech Support can't fix it, and suggests I call my computer manufacturer.

Completely worthless company. Everything is out sourced to some other country (India is my best guess). Locked my online account, automated system would not accept the same card I bought the phone with and they charged me more with the number provided in this link.
Economy hit me hard. Once was a concrete foreman but now work as a gas station attendant. Can't stand the fact they outsource with so many out of work and use "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" as their slogan. We have none of that. Worst customer service ever besides Comcast cable....87wildside 3/18/10 4:15PM

Cricket has got to be one of my worst business experience in my life. I started service with Cricket and when I tried to activate the phone it says i am out of the service area and the phone also would not hold a charge for more than a few hours on standby. Long story short, after 10 calls to customer service and 2 visits to the store my phone still had no service and the defective phone was not replaced. When I finally asked them to cancel the service and refund my money since I've had no service since day one, they had the nerve to imply I didn't try hard enough to contact them to get the problem resolved. I had to pay for shipping to send the defective phone back to them for a refund. Every time you call or go to the store to report a problem all they do is put in a ticket or request an escalation. Then when nothing happens and you call to check on the status they put in another escalation. Nothing is ever resolved only more tickets and escalation requests. If you ask for a superviser they put someone on the phone that tells you the same thing as the first rep and offers to put in another escalation. I can't even understand how this company stays in business. This is one of the worst service experience I have ever run into in my life. You have to demand a "live person" to help you. I've been with Cricket for almost 3 years now. Last month their system did not show that I had made a payment and cut off my service. I called customer service to find out what was going on and told them I had a confirmation # for my payment. I was told that I had to get proof from my bank that they had actually released the funds to Cricket. I told them I couldn't call my bank because THEY HAD CUT OFF MY SERVICE and this was my only phone. I'm stuck out in the country, I'm handicapped, can't even call a cab to take me to the bank. I finally decided to try looking on my bank's web site and discovered I could email them, which I did. The next morning, with the information from the email, I called Cricket again and was told that my service would be restored in around 30 min. That was 8:30am. It still wasn't on by 2:00pm. I could no longer get through to a person. When I called the Cricket "store" they said they were sales only and would not handle my problem. I was forced to pay my bill again plus a $10 fee to reinstate service. My bank counseled me to ask for a manager and get them to make a 3-way call during which my bank could tell them they had paid the bill. Customer Service would not do this.
This is the 2nd problem I've had with cessation of service that had noting to do with non-payment of my bill. Last summer my car broke down. When I tried to call AAA, my phone service had been cut off. I spoke with Tech Support 3 times and they couldn't fix the problem. I had to walk several blocks to my drug store where they know me well enough to take pity on me and let me use their business phone to call for a ride. When I took the phone to the "store" the next day, the young woman on Tech Support fixed the problem within 2 min. and told me any one of the guys on the phone should have been able fix it. It stemmed from a computer data entry error at the server.
I will probably put up with the bad customer service because I cannot afford long-distance with another carrier and my credit was squashed by my ex-husband, so I'm stuck. I wish I weren't. I would get service with another carrier at the drop of a hat. I will, however, call each and every month to make sure they have credited my payment.lizzz55 3/15/10 6:29PM

I have all the same complaints as everyone except I have the computer wireless. They either do not answer after placing you on hold (call volume is high, call back), or they put you on hold and then hang up. I paid for 2 months last month but they are shutting me off after 1 month. This company is a joke and I advise you do not do business with them. I will never do business with Cricket again. I purchased the A600 modem and after rebate the modem is free. My rebate was denied because my service was suspended for non payment. I have automatic bill pay which my order confirmation stated as such. I needed a phone number to submit my rebate and tried calling and emailing with no luck. I was given the runaround, told to call this number, then referred to another number and repeatedly told that they apologize for the screw up but could do nothing about refunding the rebate. I was on the phone over 3 hours getting the runaround. Today I have filed a complaint with the attorney general's office and will contact FCC for internet fraud. The customer service number is automated but it starts with the message that the call might be monitored for training purposes, that's a joke. You never think to research complaints until it happens to you. Now, I research it before I commit to anything. Saves a lot of headaches. I purchased my phone on 4/2007, never submitted a claim. The Handset Protection Program, is provided as an insurance program; which clearly states,"once the claim is approved, a non-refundable (a. #35, $50. or $85.deductible will apply depending on the device purchased. I addressed this with a Cricket agent (in person) and Diane #3044 (Assurant Solutions)but was told there is not $35., $50 they can only authr. a $85.replacement. I called to cancel my sons phone service and the rep talked me into reserving the # for $15 a month. Little did I know that the service automatically kicked back in. Cricket has been deducting a monthly phone charge (almost $60) since July. They now owe me over $400.00. I cannot get a hold of Corportate or even get thru the automated system to talk to a rep. The whole thing has been a nightmare. They have been promising me a reimbursement since January 7th but give me the run-a-round when I call. I have been a Cricket customer for about 2 years. I have spent untold hours on hold and trying to deal with agents who can barely communicate. The service stinks, but the price is great. You get what you pay for with Cricket. I used to have Sprint, and spent 2 years disputing inaccurate bills, nasty tempered English speaking agents and fighting to get an accurate bill. Customer service is bad, no matter what the company. My $50 monthly bill is still better than $100 with Sprint. I have had cricket phone service for about 3 years and until I wanted to change my plan had no problems and great customer service. On Feb 3, 2010 I called to add two lines to my existing service for a family plan that advertised for $99. I was told first month free on the two new lines. I was told to go into a cricket store and make sure they were added to my existing line as a Family Plan. I go into the store today 2/22/20 well before the free time ended and find out I wasn't signed up for a family plan at all and had to pay $178. Instead of being signed up for family plan they opened a second account! I had to pay $15 to downgrade my existing plan, plus a month of service and $112 for the family plan. I was literally charged twice for the same line!!!!! The girl in the store claimed she was the manager, which I seriously doubt. I called cricket got hung up on by one agent and bamboozled by a second. I asked to speak to a supervisor he put me on hold came back gave a different name and that he was the supervisor. First thing out of his mouth was I had overpaid and should have a credit. Before the conversation was over I owed them. I had no problem letting him know that unhappy customers tell everyone and happy customers refer. Well once the phones get here guess what, they don't work no single. Spent hours on the phone trying to get answers only to be told that I needed to mail the phones back and that i had to pay shipping to send it. Been a Cricket customer for years, but always have problems paying on-line, over the phone and even through a bank account. Their customer service is non existence and it would seem that a growing company would want to improve this service. All it would take is for one of the other communications companies to offer pay-as you-go service to those of us who have poor credit and out they will go. I bought a refurbished Samsung U430, from Cricket's Online Site. had the service about a month it was ok, had no problems. I upgraded my plan so i could send/receive mms, and mobile web.Well i waited about a day to see if the services would start working, they did not. I called their customer service, about 10 times before someone gave me a logical answer of what was going on. I called once more and this time I was helped by a US call center rep. I explained to him what was going on, so he asked me to take the battery off and give him the numbers in the back of the phone, and guess what! He said that the device i had was not a cricket handset, that it was a phone flashed to cricket, I told him i had bought it from crickets online site. He said he could not help me any further. but he nicely told me what i need it to do to fix this. NOW, why would cricket sell me a flashed phone??? I am amazed a company can be so stupid to do something like this, was told i could not use what i paid for, when it was them that send me a flashed phone!!!I will go to the cricket store and let hell loose on this people! The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The store at 67th ave and thomas closes at 7:00. We are in line at 6:30. They make us stand outside the door, and at 7:00 "Edna" the "Manager" locks the door and tells everyone standing outside, sorry, go to another store.

Ok, its cheap and now I know why. How depressing. Not sure why they are advertising for more customers when they do such a bad job keeping the ones who want to stay.

Only reason why they have clientel is because most of us that are with them have challenging credit&most likely can't get service with one of the major companies! I havwe been w/them since 08/06 and it has been pure hell but I have had job losses,layoffs so I'mm yet to build my credit back up!But as soon as I do, it's out of here for Cricket! The phones are too high &then when you go buy that same phone for cheaper,get it flashed they act like they get mad when you call in to have it activated bec it's not their EIN code! What a joke! Oh &talk about the bridge pay! One you set it up, don't have a problem or question before your 7 dys are up& call in,their automated system routes you all around town! ok, so today i went to the cricket store. my samsung messager (the first one) is totally broke. so i took it in.the girl there gave me a card and said to call it and they would send me a new upgraded version(the samsung messager two) for free. ok, so then i asked if i could like downgrade, cause i definiatly didnt want the same phone, and i thought this cheaper phone was cool, and looked better, and you would totally think you could downgrade for free since an upgrade is free, right!?! WRONG! she said i would have to pay for the wholeee phone! which is $120. what the heck!?! that didnt even make sense to me!! so i went home and instead of calling the number on the card she gave me, i used the website, because on the card it said i could do either one. so i did that, and entered all my stuff for a claim, and at the very end it says it costs $85 for the same exact phone, not even an upgraded version!!! what the heck!! so i just closed out of that. i want to pay like the least possible,so i decided to just buy a phone from ebay, so i went on ebay, and am now currently watching a cell phone on there. funnn.. anyways..i called the actual cricket number on their website, asking if i could use the ebay bought phone once i get it and replace it with my phone, but have the same plan and phone number and account and everything, the guy and phone was kinda quiet for a second and said, i...don't...know...

How dare they call themselves customer service agents. They don't know what they are doing, they do not listen and most of them do not understand the needs of the customers due to the language barriers. First of all, the people handling the phones should speak and understand English. I can't understand them, and they can't understand me.
I was on the phone with them for hours today being routed and re routed to all the wrong departments only because the corporate stores will NOT answer their phones no matter what! This company has the most inept, unqualified people running it's company. It is just a matter of time when the first class action law suit hits them for lying to their customers among other things. God forbid your phone should break when it is under factory warranty. See how many different stories you can get about what the 45 dollars is for, and how you will get it back.

I have had cricket for many years(5plus) and paid online and phone was still disconnected. If you pay online the payment is not posted until the next day! That should be posted prominently on their online payment site-it is not posted. If you pay on the phone they post it immediately and charge you an extra $5. CRICKET IS THE ABSOULTE WORST. I AM SWITCHING SERVICES IMMEDIATLY AND POSTING ON EVERY REVIEW SITE I CAN FIND FOR PEOPLE TO NOT CHOOSE CRICKET> Cricket is the worst.

The Customer Service REPS SPEAK ALL FOREIGN LANGUAGES---- Not one person speaks straight ENGLISH----- AND--- that makes it very difficult for lines of communication--- either they just simply do not listen or they just simoly do not understand ENGLISH--- It's one thing to have a second language, but to not even know how to speak CLEARLY in that language makes it so much worse!!!!!! I know don't of any worse experience than trying to resolve an issue with Criket. It doesn't matter what the issue is you still have to go through minutes of promps that take you know where. When you do get a live person, you guessed it, they can't help you. But you know what they love to say, "Is there anything else I can help you with sir." Total BS!
Criket is no longer the cheapest out there. You can do better and get better!! I just switched to Tmobel and have virtually the same plan for virtualy the same cost. PLEASE DON'T SUPPORT THIS COMPANY!!!chris 1/18/10 1:04PM

Cricket's internet offer of first month free service is false. I had my service shut down for nonpayment as a result. Why don't the customer service reps respond to questions rather than just hang up on you ? Very disappointing customer service. They do not answer the question about billing and other services they just keep talking about the amount do. I add roaming service to my account early December but called and cancel it in December 23, 2009 they did not remove it from my account called about it again on 12 January 2010 they told me there is nothing document of that call. Crickett puts their store representatives in the line of danger from their refusal to deal with you appropriately over the phone. I disconnected the phone and 2 months of services was taken out of my account afterward. I went to the store and was told they could not do anything and I would have to deal with customer services on the phone. After backing my way in to customer services and getting a rep I am told I didn't cancel, they take money out of your bank account in advance of the new cycle. PULL UP, I did not AUTHORIZE that! Bottom line, they are giving me the run a round to get my money back! After going back and fourth, they acknowledge they owe me, have taken the money out of my account , however, I must fax them my bank statement showing the money has been taken out! WTHeck, my bank transactions is none of their business. There record shows they taken the money out! I remove all of the other bank information except for theirs and fax it. Still no money. I call today to be keep on hold, then get through a operator to be placed on hole, then hung up on. After several times of this, 1 rep tell me they credited me 40+ dollars. WWTHFREAK? How are you going to credit to a phone that has been cut off. So they are going to keep money for a phone that is disconnected and they have received money for service in new cycles? Do IZ sound angry enough to go to one of the stores with a pick it. Who wants to join a class action. Frustrated! 1/4/10 1:42PM

We recently purchased a phone and a "no contract" plan with Cricket and we were very mad, furious even by the way they handled our return. Granted, it is cheap phone service but even just the first day we used it, the phone kept dropping calls, kept losing service, breaking up and when people called us, it didn't even ring or go to voicemail, it just dropped the call. In addition to awful cell phone service, they have the WORST customer service and the WORST return policy. We've had our phone for less than 24 hours and accumulated less than 30 mins on one phone but the other phone had 43 mins on it ONLY because we were trying to contact Cricket customer service in order to port our old numbers. And that call took 14 minutes. If it weren't for that service call, we would be able to return the other phone. We were hoping that since the call was TO CRICKET they would still take back the phone since the overage on the minutes was caused by our efforts to be more satisfied with our Cricket service. But the sales associate we spoke to was very rude and disrespectful. She did not attempt to help us or even pretend like she was concerned. My mother and I are in the Hospitality business, and our employers try to uphold the best customer service through us, the employees. Their lack of concern and overall terrible customer service just shows what kind of company Cricket is. Their commercial is so ironic, since they advertise how they "respect your wallet" and "respect you." By what we have experienced, they do the complete opposite. Just because Cricket is cheaper, doesn't mean the customers deserve horrible customer service. I guess they feel like they don't need to have good customer service since they are always going to have a clientele base (certain people with no social security numbers that are from below the border…ahem…[c‘mon!!! the upgrade comes with unlimited Mexico text!!!]), but with that kind of service, I really hope the company would fail miserably. I don't think they got the memo on how to run a client-based business. We are the consumers! They should do everything they can to make us happy. We don’t deserve to be treated that way! We are the customers and we are ALWAYS RIGHT!

I've purchased one the first cricket broadband ports and I've asked several cricket store if my port was compatiable with the new windows 7 microsoft. I used the windows 7 upgrade advisor and it say that the cricket port I purchased is not compatiable with the software for windows 7. I'm very disappointed with cricket. the absolute WORST customer service i have ever ever ever experienced! nobody ever answers the phone!!!!! i have been trying for 2 days to get a rep! however, i figured something out, go through broadband! i got a live agent, and i was surprised i didnt think she was overseas, she was VERY respectful, nice and willing to help me! when she told me she was overseas i was amazed! im on hold now, hoping she can fix my issue. the stupid store i bought my modem from didnt explain to me, the whole process of merging my modem to my account, and now i have to get it merged, with a possibility of deactivating it an having to pay the $15 to ractivate it. which i wont. this company is so nickle diming it isnt even funny. its a shame the nickel and diming, and the awful customer service ruins a good plan. the modem does work awesome, i plugged mine in on my vista, downloaded whatever it asked me to and it was all set. it does not play videos on youtube well though or other sites. i now have the samsung messager 11 phone, which i bought off ebay. but the man i spoke with when i changed over from the evoke plan didnt credit my account back, for the data package of $15, and the insurance of $5. so that was still on my bill. so luckily the lady i spoke with is crediting me back all but like .45 for prorated insurance. i was actually on the call while i was typing this and gina was who i spoke with. THE BEST REP EVER!!!! i wish all reps could be like this! she needs to be paid to give training classes! she took care of everything for me, and my modem didnt get deactivated either. this company really needs to get it together and get more reps like gina. so ok im not upset anymore, and honestly love the actual service packages and the quality that i get from my package. im on the $50 package which i get for $45 plus tax, and its perfect. i use 411 ALOT! honestly though, i shouldnt have got the evoke phone with that data package fee, that phone sucked and was over priced, and have the time the internet wouldnt work right. i wish i never woulda sold my hint phone, i loved that one too. but this messager kicks! its the easiest fastest way to text, and it sounds great on the phone, i can hold the phone with my shoulder and talk and people hear me fine, where as with the evoke they couldnt. i wanted to find out about flashing a blackberry, but i forgot to ask gina, and when i called the locations for cricket nobody does it! ugh! macawgirl 12/16/09 12:51PM

Ahhhh.... I have been trying for 2 days - yes that is 2 days to get my service turned back on!!! I paid on my credit card 2 days ago "and my service was to be back on within 30 min" Well, 30 min my ass! Cricket was doing well until they started to get bigger, getting comercials, ect. and now it is just crazy! Other than that you're stuck dealing with the horrible automated system or the people at the CricKet locations that are, in my experience, extremely rude and unhelpful. Its true, any phone service you pick you most likely will find things to complain about, But CRICKET TRULY TRIES TO STEAL FROM THIER CUSTOMERS> I have been a customer for a few years now. The first years service was ok(no terrible issues) , However as soon as I started to work in different parts of the country , I needed to switch to thier Roaming plan(which I did). Problem there was they claim the roaming works , It does not. Yet they charge you for it. After trying to get it resolved with thier company for six solid monthes, I finally gave up. With the song and dance they provide they should be on Broadway. They charged me six monthes for services they could not provide. My forty something bill was always over seventy. When they could not resolve the issue they offered me a 10 dollar credit for each of the six monthes (never reflected on my bill).
Went to a cricket dealer and the clerk showed me right on the screen that someone in thier company had noted right at the top
CUSTOMER IS FISHING FOR CREDITS. No wonder I could never get any help. Anyway, I cancelled my phone service with them and moved on to t-mobile, however I retained their high speed internet modem and services (which by the way , are just as useless). Went to pay my internet fees and was astonished to see they were trying to charge me 162+ dollars including two monthes of services for themselves on a phone that had previously been disconnected. Since cricket is a pay in advance service, they are obviously ADD, crooks, or have serious accounting issues. I would not write this but have spoken with several of thier reps, been lied to about resolutions to this issue, and finally had to report them to the FCC. This will be one of those letters you see posted all over the net soon. I have wasted so much time and money with this company, I cannot waste any more.I know there are folks out there that have not yet had any trouble with them yet, however , if your one of them, trouble is most likely coming in my opinion. Cricket is a complete rip off. Do not waste your time with a carrier that is bound to go bankrupt. Customer Service is crap, phones are crap and phone service is crap. You are better off going with a established company like Verizon or At&t. One more info, they cannot port any number, but if you ask them that they would differ until you actually purchase the phone and service and find out the hard way. Very misleading. Everything negative that you are hearing about Cricket and their junk phones is true. I really screwed myself trying to save money. I am just sick that I paid $300.00 for a Motorola Evoke. The phone is a worthless piece of junk. There is no custoner service. It took me a month to set up an e-mail account, it seems that yahoo mail can not be set up on a Cricket phone. I had to open a G-Mail account to get the email to work. Face Book does not work on this phone. The only thing Cricket is good at is selling you their services and their bad phones. I am staying until I get my rebates and then I am going with a company that has nationwide roaming. Cricket does not tell you that they have very limited coverage on their plan. Cricket Customer Service SUCKS!!!! They allow you to call customer service from your phone by dialing *611 and they take you through a series of phone prompts where you cannot get to a live voice. The CEO and marketing managers of CRICKET need to be fired if this is the best they can do. Anybody wanting to run a company amongst the type of competition that exists today such Boost Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, or even Sprint better have the details in order and CRICKET does NOT on the customer service side.
The representation in their local stores is subpar. THey are NOT professional.
Cricket does NOT have a blackberry. Shame on them...its 2009.
And to top it off, I bought the Samsung Messenger phone and its a piece of crap. Some of the text messages that I send don't save in my phone. Their graphic interface on the phone sucks. It's just ridiculous.
I've only been with them for a coupla months and the phone service is simply AVERAGE (not good enough against their competition) and thank GOd I've not had any problems with broadband so far.
Cricket deserves every negative rating they're receiving b/c their CEO/corporate office REFUSES to do anything about it! I blame upper level management and their marketing departments on the executive levels!!! Poorly disorganized and mismanaged.aj 9/30/09 8:25AM

the worst service they have i bought the internet service end the modem in houston they told me i was going to work in dallas and it did not work when i call to cancell the service they told me i can return the modem to have my money back they want me to go back to te store in houston to return it and i live in dallas i call to the store in houston and they told me to call customer service so i been like this for almost 2 months and my money $168 LOST untill they respond me someting diferent. I ordered a phone and broadband modem from them online 2 weeks ago. The phone service has been good - not great, and the broadband NEVER worked at all. I called many times for tech support to get it operational to no avail. SO when my bill was due I called to cancel the broadband service and they still tried to charge me again for the internet service. I called all day long trying to get to a human and could not. I found this number and it worked, but they still could not help me get the bill straight. So I will just drop cricket and go back to sprint. I wouldn't suggest cricket to my worst enemy. Finally! This number worked perfectly for me.
It seems that Cricket lowered their $45/mo plan to $40/mo. I was already paying $40 so I 'upgraded' my account to have the additional features. Well my next bill reflected the $45/mo plan.
The two closest 'official' cricket centers have phones that don't work. The closest one rings once then silence. The second one is busy 100% of the time, even at 2am.
Their 1-800-CRICKET number is a joke. Each option refers you to their website. Their corporate number is a joke. If you say you want to advertise with them or become an official dealer, they refer you to their website.
Another thing, I wanted to switch from a monthly bill to a PayGo plan. In the local 'payment only' store, I was told I couldn't use the current Cricket phone that I own. I told him that isn't what the website says.
I went to the closer 'official' store. The first girl said the same thing. I told her to fix her website. Finally I was in conversation with someone with a modicum of intelligence, the manager. He started off saying the same thing, but I showed him the copy on their site where it says "Already have a Cricket phone? Use it with PAYGo!"
So now he tells me how it works. I cannot switch a current Cricket phone to a PayGo plan. An active phone can't be switched to PayGo. It must be an inactive phone. So how do I make my current phone inactive? Cricket doesn't allow you to actually cancel your plan. The manager explicitly told me to let my account lapse. He said it would take at least 60 days. Then my phone would be deactivated from their system after 30 days of being past due.
So the easiest way to "Already have a Cricket phone? Use it with PAYGo!" is to not pay, go past due, go without a phone for 30 days, and ONLY THEN would I be able to use my Cricket phone with PayGo.
This sounds like a business plan a pre-schooler would come up with while trying to build something with a mixture of Lego and Duplo blocks.
I'd have to say, even the manager of the 'official' store wasn't that bright. It seems like they're given a script, 1st response always leaning to the negative. Then they try to resolve the issue with a bandaid, because they don't want any negative discussion with other customers listening in.
I was pretty much shoved out the door and had to fix the problems myself. And mind you, I had already driven 20 miles to the nearest 'official' store, because their phone didn't work, and still doesn't.
So to anyone considering using Cricket, just don't. The only reason I'm still with them is because I avoided any customer service issues for about 8 months and had established this number as my professional contact. I am currently developing a plan to migrate to an actual cell phone company.
By the way, even my bank told me they had never experienced any company that had such terrible (read 'nonexistant') customer service. The rep at my bank tried in vain for 30 minutes to contact a human at Cricket.

I have had so many problems with Cricket Wireless but the most recent is the message I receive saying "I'm sorry, but your phone is not authorized for use." Originally, I called Customer Service to set up a bridge pay which means that my service will continue unless the bridge pay is not met. Trying to get through to customer service after setting up a bridge pay is useless!!! You can't get past the automated message! Since the bridge pay deadline has not yet expired, I wanted to know why I keep receiving the above message, and since I can't get through to customer service, I decided to contact "Pay Go" with Cricket. I have rarely if ever been motivated to write a comment about a company's customer service and quality (good or bad) but Cricket Wireless has pushed me to the absolute end of my rope! They are without a doubt, the most insensitive and unresponsive company, both in person and over the phone. It is obvious that there is no sense of "service", and they consider their customers, a "trivial un-important" almost nuisance. They are routinely rude, do not follow-up on promises. Deliver relitively poor cellular service (as a carrier in general) (STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEIR ATTEMPT AT BROADBAND WIRELESS). It's almost as if we as customers don't exist. I've waited an hout to see a "human being", in a certified Cricket Wireless store, only to find out that their system was down and they were unable to make the required change to my service. When I subsequently inquired about an erroneous charge, they played it off as MY error, only to later admit they had made a mistake, didn't appologize (what happend to basic manners), and reudely agreed to fix the error. When I complain about a series of dropped calls they offer no assistance or credit. When I ask them to respond to a headset issue, they refer me to technical support where I encounter individuals who know less about about my device then I do. Look, if you need to be with them because you either don't want a contract, or don't have the credit and would require a deposit with a regular/normal carrier, I guess you put up with their crappy service. After I invested $300 in a top of the line tri-band handset with them I thouht the nightmare was over....sadly, no! The horror continues. Their technicians have yet to be trained on the nuances of the new equipment. they are pure HELL! If you can, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If you like CDMA service, I recommend Sprint or Verizon as the carriers of choice as they both have excellent high speed network. Most of your cricket equip. can be flashed to standard setting that these carriers use, or if you have one of their phone, you can begin service with a "pay as you go"/monthly plan. I never swear, but they could make the pope gain a sailor mouth! All these people do is sit in the office saying they cant do this and they cant do that when clearly they did somthing AGAINST YOR ACCOUNT!!! I had them stop automatic bill pay cause i lost my job. Well The nest month i had 10 dollars in my account which i needed for food that day, and they took the payment out making it go -50 somthing. Then my bank charged the 38 dollar minus fee and i tried calling cricket... but lo and behold, nada... their dumb answering machine wouldnt let me through to a sales rep!!!! I has been almost 2 weeks and my account is being charged 8 dollars a day and i still cannot get through to a service rep, i owe almost 200 dollars to my bank and im going to make them payy all of it back... Cricket won't let you talk to a rep unless you input your date of birth, zip code and phone number.
This means if you have Cricket Broadband, there's no way to cancel your service unless you have the device installed on a computer so you can check the software for your number or you have the original email they sent you when you signed up.foxmajik 4/15/09 6:08PM

OMG!!!!!!!!!! Their customer service is the worst. First of all, does anyone there speak fluent English? And I have been trying for the past 5 days to get in contact with someone regarding reporting my phone as being stolen, so they can disconnect it. I have not gotten thru for 5 days now. But WHAT A JOKE when it comes to customer service. The times you need a live person, you're simply outta luck. Reaching a human is a series of mazes. When you get someone at the end, if they can't answer your question, they hang up - HA! Yes, it's happened multiple times to me and others.

I have never had a phone company that has been more difficult. It is true that you wait for ever to speack to someone on the phone and yet the automated system is not much helpful to the questions that need to be answered. If someone is paying their bill there should be no reason why this service should screw up their service with them. When you are trying to get in touch with Cricket online it takes so much of your time just to get a response. If you are not answering the phones and their is poor online services what exactly are you doing. I think you should warn people of the service instead of not caring and trying to take their money. After reading all the horror stories about Cricket customer service I wasn't sure what I was going to get when I called. Customer rep was nice and transfered me to tech quickly. Tech helped directing me with my problem. Both were fluent in English even though you know they were from India or some where else. English was pretty clear yet a bit difficult at times. He guided me through some troubleshooting pretty easily.
Problem stems from going over the 5G mark and my internet running slow. I upgraded to the 10g plan ($60) yesterday. I upload and download music and videos for my business. Well they reset and it worked for an hour. Had good connection, fast download/upload speed. Then it stopped. Wasn't getting anything over 10kbps and at times the internet wouldn't work at all for a few minutes, then it would work for a min. or two then go back to not working. Back and forth through the whole night with nothing going over 10kbps.
This is after reformatting my computer, installing and reinstalling Cricket software, etc. Plus I use the connection on two computers and it was the same on both so I know it wasn't the computers issue.
This morning went to Cricket store and they reset again and come home and internet was doing the same off and on again routine with nothing going over 10kbs. Called the number above, got through and connected fine. Tech ran me through some things.
At the moment which has been close to an hour of running different pages, checking speed as well as using a torrent server this is what has happened -
There was only one time the internet seemed to have froze and start up again, I still might have that issue to call them back on. I have had the same issue on IE, Firefox and Chrome. I did have to disconnect and reconnect to the server once and it seems to work fine from there. I have been testing speeds at speedtest.net, a few times the internet didnt hook up but that was before I disconnected and reconnected. Tests are avg and above average. I also have been using a torrent program to test upload and download speeds, so far things are running good.
But as far as customer service, in-store help has been good but only limited in their knowledge. Customer support on the phone, using the number above mind you, was pretty good as well. Problem seems to be resolved but wont truly know until a full day of being online.

I too have had a very difficult time with their Customer Service. Their 800-Cricket number is the worst customer service ever.
This number works. I Called. I was transferred to a live person at Cricket Broadband. Spoke to Glen. He did everything right. Listened. Ask me to pay my bill to reactivate. Removed the additional fees for reactivation. I pressed a bit harder since I've been trying to get them to do this for over 3 months. He put me on hold and talked to his super, who authorized a free month of service for my troubles and continued business.
I had them automatically debit my account monthly, but it seems like they can't get it right, but I am still overall very satisfied with them.

I have read all the nagative comments written about cricket I agree with those however i would like to inform that cricket has the best rate plans with cheaper rate plans which comman man can access so I would say cricket is doing its best job here in US hope they would increase there services and offer us more services..............I'm happy to use cricket services. cricket has the best customer service I have ever seen. Representatives are very friendly and they are very knowledgeable.cricket offers unlimited plans with the cheap rates which is the best part of cricket and representatives from India are the best, they are so helpful. a great job from the customer rep as he fixed the problem where in my phone was ablsolutey dead. But the rep fixed this problem in no time and my phone was workin fine an awesome job from the customer reps and he was speaking very although he was an INDIAN. I would like to let you know a few things about my cricket broadband.It wasnt working for a few days and after a week or so it was escalated then i again called the customer rep again then a rep did a miracle and the cricket modem was working superb and going forward there was no issues with that. thanks to the customer rep but the IVR machine really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!marc butler 5/27/10 8:46AM

Every cellular company has horrible customer service. Always have and probably always will. Thanks to whoever posted this number. Sure made it hassle free. I think the phone call lasted 3 to 4 minutes, including the troubleshooting portion. 3Kicker Plays 5/11/10 10:17AM

I was being charged "roaming" for calls that were NOT roaming calls. I went to the store where I established service in Canyon Lake, Tx. The manager pulled up my acct and agreed with me, but that I would have to drive 15 miles into New Braunfels for credit to be put back on my phone. When I got to the New Braunfel store, Mike Alegria greeted me. He pulled up my acct. and told me that I shouldn't have been charged. His manager was out of the building, so he wrote a note to my acct. and dialed *611 from my phone and I spoke to the rep. She told me she was sorry, but she couldn't credit the money. I asked to speak to her supervisor and I got the same story. "Sorry, but we can't do that." I asked her why I was charged, and she told me that she didn't know, but I would not have a credit put back on my phone. I told her that this was the worst "customer service" I had ever had and that there were plenty of other places to go and that she had just lost a customer. When I hung up, I thanked Mike for his help and was heading out the door. He stopped me and told me that he would see what he could do. I was almost home when he called me and told me that a credit was put back on my account. I was so surprised. Mike really cared and took the extra time to make things right. I very much appreciate all he did. He can't be that old, but he has the right idea about what's the right thing to do. Going in, that's all I was asking Cricket for. Just do the right thing. I do not get all the neg reviews, I have had Cricket for 3 mo now, great service, coverage everywhere I go, no dropped calls or text (in KC area). No billing issues, I pay my bill online easy as 123. I have the Samsung Messager II phone great features, work great.
I know of people who have had Cricket for 3 years or more and sing nothing but praise about it, that why I chose them along with price and no contract.
Info for those neg reviews, first off Cricket does not make the phones, it's not their fault if your phone is of low quality blame the maker not the seller of it.
And there is a big difference between the dealers who sell Cricket service and actual Cricket owned stores. I use a company store by me, looks like a AT&T or T-Mobile store inside, nice knowledgeable people, great service.
Too many people want a Lexus at a Kia price, you get what you pay for, at $45 a mo for everything I do not expect the same level of service I would expect at $100 a month with a 2 year contract.
If you do not like Crickets service then go sign a 2 year contract you can not get out of with someone else and see if their c/s is any better (I been with 2 others, its not). Pay $80, $90, a $100 a month for the other guys and stop complaining (and find out how many bill errors, dropped call and dead zones you get with them. I have friends with T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T and they complain all the time about those very things).Dennis 12/9/09 1:20PM

I got the Internet modem free day before yesterday.
It worked immediately on a computer running XP but not on one running Vista.
(Vista requires that you choose a network and I didn't know how to do that).
I called customer support and within fifteen minutes or less the problem was corrected.
The Internet may be just a bit slower than DSL but if so it's hardly noticable.
It was refreshing to call customer support and get the treatment I got.

I have had Cricket Service in the Pittsburgh area for a year. I have great phone service. Customer service in the cellular market is bad no matter where you go, cricket seems to be no worse than any other. cobra0289 11/23/09 10:28AM

I just read through the majority of the comments about Cricket and I'm amazed! My husband and I have been using Cricket since they first came to Houston. My bill has never fluctuated. We paid the same amount every month for two years. We added the broadband internet Dec. of last year and have had no problems with it either. I've always gotten the help I needed from customer service as well. Sorry to hear all the issues other people have had and hope I haven't opened a can of worms for myself. dvaughn0306 11/8/09 6:59PM

I have had Cricket wireless for about 2 years and I love it! The service is great and don't have any dropped calls like I had from AT&T. The customer service has always been helpful. Even at the stores I don't have any problems. I bought a Palm Treo 700 from somewhere else and they flashed the phone for me! No ploblems at all! (My previous phone was a Motorola Q.) Just got laid off from a US Call Center. All US call centers are being transfer off shore. Root problem is the computer systems. Customers call in, but there is no way we solve most of their problems because either the system won't let us, it is too impossible to make a change, or the system is down. The main system is a non-multitasking system known as CID. This coldfusion app is extremely slow. Customers have to wait minutes while we try frantically to make simple changes to their accounts.
Fees abound. Add something, that's a 10 install fee (unannounced). Downgrade? That's 15. Swap out phones, that's 15. Seriously a change in a database is worth $15? Phone doesn't work after you do a change? Want to change back? No way, batching computer system can't do it. Made a payment with cash at one of our payment locations? Could take up to 48 hrs to show up on the account. System down? Internet off line for phones? No official indication.
The system is set up for failure. Don't blame the agents, they are under enormous stress with their jobs on the line.
Cricket worked so hard to provide service, phones, towers, the computers that support all that at such a good price. It is just said to see the lack of investment in the basic customer service.Anonymous 8/31/09 10:21AM
